Confusion, heartbreak, and disappointment prevail amongst Nigerians as the first film ever submitted to the Oscars has now been disqualified from its category (Best International Feature Film).

Though, ‘Lionheart’ was not vetted by the Academy’s International Feature Film Award Executive Committee when the NOSC first picked the film.

After a recent viewing, the Academy deemed the film to have too much English dialogue and disqualified it from the Best International Feature Film category which until this year was known as Best Foreign Language Film.

It was disclosed on Monday through an email from the Academy which entails that the movie was disqualified because it violates a rule that entries in the category must have “a predominantly non-English dialogue track.”

Lionheart though was partially in the Igbo language but mostly in English.

On the night of November 4, 2019, London was graced by the presence of the African Giant, Burna Boy.

It was revealed that the singer sold out the event, which held at SSE Arena, Wembley in London. The SSE Arena, Wembley is a 12,500 capacity arena close to Wembley Stadium, London. Burna Boy reportedly sold it out.

It has been gathered and spread out by multiple sources that Nigeria's Starboy Wizkid and Beyonce have started shooting the music video for Brown Skin Girl.

You might remember that the song was one of the Africa-centric tracks on Beyonce's album, The Lion King: The Gift. It also features Beyonce's daughter, Blue Ivy Carter and SAINt Jhn.

Zlatan’s highly teased album; ‘Zanku: The Album‘ is set for release this Friday, November 1, 2019.

The album which features Davido, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Patoranking, Barry Jhay and so forth has 17 tracks – 15 main and two bonus. Production was done by Speroach, Rexxie, Spellz, Kiddominant, IamBeatz and Miraqulous.beatz.

Zlatan took to Instagram on Monday, October 28, 2019, to make the announcement.

He wrote:

It would be recalled that earlier this month, The Headies had its 13th annual ceremony in which many Nigerian artistes got nominated for more than one award category but didn’t have the privilege to win any.

Amongst these sets of people is Zlatan, who was nominated for 3 awards, namely: Next rated, Best street-hop Artiste and Song of the Year. Unfortunately, he didn’t win any of these awards which over the weeks have caused a lot of debate and uproars amongst fans and celebrities who believe the recipients of those awards are not qualified enough to have won.

Tacha granted an exclusive interview with media personality, Daddy Freeze, where she reiterated that Diane had punched her eye that particular day but Biggie did nothing about it and he failed to address it till she left the house.

Naira Marley’s alleged credit card fraud was opened on Wednesday before the Federal High Court in Lagos, with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission providing an Apple laptop and iphone which they claim was recovered from him.

Though pleading not guilty during his arraignment in May, he is said to be facing eleven counts before Justice Nicholas Oweibo. Despite granted bail in the sum of two million naira with two sureties, it seems now that the EFCC has gotten evidences to use against him.



During the trial opening, an investigator with the EFCC, Nuru Buhari, said the anti-graft agency traced and recovered damning evidence of credit card fraud from Naira Marley’s laptop. Buhari, who told the court earlier that he works in the EFCC forensic department, said an analysis of Naira Marley’s laptop showed that he frequented the top five most-visited websites which deal in buying and selling stolen credit cards.

Few days ago, social media was buzzing after Davido announced the arrival of his son, David Ifeanyi with his wife, Chioma.

However, it looks like some are actually not very pleased with the news. A video of two ladies recently surfaced on the internet, on Wednesday 23, 2019, accusing Davido of impregnating one of them.

The lady narrated how she came across Davido’s manager, Lati, at Eko hotel who introduced her to Davido who out-rightly had sex with her sister right in her presence. She also claimed she has been trying to get his attention to come father his baby but he has been ignoring her.

Outraged by the news, Davido has reacted to the video stating that her claim is just an “audio pregnancy” and vows to jail the both of them for making these false claims.

Disney has undoubtedly been on fire to become the first Hollywood company to have five films (Avengers: Endgame, Captain Marvel, Aladdin, The Lion King and Toy Story 4) released this year and now with the recent release of Maleficent 2: Mistress of Evil.

Maleficent 2014 opened with $69 million and legged it to $241.41 million domestic and $758 million worldwide on a $180 million budget, made the Global Box Office hit, was directed by Robert Stromberg and had its lead character, Angelina Jolie as Maleficent.

The film goes on to introduce Maleficent and her goddaughter, Aurora. Their relationship is one born out of heartbreak, revenge and ultimate love which flourished over the years, but the hatred between man and the fairies still refuse to end.

Aurora eventually falls in love with Prince Phillip and the marriage between the two of them hopes to unite the two worlds; the Kingdom of Ulstead and the Neighbouring Moors.

Maleficent then comes across a conniving queen whose plan is to destroy the land’s fairies. In her quest to stop her, she joins forces with a seasoned warrior and a group of outcasts to battle the queen and her powerful army.

Maleficent and her goddaughter begin to question their complex family ties that bind them as they are pulled in different directions by imminent marriage, unexpected allies and new dark forces at play.

These two were eventually pulled apart to opposing sides in a great war to test their loyalties. Can they truly be family and overcome all obstacles?…
