in essence, you're actually making money but your bad car is the one taking most of it, someone using a very sound car won't experience what you're experiencing.
The car might even be in perfect condition, but the question should be: when was the last time he spent such amount on maintenance, and was it on the same issue?
You know say some people go dey cash out steadily and when the tool they use come ask for small maintenance, complain go burst out and dem go start to dey condemn the hustle. grin
Like say the tool suppose work till the end of time without requiring any anything at all. 😁😁😁

They will come for you!
Let me guess the line......"he's not using the right tool"

I have spent over 200k in a month fixing my car. If it's not engine, it's cranshaft or cranshaft sensor. Just changed tyres this afternoon. Got a trip on bolt to ajah for 16k. Another from Ajah to Anthony village 17500. I don dey happy say the day is going well until tyre kpafuka. 50k don go for tyre and alignment.

Don't get it twisted....people are making millions in this same hustle 😊
@the bold, would you spend this same amount next month? smiley
Nobody go come for anybody on top say person talk about wetin everybody dey face in the hustle that is normal.
Na when someone come and condemn the hustle wahala dey gas, which I no dey get myself involved, anyways.
Na encouragement that brother needs, no discouragement.
Cos no matter what one expended in a month, you go make your money back in multiple folds in that month.
God no go shame us.

Sure, maintenance is the soul of the hustle, but all those things you fixed, no matter the amount, you won't do them every week.

Maybe in the next 8 - 10 months, you won't touch those things you just fixed.

Now, tell us, would you make your money back in multiple folds or not?

It's a business like every other out there, there is always cost of maintenance.

Move on, boss. smiley

Djdamian:
But why should this be the case?

Why should an owner cry for entrusting a vehicle to someone to make a living for himself and in return pay a certain commission to the owner? Are you implying that all drivers are wired mentally to cause pain to owners?
@the bold - no, sir.
That's why I didn't generalize by using 'SOME'.
Some people don't know how to pamper and take care of a car.
If you see the way they use cars ehn, and when it starts demanding for huge cost of maintenance, na there wahala go start.
Owner would be forced to drop huge money due to agreement while the driver balanced it up, whereas, drivers dey make x3 of the remittance.
As time goes on, owner go dey vex say maintenance dey collect all his money grin while him driver dey ball - but agreement is agreement nah - 50/50, 60/40 - 40/60? grin.
The worst of it all na drivers wey no sabi save - that one go ruin the car, the owner and himself and end in premium crying. grin

When I was doing rental, the only major thing my oga did on the car was buying me a new DC radiator (30k+ plus fixing), when the one inside got weakened, I took the whole of maintenance upon myself.
Na me dey take care of everything till I bought the car from the person.

Now, the question is, how many drivers can take 80% of maintenance on rental agreement knowing fully well that he's saving x2 or x3 of his remittance?

They would rather make owners purge the money out until he gets frustrated.

Mind you, na the driver dey abuse the car.

But some who get fear of God go give their owner peace of mind.

Some, not all.

Much respect, sir.

There is premium cry and low-budget cry. grin

I can imagine how frustrating it would have been.

Lastly, some places I no go ever pick riders, that Sam Ethan Airforce base dey among - including ICM, Ikeja Cantonment, Bonny camp.

I saw a Tiktok video of a guy that was fined at 3:50am on that MBA road, same thing he said, will he be moving slow at midnight. But I still believe the fines is extortion because no road sign whatsoever, atimes you forget speed limit when you are in hurry. Imagine, Omoapena was fined at 65km/phr. Moreso, 80km/hr on 3MB is not fair for such highway.
Thank you, my brother.
One this I know be say, sooner or later, this stuff go cause wahala between motorists and the officials (law).
Cos clearly, it is pure extortion.
That 80km on 3mb dey vex me, feels unreasonable.

not everyone is aware of the speeding camera or the enforcement yet, by the time VIO stops them or they want to renew their papers, that's when they will know...

But at night, just like most traffic lights stop functioning that you can drive without their caution, shey the speed limits also stand on late night driving?
Like, one would still get captured if they exceed the speed limit even if say na late hour for night?

I picked one order where I was positioned around kajola road, Iju ishaga.
Upon arriving at the PU, the security opened the compound gate for me to drive in.
Due to the narrow compound, I made a turning to drive in with reverse but unfortunately, there was a sharp protruding rail at their entrance, punctured my tyre and damaged it instantly.
While the madam dey blast the security say dem never fix that sharp rail since, me I just dey sober inside of me say which kind wahala be this...
Buyin a new tyre just dey ring in my head. angry
So, while I was trying to replace the tyre with my extra, the madam say make she call her tyre guy that we go sort the money 50/50... I happy small say well, I no lose much be that.
Tyre guy came with two types and I chose one.
We got a vulcanizer, tyre fixed and madam say make I no bother that she would sort everything.
Omoh, I happy die. cheesy
The points the woman raised as her consideration were;
1) That all through the moment of the incident from be beginning, I was very calm and had no reaction at all, and I was very patient.

2) That since she had been ordering on "In drive", my car was the only clean and neat car she would ever see.

3) That the way I looked and dressed was very nice and attractive.

I appreciated her compliments and took her people to the destination on the app - Victoria Island.
When we go to the destination, madam sent me money and still added 10k extra.
That really brightened my mood. Me wey fasting dey hold my blokos already. grin
