RomanceRe: Ladies: Reasons Why You Should Never "Woo" A Guy by ghostofsparta(m): 11:54pm On Jan 31, 2015
MzNelly:
"Woo" in this context means walking up to a guy and asking him to be more than a friend to you. Like.... "Will you be my boyfriend?" undecided

Now, why shouldn't you do that? Read on:

1. It's a man's world. Let HIM do the "chyking."

2. His respect for you will decrease, even if it's just a LITTLE, trust me.

3. There's a 99.9% chance he'll turn you down.

4. If he doesn't turn you down, he won't take you seriously.

5. If he does turn you down, his friends will hear about it. Get ready to be labelled all sorts of names. smiley

6. His ego will feel bruised. He's a man. All men like to feel on top of every situation.

7. There are tons of guys who'd ask you out. Must you do that to yourself? smiley

8. If you send him signals and he doesn't pick up on the hints, HE'S NOT INTO YOU.

9. Ignore these feminists. You and a man don't share any equal rights. Pfft.

10. It's Biblically wrong. You doubt? ---Genesis 3:16

"Woo" him at your own risk.

Shut it there! If you know me well, you will know I'm apolitical. What's my business with Buhari and your paymaster Jonathan. You think life revolves round APC vs PDP that you can not discern when your country is being belittled and insulted.

After 54 years, we still don't manufacture our weapons and have trained army personnels handling them, instead we are running helter skelter to procure arms because of boko are rams. Giant of Africa indeed!

Till you use your brain and start thinking beyond APC and PDP, You remain the real enemy of Nigeria.
I am also apolitical, for in other countries when politicians are playing politics, it result into issues getting resolved based on policies and ideology of the competing political parties, here in Nigeria where so-called politicians detest public debate, politics is a game of lies and deceit resulting into more poverty, social retrogression, moral decadence, wretched infrastructure, lack of basic necessity, imagine in 2014 still no stable electricity supply as I type this on my Blackberry running on the 4th battery. Nigeria, a 1914 British experiment of amalgam of incompatible ethnic group and as it today runs the most expensive democracy in the world and yet can boast of manufacturing needle.

Now if they don't import these military gears from abroad, how else would they see avenues to steal money through inflated contract ?

Reversibly my exact point for infact title of thread on NL front page should have been redacted as 'Nigerian' for instance, Why Police Are Police Mean is incorrect...it should have been 'Why Are Nigerian Police Mean', the other day we were watching on S MAX channel one of those 20 Top Blunder Shows entitled battling babes 2 and there was a clip where this crazy obese white lady misbehaving so much that he shoved aside an American soldier before getting into her car and drove away, and my friends were like...."she no fit try that for Nigeria, the soldier man go slap her" now you see a thread on NL front page entitled 'Why Are Soldiers So Brutal And Psychotic' when it should have been 'Why Are Nigerian Soldiers Brutal And Psychotic'...so Evina, those mentality listed are not mere assumptions but are truths peculiar only to 90% of Nigerian ladies, whether rich or poor, educated or not, skilled and un-skilled. The Igbo community is solidly behind Jimmy Agbaje. Go take a look at Alaba international market, Ladipo market, computer village, trade fair etc and you'll begin to wonder where our billions of tax remittance to Lagos state is going to. We are tired of APC propaganda, we need REAL change and development in our bussiness environment. Enough of Tinubu chokehold on Lagos state treasury. Enough of Tinubu's touts harrassing our containers, bussinesses and customers. Enough of Agbero, Alaye, NURTW, Owo Tinubu / Fashola collectors in Lagos. We deserve some sanity in our markets.
I am a supporter of no party in Nigeria for there are deceitful, however which what makes you think those in PDPs and other parties won't continue to impose on Lagosians this same oppression that Jagaban and his cohorts have long initiated and still running?

What makes you think if any other so called political party were to win Lagos, it would put an end to those issues that continue to strain commerce in Lagos, since you and I know Lagos ought to have catapulted far beyond what it is now.

Fabulous as it is though, it doesn't really give a specific solution to the plethora of problems 21st century Nigeria finds herself enmeshed in. Do you suggest a ban on Religion? Or a return to our 'old system of government' (Monarchy/Imperialism?) What are your thoughts on the way forward?
The way forward can carved only if we start to integrate the embraced westernism with certain aspect of the systems our ancestors employ to solve problems and manage their polity just like the Asians did.

Amefrica:
Hi guys, due to what's going on in our world at the moment, I think it's hightime we started loving each other. I had an encounter with racist people some weeks ago..

My flatmate (a Nigerian) and I went to the mall about some weeks ago to get our winter clothings and all, after we got all paid, we went to the bus-stand to wait for the bus - we got to the stand and met a Canadian man probably in his mid to late forties waiting for the bus too, I said "Hello, how you doing today? Nice weather, isn't it?" The man just bone face, he didn't even answer, my flatmate looked at me and we just acted like it didn't happen.

What he did next was something that irritated me. Immediately he packed his bags and went to the stand opposite us to meet a Canadian woman sitting down too, we didn't give 2 hoots until they started saying some things we couldn't hear, laughing uncontrollably and pointing fingers right at us. My mate got infuriated and wanted to confront them I calmed him down, that they were just ignorant. Few minutes later, the bus came they got on the bus, me and my mate intentionally sat next to them, lo and behold they stood up and went way back to the end of the bus. I was just shaking my head!

For real, racism has got to stop. You have different wardrobes of many colours, can't God have humans with different colours too?

Tho, I've met so many respectful, kind, nice people here. When I told my female bestfriend who is a Canadian too, she asked me to describe them, that she wants to kick their a'ss, I just told her not to worry. I really wish racism could end for good. We have to learn to live and tolerate each other, irrespective of race, religion etc..
Now based on your misinterpreted experience to which I see no racism exhibited from those Canadian folks. Supposing, what if those white folks behaved exactly the same way as you've described to two other foreigners like you and your friend but only that they are whites like them, should that be called racism? Speaking of racism itself, I have often told friends in abroad that it is the sort of mentality some Nigerians carry on with them to foreign lands that when expressed unknowingly tend to always give rise to attitudes from those whites that can be deemed racist. It is induced from other.

Instead of the mods to place thoroguhly enlightening and thought provoking topics like THIS on front page, there are inserting topics that appeals to them on front page. If you want to read about racism that still occurs to us African blacks today, then go read Arab Slavery of Black Africans

WebmastersRe: Registering Nigerian TLD .ng by ghostofsparta(m):
BOLAJIAJANI:
@MissMeiya, I believe you already know why it's expensive(@bold). .ng TLDs have lots of potentials, and they are really good for domain hack which you stated above.

I would gladly pay for a .ng or any TLD(I can use to make a perfect domain hack) even if it's $200, if I have the resources to make one of my ideas work.

Meanwhile, I believe it is plain silly to pay that much for .ng, if you are not really making that much from your website. And I'm sure some people would pay for .ng when other TLD(s) are better suited for the job. Na dem sabi.
I liked your post which is somehow closer to the same thought I later arrived on. Initially, the first time I discovered that the cost attached to a .ng domain hack is ridiculously expensive or so it seemed, now on the hindsight I realized that NiRA got it right, had it been to obtaining a .ng ccTLD had been that affordable, some sleazies would just have easily registered most of the juicy names one can think of, only to cyber-squat them for profit like the owner of gbanjo.com. But by making .ng very expensive is a way of reserving it for the genuine business people and serious-minded web developer/designer who knows the worth of the exclusive TLD.

MissMeiya:
I guess we see this subject differently. See my OP and previous comments in this thread for my thoughts on the issue.
I dig and honestly relate to all the point you've raised, believe me I was more furious than you when I came to this knowledge regarding this particular name hack which is unique, however can you look at it from another perspective, an angle that if .ng was pegged at a price a little bit more or less than the usual cost of the .com TLD then you would be ignoring the fact that not only is .com the most sought after default for any prospective web address but also because given to it popularity and general acceptability for various types of web service, hence has the largest number of users, hence it cheap rate. Do you know that, in the early days of the dot.com blow-out, some where smart enough to register unique names with .com TLD only to reserve it for the highest bidder. At $2million ($350million in stock) it so happened that business.com became the most expensive domain name ever bought by a company from an individual. Now, that's what I think NiRA is guarding against, they sold ThisDAY.ng to the tabloid company for an amount which if it were to be registered to you and later approached by the news company for a re-purchase, who is going to stop you from charging them a stupendous amount, after all there's no cyberlaw against cyber-squatting here in Nigeria as it is in the USA. You'd probably think.... 'dem get money na, so make dem pay if dem really want it so badly'. Someone still cybersquats at lindaikeji.com while she on the other hand refuse to purchase it from him despite her worth. I suspect egocentricity in play.

Actually I'm not an atheist but an a'theist, A'theist = Aborisha theist. And I believe in the henotheistic coexistence of the Gods however not in the anthropomorphic and intervening model as monotheistic religions idealizes them. I believe my ancient ancestors did a thorough study of all the forces of nature by investigating them through the millennia, and after perfectly understanding them, personified them into deities, or Gods in order to aid interaction. They are nothing but forces of tremendous energies which at different frequencies and level give rises to what can be considered supernatural. Our IFA believe system is the ultimate in the world when it comes to he articulation of these energies and forces yet unknown to science for science choose to be only empirical based, while an aspect of IFA called is ISEGUN (craft of oguun) melds both empirial-based science with metaphysicism resulting into thousands of esoteric knowledge's to which are known to the Oniseguns of various ISEGUN speciality. That is why, I Amos Nonyu, a scientific researcher and investigator of the efficacies of Yorubaland claims of the supernatural, refuse to cal the product or service of ISEGUN a derogatory term called 'juju' but Yoruba Advanced Sciences. I'm penning a thorough and well researched book geared to enlighten both atheists and religionists on what exactly was it, our ancient African ancestors were into, that they got wrong. She gave her two slaps for not swallowing in time, force-fed her more, the child abuser ate her food while the baby waved her hands to protest as she couldn't help it than to vomit on the floor. The toddler hater of a nanny responded by throwing her to the concrete floor before descending to spank her with the handle of a torch lite, stomped her severally, kicked her like a ball before taking her away, stomped her more before whisking her away for more admonishing.

This is the result of what Abrahamic religions bestows onto our African society, because when serious offenders like this throughout Africa are caught after in the act of pilfering, molesting, etc the next thing they like to say oes along with what is likely for her to say......."Ha! Truth is female don't get initiated into Ifa system. Only males se-Ifa (stage 1) and te-Ifa (stage 2). You can be initiated into any of the other Orisha ways, and still become an Iyanifa, besides IFA is central to all 400 divinities. Anyone is free to consult IFA too regardless of whether you are an initiate or not.
