Buliwyf:Many Nigerians don't understand basic economics. So many are illiterates. It is hard to have a conversation with them on economics. |
Shidinky:Nigeria goes beyond Lagos and Abuja, and there are people who generate 30m beyond those places. |
abbey621:Security is the major difference. Other aspects can be obtained in Nigeria. The man in question talks anyhow on Facebook. One of those illiterate men in the abroad. He has only made sense twice ever since I came across his videos. |
SamuraiXXX:Not obtainable in all countries. In some countries, it is actually free. |
Akamon:Do you know what a duplex is? And where in Nigeria can 30m build three of that structure? |
Tightpussy2024:You na strong woman o ![]() I'm curious, like other women, what do you spend the money you earn on? How do you spend the money if the man is meant to spend his money entirely on the family? |
Interesting thread filled with eye-opening responses. To be fair, though, a business is a different entity from its owner. |
Didn't Tinubu call Udom Emmanuel "this small boy" during his campaign amidst some tittle-tattle that Udom once worked or did a deal for Tinubu while he (Udom) worked in Lagos? Tinubu should have pressured Buhari to approve the port. Udom toured Abuja tirelessly (kudos to him, though) to obtain the approval, yet nothing came to fruition. Now, Akpabio and even Wike are senior men in Abuja. Should both men retire from national politics while Ibom Port has not been approved and Onne Port cannot compete favourably, shame on them! |
Magnoliaa:lol! Let's see what the future brings. I was once a feminist (my post's history attests to this). So, I know how to spot one. That said, I love educated women who can hold interesting conversations and make their money. Whether every woman in this category is a feminist is yet to be seen. Till then. |
Magnoliaa:For me to start searching Rene's tweet history reeks of unemployment. However, I have come across such tweets and others she lent support. This is someone who says women should be allowed to live their lives without being pressured to marry. Suddenly, she emphasises fast tracking the talking stage on the basis of a woman's age. She should choose a struggle. |
DAramis:Young women enjoying their prime. When e reach man turn, dem go dey complain. This life na turn by turn. |
givedemwotowoto:APC hawks will take advantage of it/game the system. Their comments will be ranked so high. |
The thread is hilarious! I had a very good laugh. |
franchasofficia:That's an unfair and inaccurate representation of how the Islamic forces overtook the country's leadership. The previous leaders abi rulers - the Shah - was imposed by the UK and the US simply because the DEMOCRATICALLY elected Mossadegh nationalised Iranian oil industry. The US and the UK (CIA and MI6) deposed Mossadegh who was elected by ordinary Iranians. So why make it look like the Islamic theocrats took over power for no just reason? The Shah was even a brutal dictator. |
Igirigimercenar:If Tinubu won in 2023 even when he wasn't the president and faced internal opposition from his party, why do you think he would lose in 2027 that he's the president? Tinubu isn't Jonathan o Tinubu will garner more votes in 2027 than he got in 2023. He would win by a landslide. |
jedisco:Yes, modern people are opting for fewer children, but so far, the statistics globally indicate that more women opt for this than men. It is women who are opting out of marriage, not necessarily men, and since it takes two to tango, then fewer marriages which lead to fewer children. Historically, the long standing phenomenon shows that when women are educated, they opt for fewer children. This cuts across all cultures, racial groups and religions. Educated women hold the ace for childbearing not just because of the biological aspect, but the empowerment, both economic and physical, that education comes with. |
Tightpussy2024:I don't consider it a nice thing for a single man who built himself to marry a widow with kids. That is not fair on the bachelor's side. The same applies to a young and enterprising lady who I strongly believe deserves a man on a clean slate. It's one thing to condemn irresponsibility attached to single parenthood (out of wedlock parenthood). I myself condemn it.I have never used those words on women. Honestly, this is the first time in more than two months I have come across the term "stretch mark". |
9jaBloke:That's the Times Higher Education ranking. However, it can be easily gamed by institutions. The most reliable are the QS and ARWU (this one is biased towards STEM fields and awards). The organisation behind the Times Higher Education rankings has commercialised its rankings way more than others. |
emmaodet:To add to this: The attacks on Iran are aimed at neutralising any rising or prominent power in the Middle East, just for Israel to remain the only prominent force, and all others pay allegiance to it (Israel). Should Iran fall, Turkey would be next and then a pivot to East Asia (something Obama initiated). P.S. There seems to be a cult or group of people who control the long term policies/goals of every US president. From history so far, any policy or goal the US adopts, other Western countries follow suit. Once the Middle East has been neutralised, the focus would shift to Russia and China, especially the latter, as the former is bogged down in a war. Should China fall, these people would then shift focus on smaller powers or those wey dey show body such as India, South Africa and Brazil. For one, the West and especially Israel would never forget and forgive what South Africa has done in recent times by charging Israel in court. These people don't forgive and forget. At this point, they can do and undo, starve nations of trading alliances, food, fuel, technology, etc. They can bomb a country to shreds and know that nobody will cry in defence or offer economic succour. They can pursue a systematic eugenic project aimed at reducing the population of others so that they remain the dominant force for millennia to come. The aim is to fight off any rising power so they reignite the slave trade era, where they were unhinged and unchallenged. When one analyses the posts, statements and videos of the likes of Elon Musk, Peter Thiel, Alex Karp, etc., that is where they are headed. |
Tightpussy2024:Opposing the rise in single mothers in a society does not equate to disdain. You are putting words into my fingers, and that is not nice. |
Tsarbomba:That was when I was much younger. Not anymore. Going forward, I'm all for the economic prosperity of the Black race. Anything else no too concern me. Historically, the West hasn't been fair to Africans cum Black people, and this continues to date. If not tell me why the US is warning Nigeria against Chinese investments in the mines sector whereas NO AMERICAN FIRM (the only Western firm operating a mine is Canadian in Osun state - gold mining) is operating any mine or building any processing facility. Go to the Middle Belt (Nasarawa, Kogi and Niger), Chinese firms are operating mines, erecting factories and training people. One of such facilities pays minimum of 500K per month to graduates. These are investments and jobs. Yet the US is against such. Okay na, invest since you don't want China to play a role, mbanu! It's demonic! Come September, AGOA will end and have to be renegotiated. I'm sure many African countries will lose eligibility because of one thing, one thing. Meanwhile, China has waived off import tarrifs on all goods exported from Africa. Tomorrow, they will say China is enslaving Africans. It's so annoying. I'm glad all their hypocrisies are aired live on social media. It wasn't like this during the '000s and 2010s. |
Yet another reason I support abortion and emphasise safe aka protected sex. Please insist on condom ![]() |
emmaodet:I see them initiating another slave trade era or nuking Africa, considering our population would surpass theirs by a great margin. I just wonder why China and Russia are so aloof, or do they think they are spared (especially China)? |
Dijita:The probability is higher in the US than anywhere else. That is my point. Nowhere would likely produce a doctor who is moneyed enough to donate $1m to any cause. In fact, the richest physicians all made their wealth in the US. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patrick_Soon-Shiong#Business_career |
0neal:The thing here is that in this red pill world, when facts are provided, they are categorised as. People attack the messenger more than the message. Fine, Matt has called for "third world" immigrants to be barred from the West, but in this particular video, he makes sense, and so far, his words align with the stats - modern women are not as interested in marriage and/or childbearing as much as men of today are. Why should we disregard facts simply because we don't like the messenger? I don't have that belief system. There are Nigerian politicians I don't like, but I listen to and read their words, and if they are logical and accurate enough, I would lend my support. I don't have to like someone before supporting his/her opinion (fact-based) on a specific topic. cc: RodgersAkpafu I was astonished when he mentioned the study done in Nigeria... Our Nigeria of all countries, where middle class is almost disappearing, where there is minority Rich and mostly struggling population. Is it that the rate of underdevelopment in a country is proportional to most unmarried ladies in that country having skyscraper egos? Especially ladies from the tribe you mentioned...Actually, it is the opposite. Underdevelopment leads or should lead to a high number of unmarried women with bungalow egos. The snag here is that these unmarried women are highly educated, are exposed to Western cultures and modern social media pop culture. As a result, they develop this high level of desirability for and pride in themselves. Generally, educated women tend to be choosy in life partners. As for the Igbo culture, it is very money driven. So, what you have is cultural, not based on gender. I was at a conference yesterday in Abuja, approached the display booth of a renewable energy company to make enquiry about their product. The pretty Igbo lady sized me up with her eyes and snubbed me after i greeted and smiled at her, looked away to talk to an elderly woman who came shortly after i approached, probably she thinks i cant afford their product, she could have just politely said, "excuse me let me talk to mommy, i will get back to you" Understandable!!!To be fair, largely a Nigerian thing as customer service isn't an utmost priority for most firms, and I dare say that the poorer a country is with cultures that are very money driven, the more snobby the citizens would become. Standard and proper customer service isn't really our strength. One of the downsides of not having a flourishing tourism industry. I already have a decent bachelor solar system that serves very well even powers my table top fridge, looking to improve on the capacity as i am planning to get married next year.Congratulations on your marriage. Theres a study done in the US which show Black American ladies who are either customer representative or in the service industry are the most rude race to customers...I am curious to know how a study that looks solely at race was allowed to pass through in this age of racial awareness, especially in the US. I also read a study done by Morgan Stanley "rise of the she economy" it predicts that from 2030 the percentage of unmarried career ladies 35 & above will skyrocket. It has already and a stat posted by Bloomberg that single women out-earned their single male counterparts. Only married people (both genders) out-earned both. Married men > Married women > Single women > Single men. Interesting times ahead...Oh! very interesting times. The effects show case eim self in the next decade and two. Na to dey siddon look and sip one's favourite drink while eating one's loved delicacy. |
luminouz:I have been against bride price for as long as I can remember. I am willing not to pay it. Most importantly, its usefulness isn't strong in this age of sexual liberation. Any man who pays that sum as bride price and the woman accepts, anything they see, let them take it like that. |
Even the story is false (please don't ask me how I know). I find the responses very interesting. Ten years ago, there would have been so much rebuke for the purported neighbour, but today, the OP is being told to "mind his business". Times are changing... |
highchief1:He is a medical doctor in the US. If he is also entrepreneurial, as I want to assume, then he can make as much money as he desires. That is the benefit of being in the US - the chances to make a lot of money are immense. |
luminouz:I have read such, but I find it hard to believe because it does not make sense to me. Why would a grown working adult hand over all her earned salary/wage to her husband? It does not make sense to me. Maybe to you. Maybe it is because I grew up in a sheltered and secluded setting. Some things sound so odd to me. Na for social media I read say CS method is frowned upon, but I have always known it to be an alternative method of childbirth. |
0neal:Thank you for the video. It is what I have been telling RodgersAkpafu but he repels it as red pill. One wonders if the Pew Organsiation is a red pill supporting firm. It is women who are gladly staying out of marriage, whether in China, Korea or the West. In the rest of the world, where cultural freedom isn't widespread, they grudgingly marry but ensure they have fewer children. It is one reason many of our ladies who japa'd would not return - the freedom offered by living in the West is something they cannot let go of. The low marriage cum birth rate is borne and supported by women, not men. The thing is if RodgersAkpafu will watch the video without disparaging it because of the speaker. Additionally, I like that Matt replayed a five-year-old video where the now 32-year-old lady labelled men as trash. It relates to a post I made in my diary. One group of women cannot consistently label men as trash for a decade, then get surprised that the same men today are not "men" again or don't want to marry. It is funny a then 27 year old lady wants to marry a trash now that she is 32. C for Cognitive Dissonance! ![]() As for Nigeria, I have always stated it here: should we become as rich as Malaysia, many of women would not marry. A whole lot would stay off marriage, starting with Igbo women. 🤣🤣🤣 |
Tightpussy2024:But why would a man buy a car for his side chic when his wife uses public transport? ![]() A lady B(not related to me) will come to my mom's women fellowship back in naija to always complain of her hubby.she did the same hairstyle her hubby side chick did to impress him and his response was," you think e fit you? If you no fine, you no fine.nothing fit change am"Well, I agree with them. But any man who maltreats his wife while in Nigeria yet follows her to the UK after selling his assets back home has himself to blame. ![]() Don't forget what men do in UK.you will study, work ,and still come back to house chores. And he will still expect you to submit your salary.Wait o, a woman submits her salary to her husband? Is it cultural amongst some Nigerians? I find that hard to believe, I am being honest. |
phorget:Those countries are puppets in the grand scheme of things. Everyone should know this by now. It is Saudi Arabia that supports the Wahhabism ideology amongst Muslims in the West. That has been curtailed or reduced, but it (Saudi) now exports the same ideology to sub-Saharan African countries. I made a post here months ago alluding that one of the reasons Qatar (the first and only ME country) could get a visa waiver status to the US is a thank you gift for revealing the secrets and inner-dealings of Hamas and Hezbollah. |
