The OP is mischievous To start with, it's functional Even the most beautiful train stations in the western world didn't start out looking as good as they look today It can be upgraded in future but there's no question about its functionality It's not the finest I've seen but nevertheless not the ugliest iterator25: What happened to escalators? There are several train stations in the UK with stairs with no options for escalators Besides there are BRT lanes along the same route 2 Likes |

brabus: I live in Ogun state and I'm yet to see how this is beneficial to common man. Until they give you handouts, not thing government does will be beneficial If a government decides to fix roads, it's overall effect on the economy is almost immeasurable Travel time will be reduced, wear and tear or cars will go down, industries and farms can move their produce in less time and at reduced costs etc Building roads of this quality and width will also ensure government makes savings in rehabilitating and expanding roads in the near future |

Punch has always been objective and their print quality is about the best They also have a well organised system comparable to what you'll find in the US Although they have to grapple with the challenges of unstable power supply, corrupt government officials struggling to 'kill' information, they've done a pretty good job Their columnists have criticised almost every person in government such that you can be sure they are not biased 10 Likes |

As far as the SW is concerned, the PDP isn't welcome The only language we understand is development The PDP can't give us that and the closest to it is the APC Until we find a better alternative, we will stick with the devil we know Before dem turn Lagos to Abia 2 Likes |

ikwere militant: nd yet ur pepl cant aford a bundle of zinc Is it ironic that they can't afford zinc roofs but can shop the shelves of Shoprite dry? Isn't it amusing that they can't afford to change their roofs but can buy enough food from KFC to make them open three outlets in one year? Meanwhile your kinsmen are begging Shoprite to keep their empty outlet in Enugu open 1 Like |

Sunny_bobo: Not me mate. I'm sorry for the people who'll make use of that trap. Abeg show us the one your governor has built The structural design of a bridge is based on the load it's intended to carry and a thick column/pillar doesn't indicate strength |

The pics were so large I had to download an app to resize on my iPad Here's. Ogun The second pic below is a 107km road spanning three LGAs Impressive quality There's a well compacted sub base and a thick base course before the wearing course Most roads in Nigeria just consist of a graded sub base and wearing course If this standard was the regular Nigerian standard, the money invested on this road may build four of its type

Politics / Re: The Dearth Of Development In The South-east by geeez: 2:15pm On Nov 24, 2013 |
Abagworo: Southeast has been receiving the least funds in Nigeria for more than 40 years but we are thriving. Our major problem remains public utilities, urban renewal, pipe-borne water and good refuse disposal in our cities. In terms of housing, Southeast is far ahead of the rest of the country. Our houses look dirty now because of bad roads and secondly some parts that have laterite surface soil that tends to discolor houses after every harmattan. Our economic hopes lies in Anambra and Abia which actually could have been leading the rest of Africa if not for misplaced priorities by successive governments. The biggest mistake was making Awka and Umuahia capital of Anambra and Abia and in that process denying the required formal/public sector from merging with commerce and industry to create a Kano or Ibadan in Igboland where a State capital will be fully commercial and industrial. On the average, the SE states get more from the centre than they contribute to it The same goes for the entire north Only the SW and SS receive less from the centre than they contribute to it 1 Like |
