The value of the naira cannot be the reason because Venezuela has one of the weakest currencies in the world. One US dollar is approximately 248520.00 bolivars and a naira is approximately 690.72 bolivars.

woow.. Like what should be the score for a better Chance?
It depends on the major, because some universities that do not offer your intended major can have lower score requirements. What is your major?

My advice to all students yet to go for their interview, always try to use your strong areas at your advantage, try to talk about your strong areas when asked any question so the consular officer would concentrate more on that area. If you have funding, say it when asked why you choose the school. If you took standardized tests and scored well, say it. Quit talking about class rank, research interest etc because the consular officers have heard this reasons a lot. Make your reasons more unique and you will get your visa. Take my advice, it worked for me, it worked for people before me, and it will work for people after me.

Hello House, this is my first time here and I will need to ask a question. I did my interview on 30th July and I was given white paper with small little paper but VO held the SOA of my sponsor and she said I should pick my Visa up after seven working days. Pls am very concerned because when I tracked my application it says Administrative processing. Pls what is my stand now?
The SOA is being verified. Just wait for a while, your visa would be approved if it is not fake.

I intend having my interview at lagos so while filling my DS-160 i picked lagos as location, when i was trying to pick a date for my interview there was no available date in Lagos so i checked abuja and i was able to pick a date and i used the DS-160 with lagos as location on it. Pls hope that wont cause me a problem at the embassy. I cant afford to loose another 57k.
It won't cause any problem. I submitted my DS160 to Lagos and I had my interview in Abuja. I was only told to wait for a while for the DS 160 to be transferred to the Abuja database.

I think you cannot use Lagos ds160 form for Abuja. The embassy intentionally separated both during application process.
Pm me let's work together.
No, the DS 160 form submitted to the US consulate in Lagos can be used for an interview in Abuja. I am very sure of this.

Good Day Guyz,

I have been a silent follower since last month before my first US student visa denial in JUNE 30 2018. I applied for another interview on the 25th July 2018 and the VO handed me two white papers saying my visa has been approved and that the paper contains instruction on how to get back my passport back and things I need to know before travel. But he held back my bank statement.

Today I tracked my visa application status on CAEC website and it says "Administrative Processing" and last update was still 25th July 2018(My Interview Date).

Please anyone with similar case or who knows what this means..?

Thank You..
It will probably change to Issued soon. I don't know why it is taking so long.

I began to wonder why ? ?. the story is different in the western world where businesses exist from generations to generations. this thought feasts on my soul every day
2. this degree obtained in the US will be highly valued in Nigeria , it will add value to my profile and give me a competitive edge.

my sponsor is my elder sister. Mrs ***** ***** . she is married with 3 kids. this explains the difference in our surnames as she bears her husband's name .

she is a civil servant with Nigerian maritime administration and safety agency.

she also owns one for the biggest interior decoration business in the the state .

*******
please guys I need your honest thought on my transcript so far, I will upload the other part later .

This transcript sounds like almost everything was copied from the Internet. You probably got most of this answers from the school's website. Try to make your answers more personal and don't cram so you won't sound like a robot during your interview. Why are you talking about the ranking of the online business school when you are not going for online school? Don't talk about ranking and accreditation because a lot of schools are better ranked and are also accredited. Instead you can talk about the affordability and other qualities that you value in the school. Just remember to make it more personal and you will get your visa.

Try to check the price of Abuja to Houston because it is usually cheaper and you can save yourself about 100k flying from Abuja. Also compare the price for different departure dates.

Meanwhile, everybody keeps telling me the US Embassy doesn't give a weekend date.

Am I the only one on the 4th?
It is not new for appointments to be fixed on Saturdays. It is done for only student visas especially during this time of the year when a lot of people are looking for appointment dates.

Hello, guys. Please what's the Visa duration for Bachelor's degree? Is it 2 or 4 years? When should the Visa expire? In 2 or 4 years? Please I need an urgent reply. UBAH1
The maximum duration of US visa validity a Nigerian citizen can get is two years whether it is for a bachelors degree, masters, PhD, visitation etc. However you can stay in the US legally even after your visa expires as long as you are in status (your SEVIS record is intact and you have not violated the visa) but you must renew it if you come to Nigeria when the visa is not valid. So basically, as far as you have not completed your bachelors degree, you can stay in the US legally. I hope I have answered your question. Have you collected your passport?

I was denied a visa last week Wednesday,i guess it's because of the school I picked.....my question is that should I refire ? or should I apply to 2 good schools ? if yes , please kindly recommend 2 good schools for me for undergraduate studies..... lastly can I get a scholarship without any exams ?
If you feel your life school choice influenced your previous denial, I suggest you start application all over to other schools but no one can suggest schools for you because we all have different interests. What I adore in a school might not be what you think is important.

I meant the consular officers were just denying you because your sister was on OPT even though she is there legally and it is not fair because they thought you too will apply for OPT to after graduation and it is not fair to judge you based on your sister's decision.

Im sorry but my post will be long. I decided to post this after seeing that my AP status changed to issued. First I’ll like to thank God for everything, Sorelee I thank you so so much, words can’t express how grateful I am to you. Ubah1 thank you for encouraging me. Kekenation thank you too. You guys are amazing. I have been to the embassy 7 times , 4 times last year and 3 times this year. I don’t think my last year’s transcripts would be necessary. So here’s my first interview transcript for this year.
So I got home, with the mind of this is the end , called my sister and explained everything to her . She explained the part I mixed and begged me to go one more time, reluctantly I said ok. Luckily for me, we got July 19th on that same day. Truthfully I wasn’t so hyped about the last interview, I was dressed casually. I got interviewed by this middle aged woman on Ankara. A very nice woman I must add infact the nicest VO I ever came across. So here is the third transcript
Me- Goodmorning
VO- Good morning, you passport and I-20 please
I gave it to her
VO - ohhh NCCU
Me - yeah North Carolina Central University
VO- so who’s sponsoring you?
Me- I have full tuition waver and family support
VO- family support?
Me- yea my uncle.
VO- what does he do?
Me- he works with Kwara state Government at the Lower Niger River Basin
VO- Kwara state?
Me- yea Kwara state.
VO- where is that on the map? While looking at her map
Me- can you see Oyo state? It’s right beside Oyo state.
VO- ohhh wow , I can see it now .
VO- I see you have been denied twice , what has changed about your application?
Me- the last time I came here , i noticed the VO kept asking me questions about my sister that I didn’t know about and she ended up denying me. I went home, called my sister and she explained everything to me.
VO- so explain it to me too
Me- I did . Told her everything
VO- you see the main reason why you have been denied all these while is because of your family history, you sister finished school and she didn’t return.
Me- but she’s still in OTP and that’s my sister not me
VO- i know and that’s why it’s called family history . il do you a favour , il overlook it
Me- thank you so much
VO- wait
Me - in my mind, mo daran kilotun sele bayii
VO- il place you on AP , if we find anything fraudulent about your documents, you will be banned from entering the USA for life.
Me - No wahala , they are all real.
VO- Are you sure? make sure you travel before classes starts or else you will be turned back at the port of entry.
Me - ok ma’am. Thank you . Please can I pick up a tissue
VO - sure please do, take as much as u need .
Me- picked up the tissue and left
I might have forgotten some questions asked sha but this is all I can remember. I have found this thread really helpful. The main thing is be well prepared, be organized and learn from people. Thank you so much once again
Sorelee
Ubah1
Kekenation .
Ekebs I really hope they issue yours too soon.
Congratulations, It is not really fair to punish you for what your sister did. Thank God you met a considerate consular officer.

Seems no one here has idea about procedure for student that are applying for associate degree and what their chances are. And what are likely question to expect.

It is normally said on this thread that it is harder to get a visa when going for an associate degree but I believe you will get your visa as far as you present yourself well to the consular officer.
