Tinubu is an Epitome of failure about to happen

You only know about Osinbajo because of Tinubu and the fact is that there are many more like Osinbajo working with Tinubu so voting for Tinubu will put many more Like Osinbajo to work in government

Romance / Re: As A Woman I Have Decided I'm Never Getting Married Or Having Kids by Ghengiskhan(m): 9:10am On May 17, 2022
Poswahala:
Guys I genuinely need some advice
Because of the state of my mental health I have decided never to get married or have kids, I suffer from intense depression and anxiety and other mental health problems. I'm unsure of my own future talk more of a child.
I do love being in relationships but I do that only for companionship and sex.
I don't know if I will regret my decision. The guys I have dated have been cool with my no marriage proposal but I don't think any Nigerian man will not want kids.
I'm thinking of moving to another country, buy a house, take care of my community and neighbors then when I'm old, I will move to a retirement home.
If I change my mind I can adopt a child, am not against adoption as I am with marriage, it depends on if my mental health improves

The problem I have is that will I be lonely without a child, like I said I'm not into marriage despite being a woman trained in traditional home, it's not that I hate it or anything, it's not just for me. I will be unhappy being married.
But the child thing is bothering me, I always wanted a child, but i don't want my mental health to prevent me from loving and caring for the child.
Please advise

Your life your decision, I salute your courage
Nothing special about marriage anymore. Husbands and wives cheat and children are ungrateful

siofra:
I just read the story of a woman who couldn't rent a house because the landlord said he didn't like single women renting rooms in his house.

I'm asking because where I live, people would rather rent their boys quarters to women and girls than men and boys. Because they think men are more violent and prone to cause trouble than women due to incidents that have happened in the past.

So, could the reason be misogyny or something else like maybe past encounters with single women renting their rooms
Even from your write up one can easily see that it's a matter of preference. Please what is misogyny called in your language?

Reading all the abuses I got from nairaland, from fellow nairalanders calling me a bastard, ungrateful son all because I was fighting for what was right and not material things.

My mom before she left us, the properties were passed down to her from her parents,(which some they inherited from their Grandparents) she didn't really have to do nothing a full time house wife.. because only the house rents alone she receives from tenants a year from different buildings kept her okay.... some were used for my education, I was made to understand here on nairaland that those properties belong more to my dad, so he can sell it out any way he deem fit... since he married her,. Even though they are ancestral properties.

But, I still don't agree....

So I reported my father to the most senior man in my mother's kindreds, from her father side. I went there on Saturday evening and narrated everything to him...the first thing he said was

YOUR FATHER NOR FIT (in our native language)

He was so angry that he had to call another man and told him everything on the phone, I went back to my house..... and got a call Sunday afternoon to come back around, to my surprise I saw my father there with lots of extended family members and they gave him a stern warning not to try anything funny with those lands.

That our trybe don't sell family lands, house.. inherited property.. that what even gave him the right to think about doing something like that in law for that matter... while my mom has a son...they even said I as the son can't even sell those lands talkless my father.

They ask him, if it was financial issue that gave him that thinking, at first he wanted to deny about selling before he admitted it...my father is not poor, a retired nnpc staff receiving his pension steadily.....he just likes having a lot of money to spend anyhow.... and seeing those lands available he thought he could sell them... but the family proved him wrong and there's nothing he can do about it.

I haven't called my mother kindreds from my my mother side, still observing.. while we Left the meeting, my dad was cold all through..I know he must have narrated to some of his educated friends..let's see if he will take this to court.

This doesn't have nothing to do with me again, but with my mothers kindreds.

If there's no will, then your father is legally entitled to some of your mother's properties and if you are Muslim he is equally entitled to some of the properties.

Politics / Re: Understanding China Belt And Road Initiative And Debt Trap Diplomacy In Africa by Ghengiskhan(m): 8:57pm On Feb 13, 2022
Understanding China Belt and Road initiative and debt trap diplomacy in Africa
Ibitomi olawale olalowo
Ibitomiolawale18@gmail.com.

The rise of China in terms of their economy and power throughout the years has caused other nations to view them as a potential threat to become the global hegemony in the future, In 2013, President Xi Jinping proposed that China would create a “Silk Road Economic Belt” across Central Asia and Europe and a “21st Century Maritime Silk Road” running through the South China Sea and the Indian Ocean, on to the Middle East and Europe — programs meant to revive ancient trade routes and reinforce existing ones. Beijing quickly wove these two visions together and dubbed them the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
While seemingly aimed at regional economic corridors, the BRI is in fact global and motivated by economic and strategic interests. The initiative is generally popular in the developing world, where almost all countries face infrastructure deficiencies and a shortage of resources to overcome them. Through large amounts of loans to participating countries to construct infrastructure in various sectors, the BRI can potentially bring significant benefits to these countries by filling their infrastructure gaps and boosting economic growth, China loan are largely from its important policy bank, the China development bank and the export-import bank of China (EXIM bank). According to EXIM bank the main objective is for China to construct infrastructure in transport, power, water supply and other sector, a further strategic consideration is that China would like to have alternates route to transport natural resources, route that are not controlled by the U.S and its allies.
Debt-trap diplomacy is a concept in international finance used to describe a powerful lending country or institution extending debt to a borrowing nation partially or solely for the lender to increase its political leverage. The term "Debt-trap diplomacy" was originally coin by Brahma Chellancy. The creditor country is said to extend excessive credit to a debtor country with the intention of extracting economic or political concessions after the debtor country becomes unable to meet its debt repayment obligations. The conditions of the loans are often not made public, and often come with conditions that suit the lender. The borrowed money commonly pays contractors and materials sourced from the creditor country. The term has been applied to institutions like the international monetary fund (IMF), but especially to the People’s Republic of China (PRC).

The primary concept of the Belt and Road Initiative encourages reciprocity, wherein the countries are pressured to become indebted to China given they have granted loans for the infrastructures that would aid in the advancement of the country’s economy. Although China claims that they mean well when it comes to their intentions with the BRI, the countries that they choose to negotiate with are those that come from the developing world. Less developed nations already owe an outstanding debt to the IMF and the World Bank and entering negotiations with China would add to their dilemma of financial deficit (Shah, 2018). How does China expect those countries to shell out funds for the Belt and Road Initiative when such nations are already drowning in debt in the first place? China intentionally dealt with poorer nations because they expect that they would not be able to pay their debts and in return, China takes it as an advantage to expand their territories on the global stage. Sri Lanka is an example of a country that was compelled to hand over control of the Southern port of Hambantota to China last December 2017, which in turn gave China an easy access to India whom they consider as a rival (Mantesso, 2018). Tajikistan also handed a disputed border to China in order to repay their debts, and last April 2018 they also handed over their gold mine as renumeration for the funds that aims to build a powerplant (Furukawa, 2018). Other states such as Dijbouti, Laos, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Montenegro and the recent Uganda airport have been used as a form of debt relief wherein they resort to the option of giving off natural resources such as oil to make up for their unpaid debt. And in Dijbouti, China just recently developed its first naval base (Hurley, Morris, & Portelance, 2018). Those cases serve as evidence that China has a hidden agenda to expand their geopolitical realm around the world through the Belt and Road Initiative.
According to voice index 2017 Nigeria borrow $500 million for Abuja light rail, the terms are 20 years with 7 years grace period and a fixed interest rate of 2.5%. Also according debt management office (DMO) as of march 31 2021 Nigeria owned China $3.402 billion, the amount covers 11 loan facilities from china EXIM Bank since 2010.
Nevertheless, countries who engage with China’s Belt and Road initiative should think twice and establish limitations as to how much loans they plan to negotiate with if they do not want to fall into the trap of China that would leave their country indebted, and possibly even controlled by Chinese authorities[/

We just like to deceive ourselves with plenty English, there is no country that lend you money without using it as leverage in one way or the other. The western banks and government give money to governments that loot the money and send same money back to their banks. No foreign government have your best interest they are all doing it for themselves. America, IMF, EU and china all have hidden agenda. Moral of the story stop borrowing money and develop yourself

Waist beads are always a turn off for me anytime I see them though my babe and I never discussed something like that.

Last week as we were gisting she told me she wanted to buy a waist bead from a friend of hers, as soon as she said it I just didn't feel happy about it, she was just smiling and talking about how she is going to look good in the waist bead, how she will turn me on and all but sincerely, I was just irritated cos I don't like it as a result of the perception I have.

She later got it and I intentionally didn't ask her about it, she showed me but my compliment for the waist bead was shallow, she expected me to rave over it, comment well and all but mehn it was a big and huge turn off for me, that's how she got angry and all and decided to give me attitude and not pick my calls again.
My wife own and use waste beads, it's mostly for fashion.....some use it to track their weight. I actually have no problem with it, I'm ok with or without it but it's fun to play with during intimacy

It looks like many people see aviation business as no different from motor park business. Sentiments aside aviation is a serious business that is highly regulated by NCAA in nigeria with many other bodies (ICAO, FAA, EASA) watching over the activities of globally. Positions in an airport cannot be filled up overnight. Almost every post holder has to be licensed. Even the cabin crew of the aircraft have to hold a valid license. FAAN, NAMA, NCAA and NIMET, AVSEC officials have to be deployed to the airport. Firemen have to also be deployed and simulations/drills need to take place prior to the regulator certifying the airport as open for commercial operations. Allen Onyema has been in this aviation business as an operator for at least 7 years and he knows these things. I wonder why he advertised a commercial flight for saturday October 30 when these things have not been put in place. NCAA has approved flights to land on that airport every now and then but not commercial flights. More like charter flights. This is why I dislike Nigerian politics as its full of deceit. The governor should be comfortable with his successor seeing through the completion of the airport certification process instead of treating aviation like motor park business just to win votes in the upcoming elections

A SEC or Aviation Security is a department in FAAN
I am married with three kids 2 years and 3 months triplets , my salary is 55k i used to give my wife 20k mother 10k , 5k for rainy days and 20k for myself transportation and other expenses outside my house. My wife complained that the money was not enough I added 5k making it 25k monthly but she still demanding for more money and she has threatened to leave if I don't give her more , I had no money to give her my own mother was homeless staying in church and I couldn't stop giving her that 10k because she needed it . My wife used to fought me every single day and my uncle asked us to leave the family house hearse we were disturbing their peace and I was ready to let her go and I will be sending 25k for our triplets upkeep every month but for the sake of our kids we have settled down with 30k monthly leaving me with 15k , so far we have moved out of the family house, we are staying in a parlour and room house a brother from Canada gave us the place it is not permanent but it is better and we are very very grateful. Like I said earlier my mother was staying in church now we have a one bedroom house I have discussed with my wife for my mum to come and live with us and I will stop the 10k I was giving her and I will add it to her money making it 40k monthly she have agreed. Now that my mother is here with us she started again with the 40k is not enough to feed all of us note I dobt eat breakfast I eat lunch at work and in the evening at eat at home , she is only giving my mother foods in the evening while she and my kids eat 3 Square meal a day. I asked her why she is treating my mother so badly she said the economy is hard if she doesn't have she won't kill herself. I am sick and tired and if I have sorted things it was for the sake of our kids and now I am starting to regret. I am thinking from this month when I get my salary I will give her 30k and give my mother 10k to be cooking her own foods. It is my decision good?[/quote

If the 40k is only for feeding, I suggest you stop giving her the money and be buying food stuffs yourself and encourage your wife and mother (if she's not too old) to get a job to supplement the household income. Since you don't have enough, there's nothing wrong with your wife working and contributing. Things are really hard now brother but the lord is your strength

Haaaaaaaaa shocked I know how frustrated your wife would be while breastfeeding those 3 kids at once sad sad sir, it's not easy, she will be feeling hungry at anytime, feeding the triplets alone excluding you, your wife and mother, 50k can't be enough sir. Things are too costly in the market. You and your mother need to be very patience with her please. I pray that God send helpers to you and your family. You might apply for better jobs with better pay if you see. Please don't be too harsh to your wife and kids. It's because of this Buhari regime, it will soon be over. Keep praying and have faith that things will be alright one day.

That is why I hate married people bringing out their dirties outside especially on nairaland, those irresponsible married men who can't give their wives and children #20k per month would come out here to type rubbish leading you astray. Please ignore all those people saying too harsh words at you. Cry unto God your helper for better job to take good care of yourself and your family, don't let their words turn to depression to your life.

Why are you not praying for the wife to get a job and supplement the household income ?
