tasalanoni: I just got off the phone with my toxic, feminist girlfriend after almost an hour of heated exchange bordering on this topic. I've always made it clear without equivocation that I'm not an apologist of rape or any form of sexual abuse and that It must be treated with extreme seriousness regardless of the gender of the victim or perpetrator.
Whenever a case of sexual abuse goes viral and a woman is the victim, these rabid dogs called feminists hog the space and call for the male perpetrator's head but when a man is the victim, they all look away and even make jokes about how it wasn't an abuse but willful participation and enjoyment on his part.
Even more disturbing is when a man is falsely accused and his reputation becomes desecrated, their once loud voices become muffled and you hear silly things in the line of what that oshodi Deline Dion wrote. Only a few months ago, the story made rounds of how a man molested his two little daughters in Enugu. After it turned out to be a false accusation orchestrated by the the man's witch of a wife, all the hags and whores keyboard feminists disappeared in a flash leaving the poor man's reputation in tatters. Not a line of apology was tendered, no legal redress, no legal consequences for the idiot of a wife.
Avoid feminists at all cost especially their Nigerian variants. They are mostly old, hungry, angry, deluded beings with a bloated sense of their worth. I can't wait to exit this hell of a relationship. I'm curious, what made you enter the relationship in the first place? There are way too many ways these days to detect a feminist. |

Eminado1: Fidelity Guarantee is a type of insurance that protects an organization against financial losses caused by dishonest acts of its employees.
In simple terms, it covers situations where an employee commits fraud, theft, embezzlement, or forgery that results in a financial loss to the employer. The employee is charged to court and the insurance company pays what has been stolen less what was recovered from the employee. Thank you man. I appreciate it. |

To think many women on social media defended her just as they defended the woman who cajoled her daughters to accuse their father of sexual molestation. These women don't know that it's their sons who will suffer from this culture of false accusations. But hey, I will be there to remind them. Fifteen years no too far. 2010 was fifteen years ago.
That said, southern Nigeria needs Sharia. Henceforth, I will support the enthronement of Sharia across southern Nigeria. |

If more people start this, insider fraud would reduce drastically. I've heard about this too. But I want to be sure, how does it work? Is it owned by Fidelity Bank? |

iamrealdeji: keep lying. Nigerians just say whatever suit their belief. Gulf Arab countries are far safer than your Japan and china that are filled with hoodlums and rapists and whores selling their bodies. For your information,China adopted a lot of Shariah laws but since they don't speak Arabic and they're not Muslims, people like you wouldn't know developed countries research around and utilise useful laws. Read wide. You people just hate Islam and if a Muslim does anything bad,you insult Islam whereas your people do the evils of this world. 99% on Jeffrey Epstein's files are Christians but worship Say or believe whatever you like, but Japan is safer than all Middle Eastern countries. China didn't and has never adopted Sharia. China wey women dey wear bum short dey waka for road? Have you ever lived in a Chinese dominated environment before? East Asians do not believe in Islam. A group of people who drink alcohol and eat pork will have a hard time fitting into Islam. East Asia has stringent laws, but they're not Islamic inspired. Singapore which is Chinese dominated and has indigenous Muslims who are mostly Malay is remarkably safe, yet the ethnic Chinese do not believe or convert en masse to Islam. Even their cousins in neighbouring Indonesia and Malaysia rarely convert to Islam. Then, na those in Mainland China who will adopt Sharia related laws? C'mon! |

Alcoron: In a traditionally rigorous field like law, 58 out of 146 students cannot graduate with first class, without a systematic grade inflation at play. Mind you these are very brilliant students we are talking about.
But the malignant volume of work — theoretical, practical and otherwise — demanded, often proves unsurmountable for a large percentage to achieve a first class. I'm a UI alumnus, so I know how things work there. Okay, I see. Let's see their grades when they head to law school. If the majority attain first class in LS, that means UI did a good job. |

I wonder who will employ your children when their mates are presenting with first class. Exactly! They don't know the effects of hoarding or deliberately reducing the number of first class grads. It means poorer grads because they don't qualify for trainee positions at top firms and cannot be admitted on a competitive basis at top universities. Ridiculous mentality. UNILAG, LASU, Covenant, Babcock and now UI are producing more than the usual number of first class grads. Once OAU joins, everything is complete. Yet Unizik is proud of less than 5% of its graduating class to have a first class. |
Education › Re: 58 UI Law Students Graduate With 1st Class In The 2024/2025 Academic Session by Gerrard59(m): 9:26pm On Feb 18 |
Alcoron: Criticizing Covenant or UI for mass producing first class degrees is very valid. It is statistically impossible.
This is a clear case of grade inflation, softening of marking standards or weakening of examination toughness.
Any of the big 5 universities can replicate this such feat yearly if the faculty so wishes, all they have to do is tweak one of the criteria and they would be an avalanche of first class. This would naturally result as there is an abundance of talents in these institutions.
Medicine and law don't need this weakening of standards to mass produce first class students as it weakens the traditional rigorous posturing and superhuman levels often demanded. This is not your SECONDARY SCHOOL.
If the hitherto conservative universities want to make up for their sadistic past, they should award first class degrees to truly deserving students not weakening the standards, so they can grab the headlines. It's already becoming a competition. It is becoming an unnerving trend. Why do we believe that the students aren't capable enough to deserve a first class? |

gistray: You do understand me.
For someone extremely Introverted life can be really boring sometimes. I genuinely do not even like going out... The only time I'm a bit social is when I'm high. Some years back I use to depend on Tramadool to be normal around people. As long as the conversation isn't interesting or have dept... I'm out....loud music makes me mad. I've been in Abuja for 3 years no single male friend made... 3 girlfriends though. All not but 1 aren't long term material... Unfortunately had to breakup with the food one due to long distance. Thank God my childhood friend is here if not I would have punched ✊ a hole in my wall by now due to loneliness. Even around my friends I can't properly blend in with the conversation unless I'm a bit high.... To be honest I rather be at home than be hanging out with them. But to connect and be human I need to learn how to be around people.
Omor.... Life hard Again, I perfectly understand you as I have been partly there (aside from the drug aspect), even right from undergrad. First time I went to a club, I told myself "this is nonsense. way too much noise". But you have to decide that change is inevitable, and this involves going out, starting with the gym, parks (Abuja has an abundance of such), meetings/symposiums, social clubs (I recommend Kayhikers, and if you are into running, check out Abuja Running Club), etc. Start with one, then build gradually. Try out new things/activities and places. Living in a city like Abuja and not having a reliable male companion is a bad trait on you, not the city or its male residents. You have to put yourself out. Basically, you have to ask yourself hard questions and come up with answers. Analyse yourself and write out the pros and cons of who you are, your behaviour, why you do what you do and the need for change. Another thing too, you have to begin to love yourself, as no one will love you better or first other than yourself. So earn well, eat well, exercise well, meditate well, dress well, spoil yourself etc. Do well to minimise the drug consumption and later end it. Replace them with fruits or, at best, alcoholic wine. Develop new hobbies or things that interest you. Attend weddings. Take periodic breaks from social media (including Nairaland) or reduce excessive consumption of some media content. Learn to understand that people are different, so those who you taught surpassing you does not mean you are a failure. If you like their current trajectory, nothing stops you from asking them, "bros, how you take do am? Abeg teach me" There is nothing wrong or amiss or shameful in learning from people who might be "lower in societal status" than yourself. Be willing to learn as long as the person, regardless of tribe, religion or whatever, has something valuable to teach you. I cannot believe I wrote that sh!t! I don turn into an Odukpani therapist " |

The issue is that you want to make a lot of money so you can help everybody rather than for your personal benefit. In my world, I aim to make money for myself FIRST before trying to help the world. I am a strong advocate of young men making good money to benefit themselves FIRST before others. When you have attained personal satisfaction with your money, then you can decide to help others. As for women, my rule has been simple: she has to spend on me. I cannot be the only spender. I don't see how a woman would have money yet not spend it on her man. |

Being grateful does not mean one is unambitious, but accepting that at a particular point sometime ago, you yearned for what you have now. So, more can come through strategic planning and foresight. As long as I know where I can be and I'm not there... Nothing matters. Fair enough. That is where strategic planning comes in. You plan and commence the process and be patient yet pragmatic rather than dogmatic. If I can't comfortably give every single member of my family, relatives and community a soft life... Before I buy anything I always have 4x the cost of the thing. This is a Nigerian problem. The thread about "no Nigerian can purchase a new car" got me thinking because where I am, no one forks out 6m or 10m+ yen to buy a new car. They opt for credit schemes. The belief that you must have all the money in the world before purchasing an item is majorly why most of our people get into criminal and nasty things just so they make all the money. Newsflash: you can never make all the money. Even Dangote still dey find money, and he does so by partnerships and obtaining loans for productive activities. Also, people should live within their means, and if they must make more money, they should know how to sell. Having the technical skills isn't just enough. How sellable are your skills? To what market audience? How far have you advertised your skills for the market to patronise you? What new things/innovations have you added that are worth patronising? Only a fooool will think he's made it with 10-50m networth. Travel › Re: Guys Should I Go Ahead And Sponsor Him Or Should I Not ? by Gerrard59(m): 10:59am On Feb 18 |
joebeckz: I have called my friend in Kuwait and this were her words .
Before leaving Africa she was promised a good salary, but when she arrived the contract was different and the pay was lower than what she agreed to. Because she had already travelled and even borrowed money to go, she had no real choice but to accept it. This is common where workers are shown one contract at home and another on arrival. Her employer collected her passport immediately. Even though this is illegal, it still happens a lot. Without her passport she could not leave the country and she could not change jobs.
Under the sponsorship (kafala) system, the employer controls your residency status. If they cancel it, you can instantly become illegal. Because of that she was afraid to complain even when she worked very long hours with almost no proper rest days. Sometimes her salary was delayed. Some days she worked from morning until late night. She depended completely on the employer.
She also told me her movement was controlled. Even going out into the city was scheduled by the employer, sometimes only once a month. Many workers she knows live the same way. They have been there for years and cannot easily leave because their passports are held and their visa depends on the employer. She feels trapped and says she lives like a slave because she cannot freely decide where to go or when to stop working. It has affected her mentally and emotionally.
The weather is another serious problem. During summer temperatures can go above 50°C. For people working outside like construction, security, or delivery, heat stroke and dehydration are real dangers. Even indoor domestic workers still suffer because of long hours and lack of rest.
There are also strict laws and cultural differences. Alcohol is illegal, public behaviour rules are stricter, and even social media posts criticizing authorities or arguing with employers can become legal trouble. Something normal back home may become a police matter there. If you do not speak Arabic it becomes even harder to defend yourself or solve disputes.
No matter the confirmation or promises given before travelling, it is still risky. Almost everyone my friend knows there is in similar conditions, working only under employer terms and unable to freely change jobs. Some people succeed, but many struggle silently because they cannot just leave.
If you still plan to sponsor him, make sure everything is officially verified. Use only licensed recruitment channels, never let him travel on a tourist visa to work, confirm the contract through official authorities before he leaves, ensure he keeps copies of all documents, inform family of his exact address and employer, register with his embassy immediately after arrival, and get written agreement that the employer will not keep his passport and allows job transfer if needed.
Please do not rush because of money. Sometimes what looks like an opportunity can turn into suffering if things are not properly arranged. It is better to delay and be safe than to send someone into a situation where leaving becomes difficult. Chai! East Asia is better off. Apart from Dubai and other parts of the Middle East (strictly for oil professionals), the Middle East isn't worth it for the average Black person, especially a Black woman. And that Dubai is good because it has a lot of Western influences. Sadly, there are very few places outside of Africa where Black Africans are considered to be humans or at least respected. |

UrVillageChief: You are very right my bro and @bolded, these yahoo, prostitution and ponzi invasions have even worsen the situation. Often time, we men complain that our women love money when we are the ones "spoiling" them. Average Nigerian youths no longer know how to ask ladies out, no games, no rizz as they now believe the higher bidders get the best women. We've even imported this shameful culture into Ghana and South Africa already. Over there, their local women now prefer Nigerians and while we think it's some flex, they love us because we spend like thieves. I'm not saying you shouldn't take good care of your women but it shouldn't be disproportionate. Recently, I saw someone giving his girlfriend monthly cramps allowances Just recently, one popular celebrity couldn't get a woman laid using his mouth and status as an A-list celebrity but had to lie to her that she would be getting a Lambo Now, If a whole celebrity could do such a silly thing for knacks, what then do you expect from those who don't have the money and fame he has? A girl now believes the price for her overused jar is a brand new Lamborghini, not even a Mercedes or Corolla😂😂 Now imagine the girl had asked for, let's say, one 20 or 30 million naira Benz, do you think the maga wouldn't have 'dashed' her? Yet, we complain our women are too materialistic when in actual fact, we are the ones sponsoring the lifestyles. Nowadays, it's not uncommon to see secondary school girls using phones and gadgets that are expensive enough to take their families out of poverty--all gotten as gifts from the guys they are dating yet we complain that they love money. Most of our youths are now so emasculated that they no longer have the confidence, the rizz, games and the aura needed to woo women if they don't have money and this is what explains why they struggle to get themselves the women (white women) they want when they travel abroad in the midst of people who aren't moved by the little change they think they have; a working system where women make and spend their own monies. We can do better as a people. Again, not every poor human society worships money like we do in Africa and in fact, the Southern Nigeria is by far richer than the North, yet they don't worship money and their women are not cheap (relatively) It will be extremely hard for you to hear cases of money ritual coming from the North but the south? Our parents, traditional fathers as well as religious leaders need to put in some rigorous works to change this generation's disproportionate inclination to money. Again, you are right about everything and most importantly the coloured line. To me, the present generation is technically gone, except the enthronement of Sharia or a major conflict amongst major ethnic groups. Previously, the biggest spenders were politicians, oil workers/C-suite executives and successful businessmen. But now that drugs have been normalised and the prevalence of yahoo yahoo, including the yahoo+ model, this has afforded many younger lads to have flush funds, including USD, and with greater testosterone and foreign currency, they have worsened everything. In some parts of southern Nigeria, the young men there don't believe they can make legitimate money except via diabolical and fraudulent means. Making money is good, but it should be legitimate. Our political elites have thoroughly failed the country. |

QuinQQ: I asked this specifically because I have a friend who lived in Japan and said Japanese assumed he was AA and he let them because it opened doors including his teaching English Then he looks like an AA. I have met one like that - Nigerian bred - but facial and body appearance looks like someone who was bred in the US. Japanese presume him to be an AA. But this feature is not common amongst East Africans, who also form a significant Black African population in Japan. Thus, it is easy to tell who is AA and Black African. About successful AA men rarely marrying AW. It is that racial hierarchy I mentioned, plus where they reside in the US. Also, Black men will prefer Black women. Is there another reason you think otherwise? |
Romance › Re: Russian Man Slept With Ghanaian & Kenyan Women, Secretly Recorded Them by Gerrard59(m): 10:10pm On Feb 16 |
QuinQQ: Erudite and well thought out. However, answer the following: *How would a Jap know who is AA and who is African? Very easy. Dress sense, mannerisms, accent, even walking style, facial look (Black Africans tend to be darker), height (on average African Americans are taller), body mass (they are bigger), jobs ("I work with the military" is enough), youth (they are younger as they can easily move here compared to Black Africans), economic status (the USD offers them greater spending power) etc. I listed them as there are many ways an average Japanese person would discern, as I can easily tell from the face and hairstyle. I quickly knew an AA lass from her hairstyle. I can differentiate Black Africans based on their regions and accents. *Why do white American women generally prefer black men - which is the root of racism No idea about this, as I would have to read up on it. What I am surprised by is how come White men don't marry AA women as much as AA men marry WW. *Why don't wealthy AA men marry asian women but whites overwhelmingly do? Proximity to social interactions. In some parts of the East Coast, the population of Blacks is way too low for them to compete against White men, and as explained in the racial/economic hierarchies in East Asia itself, their Asian women will prefer White men over Black men. Wealthy AA men would not want to, rightfully so, put up with such discrimination. One cannot be discriminated against by Whites in America and then be discriminated against by Asian women in the same country. Most importantly, for most well-to-do men, they prefer their women. Asian American women have done a great job competing head-on with White women for the love, attention and marriage acceptance of White men. Another one I can think of is the body mass, as they are similar to WW. Black women are on the big side. *How come AA women overwhelmingly prefer black men to white men? This one is basic demographics nau. Humans prefer people who look like them. Humans are generally tribal. *Why are some women all over the world fixated on Nigerian men? I would think of many reasons, such as: - Nigerian men know how to spend, maybe even more than (in sheer numbers) or more generously than the native men - Nigerian men are generally go-getters, so this becomes attractive if the native men aren't as ambitious/aggressive in financial pursuits as the native men. The Nigerian society has moulded men to be aggressive towards wealth generation. - Nigerians are the most populous set of Black people (game of numbers) and emigrate more, thankfully, due to the popularity of the English language. Though, we have to be very specific about who constitutes these "Nigerian men" as we have few northern men outside the country. It is somewhat easy to tell which particular ethnic group in Nigeria is domiciled in a particular foreign country. |

UrVillageChief: Bro, women generally love money and that's not even an argument but we Africans have conditioned ourselves to reason that men must always be the ones providing and any man who is not capable of doing so has no right to have the women he wants and this, my friend, is a very dangerous mindset. This is not me disparaging my people or asslicking the Whitemen but it is what it is. Most of the countries you listed there don't think this way. Yes, they love money, who doesn't? If you've been to some smaller African countries like Togo and Benin, you would be instantly hit by the sharp contrast btw these countries' ladies and Nigeria's. You would immediately notice how differently they behave towards money. India is a relatively poor country but I can tell you for free that this dude can't pull that stunt off there and get the shameful stats he got in Ghana and Kenya and this is because despite being poor, South Asian people are still guided by moral principles and don't worship money as much as we do in Africa. I can tell you that free sir.
It would have been a different case and I honestly wouldn't have been this pissed if he had lied to them about marriage to get under their skirts but dude kept saying "I'm a Russian" "my English no good" "I like you" "come with me" and that's all it took for him to enter all of them the very same day he met them. They didn't even stress him. Dude had no rizz, no games, no aura just the white skin and that's it. C'mon bro, let's stop being economical with the truth, those poor Asian countries you mentioned are poor, yes but they have values and don't worship money (relatively). It is this same money-worshipping mentality of ours that's making us commit all sort of crimes abroad just to have economic advantages. To prove my thesis, let's use Yemen, Nepal, Cambodia, India and Loas as case studies of poor countries because Nigeria is even richer than most (if not all) of them. So how often are people from these countries caught abroad engaging in vices for economic reasons compared to we Africans? Don't they need money? Are we the only people suffering or the only people who know what money is used for? Even in this our very own Nigeria, we all know ourselves. We know the very particular people that are more likely to engage in social vices such as drug-pushing, prostitution, money-laundering abroad because we all know each tribe's predisposition towards money. We know those whose cultures celebrate and worship money more than the others. Can you sleep with a Huasa girl using money as bait? YES but bro, before you can successfully do that with 10 Hausa girls, the figure would be somewhere around 1000 in the South. I'm a southerner and this is not profiling and if you call it stereotyping, well, you may be right but stereotypes are earned. The simple reason why the northern women have relatively lower tendency of getting "knacked" with money when compared to their southern counterparts is because these regions have different predisposition to money, their culture celebrates minimalist lifestyle. An average Hausa girl/man is relatively less money-conscious than their southern counterpart. There, they seldom oppress themselves with money (though they are now slowly adopting this shameful culture of worshipping money) The only reason why this Russian guy can't pull off this stunt and make this much number in Asia is the mentalities of the people and their attitude and predisposition towards money. Not every poor human society worships money like we do in Africa and that's it! I'm not saying all those Asians and the northeners I referenced don't like money or can't be bought over with money and that's the reason why I kept using the word "relatively" We simply over worship money. Immediately they saw the guy, they already assumed they had made it in life and that's exactly where our problem lies. If you have small change as a young Nigerian guy, you would understand what I'm saying better. Thanks for explaining it in-depth, as I do agree with everything you have stated. I am Igbo, and I find it surprising when many Igbo lads lampoon their women for loving money, whereas it is a cultural trait. You are also right about northerners and their disposition towards money. Just have to state that Cambodia and India are also notorious for criminal activities, but we don't hear of the former because it is not an English speaking country. India has a lot of scam activities. I think one of the reasons for our notoriety is that we are English speakers. As for Togo and Benin, well, you do have a point, but them being Francophone makes me believe they have not been exposed to such a culture, yet. I would rate northerners above them since northerners by virtue of being Nigerians speak English. Exposure to English and Western culture build/elict consumerism. To be honest, I cannot really blame the women, as men are custodians of every culture. The women just fit into it. (Un)fortunately, when you become exposed to the global consumerism culture, it becomes hard. See TikTok and IG, those are avenues to deviate their cultural beliefs/leanings. |
