let's face it,Nigeria splitting will have northern Nigeria an alms begging nation...you can prove me wrong, the stats and indicators are there, they don't lie

Mineral resources is just one of the things and I don't mean Gold alone. The states of Nassarawa, Zamfara even Bornu have some of these minerals. There are nations that have next to nothing in mineral resources but have just their land and people and are doing excellent. It is erroneous to say that the north doesn't have anything. I don't subscribe to that.

Arable land for agriculture I mean.

the north will be a photocopy of Mali and Niger, and you know how Mali and Niger are

Please educate me about Mali and Niger, don't leave me guessing.

What I know is that every state of Nigeria has all the resources it needs to compete favourably in a system of true federalism (fiscal federalism).

It will shock you to know that these northern states have abundance of things you know nothing about or you do not acknowledge as resources.

I am a GEOLOGIST and I can tell you that when it comes to solid minerals in Nigeria, the north is where you look for most of it, that doesn't mean you don't have it in the south as well.

The reason why we all aren't looking inwards and being creative with revenue generation drive is the overdepedndence on Federal allocation which is largely based on Crude Oil. This very thing is the bane of our underdevelopment.

There is no Messiah that will save Nigeria with this present system, not Obi, not even Tinubu or anyone. I dare say not even Jesus, as long as the President will not be in Aso rock and at the same time be at the bank when the manager hoards new notes, or at the special centre where people are being registered so they can score 8 or 9 As through exam malpractices or at the filling station where the pump has been adjusted and sold at a price above the regulated. The best we can get is just some little improvement here and there.

The only Messiah that will change Nigeria is that man that is courageous enough to change the present structure and system.

Are they afraid to suspend wike or what.

In politics, as it is in boxing and wrestling, there is heavyweight, lightweight and featherweight.

Ortom has no weight and political value. Wike is a governor in a state where PDP cleared all the assembly seats both states and national and has a new governor. Seyi also won most of the state assembly seats and a significant number of the national assembly seat. They would think twice to take action against them.

More so, there is no evidence against this two. Ortom already provided evidence by declaring support for Obi. He is the only member of the G5 who did so.

Thank God for BVAS! cheesy Fowl nyansh don opiin!

The Igbos have tried. . . what else do you want?
The SW and the Core North have leaders like Daura Dunce-Buhari, Hell Ruffian, GangDollar and a host of their BACKWARD HENCH AGBEROS and the likes that keep putting the SS and the SE back and apart with their unholy political alliances. I not say the Core North is not needed. . . but their leaders fail to do the right thing and truncate the wishes of the people just like they do in the SW. They need to learn to do the right thing. . . just like the SW. Simple.

If they can't do the right things. . . THEY ARE NOT NEEDED.
Those who mean well from ALL PARTS OF NIGERIA will keep fighting to get right.

REMEMBER GEJ only became president out of sheer luck.
He would never have been presided if it were up to the alliances of the SW and the Core Northern political cabal who are not really loved by Nigerians but use terror and intimidation to surpress the general will of MOST NIGERIANS.

Women in politics are subjugated. . . Young people disenfranchised. . . Children neglected. . .Elderly abandoned. . . and much more.

The 2023 elections proved that THE AVERAGE NIGERIAN IS NOT AN ETHNIC BIGOT. . . only the leaders are.

Oh I see!

Those type of leaders are not in the SS and SE.

Okay, noted!

And please who are you to decide that they didn't do the right thing just cos they didn't vote for Obi, who are you to dictate how they should have voted.

As a Nigerian you have one vote and those in the north have one vote too, they have decided to use it the way they seem fit.

Who are you to query them for that?

I knew when the SS and SE finally finished with APC, they would come back home and drum support for OBI. Because they have seen the injustice metted out to the SE presidential bid and the wickedness of the SW and Core North to deprive the SE from this wonderful opportunity to earn their rightful place in history.

Ngige

Once you have the votes of the SS and the whole of SE.

Politics / Re: You'll Regret If We Storm Lagos, IPOB Warns Igbo Attackers by Godspikin: 3:31pm On Mar 23, 2023
TonyRazor:
You'll regret if we storm Lagos, IPOB warns Igbo attackers

Tony Okafor, Awka

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has warned the traducers of the Igbo in Lagos to stop or face catastrophic consequences.

The separatists gave the warning on Thursday in a statement circulated by its media and publicity secretary, Emma Powerful.

IPOB's reaction followed the molestations of the Igbo in various parts of Lagos during the February 25 and March 18 polls in the area.

In the Thursday's warning, IPOB vowed to confront henceforth any undue molestations of the Igbo in Lagos in any manner howsoever.

The secessionists, however warned Ndigbo to stop investing in Lagos, enjoying them to start making preparations for mass exit of Lagos, any time soon, stating that at the interim, they should form gallant groups to defend themselves from any physical harm.

The group's statement read in part, "The global movement and family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) ably led by the great indefatigable liberator Mazi Nnamdi Okwuchukwu Kanu condemns the numerous abductions and attacks on Ndigbo resident in Lagos by the notorious thugs and criminals led by MC Olomo, who is the leader of Lagos State Government political thugs.

"The anti-Igbo sentiments, threat, attacks, and abductions of Igbo traders, residents, and businesses threatening them to vacate Lagos is a threat to the entire Biafra nation.

"It is quite unfortunate that Yoruba political, traditional, and religious leaders are keeping quiet on the raging anti-Igbo sentiments in Lagos, Nigeria, which shows that they are on the same page to forcefully eject Ndigbo out of Lagos.

"The bigotry and parochialism that polititcians through their political thugs have recently demonstrated against Ndigbo has shown that the aged long bitterness can't be healed. One thing certain is that Ndigbo will vacate Lagos, and we don't expect any mediation to stop such exodus as it's bound to happen soon.

"At the interim, we encourage Ndigbo to form gallant groups to defend themselves from the tribal vagabonds and political thugs. The criminals and cultists recruited by the politicians are pushing the Igbos and expecting us to react and we must respond to them shortly.

"We are going to settle the problem with Igbo and Yoruba in a way people will marvel and nobody should blame us, Igbos have been monitoring these criminals. Those behind this devilish activities against Ndigbo must regret their actions soon. Every Biafran must prepare to leave Lagos and don't say we didn't inform you.

" Nevertheless, we are urging Ndigbo both men and women to prepare to vacate Lagos. Only a person who doesn't have a place would be annoyed when your host asked you to leave his or her house. We acknowledge that many of you have built many mansions and markets in Lagos. You have a choice of selling those properties, mortgage them, or lease them while you journey to your fatherland for your safety.

"We have existing markets in all parts of the Eastern Region that are enough to accommodate our people. The international markets in Ebonyi, Imo, Abia, Enugu, and Anambra States will accommodate all the dealerships ready to relocate to our region.

"These markets can be expanded while many new markets will be built. IPOB will stand behind every relocation and development of international markets in Biafra Land.

"Therefore, we urge the newly elected governors and House of Assembly Members in the Eastern Region to work with communites to make land available in every province for international markets and industrialization projects.

"Again, we have to be involved in making sure that our people bring back their motor spare parts and we expect other markets to relocate from Lagos to Igboland. We advise them to start it quickly. We are delighted that our people are realizing that Nigeria is not for them, and the thought of relocating their businesses back to the Eastern Region is long overdue.

"Those in Lagos should know that they are not in any way doing better than the businesses in the Eastern region. They should come back to avoid losing their precious lives and properties to the holigans working for political conspirators.

This statement of yours is why the Igbos keep failing whenever they put an Igbo man forward for the seat of the president. Politics / Re: The Yorubas Are Becoming An Insecure, Frightened And Second Rate Nation by Godspikin: 5:05pm On Mar 22, 2023
ariesbull:
No woman likes a clingy, insecure man. But that is what we yorubas are becoming, a frightened, insecure and second rate nation. So fearful that we cant even accept one of our own because his mother is ibo. There was a time when the word swagger was synonymous with the yoruba. Reflecting self assurance and confidence. We exuded belief. The ibos secretly admired us. They adopted our clothes and music. They flocked to our churches.

We accommodated strangers because we were so sure of ourselves, of our standing in the world, our stature, our swag that we knew our guests were not a threat. Now all that has drained away. We are now like the insecure man who marries a pretty woman and secretly consumed by self doubt, fearing he is not good enough for her tracks her every movement, obsessively going through her phone, hates her male colleagues because he is petrified she will leave him for someone better. Is this how low we have fallen that we now fear those we once used to regard as culturally inferior to us, we once said the ibos could not dance, could not dress, lacked poise and polish, were not as read as us, now we work ourselves into a frenzy about them taking over a yoruba city hundreds of miles from the nearest hamlet in the south east.

One of the greatest ever yoruba leaders Adekunle Fajuyi once gave his life rather than live with the dishonour of handing over his ibo guest to those who wanted to murder him. We now compete with each others to denounce our ibo guests whose only crime is trading and living in our midst, ideologically handing them bound and foot to the caliphate who hate and distrust us as much as they hate and distrust them

We look for wild statements of a few ibos to justify our fear of all of them in doing so demonstrating not our courage, but our fear, our insecurity, our deep rooted inferiority complex towards a tribe who have outmatched us and outpaced us.

A tribe who rose from the ruins of a war in which they lost 10% of their population but refused to break, to wallow in self pity, to feel sorry for themselves, did not fear those who beseiged their land, but went forth and conquered with commerce those who had conquered their land with bombs. They bought our property while we frittered the proceeds on women and easy living, then having wasted our inheritance blame those with greater foresight and discipline of taking over land we freely sold to them They take care of their relatives, training them in the family trade while we turn ours to househelps and drivers. They pool their resources together while ours is used to tear our families apart. They build businesses, we chase every lowly special adviser looking for government contracts. They have learnt to thrive when marginalised meaning even excluded fron government largesse they still have a lower level of poverty than we do.

It shows in sports. In the 1980's the national football team was split down the middle between ibos and yorubas, with the yorubas dominating the more glamorous and creative roles. For every Okala, there was an Odegbami, evet Chukwu a Muda Lawal, every Stanley Okonkwo a Fekix Owolabi. But since the 90s and noughties, the roll of honour in our national game has been claimed by the ibos. Who have the yorubas produced to match the profile and performances of Jay Jay Okocha, Emmanuel Amuneke, Kanu Nwankwo, Mikel Obi, Vincent Onyeama. When ability, fortitude, resilience, drive and determination is needed we see the ibos. But when patronage, easy living and dissolute lifestyles are on show enter the yorubas.

We cant even plan coups properly. The most incompetent coup ever planned in Nigerian history was the one plotted by yoruba officers in beer parlours over pepper soup and big stout against Abacha leading to its most senior officer grovelling before the dictator pleading for his misteable life. The coup before that planned by ibo and delta officers - the Orkar putsch in 1990 saw the prime movers defiant to the bitter end, facing death with honour.

How did we end up here? 25 years of flirting with power at the centre, of living off and chasing unearned income, of prostrating before the caliphate has turned us to feudal retainers. Men who have lost their manhood. We are cowed into silence when state sponsored gangs rampage across our lands raping our women, burning our farms, slaughtering our yourh. The few who find the courage to fight back we disown, we call them ruffians. When our yourhs protest against injustice as they did during the endsars we attribute it fittingly to an ibo plot. And why not seeing the qualities needed to organise a protest so well executed it captured the international air waves for days required courage, initiative and drive. Qualities we are now so enfeebled, so morally vacous we happily agree belong to the ibos.

A fish rots from the head. Our legacy was built by giants like Fajuyi, Awolowo and to a lesser extent Abiola. Men who gave their freedom and their lives rather than surrender their principles. But what have we now? Bola Tinubu who keeps quiet when millions of ibos are put at risk in his city by vicious tribal bigotry and baiting because of his lust for power. Bola Tinubu who buried his head when his own people were being gunned down in churches in their own land by gun men under the protection of his fulani bosses. In the halycon days of the founder of the modern yoruba race the closest Bola Ahmed Tinubu would have got to power would have been organising security at UPN party conferences. Today he is the acknowledged leader of the yoruba race.

We have these last few weeks of eternal shame revealed our weakness, our insecurity, the spiritual barrenness that now lies like a void at the centre of our world. We fear a yoruba man because he has an ibo mother! Thats how supine, how fearful we have become. We forget the yorubas killed in their hundreds last year by state protected fulani gunmen because we are desperate to be awarded office by those who defile our women and pillage our land. Principle counts for nothing. We are up for sale and not for very much. This is how far we have fallen. We have won an election but lost our soul, we are in office but not in power. We are now pound land, okrika wake version of the northern elite who inspite of their monopoly of power at the centre havrle feared the commercial acumen and success of the ibo fir 5 decades so much they turned on them whenever they felt threatened by their own inadequacies as we have done the last few weeks.

We are now a pale imitation of the , a frightened, insecure, tremulous and second rate nation clinging like leeches to power se seek at any cost because we have nothing else to offer.. The ibos have not held power for 60 years and thrived. We have just won it for the 3rd time in the same period and still like the fulani fear them. This is how low a once great people have fallen.

Kola Odetola

All the noise the Igbos and some obidients are making about the GRV issue is just emotional blackmail.

He is not the first person to contest in Yorubaland who has an Igbo mother, he is also not the first to contest in Yorubaland who has a Non-yoruba wife. Governor Adeleke's mother is Igbo. Aketi's wife is Igbo. Governor Seyi Makinde's wife is not Yoruba.
There has never been anytime any Yoruba man campaigned against any of these people on the basis of where their mother or wife is from. One should then ask, what is different in his own case.

GRV was rejected because of his disposition towards his supposed people the people he intended to govern, evident in his submissions online.

He wasn't rejected because his mom or wife is igbo. He was rejected because of his disposition towards the Yorubas, his disposition is anti-yoruba. His posts can be likened to an Hausa man referring to Hausas as bunch of Almajiris, no Hausa man will ever tag his people in that manner, at least not one who has the intention of leading them.

If we are to talk of those who have played a divisive and tribalistic politics in this years election and in recent past, it is Peter Obi and the igbos.

When Obi was contesting against Ngige, he erected a billboard putting Ngige between Tinubu and Awolowo and putting himself between Ojukwu and Zik. Please tell me how that is not tribalistic.

The voting data of this election has also shown without any doubt that the Igbos are clannish and tribalistic. While the votes of the South West was shared amongst the 3 tribes of the front runners, with non-Yorubas winning in Lagos and Osun and in states of the south west where they didn't win, they had significant numbers which is not so in the South East.

If the Yorubas now decided that they wouldn't want their liberal nature to be taken for granted such that a particular people now wants to ride roughshod over them, how is that tribalistic please?

For the incidents of violence that has characterised this election, I think all well meaning Nigerians ought to condemn it as it was not restricted to Lagos or the South West alone, even in the South East and across the country lives were lost to the violence that characterised this election.

It is foolish to think that a region that has been this accomodating is tribalistic. When evidence abounds, at least in this election the very people who are tribalistic.

That Abuja 25% exposed Obi as the dullard that some of us have known him to be.

I thought he said he had proof he won the election and was going to show that to the world. He just made Tinubu's case very easy now.

As far as the Abuja issue is, Abuja is more or less like the 37th state of the nation but the constitution refers to it as the FCT and it has it's own uniqueness as such, part of which includes the fact that it does not have a house of assembly or a governor. However Abuja has no special status such that one must win Abuja before he can be declared President. If that were to be so, what a candidate needs to do is just win Abuja alone even if he fails in 30+ states, it also means even if a candidate wins 34 states but loses Abuja he would not be declared winner.

That is totally illogical, only zombidients can imagine such.

That would be wrong.

Numerous Yorubas voted against Tinubu.

Some cos of the Muslim-Muslim ticket and the fact that they view his vice as an extremist. Some who would have voted for him did not because of his age and health.

Some of those who voted for him voted for him because of his past record of performance.

That's not to say that there are no Yorubas who voted just because he is Yoruba.

If you say Tinubu lost because of the interference of Igbos that then would mean that the Igbos have the highest population in Lagos, which is false. If there were no Yorubas who voted for the LP in Lagos, there's no way LP would have won Lagod, mind you Hausas too have quite a number of voters who may not have traveled down to the North this time because of cash crunch.

I am talking about the voting data here not an assumption. You have to convince me from the voting data.

When you juxtapose the voting data or the voting pattern of the Southwest with that of the South East you will see nothing but pure tribal sentiments playing out in the South east.

In the south west Atiku won in Osun, Labour won in Lagos and in the south west states of Ondo, Oyo, Ekiti and Ogun where both PDP and Labour party did not win they had significant number of votes, same can not be said of the south east where LP and Igbos ensured their kinsman Obi got 85% or more while the other tribes shared the paltry 15% or less in some states, by appealing to tribal sentiments. In the south west other tribes won 2 out of the 6 Southwest states and in the states they didn't win, they had significant numbers but in the South East, only the Igbo candidate won and in some states he got over 90%. That's what the data shows. Which people then should we say is tribalistic in the way they voted or which people should we say is voting along tribal lines. Mind you the votes of the north was also shared. It is surprising to know that it is only in the South East that a particular candidate dominated or took almost all the votes.

So where is the tribal line you are talking about in the Southwest. Please show me using data.

You will enjoy it if you watch it,he is so on point this time. Those pastors are the problem we have in Nigeria at the moment they are going fanatics just like bokoharam
Every Yoruba family has both muslim and christian living together without problem and now these pastors are doing everything to drive a wedge between them
If you watched this just concluded election, most christians voted along their tribal line against their pastors wishes

Not true!
It is not true that Yorubas voted along tribal lines, if you check the spread of the votes you will see that as evident, however some if not most of the youths voted along religious lines.

The reason Tinubu lost Lagos was because some Yorubas in Lagos voted along religious lines. Most Yoruba Christian youths voted based on their perception of the Muslim-Muslim ticket as an affront to their religion. A baseless point howbeit.

StJasper:

She can win if she does the following:

1. Shun tribal card.

2. Do away with religious card.

3. Let political bigwigs from other regions promote her.

4. Run on a platform of a party that has nationwide acceptance.

100%

You just described all the factors that led to Obi's loss.

I think the Igbo people still have a good shot at this presidency of a thing if they can field a candidate like Prof. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala.
.
With her vast knowledge of economies and her experience at the world stage, we can be certain she has all it takes. Wikipedia currently quotes her age to be 69 which makes her much younger than the incumbent president.
.
She is known for her neutral stance in ethno-religious commentaries and she has worked with several Nigerian presidents and world leaders.
.
.
In my opinion, most Nigerians will vote for this woman if she ever runs for office.

It still boils down to one thing, ability to make solid alliances with other regions. The igbos must not make it appear they are all she needs to win.

Also she must not make her campaign to be about religion just as Obi was going from church to church. Nigeria is a country of pagans, traditional worshippers, christians, muslims, animists, atheists and some that don't even have a classification even though Nigeria is a country of Muslims and christians just for the sake of filling forms.

She is loved no doubt. I mean I for one would vote for her but she must be able to have foot soldiers in the Northern part of the country. Strong politicians, particularly the state governors because the party structure at that level is built around them.

SHUT UP. What was ''superstitious'' about thinking he saw giant footsteps?

Are you even aware that there is evidence that GIANTS walked this earth in antiquity?

It is actually western (Ie WHITE) researchers that have pioneered in such finds in recent times.

A simple Google research will educate you.

But a self-hating idiot like you sees a need to insult ''black man''.

ASSWIPE.

It is obvious you are an idiot who has no brain.

What's the meaning of superstition?? The belief that a particular event happened in a way that can not be explained by reason or science.

I only showed, as a geologist that it is not scientifically possible to have foot prints on hard crystalline rock (basement rocks: Igneous and metamorphic), where in my post did I say it is impossible to have foot prints at all, but the fool that you are instead of you to disprove that, you are saying gibberish and insulting. It shows how little your brain is, you think everything starts and ends on google.

What's the insult for, am I not a black man as well. You are obviously the idiot here and I will not avail you the opportunity to drag me along with you in your mud of ignorance and foolishness by responding to you anymore

The thing is, they are not solid thinkers, they thrive on weak emotions, bogus sentiments, paranoia, foolish and violent outbursts and pointless hostility.

...but their greatest flaw remains self-destruction, they self-destruct by nature no matter what.

If you give them Biafra today, by tomorrow morning, they will have different factions, different warlords controlling different partss of igboland with brutal abd bloody enforcement of their backward and sadistic ideologies.

In fact, they will all rush to migrate out of igboland like a mass exodus.

Very true!

We predicted and saw this coming... grin grin

The funny thing is this, even if the Igbos achieve Biafra, they will still need to work with their neighbouring countries. Biafra is landlocked. The niger-deltans will definitely not go with Biafra. There is a reason the Ikwerres never returned their properties. Yorubas that didn't even do this to them cos that's what reasonable people do, how have they reciprocated that gesture.

If they keep this attitude, no one will welcome them anywhere even after they have achieved their Biafra.

They are the cause of their problem. Everybody can't be hating on you for nothing, check yourselves. Tell the truth to yourselves.

Outstandingmam:
Wike made a mockery of this election but like I told a friend on Saturday, this is exactly how elections have been operated in Rivers state since 2003 at least!

It's even BVAS that curtailed him a bit now otherwise, you would have seen like 1.8m for his candidate. PDP has always always won Rivers elections this way. It's unfortunate that Wike didn't allow the voices of Rivers people to be heard in 2015 and 2023. 2019 was a self inflicted injury by Amaechi and Abe.

Rivers and Akwa Ibom.

I was an adhoc staff in 2011 in Akwa Ibom. The APC agent was paid for his work at the polling unit by PDP.

BVAS has changed this trend now.
