Wikipedia couched it to be an annual observance on October 13, on which women are encouraged to forgo wearing a bra as a means to encourage breast cancer awareness. No Bra Day was initially observed on July 9, 2011, but within three years it had moved to October 13, the month of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. At a time like this, users on social media are encouraged to post using the hashtag #NoBraDay to promote awareness of breast cancer symptoms and to encourage gender equality.

In recent years, it is without doubts that so many people has taken the celebration for granted and have sabotaged the movement to showcase thirst trap and unclad pictures revealing their breasts. In a time as this where the inappropriate use of ideas, contents, opinions and information is very common amongst youth, I wonder how effective the celebration can be positively. This is how complicated the internet can be most of the time.

However, in the nub of all this, there’s always a lot achieved from its campaign yearly.

While the #NoBraDay was still being celebrated, some persons were already anticipating and foreseeing the celebration of #NoPantDay.
Just after the No Bra Day was celebrated, social media users took it upon themselves to also celebrate the #NoPantDay a day after, even though no concrete reason or purpose behind its celebration has been established.

However, while I was surfing the internet, I came across a tweet on the hashtag #NoPantDay where the user shared its significance to the white and black people across the world. Although his viewpoint seemed inordinate, he is among the few who took out time to share their own perception about its celebration across the world.

What a time to be alive! It is no news that there has been what I’ll prefer to call a cat and rat fight on social media between these two talented Nigerian rappers, MI Abaga and Vector Tha Viper. So many persons have contributed to the gossip in town and some have attributed all the good to their favorite act.

Nevertheless, trending currently is that the globally recognized Vector Tha Viper is the cause of the beef and misunderstanding between himself and Africa’s number one Rapper as proclaimed by him in his song back in the days. Going by the conversation between the two, you would observe that MI Abaga’s intent was to congratulate his colleague Vector Tha Viper in good faith. Instead of getting a fair response back, Vector Tha Viper shunned him stating that MI and him were never friends and that he (MI) was ‘talking too much’.

Just recently, MI Abaga released a diss track titled “The Viper” in response to Vector’s diss track. People were marveled by the way MI demonstrated superiority by passing his message on a stage like the Big Brother Naija grand finale show and how mature his lyrics were yet ‘deadly. MI attributed the song as not just a beef song, but also words of wisdom for Vector Tha Viper claiming he was sent to him by God to be forgiven and ‘re-born’. He left him with Psalms 1 bible verse to go study.

However, MI shared a particular eye-opening truth in his diss track indicating that Vector Tha Viper had always hated him. How true is this statement to you?

As expected and long waited for, Vector Tha Viper responded to him earlier today with a diss track titled “Judas The Rat” with the hashtag #PastorSon. Vector also reciprocated what MI did and made a reference to a bible verse; “He that breaketh an edge, a serpent shall bite him” – Ecclesiastes 10:8 (KJV).

Attention has been shifted away to the particular lyric that had Nigeria’s rapper, Jesse Jagz’ name being mentioned in the song. Jesse Jagz happens to be a brother to MI Abaga.

A twitter user also tweeted about rap music having some mathematics in it and that one of Vector’s line equals to MI Abaga being dead!

Regardless of the fact that we got two sides of the story, I wonder what side to be on, because at a time in my life I was a big fan of MI Abaga but along the line, Vector Tha Viper became my favorite rapper because his lyrics are undeniably ‘mind blowing and intelligent’. Please permit me to be a bit bias, Vector is the “King of Wordplay” in my own opinion.

Chocolate’s City former rapper, Milli has responded to the part where Vector talked about him in his recent diss track.

In response to previous reports that he was dumped by Chocolate City in 2016, Milli said he was never dropped from Choccitymusic and as a matter of fact, he had to pay three times the amount of what they claimed he owed them.

‘I paid them in three (3) commas so they could release me’ , said Milli.

He further revealed he bought his own contract and he hopes we are told that someday.

The rumors about Buhari marrying a new wife put a lot of concerned Nigerians in shock. Their opinions were clouded with the current deteriorating state of the country but I was less concerned. As a matter of truth, I was more concerned about who the soon-to-be wife of our President was and how I could get into that wedding to have a taste of luxury. I would not say I am comfortable with the way things but notwithstanding so many of us have learnt how to survive amidst all the tribulations. Moreover, I am a writer so you should understand that I live for these type of stories.

Anyways, I took it upon myself to do a background check about who the soon-to-be wife of our dear President is. At least, I needed to have some information about the couples so I do not mess up when randomly called upon to talk about them (you and I know this might not happen in such a gathering). Few minutes into my research, I kept stumbling upon several tweets speculating that Mrs. Sadia Umar Farouq, the current Minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management is the bride.

IS THIS OUR WIFE?

The speculations, however, led me to the conclusion that Sadia is Mr President’s incoming bride. I needed not to do any further research about Mr President as I had seen enough of him in the last 5 years. In view of all this, I woke up as early as possible to prepare myself for the grand in-house wedding and also invited a few friends as I had several invites to go round.

DON’T ASK ME HOW I GOT THE INVITE.

My gang and I were all set, stacked up in our fully fitted double-breasted Tuxedos and well-polished shiny black shoes to complement. We had the intention to treck as a sign of honour to Mr President but we realized we might not get there in time for the wedding.

ALL IN DRESSED IN DOLCE AND GABBANA

Upon our arrival, we observed that all eyes were on us and weird glances were channelled at our outfits. At that moment, we realized our outfit had taken the spotlight. But I need to ask, it is not weird that we were the only ones putting on English outfit while others paraded in matching native attires? Moving on, we walked down the aisle majestically like we owned the event thinking if other politicians could enter without an invite, so could we. Upon getting to the main entrance leading into the auditorium, we were stopped by the security officials. We protested that we had our invites with us but it fell onto deaf ears. As they continued to pass other people in without invites, one of them informed us that ‘Invites were not shared for the wedding, outfit was strictly given out to only invited guests’ and so he asked us to stop lurking around before they lock us up.

‘GO TO YOUR HOUSES, YOU WERE NOT INVITED’.

This information made our pride and ego fall like naira to dollar and for a moment while reminiscing on why people were staring at our outfits in a weird manner, it clicked immediately that we were actually ‘weirdly dressed’. But we weren’t going to give up considering how far we came. And so we sought out a plan to get in no more what it would cost. The only feasible way to get in was to jump through the fence.

MISSION MUSTPOSSBILE.

Finally, we found our way in although one of our crew members was caught by one of the security officials. But we took it as he was used as a sacrificial lamb and so we promised ourselves to make the most of the party to honour the lost hero. We got seated and observed the couples were already present. The host announced the groom, Mr President to stand up along with his bestman, ex-President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

‘I arrived a little late because my shoe went missing so I had to walk down here barefooted’, ex-President narrated as he gave his best man speech.

Meanwhile, the bride was spotted somewhere at the vending point doing what she knows how to do best, conducting humanitarian affairs and managing disaster. The host invited her over and asked to hand over the coordination of the food affairs to someone else.

After a few minutes, the wedding programme ended and it was time to eat and merry. As you’d have expected, a serve-yourself buffet was presented before and at this point, I knew we might get ourselves into trouble. At first we acted normal and ate moderately like every other person did but later we realized the little we had was not enough fill the tanks we came along with. After so many deliberations to maintain our insanity so as not to get caught, I went down to take a larger portion as I could not resist the sight of the amala. Even the food vendors put in place to monitor the food were shocked when they saw the portion I carried.

LOCAL MAN WAS SHOCKED!

The rest of my team built confidence when they saw what I had done and they all ganged up to also serve themselves in large portions. The amount of food assembled on our table made it look like a gathering of famous rocks assembled in one location. It was a matter of time before our table caught everyone’s attention and security operatives were informed to throw us out.

Currently, we are stranded in Abuja and so we are pleading to whoever is heading to Lagos to give us a lift. Please share with others too, someone might be headed for Lagos.

The only housemate that had to face disqualification in the just concluded Big Brother Naija show, Tacha has deleted all her Instagram photos like all other celebrities have been doing to show a sign of a new beginning.

However, she has recently uploaded 3 photos that indicated that she has being signed under the management of TeeBillz called Billz Vision.

It would be recalled that when Tacha got disqualified from the show, Teebillz took to social media to vow that he would make Tacha a Bigger brand than Big brother, looks like he is on the mission to fulfilling that already.

Katung Aduwak, the first ever winner of Big Brother Naija Reality Show in March 2006 has some advice to share with the latest winner, Mercy Eke.

Katung regarded the advice as unsolicited but he had to do it anyway; he advised Mercy to run with her own visions and not just follow the plans her fans might have had for her.

He also added that she should make sure to keep the set of friends she has made during her stay in the big brother house because they are going to be of a good help to her. However, he seemed to be pleased that she and Diane are friends because he mentioned that it is a good one and complimented Diane to be a good person.

Numerous opinion has clouded the social media space since the #SexForGrade videos surfaced on the internet.

Quite a number of people have praised the BBC Africa journalists for exposing the rut in Nigerian Universities. However, some have also expressed their displeasure and condemn the BBC crew for ridiculing the Nigerian education system. A number of Twitter users claim the international own broadcasting channel have ulterior motives and were specifically accused for showing the bad side and overlooking the good.

A particular user stated that the intent of BBC was to ridicule the Nigerian education system with the aim to increase the number of Nigerian applicants into foreign universities.

Some even went as far as calling out their Nigerian staff for collaborating with the news outlet to tarnish the image of, not only Nigeria but Africa as a whole.

The first lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Aisha Buhari has reacted to the undercover "Sex for Grades' documentary video released by BBC Africa released on Monday, October 7th.

In reaction to the shocking revelation portrayed by the viral video at the exclusive screening in Lagos last night, the first lady represented by Mrs Aisha Rimi, a lawyer, strongly condemned the action by the lecturer. 

She also stressed that the issue of sexual harassment against women was not only unique to Universities but has become prevalent in other facets of the society which includes religious places. 

Aisha Buhari, the first lady of Nigeria, has reacted to the BBC Africa's ‘Sex for Grades’ documentary released on Monday October 7th.

“This simply has to change. It is no longer enough to sweep allegations under the carpet or force victims to withdraw their allegations, victimise or stigmatise them,” she said.

The first lady also emphasized that there are laws to protect victims of sexual harassment and abuse, but such laws cannot be effectively utilized except victims speak out to get justice. She pledged to use her influence to fight for the eradication of sexual abuse against women.

A senior lecturer of the Faculty of Arts at the University Of Lagos, Dr Boniface Igbeneghu has stated he will not be speaking anytime soon on the video released by BBC on the allegations of sexual harassment levelled against him.

The associate pastor with the Foursquare Gospel Church, Boni was exposed in an undercover BBC Africa documentary on ‘Sex for grades’ in West African universities. He was caught on tape making sexual advances and forcefully harassing a journalist who posed as a 17-year-old student seeking his assistance in gaining admission into the university.

When contacted by Punch, Igbeneghu said he would not be pressured to speak on the allegation.

“I work for the University of Lagos; if you want any reaction, talk to the university. Contact the information unit and they will tell you the correct position. If I talk, I will be running foul of the varsity law. Don’t put unnecessary pressure on me to say beyond what I have said,” he said.

However, the University of Lagos and FourSquare Gospel Church have suspended him.

It was quite an eventful week in the social media space. The ship wreckage all started when Jaruma unfollowed Tacha after promising her 50 million naira following her disqualification from the Big Brother. The reason for the fallout between the two is yet to be known but Tacha also returned the favour and unfollowed Her Royal Priestess, Jaruma. This development ignited a massive condemnation by social media users. Most of the conversations were centered around Jaruma’s nature of work. The claims from users allegedly suggested that Jaruma was cashing out on the charms she sells to women to trap men.

As the Jaruma conversation slowly faded into the thin air like a fart, the Titans erupted like an angry volcano and started trending a hashtag #CongratulationsTacha. The trend was prompted by the press release made by Tacha to congratulate the housemates who made it to the top five. She also clarified that she had no hate whatsoever for any housemate despite being disqualified for a fallout between her and Mercy.

The #CongratulationsTacha hashtag thickened more and more as the day progressed. Tacha’s absence at the Big Brother Saturday Night Party triggered more Titan enforcements and literally everywhere, particularly twitter was flooded with conversations about Tacha.

The grand finale day came and you’d have expected the tyranny of the Titans to have ended. Rather than putting a stop, they took another route and came up with another hashtag #TachaOur winner. Team Mercy also came up with a countermeasure to contain the oppression but failed as their hashtag #MercyForTheMoney could not match up with the Titan fleet. The conversation cascaded into the finale and retained the top five trending topics on Twitter.

The discussion transitioned from hyping Tacha to hoping Mercy does not win. The intensity grew, even more, when Tacha uploaded a picture of herself minutes before the winner was announced.

There was a turn of event when Mercy was announced as the winner of BBNaija Pepper Dem. Obviously disappointed by the announcement made by Ebuka (host of BBNaija), the Titans went missing like the 36 million naira snake swallowed and the dialogue sunk deep into the ocean. A state of emergency was declared for the missing Titans and up till now, no discovery has been made so far.

The Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry shares his fear of losing his wife, Meghan Markle who has been a victim of bullying from the British tabloid media over the years.

Prince Harry in an emotional statement he shared on the 1st of October, 2019, made it known that they are taking legal action against Mail on Sunday newspaper over the publication of a private letter, which in his words:

“Were published unlawfully in an intentionally destructive manner to manipulate the reader and further the divisive agenda of the media group in question” and also



“They purposely misled you by strategically omitting select paragraphs, specific sentences, and even singular words to mask the lies they had perpetuated for over a year”

He also stated that his deepest fear is history repeating itself:

“I’ve seen what happens when someone I love is commoditised to the point that they are no longer treated or seen as a real person. I lost my mother and now I watch my wife falling victim to the same powerful forces”.

Prince Harry’s mum, Princess Diana reportedly died in 1997 when her car crashed in a Paris tunnel while being chased by photographers.

As a couple, we believe in media freedom and objective, truthful reporting. We regard it as a cornerstone of democracy and in the current state of the world – on every level – we have never needed responsible media more.

Unfortunately, my wife has become one of the latest victims of a British tabloid press that wages campaigns against individuals with no thought to the consequences – a ruthless campaign that has escalated over the past year, throughout her pregnancy and while raising our newborn son.

There is a human cost to this relentless propaganda, specifically when it is knowingly false and malicious, and though we have continued to put on a brave face – as so many of you can relate to – I cannot begin to describe how painful it has been. Because in today’s digital age, press fabrications are repurposed as truth across the globe. One day’s coverage is no longer tomorrow’s chip-paper.

Up to now, we have been unable to correct the continual misrepresentations – something that these select media outlets have been aware of and have therefore exploited on a daily and sometimes hourly basis.

It is for this reason we are taking legal action, a process that has been many months in the making. The positive coverage of the past week from these same publications exposes the double standards of this specific press pack that has vilified her almost daily for the past nine months; they have been able to create lie after lie at her expense simply because she has not been visible while on maternity leave. She is the same woman she was a year ago on our wedding day, just as she is the same woman you’ve seen on this Africa tour.

For these select media this is a game, and one that we have been unwilling to play from the start. I have been a silent witness to her private suffering for too long. To stand back and do nothing would be contrary to everything we believe in.

This particular legal action hinges on one incident in a long and disturbing pattern of behaviour by British tabloid media. The contents of a private letter were published unlawfully in an intentionally destructive manner to manipulate you, the reader, and further the divisive agenda of the media group in question. In addition to their unlawful publication of this private document, they purposely misled you by strategically omitting select paragraphs, specific sentences, and even singular words to mask the lies they had perpetuated for over a year.

There comes a point when the only thing to do is to stand up to this behaviour, because it destroys people and destroys lives. Put simply, it is bullying, which scares and silences people. We all know this isn’t acceptable, at any level. We won’t and can’t believe in a world where there is no accountability for this.

Though this action may not be the safe one, it is the right one. Because my deepest fear is history repeating itself. I’ve seen what happens when someone I love is commoditised to the point that they are no longer treated or seen as a real person. I lost my mother and now I watch my wife falling victim to the same powerful forces.

We thank you, the public, for your continued support. It is hugely appreciated. Although it may not seem like it, we really need it.

The Mail on Sunday has, however, denied the claim via their spokesman:

“The Mail on Sunday stands by the story it published and will be defending this case vigorously. Specifically, we categorically deny that the Duchess’s letter was edited in any way that changed its meaning.”

Social media went on rage fury following Tacha's imminent disqualification from the Big Brother Naija house. Her quarrel with Mercy who also got two strikes,  prompted Tacha's disqualification with just 10 days to go.

Over the last few months, the social media sensation has been the trending character in the big brother house. The screen has caught her involved in multiple confrontations with other housemates and has gotten viewers to place the controversial tag on her. Her consistent controversial nature has won her more Titans(her fanbase name) than she probably bargained for with most considering her as brave and bold.

However, there was a twist of fate when Tacha was disqualified following her involvement in a subtle physical combat with fellow housemate, Mercy. Her disqualification saw happier social media users who could not contain their joy at the news.

Despite being heavily trolled across social media, Tacha's disqualification from the Big Brother Naija house has however attracted sympathy from many, far and beyond. The very notable figures such as Jaruma, and Bobrisky amongst many others have promised to give Tacha a huge sum of money.  Jaruma and Bobrisky promised Tacha 50 million naira and 1 milliion naira respectively.

Teebillz, ex-husband of Tiwa Savage, also revealed his interest in what appears to be managerial duties for Tacha. In defence of the heavy trolls, Teebillz declared Tacha the most bankable brand of all the housemates, "even bigger than Big Brother itself". He also stated his intentions to make Tacha the biggest brand out of Africa.

As a matter of fact, a GoFundMe account was created by a very influential twitter user @tweetoracle to contribute money to support Tacha’s dreams and aspirations. Despite the heavy backlash he got from this action, he has not given up on campaigning to Titans to make their donations. This was confirmed in a series of recent tweet he made of his page soliciting on Tacha’s behalf.

OUR OPINION

Over the weekend, we followed this story on social media and also tabled it on our WhatsApp group. We realized everyone had a similar opinion about the giveaway feast, ‘audio money’. We have RudeBoy to thank for releasing a song to match the current situation.

Audio money as defined by one of our contributors, “na money wey dem no dey see”, in other words, money that can only be heard but will never be seen. Technically, most social media users believe some of the claims to give Tacha a huge and ludicrous amount are just empty promises.

However, one character that actually tensioned everyone is Jaruma, who was the trending topic all through the weekend for promising to gift Tacha a whooping sum of 50 million naira. Perhaps, we thought it was a slip of tongue but she confirmed it severally and it is overwhelmingly unimaginable someone can actually gift out 50 million naira like it is 50 naira. You did not hear it from us but several comments on twitter most especially suggested Jaruma should be investigated by EFCC.

To wrap it up, the priority step we think Tacha should really take is to work on her character. This controversy goes way beyond her releasing an official statement to apologize, she needs to do a lot to redeem her identity. She needs to let her guard down a bit, embrace people around her, let down her ego a bit and settle her differences with everyone possible, this will put her in a position to be a better person. Tacha is a star regardless, even the votes despite after being disqualified, justified how much she is loved.

Adesuwa Onyenokwe who had an interview with Busola Olotu, one of Biodun Fatoyinbo’s former mentor, revealed in an interview she had on AriseTV that a married woman who was pregnant has also come forward to accuse the clergyman of sexual assault.

She said:

There is a lot of cases we could have brought put when we found out. There is a woman who was pregnant for her husband at the time that this said Pastor did rape her. That woman is still married to her husband.



Can she ever publicly come out and say this is what this man did to me? She can’t because first of all, most of the young girls he has done this to are married. How many men in Nigeria are like Timi Dakolo?
