On the early morning hours of Wednesday the 10th...Maxy of 96.9 Cool FM co-oped with Nelly of 99.3FM Nigeria Info on her FamilySeries talk show. They both made an excellent duo over an impromptu topic about abusive relationships. Somehow their interesting chatter centered on affronts in relationships to which any keen listener could sense how their discussions tilted towards nailing the blame on the male folk as expected, to which the few (males) who called in mildly disagreed. I tried calling in to voice my opinion but I'm happy my call wasn't picked else this blogpost won't exist. Well...I know for sure that there are several reasons why assaults may occur in any defined relationship, no gender should be solely accused since it usually stems from succession of unresolved, pent-up misapprehensions mostly manifested as physical outburst, regardless of which, you may be quite astonished to know that, most Nigerian females in a budding or active relationship would have at one time or more, give in to a sort of wanton masochistic need to be tamed, they achieve this by pushing their male partners to an emotional precipice called provocation. They don't get to see taste limit of his threshold by nagging the composure out of him, no, not my Naija ladies, they do better than the naggiest elsewhere, the species here are just naturally good in knowing what to say or do to get under even the thickest nerves, and nothing really can be done about it. Haba! guys, this isn't some misogynistic rant and I don't expect you to be taken aback, you have to understand it's a psycho-sexual thing only Freud could clarify better, you just have to figure out how to manage the ones with the tendency if it so happen you're that unlucky and that's considering if her assets (physical and non-physical qualities) is wort clinging to (IMO). The into-to of this matter is that there are several reasons to suspect that we males gets emotionally abused or physically attacked by girlfriends and spouses more than we could possibly admit both publicly and inwardly. I will state one out of my few experiences, a particular incident which happened to me couple of years ago, and the rest which are bound to so happen in my future. There used to be this female friend of mine who probably because is a relative to the people I was temporary work for, she frequented my station to frolic (which I sort of liked) but the twisted thing is, in spite of her unrelenting lewd advances, she always find my shoulder convenient to always cry on whenever she needs to quell off the recurring heartbreaks in her lovelorn relationship with her so-called lover-boy, it is was a failing relationship she kept enduring to make work for she much believed it could still function as it once was (her claim), however instead, only to eventually makes the worst out of her. Oh my! oh my! She made me dislike tears, for the way she shed hers was horrifyingly remarkable! It was the day I decided to put an end to her sick lascivious teases by questioning her tiring, much repeated sexual superiority in a poking yet challenging manner, she responded abruptly to my face with a resounding roundabout slap (Gboa!). It was public, we were heading back from a fast-food, I felt quite embarrassed but no one saw it sha, except the iron black gate at the entrance. Should I have replied her by descending few punches on her jugs? I'm not into lady-beating (only spanking eh!). Should I have reacted by shouting down on her, at least just to unsettle her? Well...no, being the female she was, I thought. I can tell you guys that a Nigerianess' first attack really counts a lot as it could be discombobulating to even the meanest of boxer, especially if it's sudden and heavy, wimp or not, no joke. So there you have it our womenfolks have done us more 'assaulting' than our society care to take note of, no need highlighting other subterfuge they employ to justify an abuse, and sometimes very adroit in mount offense on males perceived as wimpish in our schools. Ha! I remember Kristana, the juggernaut she-iron from secondary school, terrorizing boys from SS1 through SS3, this somehow attractive Edo classmate looks more meaner, imposing and combative than both Gina Carano and Chyna put together. Always stomping the class floor with her huge right to remind the forgetful of her puissance. I'm beginning to think she might be the inspiration behind Jennifer Lopez's 'Enough', difference is our pretty, chocolate-skinned Kristy wouldn't have liked J-Lo's character to be using self-defense as an excuse for any female to be pugnacious. Now I'm reminded of the alluring kick-ass female cop - Cynthia Rothrock back in the days, she always gets the job done, and with less violence than the Umar Thurman's character in the Kill Bill movies, C.R. is an original martial-artist/actress whose moves are genuinely sexier than those tits-n-teeth fighters in Bitch Slap, with the exception that she can't be as sexy as those amazons in my bimbo-packed, all time erotica 'Sucker Punch'. Slavery in the Arab World Murray Gordon New Amsterdam Books, New York, NY 1989 In his fact-filled work on the history of the Muslim Arab slave trade in Africa, Murray Gordon notes that this trade pre-dated the European Christian African slave trade by a thousand years and continued for more than a century after the Europeans had abolished the practice. Gordon estimates the number of slaves “harvested” from Black Africa over the period of the Muslim Arab slave trade at 11 million – roughly equal to the number taken by European Christians for their colonies in the New World. “Despite the long history of slavery in the Arab World and in other Muslim lands, little has been written about this tragedy,” writes Gordon in his introduction. “Except for the few abolitionists, mainly in England, who railed against Arab slavery and put pressure upon Western governments to end the traffic in slaves, the issue has all but been ignored in the West.” ‘Conspiracy of Silence’ on Arab Slave Trade Gordon decries a “conspiracy of silence. . .[that] has blocked out all light on this sensitive subject.” Among scholars in the Arab world, the author points out, “No moral opprobrium has clung to slavery since it was sanctioned by the Koran and enjoyed an undisputed place in Arab society.” The book starts out with a brief outline of the growth of the Islamic attitude toward slavery. There is no evidence that Muhammad sought to abolish slavery, notes Gordon, although he urged slave-owners to treat their slaves well and grant them freedom as a meritorious deed. “Some Muslim scholars have taken this to mean that his true motive was to bring about a gradual elimination of slavery. Far more persuasive is the argument that by lending the moral authority of Islam to slavery, Muhammad assured its legitimacy. Thus, in lightening the fetter, he riveted it ever more firmly in place.” High Rate of Black African Casualties While Gordon acknowledges that at times the Islamic version of slavery could be more “humane” than the European colonial version, he provides many facts which point out that the Muslim variety of slavery could be extremely cruel as well. One particularly brutal practice was the mutilation of young African boys, sometimes no more than 9 or ten years old, to create eunuchs, who brought a higher price in the slave markets of the Middle East. Slave traders often created “eunuch stations” along the major African slave routes where the necessary surgery was performed in unsanitary conditions. Gordon estimates that only one out of every 10 boys subjected to the mutilation actually survived the surgery. The taking of slaves – in razzias, or raids, on peaceful African villages – also had a high casualty rate. Gordon notes that the typical practice was to conduct a pre-dawn raid on an unsuspecting village and kill off as many of the men and older women as possible. Young women and children were then abducted as the preferred “booty” for the raiders. Young women were targeted because of their value as concubines or sex slaves in markets. “The most common and enduring purpose for acquiring slaves in the Arab world was to exploit them for sexual purposes,” writes Gordon. “These women were nothing less than sexual objects who, with some limitations, were expected to make themselves available to their owners. . .Islamic law, as already noted, catered to the sexual interests of a man by allowing him to take as many as four wives at one time and to have as many concubines as his purse allowed.” Young women and girls were often “inspected” before purchase in private areas of the slave market by the prospective buyer. Racism Toward Black Africans Some of Gordon’s research disputes the oft-repeated charge that racism did not play a part in Islamic slave society. While it is true that the Muslims of the Middle East took slaves of all colors and ethnicities, they considered white slaves more valuable than black ones and developed racist attitudes toward the darker skinned people. Even the famous Arab philosopher Ibn Khaldun, expressed racist attitudes toward black Africans: “The only people who accept slavery are the Negroes, owing to their low degree of humanity and their proximity to the animal stage,” Khaldun wrote. Another Arab writer, of the 14th Century, asked: “Is there anything more vile than black slaves, of less good and more evil than they?” Gordon covers the Arab/African slave trades up until the mid-20th Century, noting that Saudi Arabia only abolished the practice in the early 1960s. Unlike the European nations and the USA, the Arab nations did not abolish African slavery voluntarily out of moral conscience, but due to considerable economic and military pressure applied by the great colonial powers of time, France and Britain. Slavery is still practiced in two Islamic nations: The Sudan and Mauritania. Further reading about the Arab/Muslim slave trades can be found in the following book: Race and Slavery in the Middle East Bernard Lewis Oxford University Press (Trade); Reprint edition (April 1992) An excerpt from this book can be found here http://www.fordham.edu/halsall/med/lewis1.html To learn more about the 21st Century slave conditions in The Sudan and Mauritania, please visit www.iabolish.org # # # White Slaves, African Masters An Anthology of American Barbary Captivity Narratives Edited and with an introduction by Paul Baepler The University of Chicago Press 1999 This book illuminates a subject once well-known in the history of the West but which is now somewhat neglected: the enslavement, over several centuries, of tens of thousands of white Christian Europeans and (later) Americans in Muslim North Africa -- or the so-called “Barbary” states of Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Tripoli. Over the course of 10 centuries, tens of thousands of these unfortunates became the possessions of Muslims in North Africa courtesy of the feared Barbary pirates. These pirates cruised the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean in search of European and, later, American ships to pillage and plunder. Edited by a lecturer at the University of Minnesota, Paul Baepler, this book focuses on first-person accounts of American Christians who served as slaves to high-ranking Muslim officials in North Africa. Baepler also provides fascinating background commentary that puts the narratives into historical perspective. He includes two “fictional” narratives of female captives. (According to Baepler, Christian women captives of the Barbary states – unlike male captives – usually did not publish their testimonies under their real names, due to the fact that many of them had been “dishonored” by service in the harems of Barbary potentates.) As Baepler notes in his introduction, Christian slaves of European ancestry were hardly an uncommon phenomenon in the Barbary States. The Barbary pirates were excellent seafarers and, from the Coasts of North Africa, sailed as far north as Iceland (where they went ashore and captured 800 slaves during one incident) and as far West as Newfoundland, Canada, where they pillaged more than 40 vessels at one time. By 1620, reports Baepler, there were more than 20,000 white Christian slaves in Algiers alone, and by the 1630s that number tolled more than 30,000 men and 2,000 women. The most famous of all white Christian Europeans to serve as a slave in the Barbary States was probably Miguel de Cervantes, the great Spanish author of the “Don Quixote” epic, who was taken as a slave in the late 1500s. An Important Source of Revenue European and (later on) American slaves appeared to have been important source of foreign revenue for the local economies for several centuries. First, European and (later) American governments paid huge sums in “tribute” to the Muslim governments in exchange for “peace treaties” that were supposed to halt the pirate attacks on their trading and naval ships. Those nations who did not pay suffered the consequences. Second, enslaved Europeans and Americans were often redeemed for a handsome ransom. And third, even if the Muslim governments received no “tribute” or ransom, they still benefited from the unpaid labor of their captives. Baepler quotes a Barbary Coast maxim that illustrates the viewpoints of the pirates and their sponsoring states: “The Christians who would be on good terms with [the Barbary States] must [either] fight well or pay well.” The first-person narratives reproduced in this book do not support the often-repeated contention that slavery was somehow a more human institution in the Islamic world than it was in the European colonies of the New World. By and large, the Christian slaves were poorly fed and housed, existing, by one account, on a meager ration of two slices of bread and a small quantity of beans per day. Clothing – and medical care -- was provided by sympathetic free Europeans living in North Africa; slave-owners provided nothing. Spanish Catholic priests even built a large hospital in Algeria to look after ill and dying Christian slaves. The most popular punishment was the “bastinado” – hundreds of blows on the soles of the feet with a thick wooden truncheon. For more severe offenses, such as attempting to escape or ridiculing the Muslim religion or prophet, slaves were executed in particularly cruel ways: by crucifixion, burning at the stake or impalement on huge iron hooks until death. The narrators of these slave accounts witnessed many acts of brutality toward the Christian slaves, as well as toward the general North African populace ruled over by the elite: the beys, deys and bashaws of the Barbary States. Baepler quotes from, but does not include, the narrative of one James Riley, an American Barbary captive of the early 1800s who published a book about his experiences upon returning to the United States. The book became an influential “best-seller” in the young nation of the USA and influenced those Americans who worked for abolition of the shameful practice of Black African slavery in the Southern States of the USA. Riley’s book was said to have greatly influenced one young lawyer named Abraham Lincoln, who, as 16th president of the United States, signed the Emancipation Proclamation abolishing slavery in the U.S. in 1863. As for the Barbary pirate slave trade, it continued sporadically up until the dawn of the 20th Century, and was not abolished until military and economic pressure was applied by the colonial powers of Europe (with, in come cases, assistance from the military might of the USA). source here

jennylove7575: I still stood my grounds that the name "Nollywood" made the nigeria movie industry look mediocre and exposed to underrating. That name should be changed to NIGERIA CINEMA. For once we should be proud of what we have. All this unnecessary borrowed foreign names wannabe we are fond of copying, ain't good for business. The name Nollywood made the movie industry look third class, over the top, unserious, lack of confidence in our product and a child's play. Nigeria movie industry need support to grow, its an obvious fact. But they should start by using their head to work. Too many illiterates with goofy talents are dwelling in the industry. The "me first" tradition in the industry ain't helping matters either... sycamore: it has been scientifically* proven the Nollywood Movies reduce your IQ^BEST 2 COMMENTS SO FAR InvertedHammer: /As usual your comments are not only hilariously on point but out of this world. Gboliwe: and poointlessly boringThanks for notifying me so, more importantly we appreciate you and nwaobitex for making yourselves known as those whom the topic is referring to. How can you guys rid yourselves off this slavish way of thinking, because it's obvious you're in support of Abrahamic religion else you could have just read it and chose not to comment at all or state your reason why you'd disagree. Do you have any idea how many Nigerians are rotten away in Israeli prisons or how many Africans have had their limbs amputated for one misdeed or the other? You and I know that Nigeria is the most religious colonial nation on this planet, Nigerians who believe in these middle-eastern idols more than those who are living in their originating nations and then why haven't Yahweh or Allah elevated Nigeria to their status in terms of security (Israel) and Saudi Arabia (Oil economy) such that no one would have the need to travel out to other country to commit crime? |
^ On Google there, it says... ..."I am Yahweh your Idol, who brought you out of..." Now someone should tell us how Yahweh spoke, did they see his mouth talking? Don't say through the spirit he speaketh to the heart, because I would tell you I have hallucinated before and did experienced a lot of weird altered perception to which I might have attributed to a deity or god or spirits if I was a religious zealot, hadn't I knew better. Neuroscience, pharmacogenomics, pharmacokinetics and pharmacotherapy can explain how hallucinogenic substance affects the CNS such that it makes one vividly experience that aspect of one's self-suggestive imagination core which wouldn't be different from someone claiming to be vessel of divine revelation and message. |
maynation: What's ur point? My point is why would you an African, perhaps a Yoruba or an Hausa or a Igbo on Nairaland, could so believe "the national god of an Iron Age kingdoms of Judah(then) and Israel(today) is what we should all be praying to, begging for solution to our societal problems and be referring to as the ultimate authority to guide the African way of life, same to the Arabic idols of a deity. I have watched documentary that even explained Yahweh and Allah as a Bronze Age idol.

Africa, particularly Nigeria will never be on the same industrialized level as the progressing and technologically advanced Asians who are strongly in touch with their pagan/traditional root, for it is unfortunate that someone like the OP and the other who listed Arabic names of an Arab idols happen to be in the majority in this colonial nation and in it government. How can we move forward? It is appalling to see that the minds of my fellow youths has been irredeemably conditioned by their equally brainwashed parents and the profit-making, jet-owning pastors and religious houses to believe Jehovah and or Allah of the Jewish and Arabic tribes are our salvation and the ONLY solution to our multifaceted problems, while failing to realize that despite the so called leaders of Nigeria who keep swearing oath with either of the two Holy Book these Abrahamic idols are based on before assuming public office, nevertheless still continue to indulge in heinous corruption borne out of utter greed, why can't the citizenry see that it is because these humans in government have seen and tested that no Jesus nor Mohammed nor Allah nor Yahweh has done anything to punish them, nor has there been any angel nor malak sent to descend from heaven or al-jana to deal with them for swearing on the names of their master, and as a result there's extreme retrogression in the country and could continue to be. For instance no stable electricity supply ever since the colonials left, death traps of horrible roads and deplorable streets everywhere, lack of social amenities and basic infrastructures that any modern society is defined by such as uninterrupted electricity supply instead of generator importation, absence of mass transit achievable through functioning railway system network as there are all over Europe, Canada, France, USA, UAE etc but instead the same adopted Abrahamic religions is constantly utilized by the leaders of Christendom and Islamdom in Nigeria to knowingly (but unconcerned) plunge the republic deeper into an anomic society by continuing to sweet-preach their followers with the materialistic notion that the proof of God's blessing in their lives is if they can acquire fortune and wealth (by any means provided tithes and offerings are regularly paid), drive excellent cars (that we don't manufacture but import fairly used ones mostly), then what threat should the unavailability of electricity supply pose when you can buy the best electric generator or the biggest diesel plant (which is another import depended industry in Nigeria). Thanks to the religion-cum leadership of Nigerian, the youths are becoming more decadent as trends passes by, check out the sort of lewd musicals and musical videos churning out here and there, the kinds of lascivious "boskona/bendown-select" apparels imported massively for our female-folks to exhibit their features for irresponsible married men who flash the cash looted from whatever branch of the government or private sector they may have corruptly fixed themselves into via man-know-man, clique-pact or intimidation breeding more incompetency and perpetually driving a cycle of square pegs in round holes system to which when the heat is hot they remember to resort to the diabolic aspect of our various indigenous mysticism. It is part of human nature to be sympathetic, violent, loyal, lustful, greedy, dishonest, angry, loving, aggressive etc because they are all constructed from the emotion triggered by either a physical or psychological stimuli and to which each and every society of the world have devised various ways to curb this mortal proclivities such as the rustic but effective 'check and balance' system of our distant ancestors to the different forms of governments perfected over centuries by the whites to suit their style of living without relating it to religion for they understood religion as something meant to private. Now that these colonially borrowed governments is adopted in Nigeria and fused with Abrahamic religions, Nigeria can never work, and if you think it will one day, then where's the sign, from plane crashes, to crippled national security resulting to internal terrorism (Boko Haram) to kidnapping and armed robberies (unemployment), to inadequate health systems (ebola and malaria surge) etc. There would still be cases of embezzlement and misappropriation of public funds for ours is a breed of humankind that doesn't understand the colonial concept of the rule of law of a given constitution as they do in those country where these concepts where created and perfected to manage and govern their society, hence various kinds of government and system of rule that best suit them, now to import that here to use and apply will never WORK for ours are the lawbreaking lawmakers who with impunity still continue to trample over the oppressed and widen the gap between the filthy rich and the pauperized poor class. Hence it should suffice that the only solution is the re-invention of our ancestral check and balance that our ancestors used in ancient times to suppress and eventually kill any corrupt disposition by making any would-be candidate to pledge his/her manifestos by swearing a binding oath never to do so, so and so in the contactivated presence of sixteen to thirty two of the native deities of the land that whatsoever way shall be taken to reverse it should bring forth a wrath so devastating his/her beloved ones shall perish because EKWENSU and OGUN and ISHOKI and AZIZA and SANGO and MAZHILLI and CHIDON and SHOPONA and AYILALA and MAGIRO and OSISIKANKWU and OGHENE and OKIJA and AMADIOHA and eighteen other aggressive deities are more than up to the task, all they just need to do is to steal a penny and the result is seen instanta! The difference between all our various native deities who are all subject to OLODUMARE/ABASI/CHUKWU/UBANGIJI/ and the idols called Allah and Yahweh(Jehovah) is that no one needs to behead any oath violator as it is proudly carried out in Saudi Arabia, no one needs to defend these native deities of our ancestral lands which our ancestors used to govern their society peacefully centuries before the advent of the missionaries and jihadists who used deception to demonize what we had and usurp our lands and enslave our mind and reasoning process. The native deities are automatic after been configured towards a specific task. But unfortunately the generations of today are bereft of the cultural knowledge associated to each and every one these deities and will instead make list of all the names the Arabs calls an elevated idol from the Quraysh tribe and the Jews call a Canaanite idol from a Semitic tribe called Judah. |

Hence it should suffice that the only solution is the re-invention of the traditional check and balance that our ancestors used in ancient times to suppress and eventually kill any corrupt disposition by making any would-be candidate to pledge his/her manifestos by swearing a binding oath never to do so, so and so in the contactivated presence of sixteen to thirty two of the native deities of the land that whatsoever a way shall be taken to reverse it should bring forth a wrath so devastating his/her beloved ones shall perish for EKWENSU and OGUN and ISHOKI and AZIZA and SANGO and MAZHILLI and CHIDON and SHOPONA and AYILALA and MAGIRO and OSISIKANKWU and OGHENE and OKIJA and AMADIOHA and eighteen other aggressive deities are more than up to the task, all they just need to do is to steal a penny and the result is seen instanta! The difference between all our various native deities who are all subject to OLODUMARE/ABASI/CHUKWU/UBANGIJI/ and the idols called Allah and Yahweh(Jehovah) is that no one needs to behead any oath violator as it proudly carried out in Saudi Arabia, no one needs to defend these native deities of our ancestral lands which our ancestors used to govern their society peacefully centuries before the advent of the missionaries and jihadists who used deception to demonize what we had and usurp our lands and enslave our thought process. The native deities are automatic after been configured towards a specific task. But unfortunately the generations of today are bereft of the native knowledge associated with these deities and will instead make list of all the names the Arabs calls an elevated idol from the Quraysh tribe and the Jews call a Canaanite idol from a semitic tribe. @Topic: Dolemite: It's very boring down here, this use to be my favorite joint to come see creativity, no cool works on here recently, why?Fret not my dole for I shall do something about it. |
SweetyZinta: what makes you think dat was an intelligent write up? How come it didn't make FP? ALLAH said when d endtime comes alot of Unknowledgeable people will spread #Falsehood just d way u're doing. May Allah guide u aright.O! My dear SweetyZinta, how so you are this brainwashed? "Allah said" indeed, who really saw him speak? By the way, are you an Arab? or a Jew? |
Idrismusty97: I have seen insults a hundred times worst from your fellow Yorubas. I don't have time to start looking for links but you should spend more time in the politics section. You can go through the post of a certain yoruba guy called Anago(He has numbers in his name which i can't remember). At least the guy you quoted call the Oba a dog, How about the Yorubas that would wish death on the entire Igbo lineage. Of course you wouldn't see that because they are your fellow Yoruba brothers, you wouldn't caution them. But when the Igbos retaliate you start whining. I am not in support of any form of ethnic bashing too even if it is retaliation. But your portraying of the Yorubas as the victims is flaw. You should also go through the posts of other yorubas like Eggheaders, raphead etcIt is foolhardy to believe all presenting themselves as Yoruba on this faceless forum are actually Yorubas. Most use Yoruba memes/names/ID to imply a Yoruba connection but only to mislead, provoke issues, nurture grudges and incite hatred from actual non-Yorubas viewing a topic. I know people like that in real life who passes themselves off as Yoruba because they do speak it fluently but are from other ethnicity. If a non-Yoruba happen to do business or be in a relationship with such a person with English name, and something palatable happened, they'd conclude all Yorubas are of such. |

red101: very funnyI know it's hilarious but I think amongst other influence Westernism exerts on me, I'm pro-America like that knowing a lot consider the genre and its several sub "devilish" here) , and why are most life-threatening virus discovered in Afrika? Can't we see there's an undertone to such discoveries thehomer: I've not twisted anything. I've assessed the credibility of the message and found the message to be worthless. What is worthless about those information? I don't think you read it, or you did but still just want to argue over nothing. Until you post statement from there and convincingly confute it here, I wouldn't think them worthless. thehomer: No thanks. I'd rather stay away from conspiracy theory sites.Let's be real here, it's no more a theory if the conspiracy/plot/mastermind/motive is or has been proven to be real or factual. Besides, the theory many subject are based upon can be deem conspiratorial in many of such websites but not all the ones in that sites which I never bothered to read despite engaging, most are just too silly to even consider I agree, but very few are worth it when one has already pondered on them before. I know someone in Lagos who could kill anyone trying to tell him he never really saw an UFO, and yet he doesn't believe in the existence or efficacy of JUJU/YAS, doubt if he even read books on UFO but he claimed he's seen one with many witnesses who never it was an UFO hovering at a particular famous market place before sped off, he knew it was an UFO because he's familiar with them on documentaries, regardless of his adamant claim, I don't research nor comb for plausibility on UFO conspiracy theory sites, but if something happens in Yorubaland concerning UFOs, I will surely dig all the graveyard of the internet to see if dots can be connected with the aid of critical analysis. thehomer: Are you seriously telling me that you'll believe anything you read online? I looked up the company on Wikipedia and it talks about Libya there. Read it.Wikipedia is excellent and quite unmatchable but it isn't the ultimate reliable source. thehomer: Actually it is a serious counter point. The fact that you didn't hear about it doesn't mean it wasn't happening. Secondly, have you ever heard of Lassa fever? Or leptospirosis? The fact that you were ignorant about viruses doesn't mean that they weren't there.Yes I have but before deliberating on why they are always fond of designating the name of the geographical area they are discovered in Afrika to a virus such as Lassa in Borno and Ebola in Congo...do you know the Lassa virus as been weaponized by re-engineering and bottled up? Just like the Anthrax? thehomer: Seriously take a look at the other topics on that site. Looks like that guy doesn't even think humans went to the moon. You really need to take a closer look at your sources.Like I already typed, I don't dwell in conspiracy theories, check all my past post to see, I am more of a realistic researcher, amongst other genres there are tons of books on conspiracy and mysterious deaths and happenings where I stay, and on YouTube, I just read, watch and leave it there, I don't venture deep into them, I have been reading Stranger Than Fiction, Bizzare Phenomenon series, Moon Landing Hoax, Big Foot, Yeti/Abominable Snow Man, Area 51 etc since a kid but now, don't find them more interesting to pursue nor worthier than countless Yoruba Advanced Sciences that even all the scientists/physicist of the world can never cover/analyze in five life times. If it's about Snowden or Asange, only to an extent. |
The problem we have in Nigeria is not tribalism as everyone erroneously tend to believe but TRIBAL DISCRIMINATION which all our problems seems to be shaped from, everyone keep mentioning "tribalistic" and "tribalism" as a bad thing when in fact every tribal containing nations/countries of the world are tribalistic! To be tribalistic is to acknowledge the existence of ones own tribe by identifying with its culture and customs through bearing of an indigenous name, greeting styles, dressing code, food peculiarity, dance types etc just as we have the Scottish tribe in Scotland who wear what may seem hilarious to some Nigerians as a woman skirt, but it's their culture just as the Chinese use chop stick to eat and the Japanese wears their Wafuku among which is the popular 'Kimono', it's all tribalistic as the Yorubas can be identified tribally to their native apparel such as the abeti-aja cap and the Ankara, Agbada, Adire amongst other several indigenous attire peculiar to other tribal societies throughout the world. As a matter of the fact, the central figures in the Abrahamic religions of Christianity and Islam; Jesus and Mohammed clearly acknowledged and identified with their respective tribes, Mohammed who is from the Quraysh tribe and Jesus of Judah tribe, both of which belong to the Semitic race. It unbecoming to hear many Nigerians who get lots of things twisted, things they don't bother to really understand as soon as it is reigning aloud, and it is what eats at us amongst other. An Bendel Christian convert may in one instance quote "...sent to the 12 tribes of Judah" wherin some Bible replaced the tribes with "lost" while in another instance castigate an Igbo man as been tribalistic for chirping "Igbo Kwenu", it may be unknown to a Yoruba who bears Gbenga and enjoys eating Amala/Gbegiri that he's been tribalistic and yet shouts down on anyone attempting to portray a unique feature of where he/she hails from. These and several of reaction stems from the unfortunate forceful union otherwise known as the Amalgamated Ethnicities of Nigeria where it has been anti-tribal exhibition, Nigeria as an entity has always downplayed the glorification of its various tribes in elevation of a false sense of patriotism sustained by the the dissemination of the same "tribalism" that Zik said should be "A Pragmatic Instrument for National Unity" as a frightful disintegrator. We have the Gaulish tribes in France, infact Europeans are proudly tribalistic in numerous ways, for instance note the 'land' in Scotland, Ireland, Deutschland, England, Netherlands, Finland etc, they are all to indicate this lands belongs to some particular tribes. How many of Nigerian youths who are addicted to Europeans football, specifically the EPL/Barclay realizes those clubs, well may technically be representing their respective cities/towns but are actually representing their ancient tribes, even the tribalistic Romans despite their conquest of Britania in 43 A.D. did acknowledged all the tribes of the Celtic ethnic inhabitants by making records of the distinctive tribes they met there in then Britania. Ever since, in England till tomorrow, their country's military institutions forever still acknowledges various of these tribes in respect to the Manchester Brigade, Liverpool Battalion etc in order to express gratitude for those respective tribe to have given their member to the service of the nation, various of their tribe are also acknowledge, distinguished and identified through their emblem, insignia, badge, idiosyncrasies, tribal dialectical distinctiveness and the continuous celebration of cultural festivities which they observe not only in England but all over tribal Europe. Check here to view popular tribes throughout the world. The Nigerian problem is TRIBAL/ETHNIC DISCRIMINATION which is entirely different from TRIBALISM/TRIBALISTIC as explained above. To be tribally discriminate is to favor one own's tribe in every respect, it is to consider first one's own ethnicity when sworn into a public post, and due to the way Nigeria was forged out of a colonial experiment, that is, the forceful union of incompatible ethnic groups, I am afraid tribal/ethnic discrimination can never stop, unless we either do what is done in countries who have adopted some elements of western form of government and adapted to their traditional native ways of government such as in China and Japan. What I am saying is for everyone to clamor for the so-called and any would-be leader, be it, a minister, commissioner, senator, LCG chairman, governor, president to be made to swear an oath under the presence of 32 different indigenous deities never to embezzle, launder, loot public funds in whatsoever way such that if any means is taken to appease just one of these 32 sworn-over deities, let so, so and so wrath be met upon his family and those who he cherish. This will be done under not under closed doors but in the public such that it will be televised for all to see, and also the priests officiating this incentive conditions are sourced by independent people and not those of their chosen which will definitely be a fake one. This measure will not only allow true leaders to emerge and rule us, but will transform our nation and change our long suffering course and onto a higher ground such that the whole world will be in disbelieve seeing how far we've transformed given such few years. It cost less, it does more. I know some Nigerians know this will work as proven here but are either afraid to admit it or somehow benefit from the status-quo while other Nigerians think it would/may not work given their level of understanding of the ways of our tribal ancestors. Our tribal ancestors governed their lands to a somewhat stable far back beyond period when even the tribal Brits (Celts), Saxons, Angles etc where still living in caves and wearing animal hides. It is either we do this or Nigeria should peacefully de-amalgamate to its respective ethnically owned regions wherein I hope the State would be created and named as per tribe that time around. If any of this two compromise can't be reached, then as Fela sang...."Suffering and smiling". With these few points, I hope I am not only able to convince some Nigerian youths to see reason but allowed to opined that despite the trend of things in this country to which it seems some are fully or quite ready to split off to have their own country, it is ironical that it is the Yorubas that are agitating most for the preservation of one Nigeria and are obviously cementing it together with their blood. Yorubas are approximately 40million in population, and almost are the Igbos, both of which are fit alone to determine their fate in a nation of their creating, go to the Olympics on their common tribal identity and sit at the UN summit like the following country(population) does: Vatican City 839 Dominica 1,293 Iceland 325,671 Cyprus 838,897 Liechtenstein 37,132 Monaco 36,371 Andorra 78,115 Seychelles 92,000 Iceland 325,671 UAE/Dubai 9,205,651 Estonia 1,315,819 Latvia 1,997,500 Kuwait 3,965,000 Uruguay 3,324,460 Lebanon 4,822,000 Canada 35,427,52 Belgium 11,198,638 Hungary 9,879,000 Poland 38,186,860 Cuba 11,167,325 Greece 10,816,286 Costa-Rica 4,586,353 Switzerland 8,014,000 https://www.heritage-history.com/books/marshall/island/zpage006.gif Celtic native tribes of ancient Britania awaiting their fate from their Roman conquerors in ships, same Brits who gave us Nigeria and re-wrote our history textbooks as our forefathers wore leaves for cover and sold themselves for mirror whereas the Yorubas already developed the jigi amongst other technologies since ancient times no matter how crude. |

“is it not better to produce nothing than to produce crap?”TRUE TALK |
@Logica Who is this red101? He/She responds like an African recruited by the CIA or any of the spooks. @red101 Who are you? I just don't get it. I doubt if you are an indigenous native of Afrika. I'm perplexed by your boisterous ravings as an excuse for points, spewing loads of baloney all over the thread. Haven't met on Nairaland someone who speak intelligence and tripe at the same time, the replies are usually either informed, trivial, irrational or just plain stupd. How could you have taken my figurative usage of the word jump so literally, blundered that Babalawos are in Congo! and worst, to talk as if you know about Magun. What a goof. Obviously you have no intrinsic knowledge of the Yoruba cultures other than what you've been constantly fed by the unrestrained media-ocre called Nollywood and propagandist books much less of grasping Yoruba esoteric knowledge even if you are explained to. It is anti-root people like you who are programmed with their acquired Phd, Msc, Bsc Etc never to reach inward but to look outward on how the West dictates it should be done or thought out that Mao Tse Tsung extirpated by having them work in farms and poultry while placing those with strong cultural background and native education in charge of things which eventually resulted to their accelerated progression that even President Nixon predicted China to be the next super-power which are apparently transforming towards. How dare you speak of Magun when, like diluted minds, you may not even know how it's pronounced correctly much less of having the faintest idea of what the subject entails as to its true meaning, purpose and varied applications just like every other Yoruba Advanced Sciences erroneously known as juju. When I'm through with the Oro subject I'm about to complete, I shall write an epistle of some sort about this Magun subject so indoctrinates like you can be referred to go read from in the future and by the way since it is pleasing for the likes of you to always ascribe every ridiculous phantasm and superstitious hearsay in Nigeria to indigenous Yoruba belief system, know that the salt water solution wasn't from the traditional as you ignorantly supposed. It was shared on Facebook by someone as a joke to which as you should expect some Nigerians would acted upon and disseminated as a cure, exactly like you took my 'jump' literally when I was just trying to buttress the point that how could this Ebola virus skipped certain country only to land at Liberia if this particular strain did originated from Congo and eventually skipping Togo, Benin and Ghana to Nigeria if not for some shadow group masterminding all this. Patrick Sawyer was reported to have forcefully detached his drips/med-ware upon being told he's got clinical Ebola infection, he went berserk, let out his wee-pee and sprayed the medics attending to him, what does that tell you? What made you think Wikipedia wasn't among the sources I consulted? I just hate it when someone quote Wikipedia, a resource that has been dismissed countless times as not a reliable authority. If an Havard professor defines X on Wikipedia, you can always go there to redefine X! And I hate it when people quote Wikipedia which seems to be your most referential source. I gave a link where Dr. Leonard G. Horowitz exposed the truths about the real origin of Ebola and HIV/AIDS which I'd expect anyone gung-hoed on refuting my analysis to premise his/her defense on but instead you are spewing jargon everywhere stating ludicrous opinion like "period of amadioha's pestilence tongue in Congo" wtf? Listen.......and listen carefully, sit back and relax, stop fuming and ask yourself this Why haven't any equally qualified Black Afrikan medical experts/scientists who even schooled abroad in their Ivy leagues WOULD AND CAN NEVER discover a virus in their lands, but even their most unqualified scholar can always discover viruses in Africa? NB: Don't get me wrong before you start saying I'm anti-West which I am not, I enjoy hard-rock and most things American, it's just our people I can't stand when they tend to suspend their reasoning faculties. |
