I enjoy it to the fullest… I work from home, so I have all the time to cook and try different naija dishes…. And today, I cook all my food myself…. Even though nah only me dey eat the food for the house…. I used to pay a lady to cook those soups for me, but not anymore…: my soups now make sense pass the ones they used to make for me lol…

The same release should go to those who are either unjustly detained, or awaiting trial for many years over for offenses, for which their sentences are just for three or six months.

If the people haven't been pushed to the brink now, they will never get to the brink.

I was born 51years ago. My dad is a Yoruba man from Ondo State, his name is Olu from what I was told. My mum is an Igbo.

From what I was told. My Father and my mother met after the civil war. He was in the Nigerian Army. He was serving at Agulu, in Anambra State. That was where they met.

From what I heard, they were dating when my mother took in. My grand father was not happy that my mother took in outside wedlock and instructed her to return back home. She returned back and stayed with my grand father and grand mother until she gave birth to me.

I was told my father came while she was pregnant to pay the bride price but, my mother avoided him. He came on two occasions and when he was fed up, he stopped coming. Up till now, my father does not know my mother gave birth to me.

That was the last time he came. He later went back to Ondo State. I grew up with my grand father and mother because, my mother married to another man.

As I was growing up, I started asking my grand father and mother who is my father? Nobody was able to connect me to my father. They are late now. Even my mother denied that, she does not know where he hails from in Ondo State, she only knows that he is from Ondo State.

To cut the story short, I am eager to connect and know who is my father but my mother is not helping matter. She has refused to give me the clue on how to locate him.

Please, how can I locate my father since my mother is proving difficult? Can it be possible for me to do this without her?

You may want to use local radio stations in the South West perhaps, he's a lover of listening to radio. Does your mother remember any of his name, if yes, you can approach the Nigerian Army. They might have an archive that can lead you to either him or his friends.

PhD here who isn’t a research scientist. I have worked with lots of other Phds who aren’t. You’re missing a large number of us.

I guess we should let him be since he's either not adept to finding simple data or he's trying to save face.

You can start from the National Center for Science and Engineering Statiatics. They have different publications that you could look into for more information.

I have googled as you have recommended, and this is what i have discovered ;

1. United States (as a specimen) has officially 5,300 Universities (The main academia).

2. Now, let's break down order of ranks of regular University faculty : We have (Full) Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor. Some Universities have ' Distinguished Professor or University Professor. Let's not forget Professor Emeritus ( retired professors).
The aforementioned are PhD degree holders working in the main academia.

3. Let's go to USA Industries: As at last- year 2023, the United States has approximately, 623,000 Manufacturing Industries, with " Research Scientists (PhDs holders) who focus on developing new products and technologies, and who applies science to solve problems in the marketplace. Research Scientists also works in the academia, because they reports all new breakthroughs back to the Universities and other higher institutions of learning.

4. Therefore, back to your claim sir , how will more than 60% of PhD holders in the United States work outside academia ?
I accept that very few PhD holders walk-away with their certificates, but how will those few beat the main PhD holders working in sense 2 & 3 above?
