I have a relative that stays over there and visit once in few years or thereabouts. I don't think they were after making names for themselves, they just need a life quite okay for them.

A guy that lived with me last year, his sister and her husband stays in Ontario, Canada. They are doing quite well, with their kids and they video call once in a while.

None of these people called Nigeria lame or shit village, they also didn't loot on anything.

It’s crazy. I live in the U.K. working full time and also studying full time and although I don’t have family responsibilities as all my siblings are doing great for themselves na my friends wan kill me. And even though I regularly assist sometimes when you don’t give you get the feeling that they’re unhappy with you. Not cool. Until the lockdown in March when school went remotely online I had just 3-4hours daily just to put up with life. Mana nsogbu adiro.

2. Your Mouth & teeth:
Use a good tooth paste, if you have mouth odour, increase your brushing and have Listerine in your bag to spray on your mouth every time, that would make someone to wish to lick your tongue. You should also try and eat lots of pineapple, it would give your mouth a nice fragrance. Stop eating junks, sugars etc

3. Your cloth
You need don't need to wear the most expensive, take care of the one you have, iron them

4. Take care of your mental health
Identify who you are, what makes you happy, what doesn't, learn about yourself and why you are what you are. Learn discipline, have a book to write down a new friend you are studying which is you. I do this all the time

ModestGal gave good advice, but it's focused more on the exterior, and not your interior (eg masculine framing and dominant behaviours). Even if you're handsome like a model, if you do not assume your masculine domain and still act like a slave in the relationship, you'll still be dumped.

As you grow older, you'll realise that what women say they want, and what they are actually attracted to, are two different things. Problem will always come and go. If my parents get sick while I am away, they will find a solution like selling off property in the worse case scenario, but such may shatter travel plans if I am still in Nigeria.

Being rational and emotional are two different things and that's what distinguishes the highly learned in decision-making.

My advice to every prospective UK students like me is to fly out of this country as soon as possible. There's nothing we will encounter in UK that will be worse than what we are already facing in Nigeria now.

If you have the fund, use it now and leave before something unfortunate happens e.g parents falling grievously sick and in need of money etc.
