Jobs/VacanciesNpower Failed To Pay About 60% Batch C2 Beneficiaries. by Gidagreen(op): 12:43pm On Mar 30, 2023
The 60% beneficiaries left unpaid among the Batch C2 beneficiaries are prepared to call out the NPower management over the recent Npower revalidation required by NPower for backlogs payment. The beneficiaries describe the untold hardship meted on them as a scam and an attempt to frustrate beneficiaries. Majority of the unpaid beneficiaries referred to the revalidation as a delay tactics and an attempt to deny bonafide beneficiaries of their entitlement. There is also a rumour going round that the Npower fund has been embezzled which resulted to just few beneficiaries being paid.

The website/portal created for the revalidation is not going through for beneficiaries to complete the process, beneficiaries have tried the portal for the revalidation at different period of the day and night using the fastest internet and smartest computers/phones without success. This is obviously a problem from the backend of Npower management. The portal have been seen popping up several ambiguous notifications for beneficiaries on the different level of revalidation process. There is no clear message to show if your revalidation is successful or not, no clear message to state the exact problem a beneficiary have for their non payment. Despite the reconfiguration of the website to include NIN, it remains stagnant without progress.

Concerned Nigerian youths are wondering if it is that difficult to create a smooth running portal in this era when the country is endowed with top software developers/engineers, if not as a result of incompetent hand in charge of the NPower management. Nigerian youths have seen ordinary loan app popping up people's details that include BVN, NIN and Bank account immediately someone type in just their phone number on a loan app. Why can't Npower get it right using information technology and expertise accordingly?

At this juncture, NPower management can be said to have exhibit negligent for not being able to keep safe candidates/beneficiaries data which resulted to the recent revalidation brouhaha because everyone believe they input their correct details during the period of registration.

Despite the above difficulties faced by beneficiaries, Npower is threatening beneficiaries of closing down the revalidation portal on the 31st of March.
In reaction to that, the remaining 60% beneficiaries that are yet to receive their October, November and December stipends have vowed to call out the NPower management on all social media platform till the presidency and Human rights activists intervene, if solution is not provided to their problem immediately.

You don't toast babe with text message and don't break up with text message.

Another thing you should not have discussed the issue with her any longer if you have tried all your possible effort to make the relationship work. Just move on without telling her anything. Get your self relief with another babe instantly.

Go ahead and approach new babes. Continue trying different girls till you find the one that accept you. Just let your former girl be on her own, if she calls back and change, it's fine and if she doesn't, let her be. No need to talk about it for now until you meet again.

If you really feel you must talk about any issues you guys are having, travel down where ever she is, work place, church or her home, take the risk even if it's long distance or at night. Talk to her, ask her questions and behave normally to know your stand in her life.

EducationNigerian University Should Generate Income Independently by Gidagreen(op): 5:22am On Aug 07, 2022

The Problem with Nigerian University System

I have been doing a lot of research on why we continually have problem with university education in Nigeria. Chief of our problem is funding. Just like every other system in Nigeria, over dependence on government for everything is killing our university education. I am yet to see any country in the world with a working university system that runs universities the way we run ours in Nigeria.

Universities in the United Kingdom and their yearly revenue:

Oxford - £2.5 b
Cambridge - £2.2 b
UCL - £1.5 b
Edinburgh - £1.1 b
Manchester - £1.0 b
Imperial - £1.0 b
King's CL - £901m
Leeds - £791m
Birmingham - £716m
Sheffield - £715m
Bristol - £706m
Nottingham - £701m
Warwick - £688m
Glasgow - £687m
South'ton - £584m
Liverpool - £577m
Newcastle - £570m
Cardiff - £538m
Queen Mary - £483m
Exeter - £449m

Above is the total revenue/income of the top Universities in Britain pee year.

Guess what, every dime you see above here is generated by these Universities on their own through income from student fees, government grants and research grants, as well as generating their own income through charitable fundraising, investments and business activities such as 'spin-out companies.

Meanwhile, only about a quarter of thier income comes from UK student fees. The rest comes from higher fees paid by international students, charitable donations, and investment that Universities make.

I am going somewhere. Let's break it down. What's government grant? Government grants makes up about 30.6% of total revenue for most UK universities. Students fees is about 29.4%. Self-generated income is 20.4% and research grants about 19.6%. It varies with very little margin from University to university but generally speaking, this is the outlook of how universities generates income in the UK.

Therefore total revenue from non-governmental grants is 69.4% while grants from government is merely 30.6%. Therefore in a country that wants to maximise its university educational system, government's contribution cannot be more than 35% at most. We are in trouble with our university education system in Nigeria because we make universities totally dependent on government for its revenue and running cost. That's an aberration!

We need a total disruption of our university education system. What we have always lacked is a leader with the political will to take tough decisions devoid of political correctness. We need to totally reform our university system and the recruitment process of Vice Chancellors.

We have VCs of public Universities behaving like State governors. Lame duck leaders, sitting down and expecting monthly draw down from the Federal government to pay salaries and enjoy the largesse of office and then wait for next month's draw down. Our system of administration does not excite nor tax the ingenuity in any man. It makes people lazy.

University system has become an extension of our politics and ASUU is the political arm. It would take a total reform to unleash the dragon and let Professors proof their mettle as egg heads by leading from the front on how they can generate revenue for the running of our universities.

Recruitment of VCs must take the pattern of recruitment for a multinational where revenue targets are set and potential candidate must be able to proof how they would meet the revenue targets for thier university or go bankrupt.

It's the failure to reform our university system that gave rise to private universities. That's why private/individually owned university is not popular in countries with a very solid public University system. The rich folks gave major grants to universities instead of thinking of starting their own. Its part of their charitable endeavour.

Imagine Chief Afe Babalola sinking every money he has spent on his private University, ABUAD on Ekiti State University in form of grant and endowment, In addition to Ekiti State government subvention to that university. How do you think Ekiti State University would look like today? Imagine Bishop Oyedepo sinking all the money he has invested in Covenant University in University of Ilorin. I can go on and on.

In addition, I am yet to see a country with a robust university system allowing students to attend universities almost for free like Nigeria. University education is not a universal basic education. Not everybody needs a university education to make it in life. That's why you see a lot of Nigerian university graduate drop their certificate and then follow their passion in another area totally outside of what they studied. If you must have a university education, then you must be ready to pay for it.

Please, let's not decieve ourselves that Nigerians can't pay for university education. Nigerian students attending universities in the UK rose from 13,000 in 2018/19 to 21,305 during the 2020/21 academic session. Nigerians paid N152 billion in tuition into UK universities, and Nigeria is the largest overseas market for UK universities amongst other African nations.

We need to be deliberate about how we revamp our university system. We can't continue doing the same thing everytime under different government, yet expected a different result. It is only in Nigeria that we see that obviously a system is not working, yet different government under different political parties keep reinforcing that flawed solution template to solve the same old problem. You don't need a soothsayer to tell you that failure is a sure bet you will get.

Negotiation with ASUU is not what we need. They've been negotiating for over 30 years and nothing had come out of all the negotiations. Reason is that the federal government can never meet up with the kind of money to really cater for all the Universities.

Universities are not run that way. Government must hands of 60% of their involvement with university education, or give a moratorium of a 10 year withdrawal plan from University funding. Reduce funding every 2 years, recruit VCs that are forward looking and ready to work to get grants and endowment for his/her university. Let our public university be a tuition paying universities, *strengthen professional certification for people with skill, and make it recognisable like ICAN does with accounting*. This way people can be proud of their professionalism without a university degree, and be sure they can get a well paying job.

That way only people who really needed to attend a university would do so. Presently, my boss at work here in the UK has no university degree but he's an experienced hand with a deep knowledge of his industry. He consults for government on reforms in the sector and an authority in his field. Under him, we have people with multiple degrees but we all defer to him because he knows his onions.

Presently, a lot of Nigerians with masters degree are abandoning their degree certificates and getting certification in Project Management, Agile, Business Analysis and getting into tech jobs that pays well. Nobody cares about what they studied at the University. What employers are looking and asking for is your certification in technology related field and your experience in that field to get employment.

I sincerely believe we can revamp this system because we have more to gain if we do or more to lose if we don't.

Jobs/VacanciesHabitual Lateness And Absenteeism Compared by Gidagreen(op): 8:42am On Jun 10, 2022
It's a government work where there is always no tideous activities. No matter how prepared and dedicated that you try to be everyday, you won't find your self too busy. The work load is very light. So it create room for absenteeism and lateness without any damaging effect to production activities at the end of the day. And of course this organization is very important to the public as well as this branch but it is located in a remote area where there is no much patronage.

Now, the issue is, there are some set of workers who comes to work thrice a week including the senior officers who are expected to coordinate, direct and motivate others but they are also guilty of absenteeism.

The argument is about two particular workers among them who will definitely come to work everyday but are usually arrived late to work. Which is preferable? and which can be considered to be productive among the two abnormal attitude to work?

This Op is the cause of the trouble lingering in his family.
When you are always playing with a lady who is not your girlfriend/wife, it will always bring problem in the long run. Some people like teasing women they are not in a relationship with, like following her around, talking to her in a secluded place, getting closer unnecessarily, trying to offer her some ridiculous help indiscriminately, all these will later bring a big problem to you or the lady if you are not in a relationship and you are doing all that. Your wife is a type that jealous and it's normal for every woman that loves a man, so it's you who need to caution the way you relate with other women as a married man.

Primary election is just the root of all the political corrupt and bad governance in Nigeria, how can individual (s) we barely know in our society (delegate(s)) Select for the vast majority who to vote. At what end will minority opinion who sometimes sell their concience for penny benefit the vast majority?

Forget about being Hausa, Igbo, Yeruba. In Nigeria we have only two tribes - wealthy tribe (corrupt politicians) and the Poor people.

It is only the will of the creator of human kind can redeem us. May He be merciful to Us all.
This is one of the reasons why you youths are advised to get involved in politics from the grassroots and not just clamour online. Attend political meetings of your choice party in your ward. Ask from those who know and be loyal but in a smarter way. Then you can be one of those delegates to choose the right candidate.

I don't like men acting like a super hero. Why are you giving yourself so much burden financially, you have your wife cousin living with you and your own niece on top 100k, why?.

I'm very sure this is one the obstacle that is making you to consider stoping child bearing at two children.

No matter how tough the economy is, three or four children is not too much for someone earning close to 100k.

You have already carried a lot of burden on your shoulder. I always advise young couples to avoid taking in external person even if you are financially bouyant, it's not good.

Let those extended family go and allow your wife to stop child birth at three or four if that's her wish.

Blunder? It is an irrelevance.

If there is nothing to talk about but this then there is a tragedy.
Yes those trying to defend him are his partisan supporters or paid agents
I am a very staunch opponent of Tinubu and his family with very good reasons.

This is petty and childish. So what if he mixed up Twitter and Whatsapp ? How is that relevant to banditry?

Rather than talking about Tinubu's stupendous wealth and its source, The nepotism in placing his unproductive wife as two term senator , The embarrassing performance of his cronies like Lai Mohammed we are talking of this nonsense?

Next we would be complaining that he mixed up Man City and Man United? Is that relevant?.

Calling it a "blunder" shows extreme bias and incapacity for objective and constructive criticism.
Only small and petty people think this is what is important to Nigerians now
Well said but, note that there are different angles to criticism when it comes to a personality like Tinubu. You have already mentioned parts of the criticism above and other aspects of criticism can be mentioned by others.

He can be critisized base on nepotism, corruption, age falsification, incapacitated due to old age etc.

The incapacitated due to old age is what the Op is trying to point out, probably memory loss and/or some diseases related to old age. All these can also affect the performance of a leader. Thus, it is relevant and significant to some extent.
