Sunnymatey:
The boys are angry and they are fighting a just course. I as a Niger Deltan deserve an old blog. We need to also benefit frm resources found in our backyard.
The state governments of the Niger Delta will suffer more from this exodus than the FG. Even with 13% derivation, Bayelsa is unable to pay salaries. Now imagine what will happen without. The FG on the other hand can afford to source for funds through other means - presently, it relies ob oil for less than 30% of its expenditures. Na the states I pity most.

Its shameful that the children of the rich who have access to large amounts of capital and sound technical advice wil never go into enterpreneurship. Rather their parent will fix them in CBN
Don't mind them. While they fix their wards in positions of paid employment, they fill our ears with the beauties of soap-making and subsistence farming.
BusinessRe: Part 2. Entrepreneurship Is A Scam In Nigeria As Well As A Multiplier Of Poverty by Ghost01(m): 8:36am On May 13, 2016
The OP made some very valid points, one of which is that there is no substitute for quality education. And while I agree that we need more of capital and innovative entrepreneurs seeing as they create more in both the short and long run than traditional and conditional(?) entrepreneurs, we also cannot ignore the positive role that they play in the economy. Today, in the Nigerian economy, there is the prevalence of the primary and tertiary sectors while the secondary sector, which should be at the vanguard, is actually at the backstage, and therein lies the problem. Good job, OP!

PoliticsRe: A Brief History Of Ile-ife by Ghost01(m): 10:06pm On May 11, 2016
Adegbola also has some interesting ideas about the tussle between Obatala and Oduduwa. According to him, citing different accounts (both oral and written), Obatala, Orunmila and some elders preceeded Oduduwa to Ife, but only to prepare the ground for his -Oduduwa's - arrival. On getting to the earth, Obatala was leader of the first delegation and after Oduduwa later arrived, the former refused to hand over power to the latter. It was Obameri who later rose up in arms against Obatala upon hearing that Obatala drove Oodua out of his palace. Obameri conquered Obatala and drove him out of town.

You're welcome sir.

Some people claim Obalufon 1 & 2 were Oduduwa's sons which means Obamakin, Ogun were Obatala's people. I don't know if this is in that book.

Obalufons ogbogbodinrin (Obalufon alayemore's father) factually is part of Obatala's group. Obalufon shrine is around Igbo Itapa. Infact, in my compound we used to have Ilesun, Ilale & Balea (Balea is the line of Obalufon descendants). Their house is called Ile Balea.

But I wonder why some people tag him & his son with Oduduwa

Do you have this in the book? Besides I would love to get a copy of the book.
I think this should answer your question:
"On the departure of Oduduwa, his eldest living son, Obalufon Ogbogbodirin succeeded him. And when the latter died, his own son, Obalufon Alayemore succeeded him while Oranmiyan, Oduduwa's youngest son was away on sojourn. But on hearing the news, Oranmiyan quickly returned to Ile-Ife and drove his (nephew), Obalufon Alayemore, from the throne. Oranmiyan then became the Ooni and Alayemore fled from the town to found a town now known as Efon Alaaye in Ekiti. Aftrr the death of Oranmiyan on the throne as the Ooni of Ife, his (nephew) Obalufon Alayemore, who fled Ife was recalled to the throne of Ife as the Ooni; he ruled till the end of his life and died on the throne of Ife" (Adegbola, 2009: 101).

It beats me too o. How can any sane human being even consider it an issue to debate in the first place? His brother must consider himself unfortunate to be born into such a family. What makes the OP different from his parents? I'm really pissed! The pastor and the church will spend the money like that. Even if he doesn't pay, I doubt if they will feel it. Gawd!

Only N101 billion (around $500 million) in four months and some are here screaming in jubilation. Impressive by Nigerian standard, yes, but when compared to a world class city like London that has an annual budget of £17 billion, it is paltry. We get to start somewhere though!

1 & 2. Adimu (-la) was a name for Oduduwa who engaged in wrestle with Obatala & succeeded in winning not only the wrestle battle but power & wealth. Oduduwa ti ibi adimu la - hence, adimula.

There was no slave or slave woman in Ife history of Oduduwa period, this is Oyo's version to discredit the throne. The closest tale to that of slave woman & slave child was Orunto who had 4 children who now make up the Obalufe compound. The Obalufe apart from acting as king of Ife also performs spiritual functions for the Ooni.

The Adimu who sent Odede to Bini was Oduduwa who was still on the throne but passed before Odede could return.

4. There was never an Okanbi, Oduduwa had too many wives & too many children. His first child (not daughter) was Olowu's mother (Obatala's good will wife). Owa ilesa & Oranmiyan were blood siblings from one Mother - this shows there was never an Okanbi.

5. Alayemore left after a brutal war that forever quelled or killed Obatala's people attempt at the throne ever again.
I read in a book titled "Ile-Ife: the Source of Yoruba Civilisation" by Adelegan Adegbola that the same Obalufon Alayemore who founded Efon Alaye Kingdom was also the 3rd and 5th Ooni of Ife; that after Oranmiyan's demise, he returned to Ife to ascend the Ooni throne. Care to confirm if this is true or not?

I agree with you on that ancient Yorubas were from the east... I like to think of igalaland or Akokoland as a starting point of our journey to Ife. something disastrous must have made the Yoruba ancestors flee to later be known as ife ooyelagbo
just that nothing concrete to back this assertion

I'm not familiar with Ooni belonging to the igala. .. I know igalas have an ife...there's another ife in okunland but Ooni in Igalahuh

I don't think yoruba descendants in Brazil, Cuba or anywhere outside the geographical "Yorubaland" have much to offer regarding yoruba history.... we should advocate for yoruba sons and daughters to embrace traditionalism and initiation into our traditional institutions. ..much knowledge lays there. in Brazil and the rest, there's too much syncretism, we can only take their versions with much skepticism
The supposed Ife in Okunland is spelt and pronounced "Ìffè" which is very different from "Ilé Ifè".

If national integration must be achieved, your people must be ready to travel to other parts of nigeria and appreciate others.
Well its up to you to decide on what to do.
There is one bad attitude i dont like which is when ur guys are talking and they dont care if u hear or not even in nccf family house.and we are supposed to be Jesus corpers.
Lol. I also served in Cross River and I came across Yorubas in the village where my PPA was located. One of the teachers in the school was even a Yoruba man, married to a CrossRiverian, and in the school's library, one can find Yoruba textbooks.

Look the northerners are doing better than that.and if we must achieve national integration u guys must stop this idol of the cave syndrome.
We have done our part and the hausas are also trying as u see ama awusa(hausa community ) all over the south while such can't be said about your guys or does it mean that you are not sincere about one nigeria.because u guys can say A while B is in your heart.
You obviously are not well-travelled within Nigeria. BTW, just 10 Yorubas in Owerri? That's funny. Lol. But you really need to move around more or consult with people who do/have before jumping to conclusions.
