Yea i see ur point, some genres evolved nd became better some others kept dying nd lost recognition like blues nd country
The thing is that even within these genres, there are sub-genres. In the case of country, you have country pop, country rock, bluegrass, and the likes. Same goes for Rock. Some will tell you Nickelback and Coldplay are not rock bands, yet they are classified in that category. Genre is not a simple black or white thing, that's why you find an artiste like Kelly Clarkson who has rock, pop and country songs credited to her.

Awwwn, good to know people who love afrobeat, I listen to very few Nigerian/African artistes and I can't really tell their genre by just listening to the music, ghost 01, ya help is needed.
Hahaha... Genre of Nigerian songs? That one go hard o.

Well, let's say Karishika by Falz and Phyno is rap, Melo Melo by Olamide and Love Don't Care by Simi belong in the pop category, Flavour's Ada Ada is pop, Mama Oyoyo by Yemi Alade, Iyanya, et al. is pop ...

I'm so so so GLAD.

This is a GOOD NEWS.

I was afraid Ajimobi was going to compromise due to his closeness to PMB.

Now we are waiting to hear from Aregbesola and Amosun. Ajimobi and Mimiko have spoken, remaining Aregbesola and Amosun. The grazing nansense will never work in Ekiti and Lagos, I'm quite sure. No land for them in Lagos, Ekiti-Ketes are the most stubborn Yoruba's, no marauders can't take their land for grazing whatever.

The Bill must be killed and rejected.

Say NO to Fouta Jalons.

Alaabaa.
Lmao @ bolded. Grazing routes are just not going to work. We all must reject the idea.

Foluke daramola only aired her opinion...just like the other lady has hers also..she shouldn't attack someone..thats one of the reasons hate these so called feminists,if u don't say what they want, you automatically become an enemy...
Contemporary mainstream feminism is loud, confrontational, and what we may call ... "anti-sexist sexism". Gone were the days when women rights activists like Betty Friedan tried to do away with 'feminility' or 'masculinity' by advocating that what both sexes share is 'humanity' and that that's what we should be concerned about.

The Senate goofed by not considering the GEB, but even those who sponsored the Bill goofed more by equating gender equality solely with feminist demands.

myners007:
Five Reasons not to Choose Private Universities/ Polytechnics

1. High cost of tuition Fee

2. Lack of competent and experienced lecturers

3 They are not ideal places to pursue Master and Doctorate degrees.(some can boast of only one or two proffesors)

4 High level of recklessness and gross indiscipline among student

5 The degrees they award do not match the individual student actual performance.

Thank you very much. The rate at which these private universities are sprouting in different parts of the country every now and then has still not helped to improve on the quality of education standard in Nigeria. If you are reading this write up and you are a graduate of a private university or polytechnic, the truth remains that you better consider yourself as a half baked graduate.
You need to wisen up. Some departments in your so-called "first generation universities" have just one professor. Wouldn't be surprised if some have none at all.

Country music now is really different from what we had in the the 80's. Phill collins, vince gill, dan seals, don williams, dolly parton, kenny rogers.. These guy made country a dominant genre those days.

Now take a look at george line florda, keith urban, luke bryan nd the rest of em spoiling country music making it recessive. Taylos swift is the worst.

As far as i'm concerned country music is gone, its changed to folk alternative rock
The same way mainstream pop is slightly different these days from what obtained in the 70s and 80s is the same way country music too has evolved. Evolution is perfectly normal. Besides there are some contemporary country songs that sound just like the old ones - Katie Melua's Just When I Needed You Most comes to mind here; could have sworn the song was Dolly Paton's if I didn't happen to have prior knowledge of the artiste.

For me though, I like the songs of the various eras for what they are - the diversity is very welcome! You can have a playlist that has songs by Scotty McCreery, Sam Hunt, Martina McBride, Kenny Rogers, Don Williams, Allison Krauss, Jason Aldean ... and you just enjoy the music. At times, there's even no difference.

I do assume you are a country purist? Heard some of you guys celebrated when Taylor Swift crossed over to pop. Lol.

2000 at the maximum...

The distance from calabar to obubra is a day journey so, you can Lodge any where, but calabar has the best hotel facilities and I doubt it if you will see a hotel in obubra.. There are places closer to obubra like ugep and ikom, you can Lodge there as well.. It all depends on your paroles..
Bros! The journey from Obubra to Calabar takes just three hours and not a whole day. Besides, Obubra is a local government area and there are hotels in the towns along the Calabar-Ikom highway in Obubra.

For those going from Onitsha, just board a bus going to Ikom and drop at Obubra junction. From there you take a bike directly to camp.

Mr Governor sir,
May I use this opportunity to welcome you back to Nigeria from China.
Sir, please be informed that while you were away I have developed and packaged 'Ewedu' powder (Jute leaves ppwder) for export to China. I believe this product will boost our foreign exchange.

Sir, our business deal with the Chinese should not be on importation alone, let us export our goods to them also.

Mr . Governor sir, I will appreciate if you could link me up with some Chinese investors you met during this trip of yours

Thank you.

Regards.

MasterEmmanu3l:
The series goes deep into the US politics. Hell, the president is Obama look like. Dealings with other nations is always mentioned, most especially the Pakistan government. You also get Military Scenes and quotes.

Hence, the series didn't get a second season..but it was blamed on something else, but we know..we all know why.

The show is coated with comedy and deeped in seriousness.

My advice? Watch it.
Any different from Commander-in-Chief?

That's if at that stage it happened, you know you're being molested.

Mine is a funny experience, it happened at yaba, I followed my roomies to do "bend down select", We got to the market, they were buying stuffs, and I stood close to a stall, staring, a man came to advertise clothes, I told him I wasn't interested, and then he stood at my back, but the closeness was too much, I took a step forward, minutes later, he came close to me and said " aunty, you con look for maga here"??

I didn't say anything, I noticed something strong close to my bum, minutes later, I told him to adjust, he said he's selling his goods, I stood and i wondered what was so strong close to my bum, but i knew it wasnt his hand, for the next ten minutes, he enjoyed himself, my roomies came and we went back to our hostel, I narrated everything that happened to me, they made fun of me, shame con dey catch me.

bottom line, standing there I never knew what molestation was.

And I have several other experiences and the last one I had, I didn't dissapoint my mum, I gave him a brain resetting slap.
Lol @ "brain-resetting slap."

It's not easy........
You need to have your head examined. Compared to 2014, Ekiti's IGR actually dropped in 2015 - a year when Fayose was in power from day 1 to day 365.
PoliticsRe: The Removal Of The Lagos-Calabar Rail: Ben Murray-Bruce Reacts On Twitter by Ghost01(m): 3:17pm On Apr 11, 2016
Awon olofo SINators. When they are even unaware of the details of the Bill submitted to them, how are they going to perform? According to Ashafa, the Lagos-Calabar railway wasn't included in the first padded budget that was submitted but after it was discovered that those in the Budget Office had tampered with the budget, the Presidency submitted an original copy and contained in it was the railway project which Amaechi later defended in from of the Transportation Committee. Also, according to Ashafa, the Lagos-Calabar railway project was contained in what the transport commitee submitted to the Appropriation Committee, but like what happened in the Budget Office, the details were tampered with again. This country has a lot of enemies and some of them are our so-called leaders. Little wonder they didn't want to release the details of the budget to the Executive.
