raskymonojendor: My brother! Oil dey your head. Yoruba is not about South west alone. I went on a field assignment in Kogi. Even though Kogi is North Central, the Yoruba people there are YORUBAS, that's how it works, I was at home. Yoruba is not bound by the geographical boundaries placed by the state. However, irrespective of wherever you are from, there is an Omoluabi attitude expected of you and this is missing in this puppet put forward for an hidden agenda that will never see the light of day. 5 Likes |

Seun: Funny thing is they will all forget how you were promoting LP contents and pushing it to the front page, they will forget that you anchored a question and answer session bringing GRV here to answer questions that he even did not answer because he has no answers to give. They will forget all and you have already been tagged a tribal bigots by them. I for one think you are business man and the platform is open to all parties. LP had their time and so did APC and anyone who recognized the reach that Nairaland could give. If EDO NO BE LAGOS wasn't bad, I don't see anything bad in the advert. 2 Likes |

thesicilian: If there's a way I can give 100 likes to this post of yours I would have. That's what LP should have done if they were serious about winning. They brought forward someone with so many baggages just because he has an Igbo background. Someone who denigrated in the past the very people he wants to lead, the internet never forgets and he couldn't even apologize. Someone whose capacity and competence can not match SanwoOlu. All the noise the Igbos and some obidients are making about the GRV issue is just emotional blackmail. He is not the first person to contest in Yorubaland who has an Igbo mother, he is also not the first to contest in Yorubaland who has a Non-yoruba wife. Governor Adeleke's mother is Igbo. Aketi's wife is Igbo. Governor Seyi Makinde's wife is not Yoruba. There has never been anytime any Yoruba man campaigned against any of these people on the basis of where their mother or wife is from. One should then ask, what is different in his own case. GRV was rejected because of his disposition towards his supposed people the people he intended to govern, evident in his submissions online. He wasn't rejected because his mom or wife is igbo. He was rejected because of his disposition towards the Yorubas, his disposition is anti-yoruba. His posts can be likened to an Hausa man referring to Hausas as bunch of Almajiris, no Hausa man will ever tag his people in that manner, at least not one who has the intention of leading them. GRV's loss is Karma playing out, he deserves to lose and SanwoOlu deserves to win! Abeg, LP lost this from the beginning. It's their cry of victimisation that is even annoying now. Twisting the narrative just to make themselves happy. 2 Likes |

Henry22: It appears you and I will never agree on the religion issue, we don't have to. Bottom line, what I am saying is that Muslim-Muslim ticket should not be a threat to anyone if we are a serious nation. It is not only christians and Muslims that we have in Nigeria and officially Nigeria is a secular state. Unfortunately it was the LP that blew it out of proportion. What should matter is development. For Tinubu who decided to go that path it was purely strategic and not emotional or religious and the results has shown that it worked for him. Jonathan was a Christian president, there was nothing particular that I gained from that government because I was a Christian. Buhari is a Muslim, there is nothing in particular that my Muslim friends gained because of their faith. Bring a Babalawo that performs and improves the economy, everyone will experience positive improvement in their lives not because they belong to the faith of the president but because of the positive vibes in the ecosystem. That's my idea and that's my take on it. |

Henry22: Well, I said it's a story for another day, but since you quoted me with the bolded I have to respond. When campaigns started, Peter Obi was going from one church to the other seeking the votes of the church members. That in itself would not have been bad if he was also visiting the Mosques with the same energy he was visiting the churches. I never for once saw him visit any Mosque. He was also going to these churches with one message, NO TO MUSLIM-MUSLIM TICKET. After all, he wants to be elected President of Nigeria. Nigeria is a country that has christians, Muslims, atheists and traditional religion worshippers. Does it mean he only wanted to be President of the Christians?? Please note, I am a Christian before some people tag me Yoruba Muslim and for me I would not mind voting for a Babalawo if I am convinced he is capable of solving the myriads of problems bedevilling this nation or at least a significant part of it. I would rather vote for a tolerant Muslim than for an extremist Christian. Religious extremism is not limited to those of the Islamic faith That's the religious angle and colouration LP gave this election. When it comes to tribalism in this election, I think anyone who looks closely at the data would know where to point accusing fingers. When you juxtapose the voting data or the voting pattern of the Southwest for example with that of the South East you will see nothing but pure tribal sentiments playing out in the South east. In the south west Atiku won in Osun, Labour won in Lagos and in the south west states of Ondo, Ekiti and Ogun where both PDP and Labour party did not win they had significant number of votes and that's the same trend in the other geopolitical zones, same can not be said of the south east where LP ensured their kinsman Obi got 85% or more while the other tribes shared the paltry 15% or less in some states, by appealing to tribal sentiments. That's how it played out and any sane person who wants to be honest and analyse with data rather than emotions and sentiments can not conclude that the Yorubas were tribalistic with how they voted. About the criminals harrasing people as much as I do not support such, I think what responsible citizens should do is to call for the prosecution of those arrested. Thugs were arrested not just in Lagos alone, mind you. In Enugu I read online that 140thugs were arrested in a location alone. Hooliganism anywhere should be condemned. We should not be selective in our condemnation of such acts. 1 Like |
Education / Re: Imagine What Will Happen To Tony Elumelu... by Godspikin: 3:59pm On Mar 20, 2023 |
Karlifate: None. I have come to the conclusion that the number one feature or rather the most important criteria for one to qualify as an Obidient (pka Zombidients) is that the person must be brain dead and averse to reasoning. Tony Elumelu has blessed so many lives, their tribe was never a condition for such. Let igbos boycott his business, other people will support it. I will personally open an account with UBA if such happens. Who even makes the choice of a bank on the basis of the tribe of the CEO. This was how obidients started their "we will cancel you culture" online. If we start using their own weapon against them now, they will still be the one crying like victims. Tony Elumelu knows better, he knows what the dumb, brain dead Zombidients don't. 19 Likes 3 Shares |

Henry22: I so much love your response. That's exactly what made GRV lose this election. He does not have the technical know how. Just go through the resume of all the front runners, you will see that most of the experience he had was as an intern Besides his capacity, he lost because of his disposition towards Yorubas, the same people he intended to lead. Statements made by him in the past were "anti-Yoruba". It shows where his heart belongs. He never denied nor apologized for these statements, meaning he meant everything he said and he doesn't give a damn! He was not rejected because his mother is Igbo or because his wife is Igbo. He is not the first person to contest in Yorubaland whose mother is Igbo or whose wife is Igbo. For the sake of setting the records straight, Aketi who is the governor of Ondo State has an Igbo wife, the mum of Governor Adeleke governor of Osun state was an Igbo woman. During their campaigns it was never an issue, no Yoruba man ever made it a reason why they should not be voted. Moreso, the tribal and religious colouration that this election has been characterised with was driven majorly by the LP but that's a discussion for another day. Those who voted SanwoOlu are not hyenas. They are people who also love peace and would like to continue the progress that the state has experienced so far under SanwoOlu rather than handover to a green horn who lacks manners and who was too arrogant to apologise. |

socialmediaman: David Hundeyin is an idiot, it is not Yorubas that chose Tinubu it is Nigerians. If you look at the voting data from the south west, the votes were divided amongst the 3 front runners, same for the North East, North Central, North West. It is pertinent to also note that all the numbers Tinubu was able to garner in the north, even in states where he was not the winner is what guaranteed his victory. In the south west Atiku won in Osun, Labour won in Lagos and in the south west states of Ondo, Ekiti and Ogun where both PDP and Labour party did not win they had significant number of votes, same can not be said of the south east. That's how it played out and any sane person who wants to be honest and analyse with data rather than emotions and sentiments can not conclude that the Yorubas were tribalistic with how they voted. When it comes to tribalism in this election, I think anyone who looks closely at the data would know where to point accusing fingers and would also know that the failure of this block in this election and in many others in the past is their failure to understand that alliance and networks with the voting blocks with huge numbers is what guarantees electoral victory in Nigeria's presidential election. Rather than tow this line they are always in the habit of denigrating the Yorubas with despicable words, just because the Yorubas always align with the North in General Elections. Politics and electioneering is a game of numbers. In the gubernatorial election in Kano, close to 2million votes were recorded. What was the total votes of the South East in the presidential election. I think more than ever before, this election has shown that whoever wants to become the president of Nigeria does not really need to bother too much about the south east, especially with the way they voted in this election. If such a person can win significant number of states in the South South, south west and an appreciable number in the North. 2 Likes |

It's not a giant's footprint. This guy didn't do any research at all. That's a gneiss there. These are metamorphic rocks formed and cooled at depth, solid by the time it becomes exposed to the surface, how then will a giant leave his footprint on a solid hard rock. If it were to be a sedimentary rock then you could have a mould of such footprints but on a metamorphic or igneous rock, it's impossible. Even if it were to be that he stepped on molten magma (lava), which is unlikely, you still wouldn't have the prints intact. These are called solution cavities What a black man does not understand, he builds a superstitious belief around. 7 Likes |

rayvelez: This your statement is why Igbo will never be president in Nigeria, as long as you see the relationship between the south west and the north as Slave-Master relationship rather than see it as a political alliance. Igbos will always cry at every election cycle whenever an Igbo candidate is presented as you guys will always lose till Jesus comes. The magnitude of your cries will increase, so will the frustration that follows your failure of the pursuit of Biafra. 1 Like 2 Shares |

misano: That's why if you ask me, the only true path to significant development and rapid growth is to practice true federalism. Without that even if you bring Jesus to be the president there can't be humongous or huge difference. The type of federalism that gives room for positive competition, especially with the energy the South East has which should be invested in industrialization rather than this agitation for Biafra and the bitterness that the failure of that pursuit brings. Also that industrialization must be guided by institution that will ensure standard is maintained, I say this because in my little sojourn in business I have noticed something about the Igbo man's business principles, standard no dey matter, he is driven solely by profits. 1 Like |

JagabanBorgu: Igbos are not even tribalistic but clannish. It's even worse than being tribalistic cos clan is a subset of tribe. Imagine Abia State government sacking civil servants who are from Anambra, whereas in Ondo state where I am from there are so many igbos in our civil service, same for Lagos State. Some parts of the South East don't like marrying from Ebonyi. Yet we Yorubas intermarry with the Igbos. When others are showing you that you can be accomodating and allow others thrive in your domain, you want to ride roughshod over them. 43 Likes 9 Shares |

Jnkay: Abeg rest jare! You think you know, you don't. Yorubas are reasonable. You expected people to follow Labour party like zombies and not x-ray the person that was put forward. If Ambode or Doherty had been the candidate, SanwoOlu would have started packing his bags. GRV was rejected, it's that simple. He wasn't rejected because his mom or wife is igbo. He was rejected because of his disposition towards the Yorubas, his disposition is anti-yoruba. Igbos that I know would do the same. Just imagine, someone that was raised by a Yoruba mother, making disparaging comments about the Igbos, they too won't give him a leadership role as sensitive as leading the most promising state government seat, they won't even allow him win a councillor seat. I know quite a number of brainwashed Yorubas who voted Obi but had to reason rather than follow the bandwagon. That's the essence of education. So rest bro or rather reason, that's if truly you are Yoruba as claimed. Not everything you people tag as being tribalistic is actually tribalistic, some are borne out of reasoning and logic but emotions will not let you guys see it as it is, because another Yoruba man on that ticket without the baggage of GRV and with requisite capacity and experience would have won this election. 9 Likes 2 Shares |

naijapips04: So apt! You are very on point! All that you need to do is to make other igbos like you see reason. You understand the issues most of them don't. They are just overly emotional. Nobody gives power to a people out of pity. Nobody gave the Yorubas. The structure of the country is already skewed against both the Yorubas and the igbos. To win a presidential seat one needs to align with others and since politics is a game of numbers, the north is the beautiful bride, particularly the north west. The Yorubas understand this but your brothers see it as weakness, they tag the Yorubas all sort of names, but those who know are aware that the Igbos will never be president in Nigeria with that attitude. Rather than do a root cause analysis of why igbos keep losing anytime they put forward a candidate from the South East they transfer the bitterness of their loss to the Yorubas. 7 Likes |
