Business / Re: Advice: How Do I Manage My Multiple Business by generationz(f): 4:11pm On Feb 07
Britishcoins:
Pls my fellow Nairalander, I am confused on what to do, I am into business and God has really been so faithful to me, I have 2 shops selling boutiques. Recently I want to focus on one of the shop with boutique and turn the other one into mobile phone accessories
. The person who has been managing the second one is my younger brother plus a sales boy.
Now the first problem is that he has no knowledge abt the phone accessories, the solution for it is that I have already made arrangements to a shop where he will learn the business for a month or more.
I am not married yet, I love to marry oo but I have not find her.
Second problem is how will I be able to monitor the shop, because I will be investing abt 4m in the shop.
Should I go and marry before opening the business or should I continue with my younger brother plus atleast 2 sales girl..?
Pls give me ur advice..

NB; I am sure the phone accessories will sell very well because the shop is at a good location

Hello, britishcoins, I sent you a message.

Firstly, no amount of magic will give you paper next year. You don't need to exaggerate to get quick solutions cos we have good knowledge of student pathways even for In-demand professions. Except you are switching Visa type to COS or it's like. That being said.

You should double your efforts to make more money at the moment.
Your wife can't do anything now cos the hours she is getting for work won't sustain her should she chase you out of the UK.
She needs you at the moment to survive UK bills but might have plans to deal with you when the time is right. Therefore do not relent also.
Save for that time.
Look for a pathway that will make you independent.
Look for good direct streams of COS.

MUST DO
Get a USA visa
Get a Canadian visa
Get other visas. (NOTE You will be granted these tourist visas easily from UK cos of your status)

Why do you need these Visas?
You will need them should the need arise.
If she decides kicks you out.
Fall back to Canada or USA via student route or other pathways.
All you need to do is fly into these countries with your visa, look for a school and apply for a certificate program of one year and and migrate legitimately using the various streams available for students.
Therefore do these things quietly.
Your kids deserve to have a father who can still send them stuff and stay alive.

Most importantly, Don't forget to be a good husband to your wife. Women are not always the issue.
Some women have seen shege from Nigerian men and when they get to societies that have their interest at heart. The quest for revenge sets in.

OP.
WERE YOU A GOOD HUSBAND BACK IN NIGERIA?

You said everything I would have said. Can't believe a naira land guy wrote the last part but it's true.

Its normal for black men from africa to not have received gifts

Story. Just because you haven't received anything from your women doesn't mean others have. Many men receive help and support from ladies even in Africa. These men are sweet-tongued men who can meet a lady who loves them and she loans them money to start business or supports him till he gets a job etc. Some men are just charming and they know what to tell women to make them part with their money happily.

Is it normal that no one has ever gifted me anything on special occasions? I'm talking about Valentine, birthday and Christmas. I am 29, and since I became anything close to an adult, I've never had anyone care for me enough to show me love on these special days. Not from family, not from friends.

I am currently not dating and things are really rough for me right now, but I've gifted people in the past. I know some members here will say I'm feeling entitled to the outcome of other people's efforts, but that's really not the point. I just want to experience love and feel loved no matter how small. I can't ask for much.

Having people gift you things is a big flex. I'm not even talking about people coming through for one when one needs help because that one na long story.

So, guys, is this normal? Is it very much normal that feel unloved over this? I'm really over thinking it for sure, but I can't help it.

If you notice this pattern in your life then you can break it by being a giver. If you don't have money to give you can give others through teaching, mentorship, or the most powerful which is intercessory prayers through the help of the Holy Spirit. Give words of encouragement to people even if they don't ask for it you will see people will also give you.
Like 6 vs 8 says Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

How does being a king equate to serving Mammon?
By inference, a believer should not be a politician.

Mammon is an idol same as gods of the land. You must give to ceaser what belongs to Ceasar to be a traditional ruler if you refuse then you must be ready to battle power for power till Gods power prevails.

Dsimmer:

Lol. So he shouldn't become an Oba? Lol. What's wrong in such? Wasn't David a king? They are also the custodians of cultures. So what's wrong in that?

As for Yoruba religion, you do realise that Yoruba IFA religion has similarities with Christianity in a way. First, there was Eshu who was in between the heaven and earth and was overseeing administration on earth, enforcing laws and was also taking prayers to Olodumare after an ebo sacrifice had been made. There was also Ela who was birthed by Oyigi without a man and was stated to be Olodumare's divine child as well as the "first word" of Olodumare to bring Life and clarity at the beginning of creation. He also took up the role of the high priest (Orunmila). There was Jewesun stated as Olodumare's Divine child and the lamb while we are made to know that Jewesun is the only child of Olodumare thus telling us that Olodumare has only one child, thus Jewesun and Ela are the same since Ela was also stated as the son of Olodumare. So Ela was the "word" which became Jewesun as flesh and they're the same. All these are similar to Christianity of course which states "In the beginning, there was the Word and the Word was with God and God is the Word and the Word became flesh and dwelled among us". Funny "Elah" is a Hebrew word which means God. While in Yoruba, it means "clarity".

Anyways, in continuation according to IFA, Jewesun was also stated to have abolished ebo sacrifice (fruits and animal sacrifices) by sacrificing himself as the lamb which is also similar to Christianity.

However I like how Yoruba religion made it in a way that people shouldn't be scared of Eshu because why should anyone do such? Lol. Eshu was one of the innovative creative Orishas after all. However, I don't think he should be sacrificed to, since Jewesun already abolished ebo sacrifice. IFA is indeed deep.

David was King of God's people. He also was anointed by GOD'S prophet Samuel to Lead GOD'S PEOPLE. David was also meant to be the forefather of the savior God wanted to send.

Comparing king David to this man is like comparing a Dove to a vulture.

Note: I only read your first paragraph and wrote the above. I just read the rest of the nonsense you wrote and I realized I wasted my time replying you thinking you were a confused Christian but now I know you are a phony. Never compare Jesus to ifa. Jesus is the son of The most high whom many African Traditions acknowledged as Olodumare (Most high/ The light ) but they don't do his perfect will because they are evil.

All our traditional kingdoms are fetish and entrenched in the old religions.

However when God remembers a land, he appoints men after his heart to rule the kingdoms in Spirit and Truth. Through Pastor Olaoyr, Ogbomosho has and will see the light of Christ overcome every darkness and the powers that have kept the souls of men bondage for ages.

It is a great new era for the Yoruba kingdom and by God's grace the rest of Nigeria. Hallelujah!

No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon [money, possessions, fame, status, or whatever is valued more than the Lord. Matthew 6 vs 24 to 26.

Men can be very mean and unfair to their fellow men who don't fit the mold. They use harsh words and bullying and say it's just banter and you are supposed to develop though skin and laugh like nothing is wrong. If guys call a woman fat, it can cause a commotion but they "yab" their fat friends all day and the guy will just have to laugh it off. Girls don't throw insults at themselves like that except they don't like you (either as individuals or as a group of bullies). Later men complain that no one cares about their feelings but the truth is men don't care about men's feeling until their friend becomes suicidal.

Maybe you have been abused and insulted by the men in your life for being effeminate. You might not even be gay. You are not alone in feeling like that. Some guys, it's their own father that bullies them for being effeminate there is an American comedian called Bill Burr who went through that with his own father who was a bully.

Don't let what people think of you year you down, it's fleeting. Just find a hubby you like and improve on it and get better at it and one day you will be untop. This era of social media their are so many opportunities online for young people for you to be worried about what people think of you.

My girlfriend which I thought I will at least manage to settle down with was cooking for me 2days ago and I took her phone went straight to WhatsApp and telegram to see chats. One was wooing her and she's responding normally, no iota of restrain in the chats and another was inviting her over and she said, sure, she will come.

I dropped the phone immediately , I was still thinking of where to start with her when I received a call from work and I had to leave, I message her while I was at work and asked her while she's doing all these to me, as usual she claimed they are platonic friends and nothing more.

I blocked her immediately she mention there is nothing wrong in visiting Platonic friends in open places and even at home....

This is isn't the type of woman i want.

That wasn't her first time but she always accuse me of not wanting her to have good male friends.

I'm tired of things like these, I will be 35 by September.

Initially I thought I'm getting older and I should settle down, but, will I ever meet a Woman of my choice?? Someone I can at least trust?? someone who won't be going round visiting Platonic friends, ano wan loseguard, I need a woman in my life but I think I'm giving up......

Road2Success:
Hello nairalanders,

Please I will want you all to read this. though I am not a good writer. I rented an apartment somewhere on the Lagos island. We are just 4 in the compound. When I parked into my apartment my wife came with a pregnancy but we lost the baby when she gave birth to the boy. The following year she got pregnant again, The baby also died the day she gave birth. I am not a religious person but my wife is closer to God. She has been telling me about this compound but I just don't have any reason to think or suspect anything.

Lemme tell you in my compound if one of us is working the others will lose there job. I have no reason to be suspecting anything untill I heard that one of the tenants is owning our landlord 2 years rent and our landlord didn't raise voice. In this Lagos that I know landlord don't joke with house rent. Our landlord don't bother us for rent. Sometimes I will be the one sending the house rent to him without him even asking.

I also heard that was the same thing that happened to previous occupants. They lived there without paying for many years and the landlord didnt disturb them.

I won't say our live is better in this house. We are just struggling to survive. Currently I am the only one working while others don't have a job. I am beginning to doubt if our landlord is truly a generous man as we do called him, since he don't bother us for rent.

My wife have lost two pregnancy in this house. I have been jobless many times in this house. I honestly need people opinion on this matter.

Is this house diabolic or the landlord is just a generous man

Moderators please help me move this to front page

1. Your landlord has other sources of good income hence he doesn't really care much about rent. Maybe he bought the house as a way to invest his money and has many he enjoys the rent already from.

2. There is an economic downturn so people are losing their jobs and going broke.

As for your wife's business, like I said, there is an economic downturn, things are more expensive either you guys look into cutting cost or you do a market analysis. Does your wife have competitors that provide better services? How is your wife's money management like? How have you cut back on spending since the economic downturn? How has savings been?

Nigerians should think about these types of things before going to claiming their glory is being used.
Your wife is religious and either she's right or she's just putting together the wrong patterns and playing up religious conspiracy.

So you have not done proper medical checkup as to why your kids keep passing on?

If you leave that house, no other landlord will give you such a long time to pay up. So trying praying daily for wisdom and favor.

But the boy was not kidnapped or coerced to donate his kidney, he offered to. He was the one willing to sell his kidney to highest bidder so why make him a victim? Ekweremadu is a corrupt politician that deserves to be flung in jail for stealing but that boy is no victim! He agreed to it, he's not underaged neither is he mentally unfit to decide on his own. I hope the UK authorities deports his snaky ass.

Your type will say because a 13 year old agreed to have sex with a old man, it's not rape.

Ekweremadu can't say he didn't know the law in Europe and the UK regarding trafficking and illegally acquiring kidney. The boy was questioned and when he couldn't give a proper answer, everyone was called in for questioning.
How do you know the Ekwerenmadus wouldn't have killed that boy as soon as he stepped foot in Nigeria and asked for his money? What about after care? Who will take care of him? This is why we have laws on saner climes and it's difficult to circumvent them there unlike Nigeria.

Travel / Re: What Common Things Surprised You In Other Countries that is lacking in Nigeria? by generationz(f): 12:59am On Apr 26, 2023
aboyaji:
I'll go first...

1. Cooking gas: Cooking gas is very cheap in ivory Coast. It costs an average of #330/kg of gas. So refilling a 12.5 kg cylinder should cost you #4125 at most.

2. Kerosene: kerosene costs relatively about #650/ litre in the fuel station, where the black market sells for #800/ litre.

Note : This country's oil production is very poor o. They're not even anywhere close to Naija's production.

3. Organisation: Ivory coast is very well organized that you can barely run into unorganized environment. Many areas are safely guarded by their local police officers stationed almost everywhere. You can as well make friends with the officers easily without any form of threat from them. They're very welcoming.

4. Very low violent place: People can move around as late as 10pm till dawn without the fear of harassment or violence. In fact, children play in the tarred road as late as 10pm. They have already come to terms about how safe they are in the country. People can stay up late wherever they went to without rushing back home due to nightfall. Night movements was my best !

5. Good Road network: I spent close to 7 months in ivory Coast and could barely see a road untarred. Almost every road I used was smoothly done and stretched to various cities and States. The only place my leg touched Sandy soil was in my compound because the landlord was still constructing more buildings in the site. So our compound was sandy at the moment.
Tarred road stretched into all compounds in ivory Coast. It's not the responsibility of the government to do your compound, it's yours. I was marvelled by such development though I spent most of my time in the rural area.

6. Security: Police is your friend is the Moto in ivory Coast. Really nice people. I guess I've said it somewhere before now.

6a. Theft is ALMOST uncertainty. The prepaid meter of every individual house is stationed outside the main building without burglary or iron shield. Anybody can touch it. It wasn't even stationed very high from the ground level. It went only as far as 3-4 feets high. A child of 10 can touch it too.

Our apartment is in a 2 storey building comprising of almost 33 units of one bedroom apartments. The building was built like a shopping complex. All of the prepaid meters used in this apartments are stationed outside where everyone can see and feel it. But no one steals it, likewise every other houses there.

6b. Once there was a particular theft in my ivorian friend's shop that I know of. There were 5 boys who was involved in burgling his computer and phone shop one night. But before 5am, the boys were all caught with the complete stolen items retrieved. Funny enough, my friend didn't know. He was woken up by the police to come to his shop and see the guys. And he didn't have to SETTLE THE POLICE FOR DOING THEIR JOBS grin.

7. There is constant electricity in that country. CONSTANT.
I only observed a few nightouts and those periods were understandable. They all know when the lights would go off in the week or month and have come to terms with it. Light doesn't go off intermittently as obtained in Nigeria. And throughout my stay there, I didn't pay for light bill or water. My caretaker didn't mention it to me too. I was surprised. Steady light cheesy

8. Economy: Their economy is very good. It's almost equaling to the Naira at the time I left. So, if you hear 500 CFA there, it's almost equivalent to 500 Naira. So don't do too much calculation.

8a. Minimum wage is very much respected and applied. A POS attendant over their is living a good standard life. A bar attendant earns about 20,000 CFA weekly... WEEKLY o. I mean a local bar attendant. How much more a corporate hotel or bar attendant or waiter.

8b. The money you earn can fetch you a standard living. Their money is easily made and spent too.

9. FOOD grin grin grin: Our area of specialty.

Food is over cheap compared to what's obtained in Naija. You can see someone who earns little but could afford chicken or any frozen food. Food is not part of their problems for now. Banana can go as low as 50 CFA or 50 Naira and it is not the small quantity we're talking about.

A bunch of Bananas that you can get from a roadside vendor in Naija for 800 could be gotten for 150 CFA. So you see it. Once I bought 2 Bunches of banana for 50 each, I couldn't finish them for 3 days.

9a. So sorry, vegetables can be scarcely found there my dear. I made most of my soup without vegetables. That part I didn't enjoy undecided

That's for now. Anybody can add.

OP how much is rent?_ how much did you get your one bedroom apartment and how much is two bedroom apartment?
A Nigerian lady there said rent is quite expensive.

Also, how did you deal with Language Barrier?

Pretty Sonia needed a Kidney transplant.

A 21 year old man was brought in from Lagos as the donor after matching kidneys were confirmed through a middle-man (a doctor who has been convicted with the Ekweremadus).

He was promised £7,000 pounds to sell his kidney.

At the hospital, the doctor in charge of the surgical operation interviewed the donor/victim.

One of the requirements for the surgery was that the donor can afford life-long medical care that comes with living with one kidney.

The donor/victim couldn't give assurances that he could afford life-long medical care and he wasn't briefed about the pros and cons of the process before he accepted to come to the UK.

The donor/victim walked into a police station and made a report.

Ekweremadu, his wife and the middle man doctor were arrested.

Under UK laws, organ donors are not to be paid for donating their organs. They are to do so voluntarily without charge.

The Modern Slavery Act enacted by parliament in 2015 was violated.

Ekweremadu, his wife and middle man doctor have been convicted.

They await sentencing which could be as severe has life imprisonment.

The donor/victim has been granted asylum because his safety in Nigeria cannot be guaranteed.

Pretty Sonia the sick girl has been discharged and acquitted by the court. She still hopes for a kidney donor.

The case is the first of its kind in the UK and the conviction is a landmark achievement since the enactment of the Modern Slavery Act in 2015.

We do not know the names of countless children of the poor who when fighting for their basic rights in this evil country these men created died in the process? What about the end sars victims who were shot? Those are peoples kids. What about the ones who are bedridden and forgotten from endsars protest? The ones who are forgotten in police custody after demonic officers go and raid innocent children of the poor and demand ransom?

If Ekweremadu had morals, they would have planned a good aftercare for that boy. They would have promised him much more than £7k or they would have have simply put their trust in God and kept praying. Isn't that what the pastors they bribe with their stolen wealth tell us the poor people to do while they ride around in their armoured cars with bodyguards? undecided
