That is why I cannot be a politician, as someone like Lee Kuan Yew would not thrive in today's world. The pension system will collapse; it is only a matter of time. AI and robotics are mentioned as solutions to low birth rates, but robots don't consume goods and services. So companies will be taxed higher, but in a world where tax bases can be domiciled in a tax haven, I want to see how policymakers will navigate through it. But the tax aspect is fair enough. If you must receive pension, born pikin. No pikin? No pension. It is the fairest thing to do.

Interesting post you quoted. Things have now matured.

True the two issues you mention and the pursuit of low migration are what I call the three conundrums most developed nations are dealing with today. The fact is that none knows how to marry these three. Most were looking to Japan to learn but their struggle has become increasingly apparent.

So far, no nation has reliably been able to significantly reverse low birth rates. I think it'd ultimately get to a stage when having kids becomes more fashionable but that'd be decades/centuries away- time which many can't afford. Take the winter fuel payments that did this government the most havoc and its subsequent reversal or the U.S debt issue. Everyone wants freebies with someone else paying for it
The pension system can be revamped in the following ways:

- Citizens handle their pensions
- Retirement ages should be increased to 75
- At a certain age, people should receive less pension.
- Unmarried people should be taxed THRICE as married people. Married people with no children should be taxed twice. Married persons with children should be taxed far less than any other group.

The core issue about low birth rates is not necessarily the costs (Niger Republic has a high birth rate), but modern day women who have deliberately refused to have more children or even marry at all. In East Asia, women are not marrying, and culturally, marriage comes before bearing children. The government should tax unmarried persons very high.

Let's talk about the Plaza Accord

On a final note, it is very easy to say that the plaza accord was this. "weapon' used by the weat to cripple Japan, but again ask yourself, did the Japanese really think that this will go on forever? i.e continued weakening of the currency plus trade restrictions via violating NT?]
Well thought out explanation. I do agree that China controls its currency. However, certain policies by the US-led West point to fear and anger that the Chinese are surpassing them in new technologies such as electric vehicles/batteries, solar panels/wind blades, ownership of mines, etc. It is not the Chinese's fault that they developed their manufacturing industry to be so efficient. It is not their fault that they unlike Westerners move out to far-flung countries to open new markets. The West is just jealous. The tale of IP theft is platitudinous. Many of the top class researchers in the West are ethnic Chinese. So, why is it surprising that the country which churns out more engineering graduates than any other cannot replicate the same thing? The home of those top class ethnic Chinese in Western laboratories?

You always support women being financially independent and mostly don't need men again nowadays since their is intimacy gadget and they can finance their own lifestyle. You also support not shamming women for sexual liberation because it is their body and they can use it how they feel without men breeding down on them.
I support women in earning their own money, as it brings them respect and dignity. Men, by default, have to earn money whether they like it or not. To be clear, though, I have always espoused sexual liberation, but with caution. The issue of sex to.ys is that as women who can stay off sex for a long time, have their own money, it makes the sexual use of men in their lives to be unimportant, aka useless. So, yes, women earning their own money kinda of makes the usefulness of men in their lives nonexistent. It is why modern-day women have much higher sieving standards for men these days, unlike, say, the 1980s and 1990s.

Then, somehow you are worried the same men shouldn't go the babymama way because kids raised under this condition are mostly social misfit and such men are dead-beat dads.
Yes, because if one is to have properly raised children, the chances are higher in a two-parent household than otherwise. This is a global phenomenon. Fun fact: when I was much younger, I entertained the idea of baby-mama largely because of pop culture (Tuface na eim cause this thing), but after reading numerous scientific studies and articles and comparing the results, I realised that the two-parent household is the best setting to have a family. Even within my immediate family, there is a stark difference between families who have a father figure and those without one.

In my opinion, it is much better to remain child-free or not marry at all than indulge in baby-mama and baby-papa. See the recent news from Port-harcourt where a baby-mama frolicks with seven other men other than her baby-daddy, who has four other baby mamas. Recently, I was reading about crime rates in the Caribbean islands and came to realise that Jamaica has a high crime rate, way higher than other Caribbean nations. The unifying reason amongst the commentators is: fatherless homes. Children, especially males, who grew up without fathers or a father figure. So the effects of baby-daddy go beyond the family and spill into the society. It is the reason I support polygamy, as it provides a father figure for children who otherwise would lack one. Both genders (male and female) are needed to raise children.

Let me tell you a truth - The moment we accept women sexual liberation aka women can be shameless without been judged, the "dead-beat dad" statement too goes out of the window.
There are no more dead beat dads because you can't use a metric for a man while exonerating the woman.
There can't be a jailer, if there are no prisoners.
The same law that apply to a masquerade apply to a person using hijab because they are both covered.
Nature will always find it's balance irrespective of human's sentiment or biasness.
Lastly, no reasonable person invests where their interest is not protected. They did that out of the personal conviction that the women are their properties. It is the same way you will fight to the end the land you buy and someone wants to take it away from you.
But when you have properties that can be taken away from you easily without you saying love-vendor, that property becomes a risky investment to do.
If investing my sweat on a lady/relationship, sometimes send her to school, put her on monthly payment, take her abroad etc and she can just wake up to say she is not doing again or give me a bastard or just cheating on me without any repercussion, rather am been laughed at to move on, then it is only natural that survival instinct will kick-off relationship-wise. It will never be about what the kids will turn out to be or whatnot, my survival, sweat, investment is on the line and nothing else people say or gaslighting or emotional blackmailing will do.
You made strong points here. I think the solution would be to dial down on the sexual liberty for women and promote sexual chastity so that men are made to realise its importance. A situation where men can get the milk for free without owning the cow or tending to the ranch means cows wouldn't be well taken care of or regarded in the grand scheme of things, because hey, the milk is free. The court systems towards men, too, have to be reworked to make things much fairer. The problem, however, is that women have "tasted freedom", which would be hard to collect. The birth control and education are the greatest weapons they have. It gives them so much power. Na why birth rates dey fall everywhere aside Africa. I have thought about a severe and widespread economic depression (men by nature can withstand such conditions), but those weapons will always make women resist a return to the '50s.

The men of olden days were not just responsible (this is debated anyway), ready to die for their women and fight for the village to protect their women and kids.
The bold reminds me of a reddit thread (r/Singapore) where the young males stated that they won't fight for their women should Singapore face a war, after all, women are equal to men. They argue that since women say they are equal to men in job requirements, housing, education et al., then they (women) should be equal in going to war.

P.S. Singaporean males have to participate in a compulsory military exercise for two years, while the females don't have to. So, each man has offered two years to the country, yet the birth rate in Singapore is below 1 TFR. So, what are women offering the country despite all the education, freedom, safety, money and economic opportunities men offered them?

Every day I think through these topics, I realise why God and his prophets in the Bible did what they did.

What about your business rivals and competitors looking for every means to bring your business down, they use all conventional and unconventional methods, including going spiritual diabolism, voodooism, witchcraft and thuggery. It's not easy owning a successful business in Nigeria.

Also, something that many haven't stated or wouldn't state is the Nigerian economy. I've been following Nairaland since 2010 and within the 2010 - 2014 period, there were few threads then about hookup unlike as it's now socially and societally ubiquitous. We surpassed 6% GDP growth rate under Jonathan and have never hit 5% ever since. So ten years of economic servitude.

The state of the economy has made almost everyone to be brutish. Blame those who campaigned and voted for Buhari in 2015.

Despite my extensive knowledge of female psychology, I have avoided contributing to the rot in the society, I'm not perfect but at least I have done well compared to others.

Some men would waste their youth fúcking around, teaching and encouraging moral decadence amongst our women; and just like worn-out feminists, they begin to look for a "good fearing" partner when it's time to "settle down."

There's a heavy price for stupidity and if we do not pay for ours, someone else would — it could even be our children.
Thank you!

I've written it here countless times - Nigerian men created, nurtured and fueled the hookup industry. So blaming women entirely is pure falsehood and hypocrisy. We made our women believe there's so much money to be made and fun to be enjoyed while offering their bodies. Afterwards, you (the women) will still get married.

Women can stay long without sex and with the presence of sex t.oys, they don't necessarily need men to cater to their sexual needs. At the same time, they now earn their money. So technically, modern women don't necessarily need men to live comfortably. But if the demand for sex by men is so high, why not make some money on the side and enjoy their lives? huh

Interestingly, I live and work in the home of "Karoshi" and work only allotted hours (8 hours 45 minutes) per weekday. Overtime is applicable. In most job openings, overtime earnings is included in the expected salary.

P.S. Salaries are clearly stated in almost every job advert. So, applicants know how much to expect.

For me, once I hit 8 hours 45 minutes, I clock out. There's a foreigner privilege in that aspect and I take full advantage of it. That said, Black foreigners rarely get delivery jobs except the person speaks very good Japanese. Also, those roles don't pay well and even if they do, you have to be a permanent resident to be employed in such roles. Any Black foreigner who is a permanent resident has better career options or as in most cases, they start their enterprises. Factory jobs are good as long as the person has a standard work visa (Technology/Humanities/Int'l Services). Anything aside that work visa leads to poor work conditions. For a Black person to hold that visa status and work in a factory/laboratory, such a person works for a good company and is well paid with all perks that come with the job just as they apply to a Japanese citizen.

Nevertheless, I give it to them for being disciplined at work, extremely punctual, largely very honest and ruthlessly efficient.

Building one's career or a business takes time. Unfortunately, women's biology does not flow with that. Yes, it is biologically appropriate for women to bear children early in life and later focus on their craft (I had classmates who did such and I think they won it well enough). I would say the solution is to get married to a kind man who is doing something while playing the long game to economic stability. To add, have fewer children.
