Gbadugbakun: For this Tinubu regime?
Oridinary corolla those days people used to call poor man car has now become luxury under Tinubu.
See guy, no Nigerian youth doing a 9-5 job without any extra business can afford to buy and maintain a car in this Tinubu's economy. It's almost impossible. Because even if you're earning 1m per month, you would pay house rent, feeding, other expenses, if you manage and buy can you might not be able to maintain it. That's the reality. Are cars really that expensive in Nigeria these days? If inflation and custom charges contributed to their increment, what about people charging higher for their services and increased salaries/wages? |

Starz825: Its a serious issue tbh
ev its about her ego, pride, beauty, money, her hunger for independence from a man.
Once a woman is pretty and rich and probably has a child or 2........SHE WANTS INDEPENDENCE!! Actually, it is a global phenomenon. Once educated women with thriving careers and/or businesses have max one or two children, they lock up and are open to divorce especially in secular societies. But the aspect of "Locking up" is universal across cultures and religions for educated women. She believes her biological assignment has been completed. Up next is companionship, if it makes sense, she stays. If not, she comot. |

BlueStripper: “The only place to get a good man in Lagos is on the mainland but they are BROKE"
So every "good man" living in Lagos mainland is broke? A land area of approximately 19.5 square kilometers?
Most ladies of nowadays talk as though they were raised by animals. When and where did she conduct that survey?[quote] I didn't even read that part before I knew island boys and men have deceived her. So men in Gbagada and Ikeja are poor? FESTAC men are poor? Ogudu and Surulere men are broke? las las, na broke men most women go marry after experiencing a lavish lifestyle with island men. No wonder she couldn't see good men on the island. Well deserved! |

emmaodet: Your story is not uncommon. It is similar to what is happening to billions of guys out there. I had my own fair share of women snubbing too during my early days with nothing to show.....broke. That is why i find it hard being faithful now that everywhere done stew.........if you rubbish me during my struggling days, why should i follow love during my hay days? Have come to realize it is not just a woman thing rather a Human thing. When you are nobody - family, church, pastor, girls etc all ignore you and you are invincible but when you start earning fine, they all start singing your praises. I hope the woman you Love is your mum and not one yeye girlfriend....because bro, na owo epo oooooo As you are growing, as i am growing and other men growing, please never ignore to wisely invest because if you go broke again, believe me, that coldness and invincibility, insults from women would come back again. Your money is your shield. If you go broke, it is as good as you being NAKED I've been called ugly twice by two girls during my school days (secondary school and university). One is now based in Canada, the other is in Nigeria. Their responses towards me these days differ significantly from when I was in Nigeria, especially for the one in Canada. Interestingly, I wasn't doing badly in Nigeria by all standards. The change of responses is one major reason I don't fancy relationships. The last bolded statement na why Tensazangetsu20 dey preach say it's better to be a dead man than a poor man. That boy na werey 🤣🤣🤣🤣 |

pansophist: You see how IMF is advertising generous loans to Burkina Faso since Ibrahim Traore took over, chased out the French and swore never to take loans anymore. These westerners wants us to be indebted to them. They just have to control your economy somehow. For the US to be trillions of dollars in debt, but still go wage is a result of indebting the world for their selfishness. China or Russia are not indebted to the US but infact, the US in indebted to China. If you put the pieces together, you see why they must go to war and reset everything. The one that pisses me off is how some of our "educated people" view these people. Their so-called aid and help does more harm than good to us. The EU just offered South Africa more loans (4.7BN euros) for green mumbo-jumbo energy and vaccine production. This is after a scheme by the US and EU offered the same South Africa to let go of coal ($20BN). Vietnam and Indonesia were offered the same, but I don't know if they accepted it. Aid does more harm than good and perpetuates poverty. Now see this opener by David Hundeyin: https://x.com/DavidHundeyin/status/1901661698748015029 |

pocohantas: The longterm projection when they factor in exchange rate. They can put in work now they are young and achieve more faster. There is also room for growth. It is not like banking is a career for most bankers. Not when some of us studied Food&Nutrition. We were there for the money and we can still go elsewhere for same money.
What is bad about care work? You seem to hate it a lot. I don't hate it. In fact, I never knew such a career existed until our people entered the UK en mass. The way it is depicted by them says a lot. I have nothing against it. My issues are: people who had good careers in Nigeria going into it. Those who had a high standard of living in Nigeria going into it. Nigerians in Nigeria who trump it as the best meal after sliced bread aka a care worker out-earn a banker in Nigeria. It is this one that annoys me the most. I am all for legit work, but why would someone come on Obasanjo's Internet to say a skyscraper cleaner earns more than a bank manager? Yes, they nearly killed me for opposing that notion on this forum. I understand some leaving to get back into their passion via studies. That is appropriate, and I support it. I was once like them but later realised research wasn't for me, and opted out. |

tensazangetsu20: If one can’t make it in the uk they won’t make it in the USA. The USA is way more competitive and way more harder than the uk. I knew a girl like that she was living in Poland and blamed not getting a job on racism she went to the USA and has been there for like 3 years and can’t find a job. That girl never still find work? To think her mama applied for green card on her behalf. So work authorisation isn't her problem. In such a situation, isn't Nigeria a better option? This is what I'm saying: if it gets too tough in the abroad, leverage on the education and experience to get something tangible in Nigeria. |

What if you don't eventually get the visa? Initially, I was sponsored by my parents (hard cash. Nothing was sold). Later, I got three scholarships. I lived in the school hostel where electricity, water, WiFi and gas were free and use as you like. I used the school bus. I got a job with a MNC five months before graduation. I literally lived like a king and was pampered. A scholarship is the best route to enjoy postgraduate studies in the current naira dispensation. I will advise you learn a lucrative skill or go into agric trading. I see people - literally the typical Nigerians - make millions from doing it. You start small. I hope am not overstepping boundaries but I just want to make sure Sir blackbriar and Gerrard... You have to do your research. Such will exist, but whether the professor speaks or can speak English is another one. Those professors exist in the Imperial Universities, Japan's equivalent of the Ivy League. However, your grade becomes an issue unless you have a much stronger application aside grades to present. Since you're a privately financed student, your chances are higher. Just don't expect scholarships sha from the university. You will have to slug out your scholarships from private organisations not affiliated with the university. This concerns most Imperial Universities. |

Elxandre: This is such an interesting take from you. Would Texans lambast someone from another state, say New York for speaking their mind? I don't think people in civilized countries check all these things before they engage in discourses. Arnold Schwazzeneger migrated from Austria and became a governor in America and here someone who was born less than 1000km away can't even dare criticize failings in another state. Nigeria is a mere geographical expression - Awolowo. Mind you, I've read comments from Texans who rally against those from California having a say or trying to change the systems in Texas. I've read black people who live in Texas curse fellow black people who moved from New York that want to change the status quo. |

Young Nigerians who expect their celebrities to "fight for them" are largely ignorant and naive. Do they expect someone who has danced with Sanwo to lambast Lagos? Sometimes, I wonder if I'm too old to understand these things.
BTW, the era of non-natives criticising where they don't come from has ended. If she were to be in the US, she will experience similar backlash. |

Briefly Sir, blackbriar and Gerrard I noticed something different on the style of applications for the Japanese university, seems to be different, say for instance I was researching the universities, I don't see where one can apply either on-site or via portal, could be more light and helpful for me if you guru's highlight on this please 🥺 You contact the professor who covers an area of research you are interested in. If una agree, he tells you to formally apply. Without his approval, it's difficult as you won't have a research lab to work/study in. Master degrees in Japan, especially in science and technology, are largely research based than taught based. It's similar to the US and unlike the UK. |
