CelebritiesRe: Van Vicker Wins Man Of The Year Award by ginky: 8:44pm On Dec 20, 2009
There is a definition that says to act means to pretend. When one is acting, the basic thing is to feel the role of the character he/she is supposed to potray. The first time I watched a film Van acted(Beyonce),I was infuriated. This was the guy everyone was talking about like he was topshot. I never knew that nollywood producers would feature such a person in a film. This shows that they don't have sense. When I watched "dangerous mother" acted by Majid Michael,I was stunned. I knew he could act based on the soap opera (things we do for love) he acted previously but I wasn't expecting to see such a brilliant performance. Let's face it,Van is bullshit, when it comes to acting.
CelebritiesRe: Van Vicker Wins Man Of The Year Award by ginky: 2:49pm On Dec 20, 2009
I totally agree with Amaka. Van Vicker can't act and that's the hönest truth. He can't potray emotions, infact he's BLANK. Mike and Nonso were better choices. Why I didn't mention Ramsey is because it looks like he's no longer "that" active. The majority of people that voted for him must have been ladies that were just blinded by his looks.

How do you mean? I have the same model (5130) and mine has no problem.

@Paroh frey
I said a very poor person.

A PERSON WHO DOESN'T HAVE A GOOD MEANS OF LIVELIHOOD CAN'T BE FAT. IT'S DIFFERENT IF THE PERSON IS PLUMP( which is not supposed to be if you understand the extent of hardship the person is facing).
TV/MoviesRe: 30 Things Nollywood, Has Taught Us by ginky: 10:30pm On Nov 22, 2009
@ POSTER

CHECK OUT THESE ONES:

Every love film must be titled  LOVE, SPIRIT OF LOVE, REAL LOVE, SUPER LOVE,SWEET LOVE, TRUE LOVE,ETC

A fat person can act the role of a very poor person and there is no problem.

Chioma Chukwuka must always act the role of a christian while Oge Okoye and Ini Edo get their well acclaimed roles(SLUTS).
A film must have part 2 and 3 before it is considered complete: most of the times, the 2nd part doesn't even have a connection with the 1st part or would I say the GENUINE PART.

When a person looks at the camera countless times, it is not a problem at all, the camera keeps on rolling.

When there is noise in the background like in the movie TRUE IDENTITY, there is no wahala.

You can get a phone call from your friend who informs you that someone is in the hospital. You'd then say " hey, how? ok, am coming right away". The next thing is that you've arrived. You don't need to ask which hospital it is or where it's located. Somehow, somehow, YOU JUST KNOW THE EXACT ONE.
Music/RadioRe: Mercy Johnson Is Working On Her Album by ginky: 11:35pm On Nov 13, 2009
Na wa oh. Every body wants to sing.
First of all, it was Genny with that   lipsrsealed "no more"
Omotola, well omotola felt like she was actually good. It even got to the point that she compared her 1st album to that of  Janet Jackson in an interview.
I don't know what Jim Iyke is feeling like with that rubbish "who am I". I just can't stop laughing. He was raping the way people way back in the us(say 1990) used to rap. I had to go close to the tv to listen to what he was saying. All I could hear was " WHO AM I?". Though I don't like Tuface but I must confess that he really fell his hands.
Now Mercy Johnson. Someone said that we haven't heard her voice yet. Well, I have. It was in one of the movies she acted. It's not that good. Maybe she would get someone to sing for her. It won't cost more than 70 grand.

I don't understand why they all want to sing. Isn't the movie industry paying them well?

The only naija celebrity I believe that can sing is Kate Henshaw.

LET'S WAIT AND SEE SHA. I like that song by lil jojo "gini".  Its sweet.

Frank, your story is tight. I love the thrill.
LiteratureRe: The Cyber Lover by ginky: 11:12pm On Oct 17, 2009
Frank, you are such a good writer. You were right when you said that this section is not very popular. I had been a part
of Nairaland for sometime but never felt I should come to the literature/writing section.
It's people like you that get people loke me interested in this section. Infact, I have taken note of 4 writers on this section: You, Atreus, Maedan and Aslan. You guys are really trying.

As for criticism, I agree with what Igbo boy said that you should add suspense.
You are really good. I don't want Brenda to be with the weird guy{Cain). I know he's sincere but I really want her to be with Mike. Anyway, continue with your story. NOT TOO MUCH SUSPENSE BEFORE I START HAVING NIGHTMARES. I have already started dreaming.

[s]I don't mind you sending me the rest of the story to my email if you're feeling discouraged though I don't pray for it.[/s]

LiteratureRe: Let's Write! Add Your Bit To This Story! by ginky: 9:40pm On Sep 06, 2009
@Banderas,the guy that sent the note to Jane is not Itse but Brian.

@ POST
Brian was surprised. Though he wasn't expecting Jane to be friendly but her rudeness was uncalled for.
He was used to getting what he wanted but this Jane girl wasn't just interested in whatever he had to say.

***************************************
The traffic was terrible and just as Jane breathed a sigh of relief, Lola asked "what was that all about"?."What are you talking about" Jane asked like she didn't understand. "Your insolence towards that nice looking man at the restaurant".
"Oh that" Jane continued.
"oh come out with it" Lola asked in a curious tone.
"ok". He's Brian. The one that offered to share his Umbrella with me"
"and"  "come on,I still don't understand why you acted the way you did. It was as if he had commited an immortal sin"
"how did I act?" Jane asked in an infuriated tone.
Lola noticed that Jane was beginning to get annoyed so,she put on the radio and tuned it to Crash 99.2. It had always been their best station and just as they were beginning to enjoy the music "wait for you"  by Elliot Yamin, the traffic began to move and soon after, they were in their respective homes.

So tell me, how long does it take you to write this kind of stories?

I had my first crush when I was in Jss1. It wasn't because of his face or his stature.  What happened was,one day our form mistress was rearranging us. She asked those people that had eye problem to stay one side. We(my crush and I) were among the people that could see clearly so,we were put at the last seat and on the last row.
We became friends and talked about things(small children's stuff though). He was the talker and I was the listener. We started liking ourselves but we didn't notice it at first. After sometime, we were scared of eachother. I don't know why. Maybe it was because of our reasoning back then.

So guys, come out with it. Describe the feeling you had when you noticed you had started having a special attraction for the opposite sex.
TV/MoviesRe: Project Fame West Africa Season 2 by ginky: 5:04pm On Sep 05, 2009
This season is very interesting. All the contestants are talented. Its not like the 1st season where Nii was still there even when we all knew he did not have a good voice.

My top 4 are as follows:
TOMIWA
NICHOLAS
SAMETTA
KRIMI

Believe me,I would have included Mike in the list above(infact he is my 2nd best,my 1st is NICHOLAS) but he is full of himself. Although I like his swagger, this swagger is bringing him down. If he realises this early enough, he would displace Sametta from my list,

Anyway, I wish the remaining 7 contestants success in whatever they plan on doing after the reality show. They are really trying. It's not easy.
RomanceRe: Can You Date A 16 Year Old Girl? by ginky: 11:45pm On Aug 28, 2009
@ Amaka
Sorry to say this, but, you are not God fearing. A God fearing person who after talking in an insultive tone wouldn't just say in a common tone "I will repent". That's not the way.

You said you were close to commiting fornication. I thought you would have said that the reason you didn't do it was because you are "God fearing" but you said, "I JUST DIDN'T FEEL LIKE IT AND I WAS NOT READY" What kind of God fearing person is that.

Please, am not judging you but I think you should understand what the word "God fearing" means before using it.

@ Poster
I would advise you to wait for the girl to mature. Anything you do now would be seen as taking advantage. Everybody would see the girl as immature and blame you for anything that might go wrong. JUST WAIT.

I dont think a lady can win the ultimate search. It might not be good for biz for Guiness.
Gulder is not a female drink, they cant use an Ultimate woman for their adverts and If they ever try it,some ppl might begin to see Gulder as a womans drink.
Am not too happy Uche won it,methinks he does not deserve it,anyway, its his luck but he does not deserve it.
You just read my mind.Melvin was much better than Uche.Anyway, someone had to win and it just so happened to be Uche so, more grease to his elbow.
TV/MoviesRe: Official Thread of Gulder Ultimate Search 6 by ginky: 7:15pm On Aug 08, 2009
@Hanoobaba

Please,am not saying that they are all acting,I said "I am having second thoughts'.
Because you did not notice what I pointed out, does not mean am having a hyperactive imagination.

Did you actually read my previous post very well?I said yesterday.Wasn't it Melvin that said the answer to the riddle is "fire" which it was.In all the riddles given to the contestants as tasks,Melvin got the answer before Uche so don't go there.

See Hanoobaba,I have always liked GUS right from the very beginning (I have also watched all the seasons though not as well as GUS 4,5 and 6)and I would not write something bad about it if I did not watch carefully.
I stand to be corrected but am happy for Uche sha.
TV/MoviesRe: Official Thread of Gulder Ultimate Search 6 by ginky: 7:57am On Aug 08, 2009
I don't really understand what is going on.I've started to be suspicious. Why was Vivien crying even before the task? How come Chisom referred to the show as a "film" in yesterday's episode.
Uche was actually waiting to hear Melvin's opinion.Infact, yesterday, when they were given the riddle,it was Melvin that got it.
Did you remember when it was chisoms bday and she was giving people water and the people who refused to take it,she said would be evicted before her and it actually happened.

I have always been arguing with people that GUS is not an act but I have started to have second thoughts.

Ada and Chisom are the bush people in this picture.

TV/MoviesRe: Official Thread of Gulder Ultimate Search 6 by ginky: 12:19am On Aug 07, 2009
I was not able to watch the first 40 minutes of the action.I would have loved to see how Chisom messed up.The girl irritates me with her BAD ENGLISH.I started watching when Bob compared her to the other girls who have made it as the last girl standing in the other seasons.

The reality show would end today.I really hope Melvin would win.
But come to think of it,why is it that they are always showing Uche? Most times,it is his face I see.

@Warfy Boy
I thought I was the only one that noticed it.Chisom has this "igbotic and bush" intonation. She speaks like a pure village girl.Infact, she is just a bush woman.I don't think she is stronger than Vivien. The reason she did better than Vivien is that Vivien was not in the right state of mind even before they all went for their tasks. She was even crying in the morning. That must have made her confused.
TV/MoviesRe: Official Thread of Gulder Ultimate Search 6 by ginky: 7:58pm On Aug 06, 2009
@Koolsasy
Your welcome. The answer is yes.She would get an additional 1million.

I felt really bad yesterday when Vivien was evicted.I have always liked her since the beginning but I noticed that she was already getting emotonal even before they all went for their tasks. Its not that she could not carry out the task as well as the other contestants because, the problem was that she was already feeling that she would be evicted. If you all watched yesterdays episode carefully, you would notice that she was crying in the morning and when Uche invited her to sing with them, she did not.

Chisom just doesn't know when to stop talking.I wonder why the contestants were not given tasks that require using their brain.Instead, they were given the tasks as group task.

I pitied Vivien when she was crying especially when Melvin was comforting her.The girl tried.
