Makaveli217: Why I said don't take your wife aboard is that some nigeria women are very shallow and easy to deceive, even if you marry right, after knowing the girl and her family for years, the toxic women over there will corrupt her.
Even in our local churches where couple have lived peacefully for decades, once they relocate aboard, the woman will turn overnight, turn the kids against the man, even if that man have never raised his voice on her, matured man will be reduced to dust.
Sometimes I wonder why our women here in nigeria are very easy to deceive, if you check, nigerian men are not the only one relocating with their wives, men from other countries and even africa relocate on daily basis, but hardly will you hear their women turn toxic and abusive over night, it's always nigeria women. Why? You don't consume their media content as much as you consume Nigerian content. When was the last time you vigorously consumed Kenyan or Zimbabwean daily media content as you do with Nigerian? Do you understand their slang and languages? So, why do you expect to hear or read tales from other African countries? When was the last time you even kept up with basic Ghanaian news articles? |

Build yourseld from Nigeria (Start your Bsc), most of our federal Universities are well respected abroad. Opportunities are always there, dont be in a haste. Your present high school achievements can only open doors for you very quickly if you are not avoiding american schools because that is where you can get a full funding in undergraduate engineering with your present credentials. Yes, the best place for a Black scholar migrant outside Africa is the US. However, OP can obtain full funding scholarships for undergrad studies in non-English speaking countries. However, he does not want to study in another language other than English. |

tensazangetsu20: Chilean universities are expensive and to get into a Chilean university for undergraduate studies you have to take the PAES which is the equivalent of jamb here in Chile and chemical engineering is one of the most competitive courses up there with medicine and mining engineering. Also Brazil has a similar entrance exam for their universities. OP is interested in Comp Sci or Mech Engr. His chances are higher with Maths or Physics. The math score on his SAT is almost perfect! Private uni in Nigeria (good ones) is the best option. |

No other nation, not even China, comes close. What you wrote is only happening in your dreams This is very correct. Even EU companies are jostling to establish in the US. The US market is way too tempting to overlook. EU's problems remain its persistently high taxes, laissez-faire approach to work when workaholic Chinese and Vietnamese are available, and over-regulation. The US can thrive and compete favourably against China without the EU. The EU cannot. |

I don't want to be harsh because I was once as young as you are, but I was never as blindly optimistic and somewhat ignorant as you are.
The issue is your WASSCE results, as your SAT is pretty good. English taught programs at the undergraduate level are few and highly competitive in Europe, so your decision not to study in the native language already puts you at a disadvantage compared to your competitors. You should consider Eastern European countries, but note that scholarships will be highly competitive, as you are primarily interested in English-taught programs. An alternative will be to learn Spanish (easier for an English speaker to learn than most Eastern/Northern European languages) and target Chilean/Argentinian universities. If you could learn Portuguese, target Brazil. Those are the places your SAT scores can entice admission officers as you are competing against other Africans, Chinese and Indians to get a foot into Europe. Singapore/Malaysia offer English taught programs, but your WASSCE grades is the problem.
The best alternative is to target top private universities in Nigeria: obtain a first class and gun for scholarships/sponsorships into Anglophone countries, or anywhere else full funding comes through. Scholarships at the undergraduate level are always competitive.
BTW, to maximise your chances, opt for Mathematics or Physics rather than Computer Science and Mech Engr. |

This is where Caribbean and African Americans are way better off than Black Africans - the low rate of rituals or so-called non-"use" of body parts of women. How can a society thrive and function when one party believes they will become rich when they use the body parts of the other party?
Some states need thorough cleansing. It is in the same Osun state I read from another Nlder who narrated how Yahoo boys own barbing and hair saloons so they have a ready supply of people's hair they can use for ritual purposes. The same Osun was where a prominent owner of a hotel was neck-deep into rituals to the extent his hotel was involved in waylaying guests and slaughtering them for ritual purposes.
How can such a society ever thrive?! Yet our people trump the existence and efficacy of rituals, rather than campaign against them. How do you raise families with peace of mind in such a society? |

Rictech: Everything (Winter & Summer) is extreme here, or so they say. Fukuoka is a coastal city, and the sea wind blows from across the Pacific. I stand to be corrected, but I don’t think there are manufacturing jobs here, or maybe they don't employ students. The part-time jobs students do here are cashier positions at convenience stores, big shopping malls, etc. Other jobs include mail sorting/logistics, and working in hotels. Please, if you have links for part-time programming jobs, kindly share it because I have been searching. Check Townwork, Hello Work, LinkedIn, Indeed Japan etc. The Thing with your area is that the jobs there will require a higher than usual Japanese proficiency level compared to the Tokyo area. But the good aspect is that you are forced to learn the language quickly. I don't think manufacturing jobs employ students on a part-time basis, and moreover, they now have applicants with a special visa status to employ, and they prefer those guys over folks with an Engineer/Specialist in Humanities visa. |

This means there will be or there are a lot of single mothers/women in Owerri, not necessarily as a result of waywardness, but the rampant killing of young men in the city. I wonder how male students in tertiary institutions in the city, especially FUTO, cope.
This is why the "if you have money in Nigeria, you will enjoy the country/life" doesn't move me. How can you enjoy life as a young man in a city where the security personnel loathe your kind of person?
The male elites in Imo are thoroughly incompetent, just like their counterparts elsewhere in the country. |

The part-time job I’m doing now always clashes with my school schedule because it’s an 8–5 and mostly on weekdays. Today’s cold was terrible, and we haven’t even entered winter yet. Romance › Re: “my Husband Is The Provider. I Only Support. My Money Is For Whatever I Like.” by Gerrard59(m): 5:15pm On Dec 03, 2025 |
franchasofficia: listen to the op. The married women you know that you think are supporting their husbands, if you go and check their support, it's almost equal to nothing. A woman that earn say 1.5milion naira monthly in Nigeria and only contributes 300k/400k of that 1.5million is not making any contribution, she is just being smart so that she can claim to be a supportive wife as bragging right in future. Most men that earn 1.5million naira monthly hardly have savings all because they spend all on family, relatives, community development, Church, which sometimes makes me wonder where women's money usually go to? Check most successful or rich ladies, they don't do any project in their parents community, they don't do in their husbands community, they don't contribute much to Church projects aside the compulsory women association contributions/levies, she doesn't assist her husband's relatives, she doesn't assist her extended relatives, only parents and maybe siblings, she doesn't assist her friends, old classmates, course mates, struggling former colleagues, she never joins bereaved friend's support groups for fundraising, she doesn't give her side boyfriend money she rather collects from him still...but a man at the same financial level with her does the following:
Funds his girlfriend/fiance/wife Carries his family financial burden 100% Helps both immediate and extended relatives. Helps his kindred Do community projects to make life easier for his community
Does same for his wife's community Help his wife's parents, siblings financially
Carries Church financial burdens Carries estate security burden Helps old time classmates, course mates and even struggling former colleagues Sponsors his side chick(s) lol Involves in most friends, colleagues, past colleagues, old school association fundraising and financial issues. Now I always wonder, what do women use their moneys to do? Is this peculiar to Igbos or Nigerians in general? I think our men, especially when they have money, just want to be munificent. Or maybe men in general are more generous than women. Women's money go into the usual: clothes, shoes, travelling out (esp for those in the abroad), eating out, jewellery, bags, makeup kits, sex t.oys and obviously hidden investments, a few of which she might even forget, especially if e plenty. Honestly, I usually get confused about this cos despite not doing much visible financial expenses, they are always broke even as high incom earners, ire oh Please define "broke" in this context? |
