You are really on top of your game with accurate facts. That dolt is even unaware 2nd Niger Birdge is on PPP and will be tolled. People that are claiming credit for Dangote refinery a privately owned investment will have no scruples claimiimg a PPP infrastructurelole the 2nd Niger Bridge unsurprisingly.
Agbegbaorogboye: Lol. Tissue of lies to justify yourself. Which free trade zone was completed in fashola's term? Who commissioned it and when? Now you know it takes years for PPP to work. Who told you 2nd Niger bridge is fully FG? The bridge will be tolled by JB to recover the cost of building it. FG only funded 15%
You were at the newspaper stand to buy a daily or to join in gossips . You all supported a directionless government. Why not use the acclaimed infrastructure to move around instead of queuing for fuel or read newspaper by the roadside when you have a smart phone. At least there is no scarcity of data through a legacy of a man like OBJ you love to curse daily.
babaolofin: What is face saving in a visit of Tinubu and three Northern Governors to Buhari?
What is the outburst about Abeokuta statement of Tinubu? Why is the tempo changing about New Naira notes and fuel distribution?
Is Buhari contesting election? Somebody must be courageous enough to speak about the State of the Nation at a time the government performance is a major criteria for determining the incoming government.
Is Buhari going to determine the voting pattern when the nation is in crisis?
On Monday, at Redemption Camp, I spent four hours to withdraw 20K from ATM after I have tried 6 Banks.
The discussions at the Newspapers Vendor stand at Redemption Camp Gate beside Conoil on Monday morning about the state of Nation and why majority of people may not vote the incumbent Party (APC) is just what Tinubu vented out at Abeokuta on Wednesday. On that Monday, I was at the Redemption Camp in front of House of Favour (Ogun Province 4) hearing people complaining bitterly about the State of the Nation. We were there when we got information that they brought oil (PMS) to the AP filling station opposite Redemption Camp Conoil . People started rushing with kegs to buy fuel because of scarcity. Somebody asked a question if Osinbajo was not aware of all these crisis.
I was at Sagamu on Sunday, the complaints against APC government were very acidic, it will take a miracle for APC to win in those areas. You expected Tinubu to keep quiet while people are angry and complaining?
Even though it is an obvious lie but in the face of AML act as amended 2022 which the almighty Tinubu was oblivious of before blabbing in that Channels interview that the contents(money) in them belongs to him. Ayo has actually done him a big favour with his assertion. If the case is ever charged to court,it is a strong defence in court unless a documentary evidence showing the contents of the vans being offlloaded and shared in Tinubu's house can be produced. It is obviously a white lie but a strong rebuttal in court . A very big leeway to circumvent the AML act. I beiieved he has been coached by a smart lawyer to say that.
Ashirioluwa: This individual is aware that his story about the bullion van is false, but he feels the best thing to do is to defend his boss.
Why are you helping him to amplify his inadequacies. A statement that was issued after campaign, why didnt he open his mouth to tell people at the campaign ground.
Look @ this confirmed heroine-drug running addict and baron. Yes! Not allowing PDP into power is sacrosanct but the APC that has enmeshed this nation into the worst state never seen in history will also be kicked out on 25th of February 2023.
He must be a fool! to think he can fool Nigerians with all the sanctimonious scam fraud and deceptive rhetorics of 2015.Thunder fire any senseless urchins and miscreants who quote me to say rubbish.
We are of the early 90s in university. University fashion game means quality jeans,t-shirt decent leggings or ski pants, pin -down button shirts, trainers, loafers, sneakers, moccasins etc. I can tell you that in my almost 5 years in the university,I never saw a female student with an exposed cleavage in class. Those who are blessed with huge one wore what downplayed their assets. By the way, my comment was actually about poor dress sense not immoral dressing if you had read it with open mind.
texazzpete: Ironically, there was probably someone looking at your sister’s generation and lamenting the decay of morals that had pushed students into doing ‘fashion parade’ in lecture theaters.
I went to UI recently and I saw university students wearing beach slides to classroom!!! The girls too were not left out of the slippers game. Can you imagine hundreds of dirty feet and how unsightly that look. My sister who was a former Queenite cannot believe her eyes that students can wear slippers around faculty social sciences which was famed for the top-notch fashion game in her time.
nedekid: Student must dress decently. If it means they have to inspect them at the main gate. Their hair must be properly cut. Universities are places of learning first and foremost. Infact student should not be allowed to bring cars on campus. The most allowed should be bicycles. The decay in public universities is just too much. When we went to university 33 years ago it was not this bad. Infact most parents now fear sending their wards to public universities, if the could afford it they will go private.
30 percent is a substantial number. The Gbagyi people in Niger East are predominantly christians and have sent more Christians to the senate than muslims. The whole muslim population in UK is about 5percent, France 7.5 percent and they are viewed as subtantial . So two Muslims vying for Governorship in Niger and running neck to neck will require christians votes to break the tie. Even amongst the Nupes there are good numbers of Christians.
Agbegbaorogboye: You're wrong on the numbers. The Christian population in Niger can't be more than 30%.
You're right though on the alteration to the ticket by APC in 2015.
But that does not mean Christians have a comparable population with Muslims in Niger. That's the difference between that of Niger state and Kaduna. Kaduna has a balance in demographics which the same faith ticket by El-Rufai is looking to suppress. It's same idea they're trying to push at national. This thing has been a long time coming. Even Buhari once said if Muslims vote Muslims and Christians vote Christians, the Muslims will always win in Nigeria.
Not a mistake. They have susbtantial numbers of Christian population. It has always been a Christian deputy governor tradition until APC came and altered it. People erroneously thought El Rufai started the experiment but it was first trialled in Niger by APC in 2015.
Agbegbaorogboye: One mistake LP made is choosing a Christian as governorship candidate in Niger state. I don't get the rationale behind that.
When I told my brother who is now a man city fan because of Pep that United's biggest rivals are Liverpool followed by Leeds utd. He didn't believe until he went to Etihad and got to confirm . He also learnt that, when Kalvin Phillips opted to join city from Leeds instead of united where he is guaranteed more playing time because of the intense rivalry between the two clubs. Cantona, Rio Ferdinand and Alan Smith are yet to be forgiven for crossing over to United especially Smith who is a local lad like Phillips. Man Utd fans prefer city who are viewed like a neighbour to win titles than their eternal rivals Liverpool. Liverpool and Everton rivalry the Merseyside derby is seen as lesser rivalry to United . The same as the Mancunian derby with city.
In London the fiercest rivalry is the Arsenal vs Spurs the North london derby who are separated by just 4 miles and is bigger than all London teams like Chelsea,West Ham,Fulham,Crystal palace,Charlton,Millwall and Watford. Although later day chelsea fans see Arsenal as their direct rivals instead of Fulham who are less than 2kms down the road.
In the West Midlands city of Birmingham, Aston Villa and Birmingham City have the fiercest rivalry that extra securty are always deployed with helicopters hovering around when they play each other especially at St Andrews the home of B'ham city FC.Westbrom and Wolverhampton the other local rivals pick the pieces.
Right accross the East Midlands, the biggest rivalry is between Forest and Derby County since the legendary Brian Cllough crossed from the later to the former. Leicester City squaring up to the two of them is a lesser rivalry
Up there in the North East,Newcastle,Sunderland and Middlesbrough can not be separated as they are always at each other's throats.
Across the Yorkshire, on the west side is the intense rivalries amongst Leeds,Bradford and Huddersfield. This spills to the south of it with the two Sheffield clubs,United and Wednesday(oldest football club in the world)haviing a chequered history of animosity.
[ author=Shikena post=120170495] Don't know where you got this from. While most of the major teams in the league are technically rivals, Manchester United and Chelsea don't have history of traditional rivalry. Man United's main rivals till tomorrow is Liverpool FC (being the two most successful clubs in English football) and their local derby is with Man City. Chelsea's main rivals are Tottenham and Arsenal. Chelsea are English champions a total of 6 times, less than Aston Villa and Everton. Even a kid that was born yesterday in England knows that. Forget the rivalries you created on the streets of Nigeria.[/quote]
Who conducted the census of Muslims and Christians in Osun state ?
juman: Do you have sense? Osun has more muslim population, but they voted in a christian governor. The only muslim governor in south west was voted out. Now all the governors in south west are christians.
He wont be able to read the article as he is not a subscriber and probably does not have an international payment system card. You can help him by extracting the article and paste it here.
Sadly the famous urchin is right in that context. Rounding off is to connote an event coming to an end.
AkpaMgbor: The irony is how an old ethnic bigot like you tries to erroneously correct someone when a simple perusal of basic English from a textbook or even Google would have enlightened your dull brain. And you got likes from your fellow urchins who can't read on their own even if their lives depended upon it.
TheGoodAmerican: Did you expect those places to open on Christmas day? Christmas is only once a year; those people deserve to spend it with their loved ones too. Besides, since the UK is only a few hours away from Nigeria, if being with your family is important to you on Christmas, all you had to do was book a flight.
Havent you heard of cultural differences. Thats the way they celebrate Christmas. It is a day dedictated for family bonding or to visit aged parents whether in their homes or in a hospice. You wait till Easter weekend bank holiday and you see the difference.
koife: Hello nairalanders, I am particularly compelled to pen this down as I observe my first Xmas away from nja.

It is a fact that tribalism is worse than racism. The black Americans hate Africans so much yet they expect whites to show love and respect them
mushroomFarm: . I travelled through different Russian cities. To be honest Racism is everywhere. I am certain it is here too but it must be so low and negligible that I have not experienced it. . . Take a look at how we bash each other on Nairaland. Tribalism is also a form of racism.
It is no longer 600m but downwardly reviewed to 500m. Ok now, we need to interview Buba Marwa his predecessor to know the real figure.
femisplash: Tinubu is a-no- nonsense charismatic leader, a kind of "talk na do" Presidential personality. Under the Government of Asiwaju Tinubu, you have absolutely no reason to embark on a senseless strike when the state is giving you the best welfare package in the country. Tinubu will never tolerate any worker downing tool despite prompt payments of wages and allowances. When ASUU was trying to cajole Lagos universities into joining their strike, Tinubu advised Fashola to fire any lecturer trying to hold the state to Ransom and employ those ready and interested in teaching. Tinubu doesn't joke with productivity much less an economy as big as Lagos. You cannot engage in meaningless strikes in a state that has provided you a service opportunity bigger than federal packages. If Tinubu had been lethargic and laid back, Lagos IGR wouldn't have improved astronomically from a meagre 500 million to 50 billion unlike a Pandora fraud that couldn't grow the IGR of a small state like Anambra in 8 years, left them in poverty, took NEXT Mall out of Anambra state, invested state's funds in his family business and used state's funds to grow the networth of his bank.
The diaspora remittances can no longer be well captured again. Nigerians have found many other easy and convenient channels to send money home under the radar. Nigeria diaspora remiitance is certainly biigger than that of Egypt.
ProvisioDigital: ▪ Often called 'diaspora' remittances (the word, diaspora has some negative connotation but popularly used in Nigeria for Nigerian migrants) in the world, these ten countries have received the largest remittance from their citizens abroad in 2021: 1. India 2. Mexico 3. China 4. Philippines 5. Egypt 6. Pakistan 7. France 8. Bangladesh 9. Germany 10. Nigeria
Nigeria and Egypt are the 2 African countries that consistently feature in the top ten. Nigeria used to receive more remittances than Egypt but from 2017, this changed. Egypt has been the 5th largest recipient of remittances in the world since 2017.
▪ From 2010 to 2011, Nigeria was the 5th largest recipient; from 2012 to 2015, Nigeria was the 6th; from 2016 to 2019, Nigeria was the 7th and in 2020, Nigeria finally dropped to the 10th place. Closely following Nigeria in 11th place is Ukraine ($18.1b), this could be attributed to the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
▪ Nigeria and Egypt had both been receiving above $20bn since 2017 but in 2020, Nigeria's remittance dropped to $17.1bn. According to the World Bank, countries that experienced scarcity of foreign exchange and multiple exchange rates witnessed decline in remittance inflows as flows went to alternate mediums where better rates were offered.
White men are racists while black men are tribalists. The latter is worse.
Bimffo: These are the same people clamouring for same sex marriage at the world cup.
Europeans are generally racists. Don't let any campaign they make in their country fool you. They are racists and they don't have the ability to change.
The earlier we as Africans realize this, the better.
