Bro I'm too civilised to buy such a property,I won't be that stupid to do so no matter how cheap it comes. The said owner will soon sell it has he is getting nothing in return for his business and it is suffering!

The owner made a big mistake and didn't research properly.

The flooding on the road wasn't so bad at the time so his judgement could have been wrong. But still, his building plan was approved. He invested, got attacked. Why should he care about the people after his business was vandalized?

Do you know that if the govt constructs a better drainage system, no matter when, the value of that land will keep appreciating in value? Irrespective of whether sales are coming in or not.

Even if it takes 10 years to fix the road, the value of that property will be higher in 10 years.

What happens if a flood that's too big for that single property occurs? Will you tell other people to give up their lands?

Remember this is 2019. Problems can be solved more efficiently than just allowing water seep through to anywhere.

By destroy I mean total removal not just breaking glass windows and looting. The owner that bought that land should have known that it would block the channels. Almost all the the shops across have shutdown due to the flooding. Do you know how much is lost a day, compared to the eatery?

So why should one person shoulder the burden? Not like it was a free land.

The community has to provide another land as compensation if they're ready.

You cant bully an investator and destroy his business after legitimately selling land to him/her.

I live at mercyland, the bus stop before nkpolu. That water has affected my car more times than I can remember.

Still I maintain my position. If you want anyone to vacate a legitimately owned property then you have to offer a compensation. Take a moment to ponder on your reaction if it was your own property.
