Nigerian actress Rita Dominic finds herself among the successful women finding it very difficult to settle down with a man. The beautiful actress has disclosed in an interview with a Nigerian magazine on the reason why she is still single at age 42.

The Nigerian versatile actress revealed that it is sometimes awkward looking at the societal pressures as to when she is getting married and all that even though she doesn’t give ears to such pressures. She rightly stated that she would commit to marriage on her own terms and conditions and not succumb to unnecessary pressures from society.

“I will live with the man, so it is very important that I do it because I want to, not because society wants it for me”, Rita said.

She expressed optimism that she would marry soon, saying, “I believe that God is in control of my life and will present the right man to me at the right time”.

On the question of whether she was currently dating, she said, “I do date sometimes when someone comes around.

“I love being totally drawn to someone and doing all the loving things couples do, but I am wary of liars and bullies”, she added.

The goddess of beauty is a graduate of the University of Port Harcourt where she majored in Theatre Arts and has also won a host of prestigious movie awards.

After serving nearly 18 years of a 20-year prison sentence for the rape of a housekeeper, two men were set free and compensated in millions when DNA evidence exonerated them of the crime.



Larry Davis and Alan Northrup were locked away in Clark County, Washington in 1993 when DNA evidence wasn't available.


But when it did become available, the University of Washington's Innocence Project picked up the case and went to work, eventually freeing and exonerating Northrup and Davis in 2010.


The men settled with the county for $5.25 million each.

Imagine going from a few parking tickets to being locked away in prison for 35 years of your life for a crime you never committed.


That's what happened to James Bain, a Florida man who was wrongfully convicted and sentenced to life in prison for breaking and entering, kidnapping, and rape in 1974.


Bain maintained his innocence from day one, asking the courts for DNA testing.

A nonprofit called the Innocence Project Florida that is dedicated to helping exonerate the wrongfully convicted heard his case and decided to help him.

It's a good thing they did.

DNA evidence showed that Bain could never have committed the rape, and eight months later he was a free man.

The 35 years that Bain spent locked up is the longest time served by a person who was eventually freed thanks to DNA evidence.


Bain received $1.7 million in compensation from the state upon his release.

my mother is very intelligent, she can read the bible very well in our local language, and can speak little pidgin English, she's a fast learner, if my dad want to train her it will be easy but he's not just interested in that, note that when they both got married my dad too was not educated, it was years later that he went back to school and did his PhD and still further on to a theological seminary, sometimes he do wish that my mother should die so that he can get free and marry a woman of his class.
please I need your advice here, I suggested to my mum that he should live him but could not convinced her, she's too religious, always saying that the Bible does not encouraged divorce, and my dad was the first man and only man she knew in her entire life, my father does not know the value of children, sometimes I do question God that "God they said that everything you do is perfect but why did you allowed this to happened?? giving 10 good children to someone who don't care or know the value or worth of a child, wife and family??"

I have been following the SARS story for awhile and to be candid, I had a brush on with them recently. They stopped me and a friend, and after not seeing anything on us, told me my ID card is fake and I need to call the owner of the company to bail me out. I told them I own the business and they said they want to see the documents of registration. I told them OK, I will go and bring it, while my friend waits in the vehicle. They said delay of procurement of evidence is a crime. I was confused. Funny, this people wasted my time and made me lose a customer that day.
