Olusola Oladimeji, the driver of the Toyota Sienna that fell off the Third Mainland Bridge into the lagoon on Saturday, has described his escape as a miracle.
The father of three said contrary to reports by traffic and emergency officials, he was not on high speed when the incident occurred.
Oladimeji, who is a minister of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Church, said he was on his way home from work.
He said, “I work on the island and I left home for a meeting in the early hours of Saturday. After the monthly environmental sanitation, I started driving back home.
“I was driving at the speed of 60km/hr and was on the fast lane because the road was free. At Ebute Meta bypass, I saw two vehicles that had been involved in an accident but I kept on driving. Suddenly, everything went blank, I couldn’t see anything again, and I just found myself in the water.”
Oladimeji said he did not lose consciousness in the water and as such, was able to loosen the seat belt.
He said in the water, he saw a ray of light and swam towards it.
He said, “I was not on high speed. When the car hit the railing of the bridge, the airbag was not released.
“After falling into the water, I unfastened the seat belt and noticed that one of the doors of my car had broken off, so I swam out of the vehicle to the surface of the water even though I don’t know how to swim.
“It was while I was waving my hand that fishermen saw me and quickly came to my aid. They took me away from the scene and took me to a clinic located on the water where they administered the first aid.”
PUNCH Metro learnt that Oladimeji was later taken to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital where an X-ray scan was conducted on him.
“The doctors said that my leg was not fractured. They, however, cast my leg with Plaster of Paris because I had a sprain,” he said.
Oladimeji said contrary to what is written on his medical report, he is 43 years old not 53.
Our correspondent, who visited the Abule Egba home of the victim, observed members of his church came in droves to felicitate with him.
A pastor at MFM, Berkeley Parish, Mrs. Praise Onanuga, said the incident was an indication of the existence of God.
She said the victim had just bought the car eight days before the accident.
She said, “Brother Oladimeji is the leader of prophetic group and a house fellowship coordinator. He was supposed to have been at a vigil with us the night before but he begged to be excused because of the meeting he was to have on Saturday.
“He bought the car just eight days before the accident and we were supposed to do the dedication today (Sunday) but we thank God that we were not put to shame.
“We will hold a thanksgiving for him soon because this is a miracle.” unbelievable! That is the power of psalm 91, we read every PMCH. God2man. |

Countries like Malaysia, Indonesia, India, South Korea, and China are closing the gap between third world countries and industrialized nations. They are now producers and exporters of different goods and are enjoying economic prosperity. In the 70s Malaysia came to our nation to collect oil palm seedlings today they are the largest producers and exporters of oil palm seedlings in the world. Nigeria has been having economic crisis since the 1980s.All our viable economic products have gone down the drain especially from the agricultural sector, cocoa, oil palm, groundnut, cashew, millet, sorghum, maize, cassava. Items we used to export in large quantities and generate revenue for the country have been neglected since the discovery of the black gold” Crude oil”. Nigeria has also lost so much income and revenue in the petroleum sector through corrupt practices. Nigerian leaders, despite having petroleum resources at their disposal, have added little value to the life of its citizenry. From the 70s till date the government had introduced different policies and programmes such as Green revolution, Operation feed the nation, National Youth Service Scheme, Mamser, Better life for rural women and recently Monetisation Policy, Minimum Wage Policy, Cashless Policy, Deregulation of the petroleum sector.
Nigerian government, both civilian and military have failed the nation and drawn the nation backwards from attaining economic prosperity like other countries in its category in the 60s and 70s.Nigeria had some good policies but many of them were not well implemented. It is also a known fact that some policies were not beneficial to the masses. Nigerian leaders have failed its citizenry from the academia, traditional, judicial, political and religious leadership. They have failed to provide the right direction and purposeful leadership. Agitations for a sovereign national conference, Resource control and state police are the song on the lips of everyone young and old. What can be achieved from all these agitations? Nothing positive will emanate from it because it is this same leaders that will represent us in such conferences. Nigeria is in deep crisis at the moment, politically, economically, socially, security wise and developmentally. Ronald .W .Reagan, the 44th president of the United States of America, said in his inaugural address that “Government is not the solution to our problem; Government is the problem”. If Government is the main problem in Nigeria what then is the solution to the crisis of the nation? What is the spiritual dimension to these problems? There is a missing spiritual link. We must go back to our source which is God Almighty. Nigeria as a nation needs to commune with God to seek his guidance in piloting our affairs. In the bible Israel as a nation faced different crisis and they never got a solution until they turned to God. Citing different examples from the Bible in Exodus chapters 15, 16, 17 there was no food to eat and no water to drink for millions of Israelites in the desert .Moses the leader turned to God when the people complained bitterly and God provided manna, meat (quail) and water for the nation. In the book of Genesis 41 vs.25-57 in the land of Egypt Joseph served as the spiritual link between the nation and God. They were able to deal effectively with the crisis which faced them and they provide relief for other nations that came to seek help from them. The spiritual council must comprise of twenty-four members only, twelve each from the Islamic and Christian faith. These members must not be prominent religious leaders and must only be given sitting allowances. Any policy or programme of the government should be forwarded to the council who will seek the guidance of God on such a policy before it would be implemented. It is only then that the aims and objectives of the millennium development goals can be realized and the Nigerian nation can achieve development in all forms. The challenges of poverty, hunger, corruption, insecurity, unemployment, low agricultural productivity and inadequate power generation will be surmounted. I am positive if the spiritual council is implemented according to the dictates of God these challenges will be minimized within a year. ok |

I believe Jesus had to use Parables to drive in his point to his audience so that they will understand the context and truth he is trying to pass across. Secondly He understands by the wisdom of God that some of the words He speaks are beyond what the simple man can understand and had not seen before. Taking a look at all this parables he uses those normal and things they know and that happens every day in their society to explain what they don't know and cannot see, so making it difficult for them to doubt but can only believe or reject those messages.
If His Parables were lies and cannot be true or cannot happen, there is no reason for him to tell them because He will understand they will know He is not telling the truth and will get them confused the more. So all the Parables told by Christ might had happened or can happen or is happening at that present time.
Dont let us forget there are two wisdoms highlighted in the scriptures; The wisdom of God and the wisdom of this world.
And the two can not be same. The formal (wisdom of God) can explain the later but the wisdom of this world can never comprehend the Wisdom of God.
The wisdom of God is based on Faith,the Spirit of truth and reality, while the Wisdom of this world is based on mere reasoning and logic and only limited to this world.

Discuss With Him: In a case where your duties as a wife are being encroached by an overbearing mother-in-law who will dictate what he eats or what he wears, register your displeasure with him (but relate well with her). Place Yourself In Her Shoes: Know that it hurts her and is a patch of mixed feelings. Is there anything evil or indecent about you that is always pissing off your mother-in-law? Chill: Most of the time, mothers-in-law do not have any evil behind even the most mischievous of their actions. They are only a bit insecure thinking that no person is good enough for their child, or a woman has come to spoil the existing mother-son relationship. My friend, discover who you are, self discovery is vital in the process of restoration.
When you have the knowledge of your mission on earth, it will be difficult to go back. You have been looking at the hand of God for some time, why don't you try and look at his face, i mean, try to find out the purpose of God for your life. It is very important.
Another thing is to try and find out about your family history, what happened to your dad, granfather, and even your mum. Your family history can give you a clue to the solution to your problem.
Moreover, a sinner in the right place and a righteous man in the wrong place are all birds of the same feather.
Change your church.
You need to be at the right place and pray the right prayer to move ahead.
Spiritual purging and foundational deliverance prayers are needed in the process of deliverance and it takes time.
God will minister to you better than this.

Apart from the fact that your vision will keep you going in the period of adversity, it will also give you hope that things will change for the best. Psalm 126:5-6 " They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.
He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him."
You should not be myopic or shortsighted whenever you are told to give to the work of God, the seed may take years to bear fruits, do not despair, keep sowing the precious seeds into the fertile ground of the vineyard of the Lord. Keep confessing that it is well, when things are rough, and surely, the harvest will come. One day, people will gather together to celebrate you.
The vision has to do with God not for selfish reasons but to glorify the name of the Lord, if you have a vision that you are the one sponsoring the work of Evangelsim in your local church, you should not use the money to oppress people or for personal enjoyment when the work of God is suffering. No. You must stand up to help your church to buy Evangelsim equipments, big speakers, wireless microphone, projector, amplifier , organ, and even Evangelsim Bus. I believe this is what you should do when your vision is due.
As a christian student, have a great desire that you want come out as a first class graduate, the best Doctor that will ever gradute from your university, if you are in the secondary school, be determine that you are coming out with As in all your subject, when you have such a vision or dream, you will live a selective life, you will be serious, you will read while others are sleeping, you will focus your energy on what you really want, this way you become a better person.
Likewise, you can have a vision that you want to become the best Pastor in your local church, set a goal for yourself, set up a commitee, involve yourself in prayer, love your members, care for them. Intercede for them. When you have great interest for your members , they will be interested in whatever you are doing. Call for prayer meetings, they will attend. Call for any special program, they will rush to the program because you are concerned about their wellbeing.
An Evangelist must have a vision of bringing many souls to the kingdom. Set a target of 1,000 souls per year and pray to God to establish them. Be like John knox of scotland that prayed give me scotland or i die. Do you have passion for souls? Why don't you read about Paul the Apsotle in Acts 26:19 " Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision"
Again, 1 corinthian 9: 16 " For though I preach the gospel, i have nothing to glory of: for necesity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if i preach not the gospel!"
what vision do you have as an Evangelist? Remember, where there is no vision, the people perish. So, do something to save a soul today.
To actualize your dream, you need to follow God's principles, act on the word of God, not just reading, you enhance them by acting on the word of God, obey these principles, see the future, speak the word, then you will receive the answer in Jesus name. Amen.

Prayer is an expression of the soul trying to contact its maker, its a way of communicating with the spiritual, its a cry for help from above.
There are many instances and inferences in the bible where passionate prayers were demonstrated and which you may call getting physical with prayers:
Jesus was praying in the garden of Gethsemane for the cup to go over him and the bible recorded that his sweat was as thick as blood,such prayers are not ordinary, it must have been physical for him to be sweating like that in an open and cold garden before dawn.
Another example is Elijah, after the bloody power play with the prophets of Baal on mount carmel,
He wanted to pray for rain and the bible recorded that he sat on the ground and put his head between his laps to pray!
I'm sure many on Nairaland seeing such prayers would have called him mad, but Elijah prayed such acrobatic prayers and got results.
No wonder unusual things are no longer working with prayers again, because many new generation christians always attack what they don't understand.

When a man has a clear-sighted vision of his life, then he has a great power. It will be difficult to overcome such a man. The truth is, the man that has the vision of where he is going will be hard to confuse. If a man does not have the blueprint of his life in his hand, another man will come and show him a different vision to lead him astray. If you do not know where you are going in life, you will be confused and swept away by the ocean of life or by every wind of doctrine. It is good to have a vision or dream. When you have a vision inside of you, you will save many lives and you will be a blessing to your generation.

How can i define a vision?
I think Chambers 21st century dictionary will be of help:
VISION; the abilty or faculty of perceiving with the eye; sight.
An image conjured up vividly in the imagination.
The abilty to perceive what is likely, and plan wisely; Foresight( the ability to predict what is going to happen and to use this to prepare for the future).
An image communicated supernaturally, especially by God, an apparition.
Other definitions are:
A vision is an idea or mental image of something. An exprience in which you see things that do not exist physically. The abilty to imagine how a country, society could develop in the future.

The act of power of anticipating that which will or may come to be.
A vivid imaginative conception or anticipation. Vision of wealth and glory.
That's enough. Now, let's check the Bible again. Habakkuk 2:2-3 " And the Lord answered me, and said, write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry."
God knew the importance of a vision, that was why he said "WRITE"
A written vision will help you to focus and stay in your own ministry, you are not called to be everything. You cannot turn to be me, neither can i become you. We are unique. So, a vision needs to be made plain and define. There are many distractions in the ocean of life, you need to define where you heading to, where are you going?
Get a paper and write what you want, your dreams and aspirations. What is your vision for this year? What is your vision for the ministry God has given you? What is your vision for your family? For the singles, what kind of person are you planning to take to the altar? Also, as a leader in your organization? How do you see your company in 10yrs time? It could take you years for your vision to manifest. For example, write, i want to build a world class university in Nigeria.
There is no way your vision will not face challenges.
Frustrations, discouragement, delay and disappointment are always around to charge you to move forward. However, if you can set a goal for yourself, one step at a time, it will assist your vision. Also, positioning yourself prayerfully to hear from God is an added advantage. You must strive, endure hardship, and possess strong faith.
God has deposited great things in our lives, if we fail to provoke these ideas, they will die.
Let's go down to history, as we read an excerpt of a 17 minutes public speech of "I have a dream" by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, delivered on August 28, 1963, in which he called for an end to racism in the USA. The speech, delivered to over 200,000 civil rights supporters from the steps of the Lincoln memorial during the march on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, was a defining moment of the American civil rights movements. I quote
" Let us not wallow in the valley of despair. I say to you today my friends- so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, i still have a dream.

Dreams, visions, prophecies and revelations are all subject to changes. It can be reversed or change, only, if we can pray the right prayer and do the right thing.
Manifestation is not always automatic, except in some cases where God has made up his mind that such a thing will happen.
Prophecies are like watchmen that see the enemy coming and raise an alarm.
A good christian will not criticize or judge the prophecy but will sit down and start working on these prophecies.
Prophecies are meant to edify the church, and not to cause arguement or disunity among brethren.

Wake up in the midst of the night to ask for where God has destined you to worship, it could be redemed,mfm, cac, deeperlife, christembassy, winners. The bottomline, let the Holyspirit decide.
