anamo: The school won’t do a SEVIS transfer unless I check in with them by physical presence. The department also won’t do a deferral in this case…so I just had to chose another school where I have been admitted…So, transferring SEVIS ID isn’t possible in this case (but I can transfer my SEVIS payment on the SEVIS portal myself). I might be wrong but the other visa becomes invalid in this case. Why wouldn't the school transfer your SEVIS? You are not coming to their school and another school is requesting the transfer. |

anamo: If you are changing school (which is true in my case), you’ll need a new F-1 visa especially with the SEVIS 5 month rule
The professor who input the funding I got a visa with in school A lost his NSF application and he only told me in June after I already got my visa in April. I should have risked it and travelled but I’m scared I’ll just be left stranded after I’ve reached out to other professors who claimed they didn’t have funding. Since I got a new offers for Spring 2025, I just reached out to the grad coordinator that TA offer will be better, rather than RA, which is fine.
Right now it seems going to the embassy again will just be a waste of time.
Thank you Why do you think you will be denied visa? You didn't commit any crime by choosing not to go for program A. You don't need to much of details. Just make it known to the visa officer that program B gave you admission for Spring 2025 and it is your preferred program as such, you decided not to go with program A. If your visa isn't expired, I don't think you need reappear for another visa interview. |

MichaelSokoto: dis is also my own mindset now oo! Nigerians actually don't deserve any kind of pity! They are the architect of their own misfortunes! Sincerely, this is my conclusion. The level of tribalism and nepotism even amidst the perceived learned one's is irritating to say the least. Many only complain when they are not the beneficiaries of these ills of governance and most do not understand the real value of liberty and that is why they are crazy over the paper money than its value. |

Kobojunkiee: These people and communities that have been ravaged by bad governance need to come out to protests. Obviously, sitting back doing nothing has not helped them nor anyone else.. The average Nigerian doesn't like the other. Aren't these killings all signs of bad governance? Did some people not collect N2k to protest against the end bad governance protest? I have learned to watch and laugh when people complain now as it is obvious the populace are a greater problem. |

femmy2010: Tuition has been paid directly to the school . The N20k is additional support for the student's upkeep. This is a good one, really.
Something well thought out like this is what Nigerians need , not Sending grains to them like paupers. My hope is that the beneficiaries find good job upon graduation to enable them repay otherwise, that's another trouble being for the future. |

Well, maybe I should just diss the idea over all and try some other countries. Thanks Did he withdraw the funding because he thought you were not coming? Have you tried reaching out to your graduate program director? |

donbenie: That would also depend on the price at which they were being disposed of.. If you are buying something at a price which seems too good to be true.. If you didn't do your due diligence.. You only have yourself to blame,if there is more than meets the eye.. It is because of our wickedness. This is a void sale ab initio however, we do not have strong laws. Selling/buying at ridiculously cheap price could be because it was a distress/clearance sale. |

Of course he's not expecting me to burn it cos they cost money Your height of wickedness is intriguing. Your type will blame the government and you are more inhumane than they are. You sold what you couldn't use due to bug to someone else to use and here you are justifying it because of money. You are very callous. |

Nazgul: Nigeria is one of the poorest countries in the world, so little tokens like 50-100k might seem like mount Everest to some people despite the fact that they're gainfully employed
In the US however, as long as you have a good job, you'll definitely be able to afford $100. The bolded isn't necessarily true. It depends on your income and life style. It also depends on who is asking you for the money and the person's financial habit. |

Rolexxxy: Applied for the Spring 2025 to University of Colorado Boulder as a transfer applicant using my 100Level transcript. My CGPA is 3.62. On my secondary school transcript there was no gpa but scored As few Bs and few Cs so the person doing the application for me decided to put 88/100 where GPA was required without calculating, will this be an issue? Will it mar my chances of securing admission?
Also, they demanded for Academic history and I uploaded transcript and NECO instead. I want to know if this will be an issue.
@OyouTunjiUSA and GboyegaD I need your input please. Only the university can tell if this is an issue Horace, going forward, do not put a percentage you are not sure about in your application. |

Jay1ne: Hello everyone, good evening. Thanks for the tips and ideas that have been shared here so far. I would appreciate if I could also get counsel on what to do next in my case.
I studied Political Science for my undergraduate degree, however in Uni, I acquired professional certifications(CCNA, HCIA. I am already studying for CCNP and AWS) that allowed me to work as a Network Engineer. I have less than a year experience in this career.
For my Msc, which I hope to go for as soon as feasible, I would not like to continue with political science. Instead, I would like to Master in something related to Information Technology. The dilemma that confronts me now is how I can switch from a non-STEM Bsc, to a STEM Msc. I have checked online and I have not really seen a straightforward answer that addresses this.
I have checked with some schools in the UK that offer conversion courses for people without any background in the Msc course that they want to apply for. In fact, I know someone that studied Agricultural Engineering for his Bsc and completed his Msc in Software Engineering. However, I have not really seen something similar for US universities.
I would just like to know if there are people in similar shoes as mine and how they navigated their way to getting their preferred Msc course.
Thank you very much. Find a school that has what you want, apply with your BSc and IT certifications. Stress your work experience and how the program will help you fulfill your future dreams. Do not forget to highlight your transferability skills. |
