Christianity EtcRe: Gospel Reached Millions In 24 Hours Through My Tattoo – Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo by Gerrard59(m): 4:27pm On Feb 01
This is the problem when the adopted religion does not conform to your native culture. In some cultures in the country, drawings on parts of the body are allowed, just as keeping a particular kind of hairstyle. That does not or should not make such cultural practices to be considered evil. The issue, I think, that traditional/cultural religious beliefs have is that they did not evolve or apply their solutions to societal problems, compared to say Christianity. In other regions of the world, they adopted new things from other regions while maintaining or evolving their native cultural practices without changing their entire religious beliefs.

Yes! Nairaland is a microcosm of the average Nigerian. In fact, Facebook is a strong contender to deeply understand how the average Nigerian from all walks of life reasons.

Those on TwitterNG and especially Reddit believe Nigeria starts from Lagos and ends up at Abuja. The ignorance is befuddling.

Yeah, the average Nairaland user is more intelligent than the average Twitter (X) user and I can prove it.

Post a topic on Nairaland and you’ll see different schools of thought, critical thinking, and multiple opposing opinions.

Post the same topic on Twitter and all you get are emotional reactions, threats, and doxxing.

Let a popular person post something on Nairaland and you’ll get plenty of opposing views and debate. Let the same popular person post on Twitter and everyone just agrees with them. If you disagree, the poster and their followers get angry, insult you, and block you.

There are too many low-IQ people acting intelligent on X simply because they have access to Google and ChatGPT, but they can’t back up their arguments with real experience or solid reasoning.

Nairaland wins on original ideas, strong arguments, free speech, and people who are actually willing to debate intellectually. That’s why people who hate debate, disagreement, and opposing opinions never last on Nairaland.
Agreed. It's why I was never in support of the Block feature on Nairaland. Blocking the person simply because you disagree with the post means you are a poor debater and largely intolerant even when the opposing party presents a superior argument.

What actually amuses me is how those on TwitterNG mock Facebook users and crown themselves as very intelligent. grin TwitterNG folks have a god like mentality thanks to its global usage and monetisation.

Delta Igbos don't see themselves as core Igbos. I know some would protest.

Do you know parts of Lagos were under the Benin empire centuries ago. Though Yoruba speaking, their loyalty is the Benin.

When the Ooni of Ife was in Lagos for a meeting some years back and the Oba of Lagos present, the latter gave him a rather cold handshake while sitting and the Ooni standing up. It showed where his loyalty lay.

Yes, these are Yoruba speaking people claiming they are descended from the Benin Empire and Yorubas are fine with it.
You've stated that you haven't been to anywhere East of the Niger. So, how did you know that Delta Igbos don't see themselves as "core Igbos"? Who are "core Igbos"?

All of a sudden, Canada needs to be balkanized
E go reach everybody. When the US was destabilising countries far and wide, the mining industry in Canada benefited immensely.

In all, though, I am not fazed by the recent bromance some of these countries have with China. Let's see between now and the end of this decade. These were the same countries which lambasted China, banned its goods, seized its companies and arrested its executives.

Suddenly, everybody wants to be friends with Xi? What changed? I wonder why Italy and Greece never go Beijing yet. Shakara eh!

1 bedroom in Ketu is a minimum of 1 million for very very small room and living room. Something much better with pop is around 1.3 million. My 2 bedroom is 1.65 million in Ketu, old building no pretty features. If you want exceedingly beautiful ones, prepare 2 million naira. Etc.

I checked with agents online last week for 2 bedroom in Osapa London, imagine prices of presentable ones is from 6.5 million naira. I said nonsense.
The prices are interesting. So, what kinds of jobs and businesses do these tenants engage in?

Outside of acs, I don't think there is really any load that uses energy like that.

It is for Nigerians to condition themselves to stop using acs IMHO.
We're in the tropics. Controlled weather will affect our economy positively. Lee Kuan Yew said the same about Singapore.

From experience, any Nigerian abroad who wants to relocate to Nigeria will find it hard to live without constant electricity.

Haaaaaa!!!!!!!

This is a serious breach of security.
Have said it before that what the US will use to attack China is not direct weapons rather sanctions which will make citizens to compromise and start bending for crumbs in dollars.
Countries like Russia and China, it is foolery to attack them directly, a better approach is 50 years heavy sanctions like Cuba while heavily bribing top officials to turn or do nothing like Syria.
If they can bribe to the upper echelon of China like this, imagine what they are doing in Iran and Russia.
Not only will they be bribing top officials, they will also be pressuring the top officials to promote CIA sleeper cells to critical positions like they just did
.
So if Iran, China or Russia are banking on the structure or line of command, they will be surprised that over 50% of the officers in line of command are already double agents and this is what Iran is battling within.
Killing top officials and loyalist to the supreme leader in the first attack will leave the Ayatollah in a position of confusion because you can't even totally trust those you want to promote to critical positions during attacks without promoting double agents
But what kind of bribe is worth it to sell your country's secrets to its foe? Especially when your country is largely homogeneous and prosperous?

Humans are something else...

Maybe it's time to ban CCP officials' children from studying in the West. Highest outside China and Hong Kong should be Japan and Singapore.

If our leaders are doing well with economy, then we will all be able to pay for band A even A+. Nigerians are very hard working people. You don't need to be told, but bad leadership erodes the gains of our hard work. Let the leaders go to work, improve economy and purchasing power and leave d rest for hardworking Nigerians
Hard working but not productive enough. Washing clothes with hands is hard work, ditto using the washing machine. However, one is more productive than the other.

you are so right . I get 24 hours and I really do not see the need . Half of the time no one is at home and it's expensive. Bought 1000 units mid November for about 210k and I have 301 units left. That's about 400 units a month . Wouldn't Mind if we are downgraded. 12 hours a day is more than enough. Make them just dey bring am for evening to next morning. But the reality is that anybody who hasn't experienced constant electricity won't understand.
Then, why not put off those devices when you aren't around and power them when you are at home? Maximum of six hours won't degrade their quality.

If you ask for a degrade, then it means you don't have the finances (I don't mean any insult here) to sustain constant electricity or you're not using it for something useful.

It's some selected areas. Why can't they make it general, let the whole country have stable electricity like other African countries? Why must it be some selected areas.

In Nigeria, once something is not affecting you, it will look like others ain't being affected. That mindset of as far it is not affecting me, I don't care is what is making this country not to move forward.

If you're enjoying stable electricity, remember that many others are not even seeing light. They live in black out year in year out. Let's canvas for a country that should have stable electricity all round, not just some selected areas.

In this same Africa, even villages in many African countries have stable power. Why is Nigeria always the black goat in everything?

Nigeria is still a zoo and it's cursed for life if you ask me.
Truth is: constant electricity is expensive. The economy isn't growing because of a lack of investment and poor productivity.

Those African countries with constant electricity have very high electricity rates. Ghanaians pay a lot for electricity. Maybe this means the Ghanaian economy is more productive than ours or their natural resources vis-a-vis population makes them buoyant enough. But then, Ghana is a perpetual IMF debtor.

Azazyel:
Look I don't care about tinubu or any other contestant. Hope you know that constant power supply is expensive. Are most Nigerians willing to pay more for quality power supply? I can tell you without mincing words that many places in Lagos right now enjoy close to 24hrs light but they are paying more. In my area, we enjoy at least 20hrs light daily cos we are on band A and we recharge lots of units cos of the constant light and sometimes I even have to turn off power just to conserve units. Even areas on band B here enjoy at least 15hrs light so what are you talking about? Something happened at Ajah recently. Some of the residents marched to EKEDC office demanding to be downgraded from band A and B cos they were spending so much on electricity. Their prayers were answered and they were downgraded. Some to band C, D and E. Do you know how many places have been downgraded last year? Go to advanced countries like the US and see whether electricity is cheap then you'll understand. If you need your feeder to be upgraded, raise the discussion amongst people in charge of your area and march there to demand an upgrade but just get ready to pay more. Simple! This is not a tinubu issue. Nobody send your candidate to lose election
This means that many Nigerians are too poor to afford constant electricity. In return, it means they have low productivity since what they do for a living doesn't provide them the capital to pay for constant electricity. Furthermore, it means they don't have the intellectual capacity to come up with means/ideas/skills that would increase their incomes.

So, it's an IQ problem then. We're gradually going somewhere.

Naija men don’t like taking care of themselves. This man used to be the heartthrob of every Gen X and Boomer female. See him today looking average due to lack of thorough grooming.

The daughter has a strong face. It happens with females who have handsome fathers. Masculine features don’t go well on women. Abeg, another pastor wedding. I can imagine how boring the union becomes because the man focuses more on God (and knacking his sheep) than learning ways to pleasure his wife. I don’t envy any of the parties.
So what do you recommend as grooming tips for the average Nigerian man? Let's remember that the groom here is from a well-to-do family.

Not holding anything against UI or other schools which made the list, but of the trio academic institutions ranking, the Times Higher Education is the easiest to "game" and and an institution will see itself rise up the ranking ladder.

QS, which can also be gamed but not like Times, and ARWU (way better, the oldest of the trio and meritocratic) are the best.
RomanceRe: Reality Every Guy Need To Know ( STRICTLY REDPILL) ... by Gerrard59(m): 7:43am On Jan 25
Pukkalolo:
The funny thing is, most guys think this kind of incident only happens in Nollywood movies.

It's pathetic, and I genuinely feel sorry for the previous guy in this story who spent millions doing a visa for her. If only he had understood the true nature of women.

That bolded part caught my attention: you said you pity the new man and that he better watch his back.

Well, the only reason he needs to watch his back is if he’s also spending millions on her like her ex did. But if he’s spending little or nothing to keep her around, then he has nothing to worry about.

Most men think women are evil or bad people. That’s not true. Women are simply following their feminine nature. The real problem is that many men are not living according to their true masculine nature.

Look, God designed male-female sexual dynamics a certain way. His plan is for men and women is... to desire each other, mate, and multiply.

As a man, you will meet two types of women:

1. The woman who has genuine, raw desire for you.
2. The woman who does not.

There's nothing in-between.

Here’s the hard truth: your desire for her doesn’t matter nearly as much as her desire for you.

It’s funny, and sad… how most men foolishly believe that if they really want a woman, they can use money and financial provision to make her desire them. That’s completely wrong. That’s trying to cheat God’s design for sexual attraction. And when you try to cheat the system, you pay the price… usually in the form of her cheating, exploiting you, or dumping you.

If a woman has no genuine raw desire for you, but you still commit to her thinking your money will keep her, here are the three possible outcomes:

1. She uses you until she gets what she wants (money, business setup, visa, property, etc.), then dumps you immediately. Example: the lady who got her UK visa,
Here’s the truth: when a woman has no real desire for a man, having sex with him feels disgusting to her deep down. It feels like eating bitterleaf or drinking strong agbo when you’re sick. She squeezes her face inside, even if she’s smiling outside.

But women are masters at pretending. She’ll fake enjoyment in bed just to keep accessing your money. Then, to satisfy her real sexual needs, she’ll cheat with men she genuinely desires.

Look at some recent Nigerian celebrity breakups:
- Ciara Chapman divorcing Sabinus
- AY Makun splitting with his wife Mabel
- Regina Daniels and Ned Nwoko separation.

These women are all very beautiful and attractive. But
If I'm not mistaken, Sabinus was dating the lady before he "blow". Moreover, he has been grinding and behind the scenes for other then reigning celebrities in the region like Duncan Mighty and Nigga Raw. AY has always been accused of being a notorious cheat, which he should have tackled with polygamy considering his cultural origins. Basket Mouth also got divorced. Where am I getting to? I don't really think it's a geninue desire thing, which is an essential factor in relationships/friendships, especially in the long term, but life changes whether in physical appearance, finances or ideologies.

Today's women have drastically changed, whether for the good, bad or ugly.

Reading through this thread again with FRESH EYES, I can see that many Nigerians from the upper class...or upper middle-class with good jobs and businesses can't come to grips with the REALITY that Nigeria has become POORER in the last decade or so.

They can't accept the massive destruction of wealth and living standards. Many of them have been forced to MIGRATE out of Nigeria and generally feel humiliated by that flight.

And most take it out on "the White Man", they HATE the countries that they've run to for survival. And most importantly, they want to return to Nigeria and back to the SOCIO-ECONOMIC positions they lost. That's the gist of the regret about 30 million naira...It’s a huge amount in Nigerian terms and it bestows a lot of social capital.

It's easy to notice that those from poorer Nigerian backgrounds are much happier with migration. grin Like I said, fresh eyes.

In fact one of the bitter pills that the upper class hate most is that they have to rub shoulders with LOWER CLASS Nigerians abroad. And it jells with my own experience and vibes when I encounter such people in the West grin. They HATE the happiness of their former slaves. I know I've told the story of how a group of such people reacted when I told them I paid my own university fees in the USA in cash without taking a loan. I low key feared for my life that day.... sad

It's a tough problem. It's time for ALL developed countries to close their doors to immigration so that Black Africans can LEARN to build their own

Kudos to all contributors. 👏 Very enlightening.

Good Luck to Nigerians.
