am a photographer and am very good at that.. Also I learnt Shoe making then immediately after nysc so I can really build shoes myself. Those are the things I know I can do very well.... At least making of shoes and selling to the people. Applied for this road safety but no iss. Still waiting for prisons call by God's grace. If that one doesn't work I can at least start my shoe building business or photography
I know a lady on Instagram who makes hundreds of thousands of naira and has over 4people working for her

An makes shoes and sandals. left her corporate job to start

I have a male friend too . very successful

what do these people have that road side shoe makers dont?

Ability to think outside the box.

Ability to get a good hl,high class market for their wares

He's always wearing shoes, socks , nice T-shirt .always well dressed
sometimes in a suit

Tell me why big men won't want to purchase shoes from him for 50k and price your own 10k

if you are on Instagram check dechayilsshoes

Well, I have not lost much in terms of investment. Early this year, I lost about 44k in one bad crypocurrency investment. Although the money wasn't much, but it is still a loss.

I also lost another $159 to one of these American information marketers that litter YouTube. I had watched his videos on YouTube and he was making sense. Then I decided to pay for his course and it turned out to be rubbish.

You better make up your mind

You can't keep praying to God for mercy and keep taking the same road. your period of grace might be exhausted and you'll get caught and doomed

At twenty three your brain is supposed to be teeming with lots business ideas

The thing about easy money is that it gives birth to wasteful lifestyle
Its hard to stop womanizing , and spending lavishly because you didn't sweat for the money.

I don't support Yahoo because its like blood money but there are many investments you can venture into a live a good life.

keep away from friends that make you live a lavish lifestyle

then life humbled him, he learned that he was not really as great as he thought he was he learned his lesons. he is now a billionaire today

a lot of my philosophy has changed since then.

I'm still interested in domain name and softwares but like I said I am trying to gain momentum. I have the knowledge but I'm working on raising capital. in fact I know more about domain name and softwares now than I knew then.

that is why I believe my come back will be massive, I'm not in a rush.

this actually the first time am coming out to talk about my failure, I used to hide it because I didn't want people to judge me as stupid.

plus after the whole thing happened, I fell into a long cycle of depression, lost my self esteem, became a chronic procrastinator and dopamine junky, I would troll youtude and nl day and night just to evade reality did drugs and all.

but just last month I read a book that changed everything "what learned losing a million dollar"

that book changed me in every way. if I had my way I will make everybody I know read that book.

don't worry you will soon hear the part2
Wow I'm glad I didn't meet you when you were trolling on nairalanders lol

19 although am broke asf right now, am 23.

mine was multiple millions I made it from bitcoin, software and domain names.

one guy from nairaland here introduced me to bitcoin back then (for free ) he was giving one eBook like that.

I learned a few thing from his book, but being the mad man that I was, I discovered a way to tipple my result and boom I was raking in bitcoin like craze.

then I hooked up with this Chinese girl on Facebook we started swaping ideas before you know it I had about 20 bitcoin. at then one bitcoin was about 200$ then some crazy sh** happend bitcoin went from 200$ to about 1000$.

I cashed out. dude, I was fucking rich. but as you already know 19years and millions are not a healthy combination.

I basically thought I was the next bill gate. it funny how success leads to success then to more success, then to a huge failure. me and my best friends, we were living lavish.

again some one from this same nairaland sold an eBook about domain name buying and selling to me.

I started trying to buy domain name, but wasn't making much (like 500$ per month) 500$ didn't mean much to me back then.

then I stumbled upon this white guy, he was also a domain name trader, he was teaching people how to buy and sell domain and software on flippa. although his course was expensive about 800$ I bought it, then I also bought a 1000$ course on digital marketing. after the taking those courses I lunched out on my own, I bought a bunch of domain names and about 4 softwares.

most of the domain name didn't sell well some didn't sell atall but 3 sold for a wopping some of 15000$ combined.

it is funny how lots of people say money can't change them I was one of those guys. but trust me after this second win, I was sure I was going to be up there with mark zuckarburg some day.

then something crazy happened, one of my 4 software gained like 3million active users. turned out the original owner of the software was from isereal, and his research was on point, isreali market really needed the software, but the guy was marketing and trying to monitize it the wrong way.

by accident I got it just right the software began marketing it self and before you know it a giant iseareli company asked me to sell it to them.

being young and dumb I didn't know how to monitize it so when I saw who was willing to pay, bam I sold it. I made a mistake though, I should have let them name a price or at least named an unrealistic price but silly me I asked for what I thought was a fair price 100000$.

they did what every good business men would do they bargained for a lower price 70k$.

I agreed bam this time even GOD couldn't stop me I was mega rich.

but like what my mentors always say when there is to much supply of money, it begins to flow to unnecessary places. I blew all the money, although most were on other ventures that later failed.

yea I spent good money on lavish lifestyle , but I wasn't that stupid, most of my money actually went into other businesses and investment but I was young and stupid so I paid for it .

I walked away with lot of experiential knowledge. at this point in my life I am trying to gain momentum again and GOD know that when I do, I'm never stopping, I'm not saying I have learned everything there is to learn, I'm saying that i have learned to do less stupid things than most people and I still think am going to be up there with the big boys although I don't want to be famous like them I don't want to be on any list.
quite interesting how you gave details

but I'm curious , why haven't you gone back into buying and selling of cryptocurrency ? its still a good business a lot of people are learning about it daily?

also the domain name buying and selling?

I have not made a million naira before. But I made my first 100 thousand naira at age 18, year 2013 after my ss3 waec through hustling of bottle water and lacasera in hold up and bus parks at Oshodi.

But due to some family issue and being the first born of the family, gave my mum and sibling almost all.

And now that I am an undergraduate in a federal university in Nigeria, having 10k in my account self is a miracle. But I believe I will also make my millions and be okay one day. There is time for everyone!

Gbogbo wa la ma make è!
being an undergraduate is a bonus if you can look for a need and satisfy it

Most undergraduates have freeoney to throw around from their parents

Especially ladies who get from boyfriends and parents .

if you can find a need and satisfy it you'll be a able to meet your needs.

for example when I was in school (year 2) I sold provisions in my dorm room. I discovered that most girls were too lazy to go downstairs or outside to buy basic needs so I removed out of my pocket money to buy a few things and resell.

shyness and procrastination made me not continue in subsequent academic years.
I wish I did

Those are the two things you should guard against.

My brother we aren't arguing about how solar system work here. We are talking about the business part, if it will break the market like the regular generator set. Please be open minded. Thats all I'm asking. If solar system is so good why isn't it yet incorporated in cars? Why are electric cars not solar inclined? Why do they have to overlook such free energy? or do cars run inside the house that they won't get enough sun?
there are batteries that can convert solar energy and store it up for hours for use when there is no sun.

some companies in the middle east run perpetually on solar energy.
BusinessRe: Help!!! I Mistakenly Sent N1m To A Uber Driver by generationz(f): 8:43pm On Nov 17, 2018
bunmiano:
I've been a member of Nairaland since 2012 and I'm very frequent with the business section.

I have a very serious issue that has been a pain on my neck and I will try as much as I can to summarize everything

I sent a sum of N1m to a Uber taxi driver's account number on the 20th October, 2018. This money was a part payment bill for one of my family members who is battling with a life-threatening health issues. That happened about 4 weeks ago.

This is how the whole thing happened

A friend of mine paid me a courtesy visit and when he was about leaving, I used my rider app to request a ride for him and the driver came and took him to his destination. He told my friend the estimated cost of the fare was N4,800 but my friend didn't even bother to check because he felt he probably would not lie about it.

My friend called and told me the fare was N4,800 and I requested for the Uber taxi driver's account number after which I made the payment. The next day (20th October), I needed to make a transaction of N1m to someone for a part payment bill of my family member's treatment oblivious of the fact that I actually made the payment to the Uber taxi driver's account number. This was because I added him in my beneficiary when I wanted to make the payment.

I went to the rider app to get his contact, only for me to realize he actually inflated the fare from N3,400 to N4,800 which I literally paid for. You can see he's not an honest person but I wasn't really bothered about that.

I called and pleaded to him to refund the 1m I sent to his account. At first, he acted as if he didn't receive any money but after series of calls, he later confirmed it. I sent my account details to him and he promised to refund me on Monday as it was weekend.

Monday came and the dude started acting funny. He would pick my calls and remain silent. There were times he gave the phone to a lady to talk to me. Sometimes he yelled at me to stop disturbing him, and a point, he even stopped picking my calls

I mailed Uber and narrated everything that transpired. They responded requesting for evidence to back up my claim which I provided. I took screenshots of the first (inflated fare) and second payment and attached it to my massage. They responded telling me I should exercise patience and that they will look into my issue

It's been 4 weeks now and Uber has been lackadaisical towards this issue. I have messaged them several times and they seem to be less concerned about it.
With the way Uber has been acting towards this issue, one could conclude that they're trying to cover up this guy. Someone that can easily call and resolve this issue.

They have just been acting like they're more concerned about their own pockets than customer's satisfaction. I expect them to have taken up the issue for properly investigation despite providing solid evidence.

Please everyone! I have tried and I'm already fed up. Their customer care is my last resort but they have been nonchalant despite knowing the name, vehicle type, and license plate number of someone working for them. Even the Uber driver in question has failed to refund the money and has been avoiding me.

I went to the bank recently and his account has been frozen but I haven't been able to get my money

This country is just messed up. Even the police aren't helping matters. They are demanding their own share of about 150k

Lalasticlala, please help my situation by pushing this to the front page

Below are the screenshots of everything

Christianity EtcRe: Please I Really Need Advice. Is God Calling Me To Be A Pastor. by generationz(f): 7:50pm On Nov 14, 2018
Mobilia:
Forgive me brother,
But I cut out some of your post to address a few things if I may. I hope you are being sincere and not playing around with this question...cause it's a serious one.
It's just my opinion and suggestions and you are welcome to take them as what they are...or choose to ignore them. It's ok and I won't be offended smiley

One thing I know about God is that He has a plan for all of us and He desires for us to get to the point where we will surrender and know (without a doubt) that this specific plan is what He has created us to do.
I notice that lots of young men in Nigeria (perhaps in Africa as a whole) believe that they are called to be pastors....if dealing with any position in the church.
But true be told, very few men are called to do that sacred job.
It isn't a calling where one's life can be split doing "other" jobs...(meaning a pastor on Sabbath or Sunday... and then a hustler during the week).
Oftentimes, God calls out some folks from their secular jobs to work full-time in a ministry....and being a pastor is one of them (in my opinion). I don't think any pastor can work a full-time secular job and still effectively minister to the needs of his church and surrounding community...(but that's my opinion).
Either way, I'm not gonna begin to tell you what God may have said or not have said to you (in a dream)...cause I don't know.
But also look at the fact, that He may be asking you to re-dedicate your life to Him..which may be the ultimate reason behind your dream.
You may be called to work in the ministry through a variety of ways...and not necessarily through a pastoral position. Serving God is not a "one-size-fits-all" type of thing.
But, IF God has called you to the pastoral ministry, then know for a fact that He will definitely provide for you and your family.
The scriptures tell us not to worry about all of the basic necessities cause He will provide....especially when we are doing His Will.
Fasting and praying is the absolute best way of hearing God...clearly...without outside interference.
Remember that God speaks through His Word, providence (sometimes), people--but be very careful on this one-- and the Holy Spirit's leading.
While we are to respect men in responsible positions, they are still human and NOT God...your pastor was right in saying that you need to pray to God for the answer...
On another note, people may mean well, but they could be steering you in the wrong direction with their "advice". Nairaland isn't the place to ask about such an important question. No one really knows what God may be trying to say to you or how He is trying to lead you...so remember to go to Him and He will make it plain and clear for you. But you must do your part: develop a relationship with Christ first and foremost before you start speculating on what He may be trying to ultimately be doing in your life...
Get to know Him first. He's patiently waiting on you.
That is between YOU and God...
Be blessed smiley
poster , please go over this advice again and again

it's the best advice.

You don't have to be a pastor just yet

just rededicate your life to Christ and be more prayerful , God will direct you
