You can change your Status to F1, but to get a 'VISA', in order to travel in and out of USA with that status, you have to travel outside the US.

So your status changes, you are legal, but in order to get a VISA which enables you to come back into the US in-case you travel, you have to leave the US to get a VISA. You cannot be issued a VISA inside the US.
.... Pls how long does it take to convert the B1 visa to an F1

Stupid generalisation.

They should add ignorance of some men to the list as to why people divorce. With a brain like this, who can blame them?

The birth of a megacity does not come cheaply but I tell you Lagos govt has put the cart before the horse. Now you mention street by street transport among other things. The issues has to do with the highways where the roads are riddled with drum holes and consequently traffic is slowed. For a person living on the island, you not be privileged to see the chaos at various mainland bus stops. From Agbado to ijaiye to agege to ikeja all the way to oshodi. Ikorodu road, apapa road, okokomaiko, ajngbadi are places you'll see people sweat it out. The ban would have make sense if the roads are ok. Worse still when the community gathers to do something about the roads, somebody just shows up from alausa to frustrate the community effort claimimg that it's government responsibility. Yet no action from them. It seems to me that power of positive reasoning is lacking in our leaders. Ban them if you must but do the right things first.
u r spot on bro!!...billionaire should see how pple suffer between volks and barracks, iyana ipaja and agege, ikorodu to know the hardship this restriction is causing...atleast let the govt FIX THE ROAdS!!!

Billyonaire: To the contrary, I am very impressed that I drive within VI at lightening speed, no more okada getting in my way. I was especially very happy today as I drove through my routes in VI and the entire VI looks so gorgeous, organized and serene without Okada. Fashola got this right but in a very harsh way as the okada riders have no life support buoy and the Okada loving commuters have no alternatives. To me, its been wonderful.
R u talking about another VI...cos the traffic today was particularly very hectic....
Phones / Re: Differences Between Gprs, Edge, 3g, Hsdpa, Hspa+ And 4g Lte by glb2012: 4:41pm On Nov 08, 2012
xcitedjay: While conversing with a friend I was asked the differences between GPRS, EDGE and 3G, decided to share my little knowledge about the topic in case you might be confused about it too.

Before advancing, it should be known that 1G, 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G etc refers to the different generations of wireless communication technology characterized by having a defined range of speed.

GPRS(General Packet Radio Service)
GPRS is a packet-based* wireless communication service. It is a 2G technology network that support a download speed of up to 114Kbps.
Limitation of GPRS is that GPRS data cannot be sent while a voice call is in progress.
Nice one....very educative
EDGE(Enhanced Data GSM Evolution)
GPRS and EDGE are both 2G technology but EDGE is significantly faster with a download speed of up to 384Kbps. EDGE is sometimes called a 2.5G network as it also has some characteristics of a 3G network but it doesn't satisfy the specification.

3G
Introduction of 3G network made video calling and seamless streaming of video possible, with download speed of up to 3.1Mbps.

HSDPA(High-Speed Down-link Packet Access)
It is based on the 3G network and an enhancement to 3G. Thus has a faster speed, download speed can be up to 14Mbps. HSDPA is sometimes called 3.5G.

HSPA+(Evolved High-Speed Packet Access)
HSPA+ is an evolution HSPA(HSDPA&HSUPA). It is a 4G technology that allows download at a rate of up to 168Mbps.

4G LTE(Long Term Evolution)
LTE is a 4G communication standard that supports HD video streaming, download speed as high as 299.6Mbps.

Summary
GPRS(114Kbps) < EGDE(368Kbps) < 3G(3.1Mbps) < HSDPA(14Mbps) < HSPA+(168Mbps) < 4G/LTE(299.6Mbps)

By the way, I posted this using a GPRS connection.

*Packet-based means data is broken into packets before being transmitted.

Politics / Re: Aregbesola Is Positioning Himself As The Next Yoruba Leader - PDP Worried by glb2012: 9:54pm On Apr 15, 2012
Gbawe:

grin grin grin You know this 'airhead' very well.

@Topic. Certainly the FG will be very uncomfortable with Aregbesola's 'back to basics' endeavour. The man is passionate about his people and region. What is wrong with that in a country where the federal structure 'designed' to bring progress is actually a stumbling block preventing the development of all regions?

Certainly, regional integration remains perhaps the only viable way forward for Nigeria while we have a pseudo-federal system in place that is , in reality, an autocratic 'tool' facilitating the organised looting of the wealth of a Nation by a few. It is a measure of the hypocrisy and confusion of certain folks that they now rise against what they fervently backed yesterday because of how the President they clannishly supported is not interested in the things they previously claimed were the solutions to Nigeria's problems. Thse who mercilessly spammed Nairaland yesterday about SNC now find it 'conducive' to hypocritically support how GEJ has outlawed this option.

They shouted "true federalism" non-stop under Yar Adua and touted the concept of "regions developing at their own pace". Today they are silent about those issues because GEJ is a poster child of central control of Nigeria's wealth. He is a disciple of profligate administrative practices including discredited 'old school' wastage associated with the sort of bloated and inefficient governance that has no place in a modern world of prudence, utmost fiscal discipline and effective management of scarce resources. All in all, it is very obvious why the nest of killers PDP would be very uncomfortable with any leader touting genuine regional integration. "Business as usual" is threatened when Nigerians begin to have a strong sense of regional awareness, pride and identity.
