H-1B is a petition-based visa and typically issued for 6 years maximum with an initial 3 years issued and a further 3-year extension. But for Nigeria, they will only issue you a 90 days, single entry visa just for travel as they had been doing for all visas. At POE, the i-94 and consequent exit date will reflect the duration approved for your petition.

So this means every time you travel back. Say to visit. You have to reapply for another 90days?

I was on placed on 221g at my interview for H4 on October 14th. I got back home and saw that it was already approved in a matter of a couple hours. Mine was in Lagos though. I know someone who had an H-1b interview in Abuja and was placed on 221g, her visa was approved in less than a week after.

The timeline is largely dependent on what they are trying to verify and if they asked for more documents. However, if it goes past 2 months, you can send them an enquiry.

Please how long is the H-1b visa validity after approval? Is there a timeline one must travel and enter the US before it expires?

Pls the general public should disregard this post. If your mom is absolutely qualify she will get the visa. Also people with visas have being able to enter the United States after background. Checks.

My immediate younger sister , together with her friends left Nigeria to Texas last Monday (5th of Jan, 2026), after Xmas holiday. Aside her, people with valid U.S visas have been able to enter America without any issues (few friends of mine) except those who does not know what and where they are going.

What airline did they use?

I have a valid b1/b2 issued in 2024 and expires in 2029 and my passport expires next year but I recently booked a flight and I am seeing this on Delta app. Could very well just be a generic message.

I already paid the 10k. But my mom also has an 3 accounts worth over 10M. Not sure luquidating that account would be the best move. They might also want to charge more than 10k for her move. Also who determines the commission when selling?

I am wandering if anyone knows how charges for inter-member transfer works. I had a stock broker charging me 10k for this transfer. The portfolio been transfered isnt even worth up to a hundred thousand naira. Mind you this is the broker im transferring from. I know there are transfer fees involved but 10k?? Is there no regulation on such fees? At some point the broker even threathen to increase it by another 10k.

Not sure what else to do. I'm attempting to move my old account from Harmony Security ltd over to morgan capital. I have filled all relevant inter-member transfer forms and I'm told Harmony Securities is refusing to respond to the transfer request by Morgan Capital. Mind you I never really opened an account with Harmony Security. My account was opened with Vision Trust Investment ltd which I'm learning was suspended by SEC. How my account moved over to Harmony Security is unkown to me.

What can I do to reclaim my account? I have asked for KYC update from Harmony Security and nothing was done on that too.

Ps. I have escalated this issue to SEC over a week ago and even had to followup on whatsapp for my mail to be forwarded to appropraite department.

You need to separate Nigeria stocks from Global stocks. For Global stocks, best platform for now is vest Investment. The gap between vest and the local Apps (Chaka, Trove, Bamboo: here I will choose Trove & Chaka, but they are becoming old school) for US stocks is becoming too much.

For Nigeria stocks use Morgan Capital, United Capital .

If you try and use Bamboo, Trove , Chaka for Nigeria stocks you will be short changing yourself. For Nigeria stocks use strictly reputable Nigeria stockbrokers platform

Have you tried contacting Thermocool? Make sure the fault is not from dead batteries in the remote.

The part looks like the remote start module.

I have tried contacting them but only to ask for the carburetor(That was what the service man called it) part which they don't have in stock an i dont think they still produce the model of generator. Plus thermocool always want you to bring the generator to their service centre which would cost more than having a repair man come in to check it.

I'm looking for advice on what to do. I have this TEC-OPTIMA 7500RS generator which has worked for me over the years. The engine works very ok however to put it on these days is an headache. Samething when switching it off. It takes a lot of trials to finally switch it off. The mechanic that comes to service it says it's the carburetor that's faulty and can't be found in the market. That's the black thing on the actual carburetor which I think is what controls the choke electrically. Any advice please 🙏

This may apply if you are outside Nigeria. If you reside in Nigeria best option is to fund in Naira. If you are residing outside Nigeria, you have better option to chose a foreign broker

If you're within Nigeria but earn FCY. It won't make sense to change to naira only to change back to dollars at a the cut throat rate trove and chaka offer.

To be honest, there was just excessive mass hysteria and opposition to the whole idea, that any attempt of the government to explain the meat of the policy was completely drowned out. In my opinion, people were more incensed by the given name of the program, "Ruga", than its actual merits because the name is a Hausa/Fulani word.

I personally have no problem with the word, or, for that matter, naming any national program with any word from any ethnic group. However, I can see how it'd have promoted the perception that the program was meant to favour only a single ethnic group. In hind sight, FG could have used a more neutral name and then put out the program to be debated on a table that included the proponents of the policy as well as representatives of both farmers and herdspeople.

I don't know enough to have formulated a robust opinion regarding the program, and I was deeply irritated by all the noise that prevented this from happening. However some of the things that trickled in from editorials seemed pretty beneficial to society. A village in which herdspeople can operate, with access to vets, schools for their kids, primary health centres, etc. And they wouldn't have to wander about and encroach on private farms. Imagine that...

I don't think the word is an Hausa/Fulani word. From what I know it stands for for Rural Grazing Area I might be wrong though.

In addition to what unibenedictus has said. I know most catholic church generally pick one Sunday of the month (between 1st to 4th Sunday) to welcome new or visiting members. This is usually done at the end of the mass though just before the final blessing and I have had to opportunity of been a member of three different catholic parishes at different stages of my life and I have been welcomed by all. They usually use that approach to integrate members who have come to join into the different societies in the church. It's definitely not done everyday or every Sunday but Monthly as it's not an integral part of the mass and you will have to stay till the very end to see it
