Gittens? Oops. I like the guy sha.. I don't really fancy Leao, his ouput is a big question mark. I think the issue with Nico is his wages.
That said, I'm not expecting any LW in this TW. Especially as Trossard is about to sign a new contract. Maybe Leroy Sane sha.

With Jorginho's departure and Partey reluctance to sign a new contract, I think we need to add another midfielder.
I still think partey will sign. Na wide forwards and cf be dey main thing now. Leao is good, but I doubt if he can double back to defend like Arteta wants his wingers to. Sane mhmmm......

I am worried that Arteta is not getting the choice of players he wants.

Can Kepa challenge Raya? We don't want to see the kind of school boy mistakes we saw with Raya this season
honestly, with Arteta, we know there's no challenging Raya as number one, kepa go chop bench tire. Unless he decide to use him in cup games. I know he wanted Garcia but that money is too much for a second choice keeper considering how often we have been changing gk. Don't know if kepa is also his choice, but he gats work with am.

We still dey drag leg for essential signings, other clubs are getting it done faster. Chelsea don collect Gittens too. Leao have indicated he wants to leave(I'm surprised, cus he's important for milan) and bayern is at the front. Even the Nico deal nothing much is being talked about that. Kepa for 5m, not bad shaa but make dem focus on important aspects first.

You're quite right.
Heard that's how Berta does his businesses. He would widen the options, work on several deals till the last stage and then tick one that's most suitable.

That's why we're being linked to Retegui, Sesko, Gyokeres...
And at LW - Sane, Rodrigo, Leao, Gittens and Nico.

My own be say make Dem add to that midfield. A ball carrier specifically. Dowman fits the bill but he is young and only comfortable on the right.
Rodrigo and Leao won't be sold this summer by their respective clubs. Nico, nice deal if it can work out, but wages issue dey there. Sane, na old man, make he no turn another willian or sterling. Gittens, well, I have nothing to say on him for now. Let's see Max in preseason first.

Thinking Inzaghi was sacked is just too irrational. The whole thing and how fast it was, plus his fast move to Saudi, the money involved. And you still think he was sacked?. Sacked by Inter and straight to Saudi??, as if it wasn't already in his mind and he already made the decision after the ucl campaign. Well what do I know?..

From what is being played regarding Sesko and Gyokeres issue, it is clear that Arteta have submitted the names he want for the club and most of them have been evaluated. It's now left for transfer decision makers to get the players. If they dull till window closes, we will come back here and lament about how Arteta didn't sign any players

Probably. But with all the resting and all he played 2nd leg and still.

Let's assume we have everything else right, the major crux is this empty attacking depth. No game changer like Alexis. We need that even if na 2 per season. Nobody should be feeling indispensable upfront if they're not giving double figure in G and A separately. We need to learn from PSG. But Inter losing treble and getting Inzaghi sacked.....

Tgey aren't making fun. They're seeing the decline in quality over the years. In fact they don't even use Henry again. Just Sanchez and Auba is enough to use and for just these two, big decline.

Is recruitment changing that? Big NO
Is tactics changing any of that? Big NO
Is there desperate plans to make a difference? Acquisition of Sterling alone gives an answer

If we queue up better ex-players and legends to soro soke alone, you will hear there's a problem that is still ongoing-the board gets the stick for that.

But if it comes to the current manager, issues yapa.

He had no visible counter plan to PSG. Over 180mins. 1st leg home defeat should be enough to restore factory settings, but he came to play same crap approach and then we came alive in 20mins after coffin don nail. Lol.

To be absolutely sincere, i miss the era of managers that had in game counter plans, especially in UCL campaign.
Inter lost woefully cos they had no counter plan. 5-0 is historically woeful. If we were there, it won't be like that truly. But we need to do what it takes

We can't keep relying on 1st team guys that will dry out and go to Luth again. This season is lesson enough.
I can't deny the fact that Arteta sometimes doesn't get it right, and then there's this his stubbornness of sticking to what works for him even when a change might change events. And you can't also deny the fact that there are games when his in-game management pays off. That psg first leg, I believe that if Partey had started that match the result would have been different, and the second leg is the directly related to the result of the first leg. We had better scoring opportunities over 180minutes especially the second leg. If our attackers were pro-active do you think we would be having this conversation?.

The funny thing is if the team are playing well, we all praise Arteta but after going trophyless after the season, then you feel he shouldn’t be criticized? grin He who wants to be praised for good works should also accept criticism when it arises so as to do better

Lol 😂 😂 We have been a laughing stock in the eyes of rivals for a very long time. What do you think Netflix fc mean? Bottler fc? 2nd place fc? or we didn’t lose against top 6 fc? Next season fc? How about the elephant on top of the tree trolling? etc. In fact, the yoruba version for these trolling are worst.

Arteta gave a us glimpse of hope, but sadly, it’s gradually turning out to becoming the latter years of Wenger after the champions league finals. That’s why many of us are asking questions so we can get results, but we’ve been tagged as fake fans.

You don’t get respect by allowing failure to fester then give excuses to defend it every time. You gain respect by getting results. We can’t keep resting on achievements like “not losing to top 6 teams in the league for 2 season or best defensive record.” We should be building on them towards winning something tangible, and ask questions when we see lapses.

If our manager isn’t improving in areas we’ve identified for 3 seasons to be the cause of our downfall in latter half of the season, I see no reason why the fans shouldn’t question him. But you guys seem to want to build cult following around him.
Bro, the fact that rivals call you names doesn't mean you should give them more reasons to call you more names. After all that's what fanbase rivalry is all about. Na we bottle pass Liverpool?, last last they're winning titles now. And I no call anybody Fake fan, everybody get their own way of handling disappointment, but na to dey think say u dey rub am on follow fans face all because your opinion differs from theirs, that's the problem. BTW, all this our long talk aside, between Gyokeres and Sesko who do you think would fit into our system better and who's the best option?.

Fact is there are many that have supported this club longer than any of us here. Some saw Graham and Wenger, Days of Adams and co. If they speak up and criticize, that's not caricature. That's love!! It will come in different degrees. Those repping should not pretend these guys that turn up week in week out with maximum loyalty don't have feelings. Naaah

If they scream today and something happens, na still dem go scream louder when trophies enter. Fact.

How many are not seeing that as hate for the club is hilarious to me. Sincerely. 2004

21years!!!
Well no be history recount time sha. But everyone dey see moves and trusted but now they are seeing patterns repeating. Query is justified!!

As for if improvements happened from that Bayern game....nope!
The bench remained unreliable still. Yes we made semis but symptoms still persist. Game tweaking problem still persisted.

Enrique and Inzaghi are two great examples of managers that tweaked things to get results this campaign. Woh. Talk plenty abeg.

Im sha happy for the emergence of Kiwior. That's the non Starter difference from last campaign that Bayern ended.
I get your point, but I know no one who saw prime wingers up till today will just make fun of the club like that. It's OK to state the obvious and push your opinion without trying to make the club a laughing stock in the eyes of rivals, that's even worse than anything else. Giving rivals the right and points to make gest of the club. But what do I know?..
Regarding that bayern game last season, a lot was corrected from it. Even against psg, if only our attackers were clinical it would have been a different game altogether.

The actual truth is lessons are not being learnt. The top realization started in last season ucl vs Bayern. That was the game that everyone last agreed help was needed. Since that ouster, fanbase split became more defined. Then the summer came and then the January window, and it was vivid that someone was unserious.

How that suddenly made critics the haters of the club, i dunno. But in that same timeframe, rivals are putting in their work as well and that is the double blow. That's what's making all of this seem to critics that they need to be louder. But as usual, here we are. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
You don't get some of us point, we understand the need for striker but it didn't happen. And talking about bayern game last year, don't tell me you didn't notice the improvement in that area this ucl campaign?. We need a striker and with how they're handling both Sesko and Gyokeres matter, I know one of them will surely play for us. But then we need recruitment in other areas too. Criticism is essential, and highly welcomed but you check am, all those people wey dey question the club and the direction it's headed which of them dey make caricature of the matter?. Baba, personally I know sense dey for the whole talk, but na how it's been presented that makes the difference. Last last all of us want bragging rights as fans and want to see real success.

I get your angu, Timber had a good tournament but neither Saliba nor Timber is displacing any of Bastoni/ Marquinhos/ Hakimi or N. Mendes. All 4 players are terrific choices and considering they all played the finals with 3 keeping a clean sheet, gives them an added advantage. Bastoni had an overall great tournament in comparison to Saliba.

This is coming from Saliba's biggest fan.

We had a very stupid domestic run this year, but our ucl run can be taken as a positive (if the hate can allow some of us). This season was a disappointment domestically, but we can take the positives from it, a lot of teams wouldn't have finished second with the amount of injuries and red cards we got(though I can argue that Arteta and his medical team plus psychologist should share the blame for that).

A staunch Arteta supporter posted this today. Im wondering what changed
Realisation set in and the eyes are more open. Truth is we haven't been where we wanna be. But they owners love him, cus he's bringing in money and changing how the club is viewed from the past years, they see it as development and want to stick with him. I have no problem with Arteta being replaced with a better option, but since they still think that he's the right man for the job, would would we do. We can spend over 200m this summer without attracting any sections, so I expect they really do what's necessary this time and get him the players that fit the profile and not just any dicck and Tom that he or any other person mentions.

Just as Henry said, "I’m not saying it’s a disappointment, but it’s normal that people are raising questions now about what the team is doing.” we should be competing for trophies and getting to them finals steadily and the lack of that can be blamed on everyone of them involved, from the players, to the coach, to the directors and board. Questioning what the team is doing is 100% different from hate watching.(but what do i know, i'm just a delulu Arteta lover, who wants Agenda) grin grin. We were interested in isak when he was still at sociedad but nothing concrete was done because the board thought the price was too much for such a player then. Same with other signings, but somehow it's always Arteta's fault. Werey rush go carry sterling wey him life don finish, and the board approve am sharp sharp. So much bitter leaf from people wey talk say cool cool 🤐
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by germaphobe(m): 11:20pm On Jun 01, 2025
For someone who sees the signing of Calafiori as a scam and Merino too when our existing players in their position before their signing haven't been reliable in the course of a full season, that is the real definition of delusion. We all advocated for the signing of a striker and Saka deputy, but it didn't happen, so we should kill ourselves because of it or move forward with what we have?. We talk about packing defenders but when Ben white was out and if not for Timber playing through injury we would have been seeing Partey as a left back for long. Kiwior coming in for Gabriel, Calafiori giving skelly the rest he needs(even though he too was injured) But somehow it's all useless signings. We need investment in other areas doesn't mean the ones we reinforced in wasn't necessary. The only issue I have is changing goalkeepers every season.

I get you bro. But I doubt many here are dragging the club down. I have only seen people dragging Arteta and sometimes they also drag Kroenke. And you really can't blame them, after each and every disappointment, Arteta has to bear the brunt cos the buck stops at his desk.

I am one of the people who supported Arteta from the start and believed he should be given time to grow and implement the process. Has he improved the team? I will say Yes Tremendously. Did he make mistakes? Yes very many, including very costly ones. These including some of the bad signings and bad decisions made on the field. But then even highly experienced Managers make these same mistakes.

I honestly still couldn't shake off the feeling that Arsenal would have won the CL yesterday if only Arteta had done more, especially if he had made more effort on getting a good CF in January after Jesus' injury, but he thought Harvez would be injury free.

One thing is sure for all fans, we love the club 1st before any manager. Managers come and go but the club remains. At the end of last season, I thought we shouldn't gamble on bringing a new manager that might disrupt the team progress, but then Slot happened at Liverpool. It wouldn't have mattered to me if Arteta is removed now, but I know he is not going anywhere, the guy brought in lots of money for the owners last season.

So moving forward is to hope that Arteta has learned more from his mistakes and will only improve, the board will provide the fund to get the quality additions we need, and with luck not against us, we might bring in some trophies this season.
apt!!!!

The way the word delulu have been used here is actually funny to me, I remember using this same word some months back, abi years back and one of you guys almost wanted a physical fight with me.
The thing is, you guys think and believe some of us only wants to defend Arteta(well some might), but that's not true. I see things just a little differently from some of us here, Arteta isn't above criticism, but bringing pure hate into criticism isn't ideal. If he fucvks up, he suppose collect, call out his mistakes and question it but degrading a club you support because of the coach isn't right. I have gone through the pages and I respect one moniker here for how he talks about the team, you can see he isn't ok with Arteta but his criticism ends there and not dragging the club and team, but I can't say the same for you lots. Last last Arteta isn't leaving and will be here next season so why drag and kill on the matter, d disappointment was felt by everyone but the season is over and he isn't leaving. It's OK to vent about last season errors, and then look forward to the new season with optimism(even though it might be hard). Omor!!!.
