Uche M:
HELLO LADIES AND GENTLEMEN,
I AM INTERESTED IN BUYING THE NEW ZENITH BANK FUND STUFF BUT I DO NOT KNOW WHICH ONE TO GO FOR BETWEEN THE EQUITY FUND (Capital Appreciation, minimum of 70% in Blue chip stock) AND THE INCOME FUND (Capital preservation and maximun of 20% in Blue chip Stocks)!

PLEASE ADVICE ON THESE TOPIC WILL BE HIGHLY APPRECIATED.

OR DO YOU THINK THE FUND ISN'T WORTH IT AND I SHOULD JUST GO FOR REGULAR SHARES IN THE SECONDARY MARKET? PLEASE KINDLY ADVICE AS I AM NOT SO MUCH EXPOSED TO THIS FUND STUFF? THOUGH I BOUGHT THE FIRST BANK HERITAGE FUND.

HOPE TO HEAR FROM YOU GUYS.
CHEERS
I have not yet read all the details, however if you are not keen on spending time looking at investments that is you put the money and leave it for years then the Equity fund should perform better.
With some interest in the market you may beat the fund managers though (by buying into individual stocks). Also from your last sentence then invest in something else (why invest in two funds?).
For instance buy 1 bank: GTB, PHB or UBA
1 coy like Dangote sugar and leave it for the period you also wanted to leave the funds, See which yielded better returns,
Essentially the decision is up to you,
Happy investing

@enyaimann,

Here are my thoughts regarding banks and my other concerns.

1. The banks are not going anywhere in the short-run. I've come to conclude that investors have seen the NSE as a cash-machine or slot machine. People have grown used to >80% YoY growth and they think it that is the norm. That is not sustainable in the long-term. Also, the banks have raised too much money in a short period of time and they have become "fatty bombom" and will find it hard producing such growth rates. Hence the migration of "investors"/speculators to low norminal value stocks.

I would love to share some other thoughts though.  As the non-fundamental but rapid growth sectors/stock begin to show red, the fundamental bank stocks will see some demand again and even some insurance stocks
even before the last quarter.
2008 will still yield >50% ROI however I hope regulations will be tightened, before the masses suffer again,

Question!! who is looking for Juli 6.54M share demand today??

Unusual is the pace of the thread today. Like bear movement wink.

Does anyone know a site(s) that publishes the daily BID & OFFER position of stocks on NSE?
Would appreciate the information.
Try this

Hope this is helpful

My dear brother, please shine candle on Fidelity. I have too many KG that selling is about half a million loss. I am really considering counting my loss and move on to something positive.
A few questions how long have you held it? For u to loose so much you must have bought it less than 2 months now so if not pls correct me, please leave FIDELITY for another two months at least let it enter the next quarter and I dare say even 6 months.
You will come back to thank us here,
This is based on the hope that they declare some impressive results, and the fact that there is still a robust NSE.
If you are however pressed for cash then cut the losses, If you ask me I would just go and relax for at least 2 months,
It is still actively traded,

Caveat ,

InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by Geees: 8:15pm On Mar 17, 2008
Hi folks
I wish to comment about this current trend,

Good result:Dip in price; Dismal result:Increase in price

Is some one stiring the market? I doubt it sha else this person(s) are strong.
Yes I have read from investment books that fundamentally sound (blue chip coys) grow slowly, BUT STEADILY. Its a market so some will be loosing as others are gaining, no worries
My suggestions stick to the mid fundamentally sound coys and begin to shift from CICO to short term, Even if its 3 months, that is if you have a lower risk profile,
If you have a sound abi agbero broker and liver plenti then enjoy CICO. I pray for long life to see what is going to happen to this trend,
BOOKS WILL BE WRITTEN ABOUT THIS
Happy investing, or is it cicoing
Cheers

Same thing happens in mine but then the analysis works 100% grin I just let it import for 20 miins then shut it down. Re-open and I'm good to go. A quirk with no consequences.

Have to find a work-around for this ZSL issue. I can only do it once or twice a week. Too time consuming. Will post 25 - 27 tommorrow.
Thanks Easi,

any one online,do u know if pumpimg has divurge some of the insurance coys he so much talked about, your response will be greatly appreciated

Oga pumping, shake bodi for your boys naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Yeah
No vex my brother. I've just tracked down your query.

This one is simple. There are some insurance stocks with good fundamentals and low relative nominal price on TS or TS bound.

Collecting some for post TS run is a good idea since they will be the first set to be TS-Proof and in the insurance sector.

Caveat Empty o.

That was his response
Hope that answers your question,
He was not specific.
