Igede tribe in benue state needs serious national attention because we're part of this country called Nigeria.

I've come across countless threads on this platform lately with heartbreaking stories about married couples always at loggerheads and it makes me wonder if people no longer do courtship before going into marriage.
I believe courtship provides you an opportunity to see some unholesome character about your partner and decide whether you're compatible or poles apart.
It seems people (mostly guys) ignore so many bad signs from ladies while dating them all in the name of love which will later haunt them in life, it becomes an entanglement once children are involved.

Seeing all these negative stories everyday is a big discouragement for me, I'm in my early 30s planning to settle down soon but I keep asking myself if I will also become a victim of such situation someday, though my girlfriend appears very good now, she calls me, sends me text messages on phone and Facebook everyday with her airtime, she prays for me as well.
She has all the good qualities in her, I see her as a wife material, if I send her ordinary #200 airtime, she will show a lot of appreciation.

So I believe we still have a handful of good ones out there, but the majority of them are screwed up with wrong mentality about life.
So guys, please don't marry a spendthrif with bad character because of beauty, her beauty will fade away soon and it will be too late then, I really can't condone a besetting wife, i won't even allow my wife to torment me because I don't want to die early, so many husbands have died while their wives are still alive. But I believe the decline will start the moment China overtakes it Economically. The truth is that except in Africa, the US is no longer feared militarily. Once the US loses Economic power, allows China to become attractive and loses the effects of its sanctions, that will be the beginning of the end. It no longer has monopoly on nuclear power which propelled it to become a superpower.

I agree, America has a strong network of allies which China doesn't have at the moment.
Though we still don't know US strategy of containing China, but I don't think these countries will ever engage in military confrontation.

Also they are inventing new weapons everyday, maybe we're still going to see a more lethal weapons than nuclear warheads

That's not true. A lot of people speak English because of British influences not America. India, Pakistan, Nigeria, Philippines which have the highest number of English speakers save the US all speak English due to the Brits.

The question should be, will there ever be a powerful empire like the British empire. Those motherfuckers colonised 90% of the world, including the United States. Almost every country in the world has independence day because of Britain. On the other hand, Militarily, America has had troubles defeating its enemies in a major war since World War 2 (Cuba, Vietnam, Korea, Cambodia, Somalia, Iraq, Laos, Lebanon and now Afghanistan) and is constantly being checkmated by Russia.

It's Economic power and cultural impacts is mainly due to its size and population. The same reason Nigeria is able to culturally influence most of Western Africa.

But do you think America will become so weak like UK someday? Even after the dethronement.

As a heathen who believes in humanism, I'm free from religious bondage, the existence of God is something that bothers me a lot, we read so much about his mighty power in the Bible and quran, but how do we know all that story is real, how do we believe in someone that doesn't show himself (physical appearance) will I croak before I get the answers? we had a rebellious Israelites in the Bible despite all the miracles they witnessed through different prophets untill Jesus came, how do you expect this generation that never saw any of such to believe that he exist! Nigeria is littered with churches and mosques from every nook and cranny, we have the richest pastors on earth but look at the condition of our country today, why is God not answering our prayers? What could be wrong

well I can't relate with what u typed above. Here in the highly cosmopolitan city of Kano in de far north we don't baby mamas, all we have besides normal families is a high presence of broken homes, and divorced ladies

There are a lot of causes namely;

1. There isn't as much stigmatism on teenage pregnancy and single motherhood as it was before.
2. Most parents are becoming too negligent in raising children with morals.
3. The society is losing it's sense of moralities as a whole.
4. Lack of proper sex education.
5. Peer pressure. Etc

Yeah, the culture of shame has disappeared, many of them engage in bad lifestyle/behaviour and brazen it out.
