Bizmind95: Oga l understand the basic laws of demand and supply very well. But 120% increase in prices in just two months is not due to any laws of demand and supply anything. That one is just based on the laws of Greediness and Selfishness It is because there would be panic buying, thus increasing the demand astronomically, simply because supply has been restricted. Now that supply restrictions have been removed, aren't food prices so cheap? 20K for a bag compared to over 100K for the same quantity? |

This article by an assistant professor at Cambridge University summarises the growth of China and how it benefits the world. See here: https://www.theglobalcurrents.com/p/embracing-chinas-economic-rise?r=5jvrbk&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=webTowards the end, he writes with supporting evidence how China's rise has aided developing countries in the Global South, especially African nations. Furthermore, he stated (with evidence) how China has never seized, sanctioned or used severe penalties to usurp loans or investments across the continent. He also stated that American companies and consumers have benefited immensely from doing business in and with China. There is nothing that he has written that I have not written. The rise of China has benefited everyone across the world, and as he ended, what benefits the Chinese people would benefit the rest of the world because China has 17% of the world's population. When I first came across his tweets, especially as they are "pro-China" whereas he is a prof at an acclaimed Western institution, I thought he was funded by Chinese think-tanks or related bodies. Apparently, he is not funded by Chinese institutions or people, as it would have been uncovered. Nevertheless, to read such a strong defence of China from a Westerner (Jostein Hauge) in an elite university is refreshing. His Twitter account: https://x.com/haugejostein |

There are 7.8 billion people on planet Earth. - Women = 5.6 billion breaths - men = 2.2 billion So the UN advises women to be cautious in their attitude towards men, because out of 2.2 billion men: - 1 billion married already - 130 million in jail - 70 million suffer from mental health problems and various illnesses. That means there are only about 1 billion men available for marriage. And who is this billion : - 56% are unemployed - 3% of them are gay - 1% are Catholic priests. - 10% are parents or close relatives - 30% over 65 years old So, ladies, married or single, treat men with respect. There is a shortage of men all over the world. So Aunty Hold your man tight! All are lies! There is almost gender parity. Which one be men are 2.2 billion? |

Two things I have realised after reading commentary from our people: - They don't understand basic economics. This is worse with the so-called "educated" southerners who want to be socialist in other people's business, but be capitalist in their own business. - Many Nigerians have numeracy issues, so they dish out figures anyhow and when asked to defend the statement, they get angry. |

Hence I approached her as someone of same color and race, which she knows quite well, but somehow isn’t proud of her race. Blacks face racial discrimination here so I understand her, but it would have made sense if I was white or something. I’m black, just like her! According to you, she denied her African ancestry. Ethnicity is different from race. She sees herself as an African American, rightfully so, as she was raised in the US, not in Congo. Two, African Americans have better rep compared to Black Africans and more so in places with few Black people. Her American accent and passport would take her places that many Black Africans wouldn't gain easy access. Three, she would likely face less discrimination because she is an American, even though she is phenotypically Black. I am curious, which region did you see her? |

Bizmind95: Oga forget Lamba. Nigerians are just their own problem. I remembered back then in 2019 that Buhari was still planning to ban the importation of foreign rice, l went down to a local rice farming village here to run a market survey, and the farmers were still offering a bushel of rice (25kg) for 3k. And it was around the middle of September then, so they had done the harvesting, and factored everything in. But believe it or not, two months later that Buhari finally banned foreign rice, l went down to the same market and the price of the same one bushel of rice has jumped to 7k with abeg oo, which is over a 100% increase in just 2 months!!! So who's deceiving who here We Nigerians are the most greediest people on Earth!!! Yet we blame the Government for everything. But we are also part of the problem. Nothing greedy there. It is basic economics. Supply of rice in the market has been restricted as foreign rice has been barred from entry. Restricted supply + increasing demand = higher prices. Now, foreign rice is allowed entry while there is a surplus of local rice. The result? Reduced prices. How is this difficult to grasp? |

Nor be everything suppose cause fight. While this answers the questions, it is not realistic for Nigeria (and other African countries) unless the US forces it using its might. Nigeria cannot divide without an external force behind it. China is not interested in such, while Russia is bogged down in its own war. Only the US can do it, and should the US want Nigeria to be divided, nothing will stop it, but not without an ensuing war. |

When a woman demand for money from a man it's a problem a Big turn off for some. But a man will meet a girl today and demand to spread her legs for sex and it's not a problem. Men are overly quick to demand for sex from the first day or within the week of relationship But when a woman demand for money on first date or first week she automatically becomes a gold digger. If you don't want a woman to ask you for money or bill you Stop demanding for sex from her. The problem is with the men who believe sex is free, and in turn, label such a girl OS. I have nothing wrong with ladies who put up a price for sex before any deep interaction. In fact, I applaud them as they are honest enough. The problem is with our men who think sex is free. |

I was like, ohhh, you aren’t African? Her reply? Ohh..my parents are from Congo, but I’m American. I avoided her afterwards..lol. Again, a different context. She did not explicitly state she is not happy about her Congolese ancestry, OP's girl is. Also, being raised in the US, where there is a strong Black culture and population, is different from where you met her (not many Blacks). goran3310: Poverty turns a man into a thief — and a woman into a who.re.
Don’t get into a relationship with someone who’s poor. Or if you do, test and verify her right away to see if she’s worth it. There’s gold in the mud sometimes — but it’s rare, and that’s why it’s valuable. At the first sign that she’s hungry, that she needs this or that — turn around and walk away. It’s not a matter of money. It’s a matter of how her mind is wired. And no one needs wiring like that. The problem with this avoid poor or "broke" people (both men and women) is that Nigeria is a country filled with poor people. The economy really needs to grow so people can get okay and good jobs which they use to build their lives. |

JESHAL007: Madness and insanity is the norm, I understand the place of religion and superstitious believe in humans but how can you grow your economy without credit/debt/ liquidity, it's crazy, it can't happen, I remember bishop David Oyedepo was saying that he has never borrowed since he began his ministry, that winners was built loan free, these defies all logic and creates an aura of mystery around money that preys on gullible Nigerians that don't have any awareness at all, fine he might not have sourced money from banks and other lenders which is ok because he's not going to repay back anything, but the fiat money in circulation is issued when IOUs are created backed by nothing tangible but debt, fiat money itself is debt, no money is created out of thin air without borrowing it into existence, he's just leading people astray and solidifying their archaic financial traditional beliefs of work hard, save money, how can you expand fast and increase exponentially without debt, with your hard earned equity ( savings), it's impossible now, we need a cultural and religious narrative to liberate Nigerians from the shackles of these men of God who know nothing about economy but selling miraculous turnaround as strategies to combat poverty, inflation, unemployment and other economic woes, it's just pathetic, coupled with our low IQ, add superstitious beliefs again, many Nigerians are misled about the concept of debt, they don't understand it at all that's why they hate it with passion, they see debt as negative or evil in their life's, I laugh in Spanish, if only they know that they are chronic debtors under every government indirectly who borrow on their behalf, they would sharpen up The excessive focus on spirituality is a major setback because it cuts across all walks of life. I have conversed with a man and his wife who declined obtaining a loan from a major bank for their business because the said bank uses juju to curtail the growth of the business, so they seize the collateral, which was their house. People now use loan apps but blame the companies for their inability to pay rather than their ineptitude in understanding the interest rate and duration of the loan. What was the loan used for? What is your current salary? How frequent is your salary, consistent or irregular? Sure, buying and selling provide initial capital, but for businesses to expand, debt is required. Yes, there are unforeseen circumstances, such as the ginger blight, which affected many farmers; that is where insurance comes in. Or farmers who did storage, that is where policy consistency by the government comes in. Those pastors have NEVER managed a profitable business in their lives. Their monies came from the congregation based on the hope they sold. They got free money. That is it. Interestingly, their assets are owned by their families, not the church members. Our fear of debt has made people to be criminal minded doing all sorts so they leverage whereas using loans to advance themselves while playing by the rules of the loan agreements would take them far. Annoyingly, we are not prepared to learn better; else rather than outrightly condemning mortgage or paid health insurance, we should begin to see reasons why these policies are in place. Another thing is honesty. We are not honest people. Hopefully, these new tax laws and identification reform will prompt people to act in probity. |

The South East is the poorest area of Nigeria despite all the shoulder carrying posture. Rich people don’t leave their homeland in large numbers to seek refuge elsewhere. There is oil in Anambra and Imo states. Imo has one of the highest gas deposits in Nigeria. The southeast has one of the lowest poverty rates in the country. Please I know these questions might sound odd to you guys but I'm totally a novice in these things and I do not have a bachelors degree but I'm looking forward to giving my life a meaning with this thread I just found. Been looking for something like this for ages.
I've read quite a couple of pages on the thread from the beginning and from the last but I still needed to ask the three questions above You did not read the entire thread. You are on the same Internet as myself and everyone else, please use it to find affordable language schools. YOU, not me, want to go to a language school. It is YOUR DUTY, not mine, to search for schools. That is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY. I already gave tips on how to find an affordable language school. Please read, read and read. I saw your request earlier on, but decided not to reply as I find it irritating to reply to a post when the answers have been provided countless times in this thread, and there is Google. What is difficult in "affordable language schools in Japan" There is even ChatGPT! If you are given a mattress, MUST you ask for a pillow? As for Bsc, I have explained tirelessly about the importance of age when seeking admission into language schools. Please read the entire thread and don't quote me again. Thank you! |
