Good evening guys,

Please I need your advise on how to proceed.

Here's my situation.

Currently a 400 level student in National open university. Will be through with this by next year March.

Have 5 years freelance experience before I started working for cooperate media house for 3 years now. Can I claim this 5 years in addition to the 3 years?

My job description is Video Producer and its listed on subclass 190. I'm 28 years old.

No IELTS yet.

Pls advise how do I proceed?

There is no format or form. There is section in the online application form for additional information. Here you can explain it. If the space in the form is not enough, then include a cover note to notify the ECO that lump sum of xxxxx is due to maturity of your investment and is mere concidental and not a fund lodgement for visa application. It will also be wise to get a letter from your cooperative confirming the payment etc.
ok thanks

If you are unwilling or unable to full explain with documents the origin of the proposed lump sum and why it was paid into your account. The safest thing to do is either cash out the money or instruct your cooperative to pay it into another bank account. At your age and since you’re working, you cannot use a sponsor, unless your travel is business related and not for touring.
All the monies paid to the cooperative was transferred from my account, will highlighting these transfers on my bank statement be enough prove? if yes how can go about explaining this? is there a format or form?

alert20:
I think that will depend on your age bracket..
if you are above 25yrs I wouldn't advice you to use a sponsor...

yes your statement of account is also a good tie to your home country.
I'm 27, so what's the possible way out? since the lump sums in my account will raise red flag. If not for the lumps sums my account would have been ok to use, by the time of visa application I will have up to 1.8 in my account.

Hello gurus in the house,

My situation goes like this, my account balance presently do not have enough money on it, though there's enough cash inflow which includes my salary and monies paid into my account for some of my side hustles. Prior to my visa application lumps sums of money will be paid into my account, this is not deliberate. It just happens that my cooperatives will be paying me my savings at this time.

I was told there's a column in the form I can use to explain the lumps sums in my account, but I do not want to risk it. It might not be too convincing to the ECO.

My question is can I use someone as a sponsor? the person has enough cash inflow and balance.

Will my account statement be needed for the application since I'm using a sponsor?

Note: I have never traveled outside the country before

Good day gurus in the house,
I intend going to SA for a one month shot course. Pls I do not know the visa application process for SA.

Secondly I do not have enough money in my account at the moment. I have money that will be paid in lump sums in my account shortly. My question will it be advisable for this monies to appear in my account prior to the visa application? The money in question is mine, it's my saving in a cooperative

Explain the general concept of co-op. Then highlight all the deductions from your account. Do a summary of how it all added up to it. It's what I will do in your shoes.
How and where in the form can I do this?

hello gurus in the house, we have a little cooperative in our office where staffs save money, my saving for the past 8 months have just been paid into my account, the money doesn't come from my company account, it's from one of our staffs.

How can I legitimately declare this money as mine without the embassy thinking I borrowed it just to prove I have funds?

Baba Ramo,

The truth is that an individual has the right to visit countries of interest, equally, nations have the right to set guidelines for those they will admit into their countries. So, it is at the discretion of the intending visitor to determine whether or not, he or she wants to subject himself/herself to such strict requirements. It is an open secrets that USA has one of such stringent requirements. They have hide the fact that every intending visitor is a potential immigrant to their country, so the applicant has to convince the VOs that he's not by showing that he has strong ties to his country of residence.

Someone travelled to Europe and returned to Nigeria would have demonstrated some ties to Nigeria, so the more frequent such trips are made, then the more travel history becomes stronger ties for such a person.
So what if someone travel to dubai and returned? is that not a strong tie?
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 3 by giftwalter: 5:01pm On Apr 07, 2018
cosade:
Yes, it is a tie. Unfortunately, it does not look strong. Undergraduate studies can easily be abandon for "better prospects" in USA.
Only two years with this media outfit.

All you have listed are not learnt at conferences.

Save your 57k and consider travelling elsewhere to build some travel history, my candid opinion.
Thanks for your reply, can you kindly give a few examples of strong ties.
As for the conference I didn't say I was to learn all those things, it's for people who are working in those fields.
As for the travel history you mentioned, in my understanding people still get denied visa regardless of how well they have traveled.

How come you have unstamped or clean passport when you said you have travelled out of the country before?

Chances are not discussed on this forum, rather you should evaluate your ties to Nigeria. For example:
-how long have been working with this media outfit? The longer the period, the stronger tie it becomes.[/b]
- do you play significant roles in your office such as anchoring or writing period features etc?
- is your media well established?
In order words, the easier it is to abandon your job, the weaker this tie becomes. It is generally assumed that a rational person will not abandon a "good job" though not true in all cases.

Besides your job, you may have other ties which you need to identify and self evaluate.
I meant to say I have never traveled out of the country.

I have a significant role in my company, I'm a cameraman/video editor been working there for almost two years

My media is well establish and know across Nigeria (Online Media)

I'm currently running a Bsc program at the National open university, does this count as ties?

The conference I want to attend is for broadcast TV, radio, production, post production, news gathering, streaming, cable TV, satellite TV etc. It has everything to do with my current job.

Good morning guys,

I'm playing on traveling to the US later this year, I have been outside the country. I want to attend a media conference, I work in a media house and earn to 150k monthly, I have an account balance of 1.8 mil. I haven't booked for the conference yet.

Please I want to know the chances of getting a visa with a virgin passport. Someone told me to travel to dubia first before applying for US.

Does the shipping method determine the cost of clearing?

You need to build your salary account for at least 6months before using it for visa application.

If you can show evidence of that cooperate contribution then good it could be used as part of your account history.

All you have to do is to explain it in your visa application form..that you do cooperate contrition from your salary.
God bless you, actually I have been keeping the transfer slips and bank deposits slips just in case ofor anything. On what column on the visa application can I explain the funds from the cooperative
