ComputersRe: How To Check A Laptop Battery Health And Determine Its Level Of Depreciation by ghostofsparta(m): 1:55am On Jul 23, 2016
tunisbaba:
As a laptop owner, knowing how to care for your battery is one of the ways to avoid dashing out your hard earn money to battery vendors or repair technicians.

But aside having the knowledge of battery care, your ability to monitor the health of your laptop battery would go a long way in helping you to maintain your battery life and boost its efficiency.

There are a lot of third-party applications in the market that claim to help you monitor your laptop battery but the truth is that they can’t do the job like the way the in-built command of your Operating System will do it.

For this reason, I will advise you to use the right resource for the right job, and allow your third-party battery monitoring applications to rest for now.
How Do I Check My Laptop Battery Health?
• On your windows desktop, Right Click on the Start Button and choose Command Prompt from the list of available options. N.B= Do not select the command prompt with Admin
• After launching the command prompt, type the following code into the available writing space: powercfg /batteryreport
• Press Enter to run the code.
The code would create a webpage in your root directory; and to get to the location, do the following
• Open My Computer
• Click on Local Disk (Csmiley
• Click on a folder named Users
• Click on your username
After clicking that, a webpage named battery-report should be staring at you and what you want to do now is to click on it.
Clicking on it would open the file in your browser and a full report on your battery health condition would show up.
Explanation of Battery Health Report
The most important information you needed is under the Installed Battery Section and these are things you will see in the section:

NAME:[b/] This gives the name of the battery

[b]MANUFACTURER:
This tells the name of the battery manufacturer

SERIES NUMBER: This is product or batch number

CHEMISTRY: This means the kind of technology or element used in making the battery. Most Batteries are Lithium Ion (Li-I) Technology.

DESIGN CAPACITY: This is one of the most important information you want to know about your battery. Design Capacity means the total amount of energy the battery can store as design by the manufacturer.

FULL CHARGE CAPACITY: This shows the maximum capacity of energy the battery can hold at the current level of usage when fully charged to 100%.

CYCLE COUNT: This refers to the number of times your battery has completed a cycle in term of being full charged to 100%, then discharge to a critical percentage below 10% and then charge again to 100%.

Knowing the Level of Health of Laptop Battery
By calculating the difference between design capacity and full charge capacity, you would know the level of depreciation your battery has gone through and you can then make some informed decision by follow tips on how to care for your battery.
• If the difference between the two capacities in your battery is very close or the same, then you should be happy. It means your battery health is good.
• If the full charge capacity is 50% below the design capacity, it means the health is fair
• If full charge capacity is far below design capacity, it means you should be worried because your battery health is bad.
The information gotten in this report would help you monitor your battery health and It is recommended to run this report command once in a month so as to better understand your battery performance and optimize it.

You are a mofo whose post doesn't deserve to be on frontpage for not stating the fuck1ng command only works with windows 8 and 10 (never on 7)

My thoughts exactly..... This is just sheer idiocy from government. We are talking about people's livelihoods here!!! Is government planning on providing an alternative location for these farms to be moved to? Everyday we keep talking about agriculture and job creation(or job scarcity) and still we have cases like thus where baby is being thrown away with the bath waterhuh?

What the government should be doing is monitoring these farms more stringently and holding them accountable to higher safety standards especially as they are in residential areas. Should they fail to comply, they should then be fined or sanctioned and in extreme cases of default, sealed off as a biohazard.
Stupid action from an hypocritical government favoured by non-reasoning members of the public and Nairaland. Why can't the same Eko o ni baje government use their authority to ban grazing catties roaming helter skelter throughout the noose and crannies of Lagos been one of the causative factor contributing to vehicular accidents and faece littering. Doesn't the sick cows reared and sold by these untaxed terrorists constitute health hazard too? The reason they banned it is because pork is forbidden in Eslam

This Omojuwa or whatever they call him is more clueless than mr bubu.
Ekiti state gets only average of 2.2 billion from the Federal govt monthly with little to nothing IGR.

Lagos state gets one of the highest allocation after Akwaibom state of about 8 billion every month.
Lagos state has the highest IGR in the country.

How then can you compare the two?
These bikes and cars will end up roaming the streets of V.I, Ikoyi, Ajah, Ikeja, surulere, and possibly Ogba never the local areas.

But the hunters will do the real job so shut up!

Infact, Lagos should borrow a leaf from Anambra state that is now doing Aerial surveillance for the herdsmen despite their little allocation

Why?
As said here

Do you know only here in Nigeria does MTK fitted Android devices appears to be advantageous over non-MTK Android phones ? For instance - in respect to the proper functioning of certain .APKs and connectivity.
And more also because

MTK provides leeway for all sorts of tinkering from rooting, tweaking, app altering, forbidden accessing.

I'll like to correct you so you don't say such a thing outside and get embarrassed especially around geeks which I'm not.

For starters, the phone has a dual sim variant.
Secondly it has a dual 4mp rear camera setup that takes better photos than all the tecno phones you've probably seen.
Lastly, I think the Tecno W4 comes packed with a 2500mah battery.
Talking of dual cameras - I'll rather go for the upcoming Huawei P9 or P9plus fitted with dual cameras from LEICA (one RGB, the other a monochrome) not to talk of other mean features it comes equipped with.
dukeo:
FYI, I'm not a fan of all these expensive phones nor a hater of tecno but I think there are things that when compared seems like cheating one of the brands.
Same here but would become a fan of any expensive toy whose features justifies its quid. By cheating, I know you are must be referring to Samsung in particular. Right ?

dukeo:
Doesn't mean I don't appreciate the new generation tecno phones.
Exactly my point with this review article but nonetheless, until Tecno grazes the list-page of authoritative mobile phone review sites like GSMArena, they shall remain "champion of the toilet" to borrow from Undisputed III movie.

MizMyColi:
There is no way the camera quality of a 13MP camera or 16MP camera of say Tecno (boom j8) or Infinix (hot 3) can be compared to a 4MP camera. Even if it likes, let it be quadruple 4MPs
Sweetheart, it is ill-match to compare and equate the megapixel claimed for C and D-class phones (Tecno, Infinix, Xiaomi, iTel, Gionee etc) with those of A-class phones (Nokia, Samsung, Apple, HTC, LG, Blackberry etc) as most of the C and D class phones capture quality are aided with software interpolation.

please stop deceiving urself, I've used tecno and infinix and the truth remain that chinko is chinko, now I use HTC one M8 , brother if you touch this device you'll never spend your money on low quality Chinese phones again, I'm not referring to the likes of Huawei and xiaomi oo
Your ignorance is so titanic that you fail to realize that China is where every other phones out there are manufactured from Apple iPhones to Blackberry, including your HTC One M8. But they are made to the specification of a given schematic, quality and condition. Your insolence is so uncontrollable that its get the best of you, didn't you read where I said "I used to criticize Tecno phones in the past" ? I don't need you to inform me on what makes Nigeria-nurtured mobile devices as Tecno, Malata, Infinix, Gionee, Itel differes from the likes of HTC, Samsung, Huawei etc which you didn't even state, of which I doubt you do know if asked.

driand:
sorry if I may have sounded derogatory like you said, but I still maintain my stance on the Chinese brands,..
Talking about affordability, you buy an l8 for 30k plus and j8 for 40k plus, still the same range you get a used Galaxy s5 or an M8 in very good condition..
Despite I not been an active Android user for a very long time until now, I know enough about Android OS all the while I used Blackberries and Lumias. It's a shame the majority of you phonbies who're quick to condemn one Android device over another ignorantly do so not on technical ground but on emotional usage of it. Do you know only here in Nigeria does MTK fitted Android devices appears to be advantageous over non-MTK Android phones ? For instance - in respect to the proper functioning of certain .APKs and connectivity. So your Samsung S7-Ultra+VR would fail to respond properly in areas where a N11k Malata will flow with ease.
driand:
My pains with the Chinese devices are numerous, e.g you buy an infinix hot note of 4,000mah and in less than 6 month it it can hardly give you 12hours of power on 3g, a phone of octa-core 1.3gh and 2gig ram cannot play games with quality graphics(fifa16).
Yet another observation based on stark ignorance. Even a 12,000mha phone will depreciate in cell energy in less than 2 months if used carelessly, Nigerians who don't know how to conserve battery will have screens brightness maxed, multitasking 5-10 apps; after forgetting to close camera already invoked at an earlier time idling there in the background, one or two games also in the background, and not to mention one or two of real-time notifying active apps like BBM, WhatsApp, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, SnapChat and at least 1 browser on with several tabs. Some would just have their Bluetooth, WiFi, Hotspot and GPS switched ON all the time. All of these and they'd still expect it the battery to last forever. There's someone who complained to me how her Samsung Galaxy Note 3 kept lasting not more than 30minutes after each full charge, asking me if the 'battery-saving' app she used in her previous but stolen Infinix phone would make her Note 3 last more higher, bottom line is she does worse than the aforementioned abuse to her Note 3 without her even realizing it like the many phonbies throughout Nigeria do without them realizing. Well, I guess the manufactures prefers abuse-causing quick spoils so you all will need to buy high ones one way or the other.
Youngpo413:
Abuse of apps....
Orderliness of organized apps, it becomes abuse when they aren't used. Besides I've begun uninstalling many after testing if device would still run fine when crammed with applications installed only for the purpose of APK tests-running from my library of APKs.

In as much as I criticized Tecno phones for been so off-track like in the past, I never would have believe I'd be enjoying one today. I had to settle for the Tecno L8plus which I got for N33,500 a week and a half ago. So far so good - I'd say despite few noticeable flaws (such as typographical error; improper text spacing in some of it 'pre-captioned prompt') I think it's pretty much an excellent phone that does me everything the ridiculously exorbitant iPhone can and can't do. The capture quality of its cameras may not be in par with the more costly Boom J8 or the costlier Phantoms' but it's snaps are pretty decent even at low-light and moreover it's swift performance did compensated for that as I filled up the available by default 10GB with plethora of applications while I usually run it on 'Battery Saver' mode to further churn out more 'stand-by' time from its massive non removable 5,050mah battery. It's capability to reverse charge is another key feature that comes with the 5.5" phablet but that which I'm certain will use seldomly, because to me, not only does every juice counts, but also would a sustained use of it to charge other device result in an untimely depreciation of its battery cells. Finally, it's sad to know that there exist no 'temper glass' from either Tecno and sellers of phone accessories to protect the protecting flimsy screen guard protecting the touchscreen surface. Regardless of which, at 2GB running Android 5.1 (HiOS) on quad MTK CPU, I'd say it's the perfect phone for those with tight budget.

BTW, I'm curious to know how much you got yours ?

Based on their statement, it certainly means the presidency is privy to more accurate information than everyone to know the attackers were not Fulanis then their intel knows the source originating the attackers and their identities, why can't they tell us ? If the presidency reserve the authority to counter mass opinion of people who have known the Fulanis for more than five decades to be bellicose on their host communities, (and recently at Ibadan, Agatu, Enugu, Nassarawa, Jos etc where surviving witness who took safety in nearby town and villages knew for sure who their attackers are) then the presidency should also exercise that same authority to tell us who the attackers REALLY are because if they can authoritatively state the attackers are not Fulanis then they should be able to tell us the identities of who the attackers are.

Really the way herdsmen rear cattle along the high ways is worrisome. At times their animals will just recklessly cross the road against the oncoming vehicles thereby causing drivers to manipulate suddenly, and in the process may swerve to wrong sides, fall into ditches or run into another vehicle. Their wandering along the roads is dangerous and must be stopped.

Even though the activities of these Fulani leaves much to be desired but this picture appears to be photoshopped so as to gain sympathy. We all know that is what they do but that doesn't mean we should lie on them and say what they didn't do.

How can cows enter a farm, roam round it to eat its crop and there are no hoof signs on the land?
Take a look at the ridges, it seems undisturbed. So how can that number of cows in the first pic trespass on that land and you won't see the signs their legs made?
So naïve of you all who don't know these Fulanis and their obvious evil agenda. So you expected to see the impressed hooves of the cow from a picture taken from that distance the same way you expect to see the insects on the farmland. This pic is either taken genuinely for all to see or taken and shared to propagate a propaganda that will justify valid reason for passing the grazing bill.
