Christianity EtcRe: Is Using Body Spray (Perfume) A Sin Or Not? by God2man(m): 7:06pm On Nov 26, 2012
It is not a sin. It depends on the one you are using.

If you have body odour, it can become a serious problem to other people. It can make people to hate you, even if you are the right person for the Job.

Let's be wise.

God bless you.

Christianity EtcRe: How Satan Stop Prayers by God2man(m): 6:56pm On Nov 26, 2012
@Highyo, it is about perseverance on the altar of prayer, for example, the church may organized a 3 days fasting and prayer meeting, lazy christians will only go for the program for one day, thereby hindering the work of the angels sent to assist them.

This is the mystery of an unassisted angels of the living God.

Later such christians will be complaining bitterly that God has not answered their prayers.

Excellent topic.

Thanks and God bless.

Nasri100: 1) Overspeed: This point has got to be the most important factor to consider in avoiding accidents.

Incase you don't understand the term "Over speed"

Well "Overspeed" is a condition in which an engine is allowed or forced to turn beyond its design limit.

It has been noted that many motorists ignore the dangers of overspeed but recently,Several cases of fatal accidents have been a result of over speed and reckless driving. Drive carefully! Do not over speed !

2) Brake pads : Shouldn't I be classifying this factor under " Car parts " ? No!

Infact break failure are the number one causes of accidents involving trucks and larger vehicles.

Due to the nature of most Nigerian Roads, studies shows most road accidents in nigeria are caused by break failures especially from the larger vehicles and the nature of our roads hasn't helped matters.

Prevention! It is often said,is better than cure, although there certainly is no sure way to prevent the possibility of break failure accidents, but you can do your own part to save your life and others: Inspect and service your brakes regularly.

They are some warning signs that there is something wrong with your brakes include A squeaking noise when applying the brake.Take seriously it could probably be lack of brake fluid.

3) Natural causes are normal :

Natural weather conditions like Rain,Snow,Fog etc are Natural weather conditions that are bound to happen.

Ofcourse Rain has been the catalyst to most natural accident cases in nigeria.

When it rains it reduces the driver perception and is especially highly debilitating at night.
Rain affects the ability to see through the car windshield despite your wind shield wipers operating, the splashing and even your wind shield wipers also periodically block vision.

Don't need to tell you that wipers are never 100% efficient and always leave a smear of water across the wind shield,Never trust your wipers to do the job when it rains.

Be alert,Drive carefully and Do not over speed when it rains.

Interesting guy. You have to take it to the Lord in prayer to confirm that it is not demonic, ask God, be honest and wait for a reply. Once you are sure it is not a demonic manifestation. You go ahead for a higher spiritual counselling, i mean those who are higher than you in the things of God for the next step.

It is a confirmation that we are different and unique, the life of a man is mysterious so to say, you need to wake up your inner treasure. What will make you great is already planted inside you.

I wish you the best.

Christianity EtcRe: Lifestyle Evangelism: Greatest Challenge Of Modern Day Christians by God2man(op): 3:59pm On Nov 10, 2012
As i have earlier stated that lifestyle can simply be defined as a way of living. What i am trying to establish here is that the lifestyle of a christian is suppose to have a great influence on his immediate environment. Let others see Jesus in u
The lifestyle Evangelism can only be demonstrated if we have the fruit of the spirit. Galatians 5: 22-23.Let's start with love, the best definition of love is in
1 Corinthians 13:1-13, verses 4-7" Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up,
Does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;
Does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;
Bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."

Divine love, agape, it never fails, it is more powerful than the gift of the spirit, it has an eternal reward, the last verse, "And now abide faith, hope, love, these three: but the greatest of these is LOVE."
Let's examine different ways we can define love according to the above Bible verses, 1 corinthian 13:4, love does not parade itself, not puffed up.
Humilty, the opposite of pride, not being proud, humble, ordinary, not believing that you are important. A case of Jesus washing the feet of his disciples. What a humility! How many christians can do this. I read a book about a young Nun who was desribed as having gifts of prophecy, her great exploit had reached the pope. A man called Philip Neri volunteered to find out the truth about this Nun after consulting the Pope. Philip Neri, a man of rare discernment, went through the mud and mire on his mule to the distant convent. He told the woman in charge of the convent the wishes of His Holiness, to see the Nun. Without delay, the Nun came to see Philip Neri, Philip Neri streched out his leg with mud and desired that the Nun should draw off his boots.
The young Nun was angry and refused the simple act of humilty.
Philip ran out, mounted his mule and returned to the Pope. Philip told the Pope: here is no miracle for there is no humilty.

Another one is,
Politeness, 1 corinthian 13:5, does not behave himself unseemly, behaving in a way that is socially correct and shows awareness of and caring for other people's feelings: never rude , being polite with everyone the rich, the poor, the beggar, the small and the great.

Still on verse 5,Does not seek its own, here, i am talking about Unselfishness, not interested in your own personal advantage, not thinking of yourself alone, think of others, seek only the good of others.
My wife did something that suprised me, i have to be honest here, i am really suprised, she is great woman though, but this one is out of this world. We were coming from a christian outing, i was in the vehicle while she was the one driving, it happened that we came along a woman living in our neighbourhood with 3 or 4 bags of heavy loads, actualy two of those bags were very heavy, she said, let's help this woman, i was like saying no, my second thought says yes, so, we parked and alighted to carry the load into the car. The woman was shocked. It was like a dream to her. We helped her to her house then we proceeded to our house. The woman was just thanking us and started to pray for us. The next morning she was at our door, thanking us again for what we have done. Now, tell me, is this not a better way of Evangelism? Your guess is as good as mine.

Let's continue, verse 5 again, not easily provoked, A good temper, an angry man will not be able to gather people, even if he does, they will scatter at the end of the day or he will be destroyed. A man should be able to control his spirit and not be easily irritated or resentful.

Verse 6, rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth, how do you feel when others go wrong? Are you happy? Are you only happy when things is moving according to your desire? Then you are still far from what is called good character. When you see people doing the wrong thing, you should find a way of helping them not laughing at them or mocking them. Do not be fast to expose the weakness of others, be considerate, do not be a fault finder, looking for holes to pick, it is an unchristian like, always be eager to believe the best not the worst.

The most popular one is Kindness, that is you are generous, helpful and caring about other people's feeling. A woman came to our house recently, crying and weeping profusely, she wanted to kill herself because of one financial problem, oh! She wept. We were so touched by her predicament. I told my wife, how much do you have? Do you have up to #2,000? She said yes, ok, i will add #3,000, making #5,000. I said, go and give her this money, and that they should not bother to return it. The woman knelt down to thank us.

What i am saying on this thread today is not show how magnanimous we are but to teach that lifestyle Evangelism will go long way to change the world.

Still inconclusive.

God bless you.

Christianity EtcLifestyle Evangelism: Greatest Challenge Of Modern Day Christians by God2man(op): 8:29am On Nov 09, 2012
Lifesyle can simple be defined as a way of living, while Evangelism is an act of spreading the gospel of our Lord Jesus christ.
Acts 11:26 " And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called CHRISTIANS FIRST in Antioch."
This is a great challenge to the present day believer, the problem of Nigeria today persist because chistians refused to do the right thing. Now, who is a christian? The simplest defnition is christ-like. That's all. So, christians are expected to influence the people around them by displaying the character of the fruit of the spirit, Galatians 5:22-23" But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temprance: against such there is no law."

Let's take a good example from the Bible, Acts 9:36-39" Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.
And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber. Verse 39, Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber; and all the widows stood by him weeping, and sewing the coats and garments which dorcas made, while she was with them."

What will people say about you after you have departed from this world?

The message is still inconclusive. I will continue later.

God bless you.

Christianity EtcRe: Benny Hinn & Pat Robertson, The False Prophets Of The U.S 2012 Election by God2man(m): 7:18am On Nov 09, 2012
Let's take it easy on these men of God because we were not there when God called them. They make mistakes. Yes, of course, you don't expect them to be 100 percent perfect, if you do, then you will be making serious mistakes. The Bible says: looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. Most importantly, men of God need our prayers more than labelling them a false prophet which they are not.

Unfulfilled prophecies abound in the Bible, God told hezekiah that he will die, but hezekiah prayed and wept before the Lord for a reversal and the same God gave him 15 more years. The truth is the manifestation of divine prophecies are not automatic, atimes, it takes time, at other time, the reverse may be the case. They are all subject to the various factors. In my own opinion, i mean the US election, there was a possibilty for Romney to emerge as the winner of the election. Unfortunately, something mysterious happened along the line that changed the movement, probably due to his own fault or due to the disruption caused by the hurricane sandy that created an obstacle for his last campaign to hold. Only God can unravel the mysteries.

Those men of God could be right, let's be objective in whatever we are saying. Let's take it easy.

Calling them a false prophet is too degrading. What do we gain? Nothing. Does it edify anybody? No. Then whyy are we criticizing them. I read two different books by two different men of God, one gave a not too good historical background of a man of God, the other one countered the statement. Now, is it good for me to come to the internet and start calling them liars? No! If i do that, it shows that i am not mature, i consider their imperfection as normal thing to be expected from a man made with clay.

Whenever we are criticizing men of God on this forum, let's try to examine ourselves first before criticizing them. As i always say on this forum, what goes round comes around.

God bless you all.

RomanceRe: Ten Ways To Marry The Wrong Person by God2man(m): 5:35pm On Nov 06, 2012
warripekin: With the divorce rate over 50%, too many are apparently making a serious mistake in deciding whom to spend the rest of their life with. To avoid becoming a "statistic," try to internalize 10 insights.

1. You pick the wrong person because you expect him/her to change after you're married. The classic mistake! NEVER MARRY POTENTIAL!! The Golden Rule is, if you can't be happy with the person the way he or she is now, don't get married. As a colleague of mine so wisely put it, "You actually can expect people to change after their married...for the worst!" So when it comes to the other person's spirituality, character, personal hygiene, communication skills, and personal habits, make sure you can live with these as they are now.

2. You pick the wrong person because you focus more on chemistry than on character. Chemistry ignites the fire, but good character keeps it burning. Beware of the "I'm in love" syndrome. "I'm in love" often means, "I'm in lust." Attraction is there, but have you carefully checked out this person's character? Here are four characteristics to definitely check for:
Humility: Does this person believe that "doing the right thing" is more important than personal comfort?
Kindness: Does this person enjoy giving pleasure to other people? How does s/he treat people s/he doesn't have to be nice to? Does s/he do volunteer work? Give to charity?
Responsibility: Can I depend on this person to do what s/he says s/he's going to do?
Happiness: Does this person like her/himself? Does s/he enjoy life? Is s/he emotionally stable? Ask yourself: Do I want to be more like this person? Do I want to have a child with this person? Would I like my child to turn out like him or her?

3. You choose the wrong person because you do not share a common life goal and priorities. There are three basic ways we connect with another person: a) Chemistry and compatibility, b) share common interests, c) share common life goal. Make sure you share a deeper level of connection that sharing life goals provide. After marriage, the two of you will either grow together or grow apart. To avoid growing apart, you must figure out what you're living for while you are single-and then find someone who has come to the same conclusion as you. This is the true definition of a soul mate. A soul mate is a goal mate....two people who ultimately share the same understanding of life's purpose and therefore share the same priorities, values and goals.

4. You pick the wrong person because you do not have deeper emotional connection. To evaluate whether you have a deeper emotional connection or not, ask: "Do I respect and admire this person?" This does not mean, "Am I impressed by this person?" We are impressed by a Mercedes. We do not respect someone because they own a Mercedes. Yes, you should be impressed by qualities of creativity, loyalty, determination, etc but do you actually respect and admire this person who possesses these qualities? Also ask: "Do I trust this person?" This also means, "Is he/she emotionally stable? Do I feel I can rely on him/her?

5. You pick the wrong person because you choose someone with whom you don't feel emotionally safe. Ask yourself the following questions: Do I feel calm, peaceful and relaxed with this person? Can I fully be myself and express myself with this person? Does this person make me feel good about myself? Do you have a really close friend who does make you feel this way? Make sure the person you marry makes you feel the same way! Are you afraid of this person in any way? You should not feel you need to monitor what you say because you are afraid of how the other person will view it. If you're afraid to express your feelings and opinions openly, there's a problem with the relationship. Another aspect of feeling safe is that you don't feel the other person is trying to control you. Controlling behaviors are a sign of an abusive person. Be on the look out for someone who is always trying to change you. There is a big difference between "controlling" and "making suggestions." A suggestion is made for your benefit; a control statement is made for their benefit.

6. You pick the wrong person because you don't put everything on the table. Anything that bothers you about the relationship must be brought up for discussion. Bringing up the uncomfortable stuff is the only way to evaluate how well the two of you communicate, negotiate, and work together. Over the course of a lifetime, difficulties will inevitably arise. You need to know now, before making a commitment: Can you resolve your differences and find compromises that work for both of you? Never be afraid to let the person know what bothers you. This is also a way for you to test how vulnerable you can be with this person. If you can't be vulnerable, you can't be intimate. The two go hand in hand.

7. You pick the wrong person because you use the relationship to escape from personal problems and unhappiness. If you are unhappy and single, you'll probably be unhappy and married, too. Marriage does not fix personal, psychological and emotional problems. If anything, marriage will exacerbate them. If you are not happy with yourself and your life, take responsibility to fix it now while you are single. You'll feel better and your future spouse will thank you.

8. You choose the wrong person because you get involved sexually too quickly. This can be a big problem because it often precludes a fully honest exploration of important issues. Sexual involvement tends to cloud one's mind. And a clouded mind is not inclined to make good decisions. It is not necessary to "test drive" in order to find out if a couple are sexually compatible. If you do your homework and make sure you are intellectually and emotionally compatible, you don't have to worry about sexual compatibility. Of all the studies on divorce, sexual incompatibility is never cited as a main reason why people divorce.

9. You pick the wrong person because the man doesn't understand what a woman needs most. Men and women have unique emotional needs and more often than not, it is the man who just doesn't get it. Tradition places the onus on the man to understand the emotional needs of the woman and to satisfy them. The unique need of a woman is to be loved, to feel that she is the most important person in her husband's life. The husband needs to give her consistent, quality attention. This is most apparent in the approach to sexual intimacy. Tradition obligates the husband to meet the sexual needs of his wife. Sexual intimacy is always on the woman's terms. Men are goal oriented especially when it comes to this area. As a wise woman once pointed out, "Men have two speeds: on and off." Women are experience oriented. When a man is able to switch gears and become more experience-oriented, he will discover what makes his wife very happy. When the man forgets about his own needs and focuses on giving his wife pleasure, amazing things will happen.

10. You pick the wrong person because he/she is involved in a triangle. To be "triangulated" means a person is emotionally dependent on someone or something else while trying to develop another relationship. A person who hasn't separated from his or her parents is classic example of triangulation. People can also be triangulated with things as well, such as work, drugs, Internet, hobbies, sports or money. Be careful that you and your partner are free of triangles. The person caught in a triangle cannot be fully emotionally available to you. You'll not be their number one priority. And that's not basis for a marriage.

FamilyRe: Ways To Teach Kids To Believe In Themselves by God2man(m): 7:24pm On Nov 05, 2012
simdam500: Kids are as soft and fragile as flowers. Only with proper care and love, they can blossom into confident human beings. It’s very important to help your kids to believe in themselves so as to lay foundation of a successful and happy life for them.

Here are 7 simple ways to do it:

1. Believe in them:
Your kids will believe in themselves if you first believe in them. For young kids, parents are the role models. They do as the adults do. If you believe in them, they’ll believe in themselves. So set a good example!

2. Encourage them always:
Let them try their weird ideas, let them explore their world. Encourage them to believe in their own ideas and to try things. Do not discourage their creativity and ideas even if you feel they are ‘unimportant’, ‘insignificant’ or ‘stupid’. Encourage, encourage, encourage… always!

3. Take out time for them:
The best gift that you can give your children is your time. If you take out time for them, they’ll feel they are important. When they realize their self-importance, they’ll believe in their self-worth.

4. Don’t label them:
Don’t label them with tags like ‘stupid’, ‘worthless’, ‘idiot’ and the likes. Kids take these things to heart. If you call your kid stupid 5 times, he’ll start believing himself to be stupid. So choose your words carefully, they can make or mar your child’s personality.

5. Appreciate generously:
If their efforts bear fruits, if they achieve even a little bit of success – just praise them. Be very generous with your appreciation. Even if the outcome is not successful by your standards, praise the fact that they put in efforts to do the work. Let them know that it mattered to you.

6. Make them dream:
There’s this famous quotation by a wise person, “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams”. Give your child a dream and then make him believe that you think that he can achieve it. Tell it to him again and again. Before you know it, your child will believe in his potential to achieve that dream!

7. Give your unconditional love and support:
Self-belief can come when your child has you to fall back upon. Let him know that he has your unconditional love and support, always. No matter what happens, you’ll always believe in him. No matter how many times he fails, you’ll always believe in him to succeed at the end!
Words can work wonders, especially in case of kids. Always use loving and encouraging words to make your child believe in himself!

Good and intelligent a man he may be, he does not seem to understand that running a company and running a country are two ENTIRELY different things! Plus the guy shoots before he aims. I have lost count how many times he's goofed. Also, why on earth would anyone want to vote for the party that put America in the mess it is in, in the first place?
FYI, for those who say they would vote for Romney because of religion and Obama being linked to Illuminati and such, Romney is NOT a Christian. He practices Mormonism and there are many beliefs they have that are not scriptural(I have researched this). He may be the less of two evils but I really don't believe he is the answer to America's problem. In fact neither candidates are the answer to America's problem.
America is under divine judgement and until they repent, they will NEVER return to their glory days! This was a country sold out to God by their fore-fathers...then they decide to kick God out in 1962 with their so-called "Separation of church and state" plus allowing even encouraging same sex marriage. They fail to realise that their greatness is attributed to their covenant with God...they have become too self-sufficient, taking liberty for licence.
They can continue to deceive themselves, I say it again, NO REPENTANCE, NO RESTORATION! period!

debrief08: You may also need to stop hanging out with shallow flashy girls who dont have the decency and brain to think that they also need to work and pay bills, even as a student do business and get some cash, girls and women who do not eat or want to buy what they cannot afford.
When I was younger If i was out on a date I always went with my own money and will never order more than what I can eat.
If you see a simple girl will you date her? Most men will see a Brazilian hair, vera wang (student oh) gucci clutching babe, with eye lashes and fake everything date her as opposed to one who applies basic make up and simply dressed. If you like flashy then be prepared for the baggage that comes with it, It is like going to a shop seeing a porshe and an economy Honda and buying the porshe then coming to complain of maintenance.
No one should have to dash out money, Bankers dont earn much especially now. No one should host a parasite

a. it will have a red tag at the bottom saying its been refurbished.
b. at the bottom of the laptop there is usually a place they write 'void if torn'. if the label is torn, your laptop mayb refurbished.
c. if you receive a laptop in a sealed box and the laptop has small scratches and sign of wear on the keyboard, top bezel of the screen, nd loose usb ports (loose usb ports can also b a factory default).
Christianity EtcRe: Is It Biblical To Pray For A Life Partner? by God2man(m): 1:15pm On Nov 03, 2012
CrazyMan: Choosing a marriage partner is a very serious matter, infact, its regarded as the most serious decision you will ever make in your life since your partner can cause you either to be successful or to fail miserably, in the tests of this life and, consequently, in the Here- after.

If you're a practicing christian, then I would recommend prayer...cos such decision needs to be made with utmost care and caution, its not something you rush into...you must be guided by God and not by your mind.

You should also note that so many marriages have broken up today why.....because the partners are in such haste that they don't take time to make such vital checks and rush into things. Don't add yourself to the list of marriage casualties because you couldn't take time or were too desperate for marriage to find out about or get to know the person with whom you plan to spend the rest of your life.

Marriage is not just for today or tomorrow but for life, and for the primary purpose of building a family.

So seeking God's face is something you shouldn't neglect as a christian.
Christianity EtcRe: Enemies Of Oyedepo; READ THIS by God2man(m): 1:06pm On Nov 03, 2012
teeo: Funny enough, then ‘Brother David’ (born 27th September, 1954) had simply aspired to use
whatever wealth he acquired to spread the good
news of the gospel as a big-time Christian
philanthropist, not a pastor! This ambition did not
however stop him from joyfully seeking every
opportunity to engage in evangelism. There was a time in 1973, while still a polytechnic student, he
was asked by a visiting uncle – who also happened
to be the Area Education Officer – to take up a
vacation job as a relief teacher. The assignment was
billed to last only 70 days. When he arrived in the
village, he was shocked to find that no church organization had established a presence there –
not even the ubiquitous Catholic Church! He
immediately set about the task of evangelizing the
inhabitants with plenty of eagerness and energy. Within only 40 days of arriving in Dumagi Village in
Shonga LGA of Kwara State, he had single-handedly
erected a church building on a parcel of land
procured from the Village Head! And on the 72nd
day, which was his last Sunday in the village, a
farewell ceremony was organized by church members during which one of the elders presented
him with a parting gift of a bush lamp (lantern)
while declaring, “Silver and gold we have not; but
we give you this lamp. Let this light you brought to
our village shine round the world.” The gift and the
address ultimately turned out to be very prophetic indeed! As an apostle, prophet, pastor, thinker,
educationist, administrator, philanthropist and
prolific author, he has become a household name
around the world. The Winners Chapel has become
a global phenomenon with over 5,000 vibrant
churches in over 300 cities in all states of Nigeria and about 600 churches planted in over 63 cities in
32 African nations, Dubai, the United Kingdom and
the United States of America. The ministry has also
made very significant impact in the educational
sector with the establishment of about 100
kindergarten/primary schools and over 20 secondary schools in Nigeria and other African
countries, as well as two world-class universities at
Ota (Covenant University) and Omu Aran, Kwara
State (Landmark University). The first church was planted on 11th December,
1983 – the Living Faith Church, Kaduna. On 19th
July, 1989, he received another directive from the
Holy Spirit: “Arise, get down to Lagos and raise me a
people.” It is worth noting that he promptly left a
3,000-member church in Kaduna to come to Lagos where just 300 people attended the first church
service on 24th September, 1989 just to obey God!
By 1999, the number of services on a typical
Sunday had grown to five with a total attendance of
50,000, putting the limited facilities at Iyana-Ipaja
under severe pressure. On 18th September, 1999, the historic 50,000-seater Faith Tabernacle was
dedicated. The edifice is not only an architectural
wonder and a fulfillment of prophecy, but it has
also entered the Guinness Book of Records as the
largest single church auditorium in the world! Bishop David Olaniyi Oyedepo has a very strong
compassion for the downtrodden and the rejected.
He wants to see Africa lifted from the nadir of
mismanagement and underdevelopment to
Olympian heights of good governance and all-
round development. His foundation has established the African Leadership Development Center, based
in Covenant University, as the springboard for
achieving the emancipation of the continent. But
long before this, precisely on 15th January, 1995,
the birthing of the Africa Gospel Invasion Project
(AGIP), under the auspices of the World Mission Agency (WMA), saw the sending forth of the first set
of missionaries to Congo Kinshasa, Ethiopia, Ghana,
Kenya, Liberia and Sierra Leone – it was the
beginning of another epoch. Like every maker of history, Bishop Oyedepo has
been subjected to a barrage of vitriolic criticisms but
his attitude has always been to remain focused on
the assignment God has entrusted to him, while
those who believe they have been called to a
ministry of criticism should equally continue with their assignment, as at the end of the day the
results would separate the wheat from the chaff. No
doubt, facts are sacred and comments free. Because
he is someone who shies away from publicity, very
few people know that he spends billions of naira
annually on philanthropic activities. There are those who accuse him of commercializing
university education. It must be stated that given
the world-class standards each of the church-
owned universities is committed to, the fees would
have been much more higher if not that they are
substantially subsidized by the ministry. Those who have children in foreign universities – including
those in neighboring Ghana – should compare the
naira equivalent of what they pay with the fees’
regime at Covenant and Landmark. Besides, no
student with excellent academic records has ever
dropped out of school on account of inability to pay the requisite fees. Then there are those who say that he emphasizes
prosperity in his messages at the expense of
holiness, and that his ownership of a private jet is
evidence of an opulent worldly lifestyle. In the first
place, men and women of God have different
callings and visions. The bible exhorts each person to abide by his own calling. Besides, Bishop
Oyedepo’s commission comprises three main
mandates: ‘The Word of Faith’ (of which
consecration or holiness is a key pillar),’ The Word
of Prosperity’ and ‘The Word of Signs and Wonders.’
It is simply ignorance that made the blind man touching the tail of the elephant to say that the
animal is slender and long like a serpent! And with
the spread of his ministry all over the globe and his
numerous local and foreign engagements, it is far
cheaper and hassle-free for him to have ample
freedom of movement and scheduling. On 7th September, 2012, Bishop Oyedepo formally
launched the operating manual of the ministry
before a worldwide satellite audience. Known as The Mandate, the 504-page timeless publication not only chronicles the history of the church, but
even much more importantly, it also sets out the
doctrines and structure for the organization for the
next 50 years – it is a must-read for any person
with anything to do with charismatic
Pentecostalism.

You know that all these church doctrines have been in existence before you were born. It will be hard to kick against the wall. Very hard. In my own opinion, it will NEVER work.

I do not know how you will achieve your aim with an estimated 5000 people on nairaland per hour, (not sure though). Many christians are not even aware of what you are doing on nairaland.

However, your presence on nairaland is a test. Some will believe your doctrine, some will be undecided, some will hate your sermons with perfect hatred.

Nairalander christians are advised in their own interest to read their Bible, prayerfully and ask for the leading of the Holyspirit on any message posted by any nairalander.

Tony Spike: LINCOLN

Lincoln is the autobiographical movie of the famous American president, Abraham Lincoln directed by Stephen Spielberg. The movie promises to explore the life and times of the great man and will be released on November 16th. It is gonna be the bomb!!!

According to Spielberg, Doris Kearns Goodwin's entire book about Lincoln's presidency is "much too big" for a film, and said that the film will focus on the last few months of Lincoln's life, the ending of slavery and the Union victory in the Civil War. Spielberg said that "what permanently ended slavery was the very close vote in the House of Representatives over the Thirteenth Amendment – that story I'm excited to tell." Spielberg plans to show "Lincoln at work, not just Lincoln standing around posing for the history books...arguably the greatest working President in American history doing some of the greatest work for the world. - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lincoln_%282012_film%29

Christianity EtcRe: What Qualifies One To Be A Pastor? by God2man(m): 5:38pm On Oct 30, 2012
Joagbaje: every christian is qualified to preach Gods word. it doesnt have to be at the pupilt . there is a diffedence between ministring to the world ( siners) and ministring to the body of christ. we can all edify one.another and exhort one another' you musnt be a pastor to do that.

Preaching Gods word.and pastorate. are two diffrerent things. Leadership and preaching are two different things. to teach Gods word . you must have a deep hunger for knowledge and study. but pastoring is a responsibility and a calling. it can be by delegation too to a great extent. so we have two kinds of pastors. some are called and chosen by christ and some are given such responsibility . they dont necessarily have to recieve a special call by vision or voice.

God doesnt need human skill to use you in ministry. paul wasnt an eloquent speaker. infact he was a bad communicator. but its not a bad idea if a minister takes some lesson to polish himself anyway.

There is need for ministerial training but thus training is not like lecture. its a character training. it comes by service. when you serve an older minister, youre being trained. your attitude and.character are being dealt wirh. the preaching at the pulpit is the smallest part of.ministry. anybody can preach. the major training of a minister is. attitude ,character and in the holyghost. and also your oversight , how to have genuine care for people. ministry is responsibility. washing other peoples mess, so one shoukdnt be driven by the desire to mount.pulpit but desire to serve .

A man must have served in some lower capacity responsibility in a church and prove his faithfulness before he ascend to higher respinsibility
I think this should be enough.

Oga joagbaje, well done sir, God bless you.

EducationRe: Nigerian Student Breaks World Record, Scores 4.0 / 4.0 In Turkish University by God2man(m): 9:27pm On Oct 26, 2012
OYINBOGOJU: A genius could be referred to as an exceptional child who is academically sound. But, how would you describe an individual who never misses a point in his examinations from first year in the university to the final year? If there is any adjective to qualify such a person, that word could best describe Tunji Olu-Taiwo, an Engineering student of Eastern Mediterranean University in the Turkish Republic of North Cyprus who obtained 4.0 CGPA out of 4.0 CGPA, the first ever in the department.

Encomiums have continued to be showered on Tunji Olu-Taiwo from various quarters, because his impressive performance has placed him in the spotlight.

Over the years, Nigeria's human resources have ranked among the best in the world partly due to the profound efforts of critical-minded parents that stimulate the astuteness that hides within every student, begging for whom to push the trigger.

Tunji Olu-Taiwo, who hails from Ifako-Ijaye Local Government Area of Lagos State, emerged the best graduating student from the Faculty of Engineering, obtaining a status of High Honours (first class).

Tunji is the first African to have bagged such a status in the Department of Engineering, obtaining a degree in Engineering on a Grade Point Average of 4.00 out of 4.00 (straight A's).

Amid great honour and eulogy sang by the students and academic, expressing marvel at the development, Vanguard met with Tunji in an online chat to speak more on his success.

Mark Elliot Zuckerberg as Role Model

"I am looking up to Mark Zuckerberg, he is a genius I love to emulate," Tunji said. Mark Elliot Zuckerberg (born May 14, 1984) is an American computer programmer and Internet entrepreneur. He is best known as one of the five co-founders of the social networking site, Facebook. Zuckerberg is the chairman and chief executive of Facebook. Inc.

Further Study

"I plan to further by specializing in the field of software engineering. “Software Engineering is a course I have cherished right from time. I know I owe the society more with this, that is the reason that I wish to go further in that regard for this dream to be fulfilled.”

Hopes and challenges in Nigeria

Tunji expressed hope in Nigeria when he said; "there is no place like home," adding; "I like the fact that no matter the difficult situations Nigerians find themselves in, they still try to be happy."

Advice for the Government

Poverty, I believe is the greatest distraction, frustrating process of seeking admission into universities and lack of steady electricity are some dire challenges the people, especially students, usually grapple with, in his honest opinion. Tunji advised the government thus:

“Admissions should be done on a per semester basis. I will advise that the Federal Government should try to provide constant electricity. This, to me, will automatically eradicate about 50 per cent of Nigeria's problems. Also, a simple advice for all students is that the road to success is not on a straight path. Patience is a very important virtue that should be put to good use.”

His Background

“My father, Dr. Mike Olufemi Taiwo is a dental surgeon and a retired army officer. He is from Lagos State. My mother, Mrs. Ajoke Lillian Olu-Taiwo is a business consultant. She hails from Kogi State.

My parents modelled my life the way it is today. They took time to instil discipline in me. I was born and raised in the great city of Kano. I grew up in a large Catholic family, with three brothers and four sisters. I started reading at a very young age. My parents made sure I did my assignments and that zeal still remains in me up to this moment.”

Tunji's father who spoke with Vanguard about Tunji's up- bringing said; "I brought up all my children in Kano. I noticed that many parents allow their children freedom to wander about after school which I detested so I made it mandatory for my children to remain home-bound. I was part of their lives. I made sure their home works were done and their books studied on daily basis. I was their mentor and at the same time, their friend.

“Nevertheless, because all work without play makes Jack a dull boy, so I provided indoor games for my children. When they were big enough to play table tennis, I played the game with them. It was fun.

“I also taught them chess and was always beating them, but when Tunji came from Cyprus, he started beating me hands down and I began to marvel. I was not too surprised about the result he made," said Dr Olu Taiwo.

Christianity EtcRe: Evidence To Show That Satan Exist. by God2man(m): 11:02am On Oct 26, 2012
Image123: Cow dung contains nutrients that are good for you, don't be such a sissy. You are one big proof to the existence of satan. What do you want, pictures? a youtube video? what? Satan is a spirit and he is your father, justsaying shocked
Okay, let me be a nicer fellow. Satan is a spirit, you can't see him. You can only see the result of him, like you(sorry). Like wind, you can't see, or God, you can't see, or heat. But you can feel the wind, or the heat. You can see the effect of heat on your bombom in hell grin(sorry, so sorry). You can see the wind effects when it blows things. You can even classify wind into different types and sizes. The results of what the devil does is what will also make evidence for his existence. What the Bible say about the devil? not an awful lot. Actually the devil is the devil, also called Satan, Serpent, Dragon in scriptures. He is a spirit being, and generally, spirits are not too freaked/eager about been seen or perceived by us men. Just like you don't have goals of making a mark to the ant race, or impressing your legacy on the cat kingdom. If you would observe, there was little or no talks about satan the devil in the old testament. They hardly knew the guy. They were not busy accusing the adversary like many folks today, you'd not be as surprised as the devil when you hear lies people tell about him today. It's the devil, devil this, devil that. Satan was largely inconspicuous in the old testament. It's Jesus who knows the devil that came and revealed him truly to us, though people went gaga on him ever since. that's why in the OT, people often thought it was some other thing responsible for blame. They blamed God, serpent/snake, people etc. Job thought God was the one that did all those things to him, even though his book mentioned satan most in all of the OT. One can't even find the word 'devil' in all of the OT. The point i'm making is that satan would not come and say "Tadaaaa, here i am". He specialises in deception. He is crafty, v.crafty and would often use his likes. Like in Genesis 3, he came through the snake, subtle. he doesn't come directly. he comes to mislead. His prsence is evident in the multitude of deception in the world today. that's why there are so many religions and so many churches, it's the art of deception. the more, the merrier, the more confused. If you put a 1000naira note among a bunch of envelopes, that would hardly confuse anyone. But put it among a wad of counterfeit 1000naira notes, and you will see real confusion, debate, research and argument. that's what the devil does, he confuses. he presents himself as an angel of light. that's why all religion looks counterfeit. That's why christianity becomes frustrating. i remember Chesterton saying "the problem of christianity is not that it has been tried and found wanting, but that it has been found difficult and left untried".

Mat 13:27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?
Mat 13:28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?
Mat 13:29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.

My advice is don't give up on Christ, be honest, and God will find you. It may look late but He will.
When God builds a path to goodness, devil comes and builds seven more similar looking paths to cause confusion. He doesn't come straight with a tail and horns, so don't expect to follow him on twitter directly. he can enter serpents like in Genesis, even enter a good disciple like he did with Peter and Judas if one permits him.
Mat 16:23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offense unto me: for thou savorest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.

Joh 13:26 Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the sop, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.
Joh 13:27 And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly
.
He enters many men today, and even lives in some, not just enter.

Another thing about Satan is wisdom. he is intelligent to the I. He is more intelligent than man, any man. you can't outwit him. Many folks think intelligence, smartness, education will deliver them from satan. You will meet him there, literally. he outsmarted Adam and Eve, very smart people. he is wiser than Daniel, a very wise Spirit filled man, and he's got a lot of experience on his side. he is a tirelessly gifted evil spirit. You stand no chance as it were except you are on the lord's side. he will play you and deceive you until you begin to deceive yourself.
2Ti 3:13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
Satan is the prince/ruler of this world, and everything being churned out is under him control-wise. he controls the number(no pun intended), the technology, the powers. this is evident in the expansion of evil and satanic inspired inventions. He'll gladly give you a smarter world because he is so smart, but God promises a better world. We have so many smartphones and smart people around, but the world is not a better place. We are making advances in telecommunications but i don't think we've ever been so confused as a race. We do not understand one another even when we speak the same language and have all the translations. There is still so much dying, accidents, wars and threat of wars despite the attempts of the smart ones to make peace. These is the devil's playground. Eze 28:3 Behold, thou art wiser than Daniel; there is no secret that they can hide from thee
Jam 3:15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
:

The devil is evidenced in music and fashion, i don't think you'll see this anyway.
Eze 28:12 Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.
Eze 28:13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.
Music is in his blood literally. he can give you good good music. Any sober person would see the devil in music. He's in charge. he dictates the tune, the lyrics, the swagger, the trend. He will take you to heaven, hell, pluto and back.

The devil is the thief. The usual theif operates in the dark, or with masks.
Joh 10:10a The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.

The stealing, the killing, the destruction. its all over the world and the news. These are the effects and the evidences of the devil. But Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil.

1Jo 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
It is total surrender to Jesus can save you and give you victory over satan.
