like i said no comments going forward on this matter. The level of ones knowledge determines a man progress and trajectory.

TheCongo2:
Would you blame them?
When you approach people telling them you know how to cheat the system in a way not to get caught, what would you expect them to believe?
Adding to that Nigeria is a country that is well known for 419. So if you are a Nigerian in Canada, anyone from any community you will approach with suspicious and undisclosed information the way you just did will think of you as a 419er.

On a different note, some people run away from their community because they have built a very bad reputation about themselves within that community. And as a result, they will escape from the Nigerian community and then shift the blame. They will start talking bad about the Nigerian community. Maybe you are the problem and not the Nigerian community you are blaming here.

Just going through the post on Nairaland, can't you see that Nigerians are very intelligent people?
TravelRe: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant by Godbpraised: 9:28pm On Dec 31, 2018
I never mentioned 419, in my conversation. And like i said i remain to keep mum on my views and opinion, in Canada information is vital. The source of your information determines how far and how well you would survive and be successful here. In your statement you were too quick to infer that i was talking about fraud or 419 and i take offense to your assertions. I will not say a word on this matter hence forth. This is one of the reason i do not like interacting with Nigerians here in Canada, they see every move to make progress as trying to be fraudulent or a 419er. i Rest my case.

maternal:
My mom always use to say before giving me a beating, "before you I was". I use to always think I'd be able to trick her but she'd catch me. Because she use to do it herself as a youth. My friend I've been around the biggest fraudsters Canada has ever seen. There's a huge and vibrant naija 419 community in Toronto. They ALL inevitably get caught. They think they're original with their crimes but aren't. The police have seen it all. And this is first hand experience from family members who have been jailed in Canada. I also know many police officers both federally and municipal. The feds allow you to commit your crime while they watch you. Sometimes even for years. When they catch you and present you with significant evidence (They have to build their case), that's when your eyes will shine.

Those Indians and Asians get caught all the time. Every fraud especially on a large scale inevitably gets caught. You know why ? Because of greed. Once most people cheat the system they simply get greedy and can't stop. That's when they come into police radar. Law and order is what makes this country go around. Same with other countries like the U.K., U.S., etc. Trillions and federal government resources are spent each year on it. Without no law/order and it being taken seriously, a country is essentially like Nigeria. It'll be hard for one average guy to beat the same. See how many people in the Trump administration getting arrested. See how many corrupted police officers are arrested and charged in Canada each year. And these are the people who work on the inside and have the ability to hide their fraud. Yet justice is still being served. If trumps admin can't get away from prosecution, you expect me to believe an average man will ? Maybe stealing a chocolate bar fine. You can get away with that one. But big time fraud ? Bros your days will be numbered. I've seen people like yourself say such a thing. Years later after the police breaks down their door and arrest them they understand the game.

Well said boss, most importantly i think we need to teach and train our kids the African culture, i am not sure i would want my kids growing up to be gay or homo, i also think that taking our kids back to visit home( Nigeria) once in a while is very important, i am so scared that if care is not taken the western agenda to dominate the world economy and culture would eliminate our culture. I see another colonialism again. I do not have an issue with any one being gay or homo, its a choice. But i fear that some thing interesting than people just being trans-gender would happen soon, may be we would see situations humans beings wanting to be dogs or cat or even rats, all in the name of being free or individualistic. Good luck to people who choose to be whatever they want to be asides from what nature has made them to be. cool

I have said it earlier that the Canadian culture is about mutual respect.
Therefore, we can't stone a gay person because of his sexual orientation like the white people were killing anyone in Africa who didnt convert into their culture.
We can't discriminate against gays neither because they are protected by the constitution.

However, for you to say Nigerians have a prehistoric mentality because they don't agree with homosexuality is a low self esteem in itself. It is like we have to accept anything the white master dictates. We can no longer choose what is permissible to teach our kids and what isn't.

The stone age mentality is letting other people defining who we are the same way they did in the past.

Yes, our kids should respect everyone.
But we cant let them embrace just anything.

Please guys, say NO when your girl wants to marry another girl or her dog.
Teach your kids that homosexuality is unnacceptable in Africa. And we should be proud of our African heritage.

I agree with most of the points you are making. But you should know homosexuality or being queer is not Canadian or western culture. That's not the right way to look at it.
lol, very funny. what culture is it then ?

Thats the problem. We all want that utopia but nobody is willing to bell the cat. I'm also guilty of the same crime.

But if we dont speak out, how will most people ignorantly wallowing in the cesspool of inferiority complex ever know that they deserve better?

There are times i read comments and choose not to say anything or give my opinion just because i dont want one fellow picking on me. But if we all keep quiet to keep peace, is that not hypocrisy?

That said, I think people should think through this Canadian journey well. Most married people are in it for selfish reasons and its just a matter of time before the cookie crumbles.

Well said you have spoken my mind. That is the trend now, some are migrating not because they want a "better life", but some "freedom". look at the case of the woman i said left her husband whether the guy was right or wrong i can not say until i hear his said. but she wanted to sleep with me, once i sensed it, i just stop talking to her, before she frame me up for rape and sexual molestation later on to use that to extort money from me. My advise to couples check yourself well and sit down and carefully analyze if "love exist" before you immigrate else..............

Some of the men are only using their spouse to get acceptable CRS points, ITA, and in some cases, funding for the journey. While some of the ladies in addition to using the men for the same purposes, are in it to escape their marriages or relationships.

Nigeria has good culture and morals. If only we had same quality of leadership, nobody will apply for this PR.

It is well

lol has it recovered really ? I see all this discourse are ofshoots of that very discourse I cant believe we dragged an issue for more than a week.

Its never happened before lol.
i think arguments are good, if it those not involve attacking personalities. We must discourse real issues. The thread says life as an immigrants in Canada, like i have shared my own observation here on this forum. I have shared my observation and opinion, whilst i shared it i did not attack anybody. So its good we share our views and do not attack anyone. my one cent

I separated a portion of your text. That is their way of life (and they have laws guiding such) So when in Rome do like the Romans.

Stop being pained Sir, you can always move back to Nigeria PERMANENTLY if you want.
I have chosen not to respond to your comments as i see that noble and intelligent people have responded to your comments sir or Ma.
TravelRe: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant by Godbpraised: 4:03am On Dec 29, 2018
Hmmm, i have read carefully the comments of noble men and women on this forum, honestly i respect everyone's view, however please permit me to share my views about Canada and the view about the role of man and woman in Canada as well as accepting the Canadian culture, also permit me to discuss first who qualifies in my views and opinion who should be aiming to stay in canada, at least i have been in canada for 1 year and three months. Firstly
People who should not bother to come to Canada.
1. If you are married in Nigeria and have been beating your wife or abusing her, please do not come to canada, else the woman would deal with you.
2. if you are not willing to submit to ur wife, men guy forget Canada. This is because when you land the canada the very day you land, you as the man becomes the woman and the woman becomes the man.
3 If you like to chase babes and you are married, omo Canada is not for you, becos in Canada women have more rights, them go divorce u like sheet, u go dey pay child support and wife support too. Also marriages crumble here easily because most cities like Calgary and Winnipeg, as well as Alberta are small in population every body knows every one so their is room for gossiping and backbiting, you can be sure that you deeds would be blown open easily
4. If you like to drink beer and social life omo, this place dey dull like crazy. i would suggest you sit down in Nigeria, if you get drunk here and you are driving drunk if police catch you omo u would find yourself immediately in Nigeria.
5. Be ready to do the dirty jobs at least in the first three months when you land, some are luck to get the job of their choice immediately.

Accepting the Canadian culture.
In as much i like the way Canada is been run, working roads, light, good governance, honestly i do not enjoy certain things about Canada, that is the individualism, this is seen even in the lives of our youth, my people kids who are not up to 18 years, start misbehaving all becos of the individualistic nature of the environment, when i was a kid my mother beat hell out of me if i misbehave, my dad slapped me if i misbehaved. Also i have also studied with great pain how "Nigerians" here drop their culture just becos they want to align with the Canadian culture that those not teach morals or even inculcate them, the Indians and other African countries teach their children morals interestingly.
The role of man and woman in Canada
Honestly again i do not want to take sides with a man, but ladies and gentlemen, let me ask you a question before you dump your man ask yourself what future do u want to give your kids, let me tell you about my jist, i met a woman she was married, she complained about her husband a lot, and she has divorced her husband, the woman in question wanted to sleep with me, Jesus i was so scared i just run away from her coz i know want wahala, this is a woman who has 2 kids, guys again its all part of adopting the Canadian culture, well ladies and gentlemen you see the madness here. so guys please while we are in Canada, we should not forget who we are or where we are coming from, else you would just loose your identity. I would encourage we support each other as couples, lets work as a team. I wash plates. i also bring a certain amount of money to pay for bills in the house. Guys and ladies as much as it lies in your power lets keep a family bond. I was shocked to read someone saying here when she comes to Canada she would dump her husband, well i have not heard the other side of the story in the case, but if it turns out that the man is not guilty hmmm, the presence of God is everywhere God is the orchestrator of marriage not the Canadian law ooo. I rest my case.
