Hi all,

I finished with a 3.52 CGPA in using Nigerian rating in Pharmacy. And that's just an average CGPA to be honest.

I intend to apply for fully funded PhD scholarships but I reckon BSc to PhD scholarships by skipping MSc is usually for folks who have incredible BSc CGPA and not an average 3.52

This factor is a huge discouragement. As I don't necessarily want to waste my time further, already applied to about 2 last year and inquired about 7 still same last year without ANY positive result.

Secondly, my second fear is cost of processing DS 160, F1 visa booking, and any other document that may require USD ($). I learnt they may run into 500k Naira, which I have not because I only finisher from school last year under this economy and currently a corp member after I had finished my compulsory one year internship.

So to summarise, my major worries are about chances of winning fully funded scholarship with 3.52 CGPA in Pharmacy, secondly, how to go about spending literally 500k plus in Naira just to do interview, which 86% fail out of.

Guys what are your advice?
My second alternative would be to go for Canadian Express Entry as I studied Pharmacy, below 30 years of age and just got a state sponsored scholarship to do masters in Pharmacy at Enugu State. So I got advise to complete the Msc program and get a Canadian EE, and I can go to US from there as I'll have a better funding by then.

Which is of course can not be compared with a US.

Congratulations and glad to read you finished your program. Congratulations on your scholarship as well. To me, it gives you an opportunity not to rush the admission to the US. This is admission time for Fall, 2025; you can do a good search for a program of choice.
Why are you restricted to only a PhD in Pharmacy? What is your plan after the program? Do you intend to lecture/research or you would like to practice? I think your answer to the last question can be a starting point to guiding you on how best to go about it.

How did you make the soup? It looks delicious.

Ingredients:
Celery, Carrot, Onion, Spices (Smoked Paprika, Black Pepper, Salt, Bullion, Garlic Seasoning), Corn Starch, Heavy Cream, Butter, Chicken, noodles of choice, Oil (any of your choice).

Dice Celery, Carrots, and Onions. Put your pot on a medium heat burner. Pour your oil and put your butter (this helps prevent your butter from burning). Once the butter is melted, add those diced items and allow them to fry for reasonable minutes.

Wash your diced chicken, season with salt and black pepper, then add it to the frying vegetables. Allow the chicken to cook then add your spices, water, and noodles. Once the noodles is al dente (7 minutes), make a slurry from the corn starch add it to the soup alongside your heavy cream. Once they come to a boil, the soup is cooked.

Egg, cheese, guacamole, pepper sauce burrito square. Couldn't wrap it because of the many mushy things inside.

I got an inspiration for chimichanga when I finished. I can put the guacamole and cheese/pepper sauce on top of it.

You simply need to buy a new ticket. No amount of emotionalism and begging will make airlines drop their standards. If you miss your flight, you miss it.

If she missed her flight because of customs like she said, they would put her on another flight automatically except when the tickets were not purchased together in a single transaction. She should go to the counter and ask for a supervisor and explain confidently. I agree with you that her emotions wouldn't necessarily help.

I remember one of my Delta friends back in Edmonton who made Starch and Banga for my mom on her birthday. Told her my mom was in town and I wasn't sure what to do for her birthday. She asked me to bring her over and she made my mom's birthday very memorable. A big shout out to MamaLaju!!!

If the rich are lamenting, I am wondering why some poor folks are still in support of the current government all in the name of loyalty and tribalism.

Not sure I understood the message. Dangote refinery will supply petrol and diesel of the equivalent in Naira. The other by products, will those ones be supplied/sold in USD? I am still not sure why the government is trying to be so involved in Dangote refinery. It will stifle competition with the modular refineries coming up.

Good for you. I am not happy with a fully cooked yolk anymore. Even in my omelets, I try to leave the middle a bit custardy so that it isn't too dry to eat.
