Lemme give u a defination of NERD: a sexually matured person that plays games all weekdays, watches FLASH instead of GOT, hu probably plays GTA 5 everyday like its a real life game, whu thinks becoming a super manger in FIFA makes him able to handle a FOOTBALL CLUB and finally thinks DAVIDO and WIZ KID are just fund-raisers for polio eradication projects grin...example...: YOU

Nerd (adjective: nerdy) is a descriptive term, often used pejoratively, indicating that a person is overly intellectual, obsessive, or socially impaired. (source: wikipedia)

I will choose intellectual dominance over social acceptance anyday, anytime.

Oh you mean Margaery.

I don't think Margaery is as cold as Cersei, she certainly has a manipulative streak about her but I don't see her giving completely to wickedness. I mean, right now Cersei has placed a bounty on her brother's head for the murder of the king, that's something I think only a cold hearted and wicked person can do, not Margaery.

We have seen how such benevolent dispositions can be used against people in this series so I think Cersei is more likely to outsmart Margaery because of this "weakness".
Cersei is wicked but margery is cunny (I think that's the word). Their house sigil is a rose (beautiful on the outside but has thorns that will Bleep you up).

I love the conversation between Jon snow and the lady of light..... "you know nothing Jon snow"

I love video games especially action/adventure games filled with puzzles..what most pple don't know Is that games actually exercise ur brain, it gives ur brain a good workout..cause some games before u beat a level u really have to be smart, calculating and one step ahead of mr computer.

Playing games like tomb raider 2&3 back then in secondary bursted my reasoning skills...tomb raider puzzles and soul reaver puzzles na die and it even built my patience, persistence and perseverance.
True that. I usually play games while coding else I sleep off (na midnight we dey see light for my area). It also helps me think.
GamingRe: Call Of Duty Vs. Battlefield: Which Is The Better FPS Game? by gj22(m): 7:33pm On Apr 16, 2015
Okay, so I have played bf3 and can confirm it is nothing like cod:bo2. It's not as much fun as cod and the graphics is not so good but the animation is good tho. If you keep pressing forward and a table is blocking you, you will just phase through the table (never happened in cod).

Also, the maps are too dark and the enemies are tiny compared to cod. You could be aiming right at someone but if you don't tag or spot (using 'back' on 360) the person, you won't see the person.

It's also difficult to differentiate teammates from enemies at times because only a small triangle like marker is shown on your teammates head compared to cod where it's their full gamertag.

It's also difficult sometimes to tell what direction someone is shooting you from, the screen just keeps getting darker and darker.

On the plus side,

Animations are better

Everyone has a role, it's mor than just KDR (kill death ratio)

The mini map is on the bottom left

And your weapon doesn't take too much space on the screen like cod.

That your number one is peculiar to all gamers. But the internet thing is the most important I rember when I bought my xbox one from jumia last december quite cheap but when I switched on console and tried signing in to Xbox live I had a compulsory 9.6gb update. Buh its up and running now anytime to upate comes I just go to a freinds place and do the update. Live its the single largest money drainer due to internet connection.
9.6gig? Was it a brand new Xbox? Slim or phat? Am on live too, mainly play COD and BF. I usually buy live subscription from g2a(.)com, far cheaper than microsoft's. What Internet plan do you use?

Me I like video games very well...but consoies appears to be expensive to maintain..I mean...5 high end PS4 games could be running you into 15-20k times 5...du the math...am thinking of building my own gaming PC ...since internet is still lagging in nigeria...will just rely on campaign modes...and if u understand video game anatomy u will notice that PC is the ultimate...PS4 and Xbox one have limited hardware components...can't wait for my 16GB Ram beast...hooked up to my 4K sony TV(lawwd)...GTA 5 and project cars go suffer o!
Yeah, it's thru that games on consoles are expensive compared to pcs where you can just download or buy cheap games. I got ma 360 for 30k (fairly used) and buy games for 4k each (I have about 8. ). I mostly play multiplayer using mtn 4.5gig for 2500naira. Of course its not enuf, u might end up subscribing 2ice in a month. But the speed is good enuf for online gaming.

I don't quite agree with the op on what you wrote up there most gamers like me can afford the console pay Internet bills monthly but I hardly see any reason to play online the Internet speed is crap here in naija, apart from Nepa or PHCN can't be a barrier when your are playing, there are ups, inverter or I pass my neighbour Gen at least, those should take care of your power issues.Stereo type?nah not in this country, most gamers are actually very good academically, plus not all are nerds, alot of blokes in Naija are gamers and they are very good.
Mtn's speed is decent @3mbps (megabits) but a lil too expensive. Even glo is manageable but only at midnight @1mbps(megabits). Running gen etc is extra cost. I usually have to subscribe about 3times a month for mtn@2500naira each.

GamingRe: Call Of Duty Vs. Battlefield: Which Is The Better FPS Game? by gj22(m): 9:05am On Apr 15, 2015
I think I can contribute to this. Having played 3 installments of COD(COD:MW, COD:MW2, COD:BOP2) on my 360, I decided to try battlefield 3. I just bought bf3 yesterday (I actually wanted to buy bf:hardline but they didn't even have bf4) but I have only been able to play it for a few hours thanks to phcn. Anyway, cod is fun but I feel battlefield will be more fun because it focuses on teamplay.

Note: I am talking about multiplayer as I have not even played single player on any fps before.

That 40 gig cant last a month! 1 week and it is finished!
Dude, 40gig? I wish I had that too. I use the mtn 2500 night plan, it's 4.5gig sad. I end up subscribing at least 2ice a month

Hi guys, I am an online gamer too but sadly on the 360. Not that the 360 is bad but everyone in Nigeria seems to prefer the twin (ps3).
Anyway, just ignore the ignorant people who prefer to stereotype gamers, like Jon snow, they know nothing. Mostly game on call on duty and battlefield. Fps is my specialty.

Don't mind him.

Currently, there are lots of Nigerians on Freelancer and most likely oDesk & Elance.

And you can even sell stuff anonymously - with a virtual address, a pseudonym and virtual assistants - from any country of your choice.
So, you think the system is different for those sites? I am on all those sites you mentioned and the problem is still the same. Most people do not want to wire money because it's really expensive. Most people in the international online market go with PayPal. It's like making 10k when what you really should be making is 100k.

It's not a matter of minding me, it's a matter of knowing what the hell you are talking about before talking.

I am sorry, have you ever heard of the word 'wire transfer' ?
Wire transfers are very expensive especially for upcoming developers. And some software middlemen e.g Google play and amazon appstore do not offer them. I wrote the challenges earlier in a post on page 2 or so. I am a BlackBerry developer so, I know what I am talking about.

And as a joke, 'wire transfer' is not a word, it's 2 words. grin

this is exactly what has lingered in my mind for some time now. We need to start a tech revolution. This should start with you and me...
What is the contribution and efforts of people like Seun Osewa, Mark Essien and Sims Shagaya who have made it big in IT. Nairaland doesnt even have an office yet.
Oga Seun, How does relatively low profiled people like myself who have nothing more than some knowledge in C, Python and Web development under their belt contribute? I want a reply
Fortunately for you, C is the foundation in which most mobile apps as well as softwares are built upon. Expand your knowledge to include the children of c (c#,c++) and then start with mobile development.

You are one of a kind, always believing everything Nigerian must be lower quality than what is sold abroad. And another problem with your reasoning methodology is; Any time you hear the word abroad, your mind goes to America, Europe and Canada. Does it occur to you that Nigerians can export softwares to Ghana, Togo, Benin, all other African countries, Asia and Oceania ?

Please endeavor to overhaul your thought process, its negatively infectious. No offense, just helping you think right.
If you have tried getting on the global market, you would know that trade is done most time through a middle person and most of the time the middle person is PayPal. And unfortunately, PayPal doesn't trust Nigerians simple as that. So it doesn't matter if it's Africa or Asia or the Americas. If your trade is not internal (within Nigeria) , you are screwed. And we all know that dealing softwares in Nigeria is more than half less profitable that international.

Just letting you know that your analysis is wrong.
ProgrammingRe: Software Developers Could Save Nigeria After Oil - Mark Essien by gj22(m): 9:44pm On Mar 21, 2015
Software development is a broad field and you actually need the basics to be a full part of it. Unfortunately, these so called basics are basics around the world but not basic in Nigeria.

I am a software developer for BlackBerry world and being/living in Nigeria is the sole challenge I face.

Firstly, there is the "power" problem, we all know what this problem is so I don't need to go into details.

Secondly is the internet problem. Yes, glo 1k bis is not enough when you want to watch online tutorial videos or learn from people that actually know dafuq they are doing.

Thirdly is the reputation problem. Nigeria's reputation for scamming is really hurting software developers taking part in the global market which is the internet.
PayPal shut us out so, we have to look for jobs that do not require PayPal specifically. This is really discouraging especially when you are just starting . For instance,if you make 100$ in a month selling BlackBerry apps, barely half of that would get to you due to one fee or the other for using bank wire transfers instead of the general PayPal. And some it's either PayPal or no payment.

Long story short, until Nigeria becomes accepted in the global "virtual" market, being an independent software developer is going to be hurdle after hurdle.

Having an incomplete update file also occupies memory and my best guess is it is grouped under system files, that's probably why he has such a large system file size.

Blackberry really should exclude the storage space system files will take when dishing out memory specs. It was okay to include them in the days of bbos since their sizes were not up to a gig but now that they are 3gig+, it's not cool at all.

Imagine buying a phone of 8gig internal memory only to discover system files take up to half of it.

Just to clarify something, the official name for the OS on legacy devices (torch, bold etc) is BlackBerry OS or BBOS for short while on new devices(q10, z10 etc) it is BlackBerry 10 or BB10 for short. Just to avoid confusion.

Someone once asked me how he can update his bbos and after typing the whole long process for updating legacy devices, he said he was talking of his z10.

well funny enough, out of frustration, i slotted the battery into the phone this morning and the fone rebooted normally to my greatest surprise.
The screen kept flickering with flashes of white light streaking horizontally against the backgroud. Unfortunatelym, as the phone grew warmer, the screen got brighter until the fone went off.
I pressed the power button and the fone began its antics all over again: namely, blank dark screen with the blue LED lights. Out of curiosity, i dialed my bbq10's fone number using a different fone and i could hear it ring from the dummy fone's earpice even though the q10 remained silent,

so ive been thinking... Do you think it only just needs a new screen cos maybe the heat from the processor burnt the screen's "i.c"?... huh
I think it's a device hardware failure. My bro's z10 does almost same thing. But he just holds the power button till it starts counting down then releases it. I think it's cause by overheating. Remove your phone from pouch and remove the back of necessary. Use phone on edge alone and uninstalling unnecessary apps might help cool the pricessor
