Everyone is mediocre to you.
Sell Sell Sell has put us in this situation of calling on rookies to make up match day squads.
Who would have thought a John O'Shea or Wesley Brown was gonna play a vital role in title wins someday?
Or a Fellaini/Young vital to a UCL spot last term.
Even every world class squad consists of some squad players, not everyone understands this. But there are certain limits to it, and that's the boundary separating goods squads from mediocre ones.
There are some squad players we should have move on from though and i see nothing wrong in selling these players but what i fault is not bringing in adequate replacements which has been part of the causes for our failure this season, and what is ultimately gonna cost LVG his job.
elampiro:
You got it wrong. Perreira was given opportunity first but he messed up. In Capital 1 cup against Ipswich he was just there, but he scored a good goal.
Against Wolfsburg he was a liability when he came on. I think he and Darmian were the reason we went under severe pressure late on at Old Trafford.
Lingard was brought on at half time against Everton, his first game of the season. He immediately showed signs. In our next match against CSKA at away, he played very well. When I choosed Valencia as MOTM, many people here went for Lingard. And we had an argument for three days.
Against CSKA at home, he played like he has been a UCL player for ages. He played from both sides of the wing and gave a performance almost as Mephis gave last Thursday.
Lingard earned his place at the slightest opportunity. Perreira failure to grab his place brought Lingard to the fore.
People who are arguing that he's a poor winger are basically missing the point, and seemingly followers of the Moyesian school of football. He isn't a winger, he's a forward, which is illustrated by the amount of goals he scores per 90 minutes played in the league (Squwaka).

0.43 - Lingard
0.35 - Martial
0.33 - Rooney
0.18 - Mata
0.17 - Fellaini - Depay - Herrera

Lingard is in the team because he's more direct than someone like Valencia, who like a robot tries to get to the byline and put in aimless crosses over and over. He's also more direct than a player like Mata who is far too static when he plays on the wing and offers very little goal threat, illustrated by his last PL goal being scored 3 and a half months ago.

I'm not saying he's a regular starter for the club or he should be, but the criticism he gets from some is silly considering how much worse some players are performing relative to their standing in the game. It's almost as if people think that dropping Lingard would magically improve Mata's form.

The two worst attacking displays I have seen in the league this season were away to Crystal Palace and home to Norwich, Lingard played in neither game, Mata played in both.
3 goals and 2 assists in his last 6 games, some have been against poor clubs but that's a decent return for a winger and he proves to be quite an important player for us. I can't understand the amount of stick he gets, he's no Reus no but he's doing a decent job for us.

SIRcumalot:
Pereira and lingaard no dey play the same position na,
I agree that lingaard is average the goals he scored don cover people eye don't much about pererira
bellerin isn't good defensively he'll be exposed today.
I don't really rate him and think he lacks several attributes to be a top level player. In fact, sometimes when I watch him, I think he would struggle to get into Championship teams. But he does have a knack of nicking a goal, as-well as missing some absolute sitters. If LvG goes this summer and we assemble a more functional team, a player like Lingard could thrive as a squad player or a starter in the lesser games. It's hard to know what his future holds.

Its easier to twist words around when quoted out of context.

Am not asking you to like him in anyway (your hatred is way beyond that level) just cut him a slack will you and try being objective for once.
Bros nobody is twisting anything. we understand fully what he meant regards the entirety of the question. He's doing something bad and saying he doesn't mean to and you are here saying his words were twisted when he has almost had to withdraw those statements and even Ramos said he didn't express himself properly. sorry what are you on about really? If you would care a little more about madrid, you'd stop defending him.

What's shameful is that he's still wrong, whichever way you see it. He's just creating excuses from nothing. see my old post
I knew you'd say this but he is far from being right. I think no one is trying to say that he should carry Real Madrid entire season all alone, but his team has needed him this season a lot and he hasn't been there as much as his reputation and his paycheck suggest.

There's some valid criticism against his performances and even if Madrid had the front 3 fit all along the season they could be a little far from Barcelona, who also lost Messi for a stint, Neymar too, Rafinha, Turan, Aleix, Alba. I would buy his arguments if we were in April and Madrid had just lost their chances because they were beaten by good teams while playing Jese, LV, Kovacic and all of those, but they're in this mess in February having dropped points against Sporting, Malaga, Betis. They even had their best 11 against Sporting! they also delivered poor performances against Granada, Celta with 10 man, Valencia.
It's better not to tell of what happened against Barcelona(who were without messi for a while) with their 11 best players

Anyway, there's a part of his comments that the media isn't mentioning enough, the one where he says "I don't know, maybe it's because the work we did at the preseason and the start of the season", he might be trying to protect Zidane while continue to blame Benitez, and while Benitez has a rather large body the time will come when this "sield" will crack. Benitez is gone, Real, James and Ronaldo "resurrected" at least 3 times under Zidane's management and today the team, Ronaldo included, looked as clueless as 2 months ago. So there's no way to defend this guy.

LOL. I wasn't surprised when I read that statement from CR7, that's the typical egotistical CR7 talking. His clarification statement was nothing but damage control. But that said, that statement is none of my business and not why I don't want him back at OT. My 2 reasons are:

1. He's past his prime. Don't get me wrong, he's still banging in goals but not in crucial matches. If he's back at United and he's scoring against Aston Villa but coming up short against sides like Shekpe, Gayners, Tottenham, Shitty; of what use is he? Especially after costing us a lot including his exorbitant wages? United need men that are in their prime, young and big game players.

2. This is the most important reason for me. In an editorial on Goal.com, they wrote on how CR7 NEVER/HARDLY tracks back to defend even after Zizou had implored all team-mates to track back to defend. That's CR7 for you. While everyone is helping to defend, he relaxes and waits for the ball to get to him so he can score and celebrate as usual. This is not what United needs. This shitty United sides needs total overhaul and new buys that are willing to fight for the United revival. CR7 is not our solution, we need quality players in almost every position in the pitch. If we get quality players in every position of the team, then we can get CR7 as a bonus. That way, even if he doesn't track back, the team can cope and mitigate the attacks of the opposition teams. That way the team can win games and not depend on him like Madrid does. If Messi is injured, Barca still wins. Why? Coz of the overall quality of the team. But if Bale or CR7 gets injured, Madrid will start struggling. That's not what we want in Man Utd. CR7 is a player after his personal gains and it won't benefit us. His dream club is Madrid, let him stay there or move to PSG. He's helped us in the past, we don't need him no more.
Thank goodness you are seeing the right thing. We might even get worse with him.

At least he delivers when it matters most unlike Ronaldo n Hazard... grin
Well to be fair, he carries a lot for atletico's attack which currently lacks sufficient firepower this season and may be related to his struggles . The major highlight this season for them has been their exceptional defense.
They have only scored 36 goals in 26 league games so far (only three more than United for example), but they sit 2nd with 58pts (four pts ahead of RM who've scored the most, 71), thanks to their defensive record of conceding only 11 goals in those 26 games (with 17 clean sheets!). In all comps the've amassed 25 clean sheets in 39 games. And only on 4 occasions so far have they conceded more than one goal -- 2 at home to Benfica in the CL, 3 away to Celta in the Copa and twice 2 against Barça in the league.

Only two players have scored more than one goal against them so far this season: Messi and Celta's Pablo Hernández.

You are the morronic one here

I have told you that unless EPL is able to best Italy by the remaining 0.3. in the remainder of this season, they would lose for 17/18

WHich is what the UEFA site says that the result for this season is a determinant for what happens in 17/18
EPL does not need to best Italy by 0.3 to retain slots for 2017/18 because England is still ahead and the 2011/12 points do not drop off as you falsely stated
see my initial post which started the argument
Sometimes you should slow down on this. The difference between England and Italy as of now is 3.6 coefficient points. Assuming Juve and Roma both go out now and without getting any point in return legs, Lazio alone will have to make up those 3.6 coefficient points. Italy started with 6 teams so Lazio need to get 22 points including bonuses. If they win every match from now on in Europa, including final, the max they get is 17. We are also assuming here that English teams get no point from here on which is not likely. So 4 spots for 2017-18 are secured for PL. PL teams though should really use this opportunity to capitalize so as to negate last season when Italy gained 5.5 coefficient points on England. Otherwise England may start slightly behind Italy next season which will determine 2018-19 spots.
You lost this particular argument a long time ago. Anyone who has time to read through the posts would notice this.
I can make it a little easier for since it's obvious you don't really understand the process like you claim to do. This site should enlighten you.

This is the part about you I dont like unnecesary agidi (I no go gree) when you are in the wrong

You clearly didnt know or overlooked that the 11/12 coeffcient drops of which is why you were confidently telling us Lazio alone cannot overturn it. As at the time you posted Europa draws havent been made and you didnt know EPL is guaranteed a place in the quarters.

Admit that you have learnt something you didnt know and move on
and i replied
Lazio needs to overturn it. The 2011/12 season won't fall off. The coefficients for 2016/17 are already determined and england remains with 4 slots for that season but these are the 5 seasons that would determine 2017/18 : 2011/12 2012/13 2013/14 2014/15 2015/16
I have quoted you several times so you can't even edit or spin.

This is the "I no go gree mentality" we talked about. You already goofed on saying lazio has to overturn the 3.6 deficit when lazio doesnt have to do anything close to that. The system would automatically drop the 3.9 advantage the EPL has
All the results for this season doesnt affect the number of teams for next season it would only affect for upper season
So the statement you made here about the 4 spots for 17/81 being secured as at today is completely false. For it to be secured the EPL need to outperform Italy by 0.4 in the remaining games
You really should have let this go, but you refused. Now you are confused, i can see it clearly. There i correctly stated that PL would still have 4 slots in 2017/18(but italy would start ahead of England that season) , how difficult is this for you to understand?
