JESHAL007:Are you for real? This arrangement cannot work in today's world o ![]() |
pocohantas:Again, I did not bother to look at that aspect because it does not make sense to me. |
emmaodet:To be fair, having a home-maker in a wife as a man is a good thing. However, in today's world, the homemakers can make or do make a lot of money. And as Poco has stated, any woman who contributes financially will want to see the man engage in home chores, whether he likes it or not. So, your scenario of men handling the entire finances and later encountering financial difficulties while their wives keep theirs does not really work well in today's world. Yet at the same time, these men don't want to engage in home chores. See why I said it is a woman's world? The best ways to tackle it are to aggressively increase one's sources of income, have fewer children, take up fewer in-law and immediate family responsibilities, stay physically fit, and spend FIRST on oneself. |
LordReed:So Kamala, who did not do well in the primaries, is the qualified candidate? ![]() Thankfully, she lost woefully as envisaged. |
God1000:So we agree that the US can have a woman president. May the best woman win. |
Just because someone is a woman does not entitle the person to become the president. You contest. If you win, good. You lose? Try again. The problem with Ndi lovey-dovey is that they believe there should be quotas for positions, or rather, they believe in the equality of outcomes rather than the equality of opportunities. There is no rule that mandates that a woman must be the US' president. It is not a gendered role. Contest it out by what you can do vs your opponent, not what is in between your legs! |
pocohantas:I thought about it, and it sounds like a fair arrangement. It works well. |
wellmax:Wow! Na wetin I dey talk be this. So, what does she spend her money on? |
pocohantas:Sharing bills when he does not want to partake in chores does not make sense to me. That is why I did not focus on the aspect. But so far, many married men on the thread have made it seem like the woman's money is solely hers, which does not sit well with me. Fine, the man takes 100% financial responsibility. The woman works/runs a thriving business and makes good money. What does she use that money for? Who and who does she spend it on? |
Blitzking:This is much better. Earlier ones made it look like the man just took a total role to contribute 100% in an age of gEnDeR eQuAlitY But married men in Nigeria dey try o |
grandiose4ever:lol ![]() I am unmarried, but I understand the reason you asked, and the bolded part concerns me. If the man takes up the full financial responsibility of the family, what does the woman use her money for? Why work and earn when it is not spent on the family? |
chido20:You are a Nigerian, why not start the business in the environment that you know better? Even if it is just starting small to learn the ropes, commence it in Nigeria, build a formidable structure around it, before thinking of diversifying into other African countries. And aside from a few countries, where would you see the replica market as Nigeria? Most of these countries have the population of Lagos or less. Meanwhile, Lagos is one state in the country. It is funny how you want respondents to recommend a "good" African country without mentioning the kind of business. |
JESHAL007:The reason I say it is a woman's world. You forget using sex t.oys to satisfy herself before and inside marriage. How can a man compete with a 7 - 10 inch d!ldo?! How? From where to where? |
JESHAL007:I watched a BBC clip where the guest lamented that marriage rates have plunged because in the past 10 - 15 years, men have deliberately avoided getting married due to the divorce laws, which affect men more than women. While listening to the guest, I remember a popular Nairalander - Sagamite https://www.nairaland.com/sagamite - has been preaching for years. Everything he predicted/complained about/stated is showing itself. As a result, divorce rates have dwindled simply because men aren't marrying. Rather, they perform a "live-in aka cohabitation" system with women. With the high cost of living, this has seen fertility rates have nosedived as well. The West really has a lot of work to do regarding raising its marriage and fertility rates. In East Asia, women would rather remain single for life. The main cause here is women's economic empowerment. Many academics and policymakers wouldn't want to accept it, but women's economic empowerment has meant men aren't as useful to women as they (men) were. This is not to say that women's economic empowerment is bad, but this is a major side effect. Africa, certain parts of Asia and the Middle east are the last bastions of decent masculinity and patriarchy. Sadly, the simping culture is creeping up on our young men. I've seen university boys sacrifice their tuition fees for birthdays of women, do other stupid things as vagina worshippers etc. One of the reasons why it hasn't gain much strong footing here is that men, on a general aren't earning much (weak economy), so women on average (who earn much lower than their men who also earn poorly) have to show traits of submission. This is because women in those places don't have the same economic empowerment as men, and some of their cultural practices are so enshrined in their countries/communities. It is a catch-22 situation: whether to empower women, but have a scenario like the West or maintain the status-quo. |
JESHAL007:This is so true. Yet at the same time, the women withhold sex from their husbands with the popular arrogant question: "Is sex food?" But then, na mumu man fit get that kind of question. I bless God for the Internet in revealing how most women think and plan their lives. Fifteen years ago, I thought all women were angelic and could do no harm. The last two years have revealed a lot, and many yet-to-be married should conduct deep research on their kind of women they associate with, have sex with and marry. emmaodet:This can be avoided provided the man does his research very well, including intentionally avoiding certain kinds of women. It is the reason I gbadu Fulani men. I consider them the true Alpha Males in Nigeria. It is not a crime. Don't let anyone gaslight you or demonize you for having a side chick outside marriage. While the bold is largely true, many men should be discerning of the pussy they shook their preek into. Some pussies come with problems. Most importantly, except the man is unbelievably liquid/or the religion/culture permits, endeavour not to have another child outside. |
Nchenches:Igbos have a say, problem They keep mute, problem So, what should they do? |
Nchenches:Middle Belters are the most affected, so why should others push it for them? Already, APC lots are blaming Igbos for the expose. In Nigeria, it is dangerous for an Igbo person to have a say on certain national topics. So, allow the affected parties to air their grievances. The next thing we would read is that Igbos want to take over their lands. As far as I am concerned, after the Civil War, Igbos should stay off national issues unless they directly affect us. |
ariesbull:I think it is cultural - freedom. Igbos generally have this indomitable feature of being free to say and do whatever they like. Many ethnic groups have limitations to: how, when, what and where one says or does something. |

Kelechi009:That is where self-criticism and principles come in. I hate dishonesty. The ability to accept criticism and full responsibility. These people lack it. I believe that many leftists stick to their guns because even when they found out the truth. Admitting the truth would cost them the benefits they receive and the individuals they support. This is a strong point. From what I observed before COVID was to earn money independently and outside public control/influence. For instance, this means don't sell directly to consumers because they initiate their cancel culture towards the company. That was one of the major reasons many couldn't call out their excesses or ideologies. Also, it formed my outlook towards living in a place where woke culture does not move a needle. They cannot dictate to a company in China to sack an employee, but they can do so in Canada. Many people hid their workplaces so they don't get called out for expressing their opinion. That is my greatest grievance with these lots - they are against people expressing their opinions. They don't like to be questioned. Here: https://www.nairaland.com/5833204/being-black-berlin-germany By DanielHouston, he started well by narrating his experiences as a Black man in Germany, but along the line, he believed his opinions are supreme and attacked others' opinions even though they reside in the same country. He wanted everyone to toe his line, but I protested that you cannot tell commentators to avoid your thread when it is not in the Diary Section. People have the right to air their opinions even if you don't like them. He refused and requested the thread be deleted! Can you imagine their reasoning? They are worse than those they criticise. They are hypocrites! Additionally, it is good to be financially independent outside the system to fight these people. This is where I praise Elon Musk and thank God for Donald Trump's re-election. As we rightfully predicted, the winner would determine the world's cultural outlook for the next four years. So far, the world has been healing. I hope JD Vance contests when it is time, and wins too. Being a leftist means Anti-men as well, which is an integral part of the F movement. So that one too. This is true too. To be a feminist means to hate men. We have them on this forum. They abhor men and believe every man is evil (excluding their fathers, brothers and sons o). The belief system is: all men are bad. All women are good. Women can never be wrong. C'mon! That is a lopsided belief system. I read their posts when they realise a woman can be evil and smile. So, you mean a woman can do no wrong? On Twitter, some even throw their sons and fathers in the gutter to join the bandwagon. What I see in the future is how their daughters will be brainwashed to hate men and their daughters' inability to get/stay married or form healthy relationships. Already, they are complaining about the scarcity of husbands in Atlanta, where they are probably more homo men than straight men. Meanwhile, the same women are the biggest supporters of homosexual men, aka, Ndi James Brown and Bobrisky. The ntoor in the next ten years would be televised! ![]() |
Cleanmouth:Sweden has more bomb explosions than Colombia o. Denmark realised it early and initiated actions. Lovey dovey always fail. I'd better enjoy what South Africa has to offer now because 20 years from now will be different. |
Dogalmighty17:Thank you. Some who knows history. Good luck to South Africans and the entire Southern Africa region. |
Ndi lovey-dovey Ndi all women are good and all men are bad. Ndi let's support homosexuals, but complain about the scarcity of husbands. We are here to say ntor and gloat! ![]() |
Morenikeji090:Yes, train break down happens, but this is not the first time this has happened. In such an insecurity prone area, spare trains should be kept on standby. That is how societies improve. Take full responsibility for your actions and improve. |
Kelechi009:I am even surprised how I have not been consumed by it (I was a self-styled feminist during my early days on NL). I think it is upbringing and a discerning attitude, plus self-criticism. I am open to criticism and take full responsibility for my actions. I respect numbers and understand basic biology and economics. The bold are attributes that the so-called lovey-dovey folks don't adhere to. They are not open to criticism. They believe their way or the highway. They disregard basic biological and economic facts. As hypocrites, they claim to support humans' right to choose, but oppose the choices when they are not in their favour. They are dishonest, goal shifters and hypocrites. They believe na dem holy pass. I dislike dishonest people. I decided to opt out when they maligned Trump during his ascendancy to the White House in his first tenure. Most striking was their opposition to basic economic facts that the gender pay gap does not exist. I was stunned because basic biology, human evolution and economics support the basis for men to earn on average than women. So, why should supposedly learned people oppose such facts? Oh! They support open borders but would never want to live with Fulani herdsmen/terrorists. They love freebies, but not with their money. They believe they are perfect, whereas humans are fallible. And oh! They never accept that they are wrong. I forgot sef, they support debauchery but are against the ills it brings to the society. They never accept that certain practices, when prevalent in society do more harm than good. Another one, they believe women are perfect beings, and all men are bad. Ntor to them! |
Unlimitedlucky:You use the Nigerian one. You are not in Japan, you are not Japanese, nor do you speak/write/understand Japanese. They expect international students to return to their home countries at a certain point. You will get this question from almost every Japanese person you converse with, including recruiters. "When do you plan to return to your home country?" Or paraphrased as "you learn this and that, so you become a leader in the field in your home country". From my observations, they don't expect foreigners, especially Africans, to live in Japan for a long time. It might be different for other East Asians or Southeast Asians. So use the Nigerian case studies. 2. Do you think is wise applying for multiple schools or just apply for just a school and stay on it? Considering application feeIf you have a strong application vis-à-vis the program you are applying, the calibre of the professor and school, you can stick to one. One way to know how strong your application is: compare it to people you know who applied to institutions in the West. However, if you have enough funds and know the competition is stiff or you want to be almost certain you get admitted, then you can go for more than one application. I applied to two schools and got admitted, then chose the higher-ranked university. 3. Emphasis has been on getting school outside the Tokyo but I would appreciate some right direction on areas which one has little bit considerably international friendly and helpful too.If you have sufficient funding or a fully backed scholarship, stick to Tokyo and its metropolitan areas, especially as you stated - international friendliness. However, living in Tokyo does not provide one with a do-or-die scenario to learn the language, as bilinguals are abundant there. Also, if you wish to apply for PR/naturalisation, the process is faster outside Tokyo. Nevertheless, Tokyo offers one the best economic opportunities in terms of jobs and salaries. |
As a follow-up post to the previous one, the elites in every country have the power to set the pace. If things go awry, it is on them to reset everything. A failing society shows failing elites. A very good example is the newly completed and now operating Simandou iron ore project in Guinea-Conakry. That mine has an iron ore quality of over 60% (one of the world's highest), but has seen failures in building its operations due to the sheer incompetence of its elites. Then came in the new leader - General Mamady Doumbouya - who forced all parties to do as he and his men mandated. The Guineans insisted on 15% stake, not just in the mine, but in the logistics company that operates the rail and port. For instance, even when Guinean authorities demanded that American-operated locomotives run on those Chinese tracks, the Singaporean-headquartered company owned by Mainland Chinese imported locomotives from China, only to have them sent back to China. The American company - WABTEC - later delivered its locomotives from its facility in India. That is the power of elites. Rio Tinto, which is partly Australian, had majority control of the mine but did not invest to bring it to life until the Chinese came in, led by Sun Xiushun. One of the reasons is that Simandou iron ore quality is very high and would reduce the bargaining power of a similar iron ore area in Australia. Simandou had many infrastructural challenges, including building a new railway rather than using an existing route in neighbouring Liberia (which is much closer). Sun Xiushun poured in his capital and brought in port construction experts from China to work on the project. Banks from Mainland China and Singapore were sceptical about backing him, but he forged on. I almost shed a tear while reading the article because a Guinean senior official stated, "This is the first time we see a railway being completed and running in our lifetime". That is pure Chinese engineering backed by the resolute support of Guinean elites. So, the entire problem in Northern Nigeria and other parts of the country is solely at the feet of the elites in those places. Boko Haram and other menaces in our country can be ended today if the elites want them to stop. Northern elites have the power to stop the wanton killings of Christians in their domain. This is not the White man (Trump) wanting to scoop resources or the Chinese man fueling the carnage. It is unadulterated Northern Nigerian elites' incompetence. Two interesting articles about the Simandou project: - https://archive. md/2025.11.11-000608/https://www. bloomberg. com/news/articles/2025-11-11/shipowner-unlocks-china-rio-tinto-s-bet-on-africa-s-giant-mining-prize-simandou - https://archive. md/2025.11.12-031324/https://www. ft. com/content/9fe8f588-5383-4fde-b2f7-11fcbb206384 remove the spaces in between |
LordAdam16:Thank you Lord o When the cake is bigger, there is more to scoop from. We can become so powerful across borders, and talk when others are talking. It is why I keep hammering on the aspect of the elites. They have all the power to do and undo. So, why not do the right thing and reap all the benefits? You become adored as their counterparts in the Gulf States. |
C'mon! Even when there is irrefutable evidence to show the carnage in their communities? ![]() Na Trump cause this one, eh, Ndi America wants oUr rEsOuRcEs? |
Freshandfitpod:Sheer kudos to Southwestern governors - they purposely attracted the Chinese to set up industrial estates in their states. Ogun, Lagos and Ondo have been great winners from this. One might say proximity to Lagos made it so, but there were concrete efforts by the governors to attract Chinese capital. I recalled Amosun and Aketi visiting China on several occasions to solicit investments. Nasarawa, Ebonyi, and to an extent, Kaduna are doing the same. This is what other states such as Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Rivers and Delta should be doing. Be intentional with investments. In fact, as far as I am concerned, any state that wants to industrialise should focus on China. The state does not need to be abut the sea, after all, Nasarawa, Benue, Ebonyi and Kaduna are landlocked. Just advertise the resources in your state |
pansophist:If e dey safe - no shootings, break-in into cars/houses, police harassment, stabbings etc., - then it is a good deal. I love such places. It’s freaking hot, a tiny economy that revolves mainly around tourism. You have been so used to Northern Europe to an extent, tropical West Africa is too hot. Their currency is high, but to make it is harder. This seems to be a global phenomenon. Countries with strong currencies have it hard, even for the natives, to make good money. They have beaches, and that’s what draw Europeans there, but Nigerian beaches are better and plenty. Are our beaches really that better? Outside Lagos and Akwa Ibom, where else do we have beaches which regularly attract fun-seekers and are safe? It is the safety that attracts Europeans. Lots of Nigerians ladies do prostitution there. Infact that’s a trade Nigerian girls are know for.I wouldn't have imagined it o But on a business note, it is a virgin land compared to Ghana. Run it for three years, gather enough funds and decide on what next to do. |
