Identity crisis Today the tell us they are Jews, tomorrow they claim that Ijaws are Igbos and the day after they say Lagos is part of Biafra. A confused lot |
Next thing some people will do is start posting pictures of the best places in their states which is like 20% the size of Ibadan and is far behind the economy of the booming south western state Yourbaland o Ni baje |
homosapien: When will Nigerian learn to vote for candidate and not the partyYep! Nigerians voted the candidate and not the party last year ... We can all see the results in GEJ |
He's done well. For banning me without stating any clear reason, the moderators are messed up |
Same thing you said this time last year |
I hope the numerous girls queuing in line and waiting to be exported for prostitution will learn from this |
Ohaneze1: For yoreoba dolts on this thread who never believed that Igbos are African Jews just like there is American Jews:So how cone you didn't win the war? |
kokosheen: Thank you sir for your kind words..OdeSo you think Yorubas don't carry licensed guns too? Or you think the OPC doesn't have weapons or will run in the face of violence? Ask the Ijaws as well as the Hausas when they stepped beyond their bounds in Yorubaland. |
Wily+Wily:And it's people like these GEJ's air choke the most. If this is the best the Ijaws can do, then .... |
Wily+Wily:While erosion and poverty will take over everything in Igboland |

banki: It's not the first African city monopoly board game.... My monopoly game is made up of south African cities and provinces and I got it in 2000Its the first city in Africa. There's a world of difference between a city and a country. The first African city edition of the famous board game Monopoly has been launched in Lagos. The Nigerian metropolis is one of the fast-growing cities in the world. The board's layout was unveiled at an event in Lagos City Hall, with the manmade Banana Island named as the upmarket equivalent of Mayfair in the London edition. Makoko, the slum on stilts over the city's lagoon, is the cheapest property for sale on the Lagos board. Bribes Nimi Akinkugbe, the head of Bestman Games which is producing the Lagos edition, told Nigeria's Guardian newspaper ahead of the launch that suggestions for the Mayfair spot were "a hot topic". Continue reading the main story “ Start Quote For reckless driving pay a fine... and register for retraining” Chance card Monopoly City of Lagos edition The BBC's Tomi Oladipo in Lagos says Banana Island, which got the coveted position, is an artificially created island where the very wealthy reside. Some properties on the island sell for about $8m (£4.9m) - and it would cost about $150,000 a year to rent a flat there, he says. The Nigerian Stock Exchange, Murtala Muhammed International Airport and several hotels are other properties on the board. Many of the squares are sponsored by banks and shopping centres and even the Lagos state government appears, while some major landmarks like Tinubu Square, the New Afrika Shrine nightclub, Third Mainland Bridge and the National Theatre have been left out, our correspondent says. Other aspects of the game have been tailored for Lagos, like the "Go To Jail" cards, which read: "Go to jail. Go directly to Kirikiri jail," referring to the city's maximum security prison. Our reporter says one of the Chance cards issuing a fine quotes a phrase regularly used by police officers: "Park! Park! For reckless driving pay a fine... and register for retraining." Another reads: "For attempting to bribe a law enforcement agent, pay a fine." Some of the new traffic laws introduced by the Lagos state government, and the punishments for various offences, have also been included in the game, our reporter says. "You've been caught driving against traffic. Report for psychiatric evaluation," one card reads. The Monopoly game was developed in the US, originally based on streets in Atlantic City. A London version of the game was produced in 1935. "Lagos is the first African city to have its Monopoly. Two countries in Africa have theirs, Morocco and South Africa. But there's no city that has its own customised edition," Ms Akinkugbe told the Guardian. |
noblezone: One to get that "smart"?UN will not ask for a referendum, the people will. If they are serious about it, they can make it happen. All I see are just self seeking jobbers looking for relevance and a payoff |
Unlike OBJ who trimmed Atiku to size, GEJ cannot handle a rampaging Sambo |
Wily+Wily: What's this supposed to mean you bigoted hater. Yorubas muslims and christians will continue to live peacefully because we are brothers and sisters. Factories and entrepreneurs are taking over Yorubaland while your land remains dead, barren, eroded and flooded with criminals. I can imagine how your Biafra republic will be. The first set of people that move home will be robbed, then next set will be kidnapped, the third set will be victims of ritual killings and the land will just be filled with filth and criminality with no development as evident in the type of leadership you have always produced. Oloshi olori buruku. |
PointB: They shouldnt even have been arrested in the firts place in a civilised country! What they committed is treason but for the actualization of Biafra, I will suggest you guys put pressure on the UN to organize a referredum. It's very possible and achievable and I can't wait for one of you to get that smart |
Abagworo: You are right. No meaningful thinking Nigerian should plan our future with oil. In reality, with modern advanced mining technology oil could be struck in almost all the countries of the world making raw crude almost worthless. Posterity will never forgive our generation if we fail to free Nigeria from oil bondage. For once we agree on something. I owe you a drink |
Well on one hand, it is expensive I must say but on the other hand, it could be a tourist attraction though I can't say for sure it will be |
k00lxpert: somtimes some pple talk out of point. I dont blame u though, u ve been mesmerised wit fake picture u re fed wit. Nigeria is 1 indivisible country wit diverse culture, language & tribe, so his newly introduced capitalist system of govt can not work 4 us...otondo like uAnd your point is? ![]() |
Abagworo: I wouldn't declare you a hater because you probably lack the knowledge. Oil was 1st struck in Edda but was declared as not commercial. The next place was Owerri which was also declared as non-commercial. Oloibiri and Owaza were struck almost at the same time in the mid 50s and were declared as commercial. Why was Oloibiri and Owaza commercially viable? The deposit was large and it required less investment in pipelines to Bonny. If you can lay your hands on documents that pre-date 1970, you would know this. The civil war led to a lot of cover ups and twist of history. All the pre 70s documents I've seen don't support this claim. Oil Exploration is different from Oil Dsicovery just like an OPL is not the same thing as an OML. Unfortunately the major document I have is hard copy but here's a link that supports my claim. Before discovery of oil, they should have prospected and its an ongoing activity. http://www.nnpcgroup.com/NNPCBusiness/BusinessInformation/OilGasinNigeria/IndustryHistory.aspx And for me I'm not keen on oil because its not the energy of the future and you can't mine every oil field you discover because production is internationally regulated to ensure the prices are competitive. Large deposits of was discovered in Lagos and Ogun but why haven't they been mined? Also smaller countries along the West African coast are discovering oil, the US plans to mine it's oil and if Nigeria doesn't begin to refine its oil now, there will soon be no market for it as even China will build more energy efficient and plants which in some cases won't even require biofuel |
Abagworo: Anyone who read indepth history of crude oil would obviously know that oil was 1st discovered in Nigeria at Edda in Ebonyi.Wrong sir. Oil was first discovered in Oloibiri in 1956. I worked with SPDC fairly long enough to know that. Maybe the oil you speak of is Palm Oil ![]() |
afam4eva: Was it the SW or Lagos that created this monopoly? #justaskingThe last time I checked, Lagos was and still is a south western and Yoruba state |
I can bet the main cause of accidents are the poor state of roads in the SE. Most of the ones I've driven on there are death traps |
Well it's unarguably the biggest industry in that part of Nigeria. While other states are opening factories and commissioning projects, these guys are commissioning new state of the art hideouts to keep their victims ![]() |
What really is the essence of this post? Even the US runs a capitalist economy. Have you ever thought to yourself that even if there was a total ban on okadas, people will still move from one place to the other? Meaning there will still be opportunities in the sector for those who embrace the acceptable means of transportation in the state. Ever since the ban, I've identified more than four businesses that the restriction has created |
The SW rocks. Other regions follow |
These guys from the B world that wanna travel home in style this Xmas have invaded the SW |
I am proudly Yoruba. I love my tribe, my language, my culture and people and there are loads of Yoruba people I'm proud of who have distinguished themselves in business, politics, science, the academia, the arts and a whole lot of spheres of human endeavor and OBJ is unarguably one of them |
The north unarguably controls the Nigerian military (not just army) in terms of personnel as well as military hardware. Only the Navy, which they don't need is controlled by the south and the Nigeria Navy is about the weakest in terms of its hardware as most of the warships are look tired and more or less gunboats IMO. For the Nigerian Army, out of 5 divisions, two are in the north (1 Division and 3 Division), two in the SW (2 Division and 81 Division) while there's one in the SE (82 Division) For the Airforce, which is the strength of any modern military, they have in 11 units under the Training Command all situated in the north. There are 6 major units under the Logistics command with 5 situated in the SW and one in the north. I don't have any information on their Tactical and Mobility commands which I believe are in the north as well. |
]Ndigbo productsIs this some kinda complex? What has your post got to do with the topic? How silly |
I'm shocked at these reactions to say the least. These is a verifiable event. The programme actually aired on 92.3 FM this morning and was hosted by Dan Foster and if that does not suffice, find below a link corroborating Dan's guests position.. I didn't poke a finger of accusation at anyone but just reacted to a report. Though I've been in meetings all day, I took time out to read the 99 page document I downloaded earlier on my flight back to Lagos. It didn't say there's no violence against women in other parts of Nigeria but that it is more rampant in the SE. Violence against women is the issue here and not whatever you guys have made out of it. You could be saving your sister, cousin or friend from abuse if you took it half as seriously as I'm taking this sin against womanhood now. http://www.dfid.gov.uk/Documents/publications1/Gender-Nigeria2012.pdf berem: another stewpid thread.you heard a gossip from inspiration fm then decided tell us. why not get your facts right? infact wait let Baby mama come and treat your mental case.na she fit you.ARA CHARA KWA GI AMU!And yes I got my facts right and will wait for you to counter it with a more recent fact |
You're behind a PC calling for northern treatment but when push comes to shove, we won't find you.
