Politics / Re: Channels TV Host Had To Clarify The Difference Between BVAS And IREV For Obi by Godspikin: 10:21pm On Mar 17, 2023 |
soojar: Those asking that question are simply ignorant, that's the only reason. The purpose of the results being uploaded to IREV is not so the INEC chairman can copy the results (soft copy) of the polling unit from IREV. IREV is a new development, introduced for the sole aim of transparency and also it is expected that the members of the public can view the results (soft copy) that emanates from each polling unit from the IREV. For the purpose of collation that result is not needed, please note that it is expected that the hard copy and soft copy are the same, what is used in collation however, is the physical results (hard copy) signed by all the agents and security personnel present. Now this is my answer to that question, irrespective of the fact that the soft copy is available online or not, the hard copy is used to collate results from that unit and other units at the ward level, once it has been checked to see that there is no over-voting, it will only be rejected if the number of votes is higher than the record of accredited voters on the BVAS of that unit. Each BVAS is configured for a particular unit for every election. If the results of a ward has been collated, it goes on to local government collation, to state and then to the national collation centre (for presidential election) where it will now come to the INEC chairman, at all these layers of collation there are accredited party agents who signs. The collation process is independent of the uploading of results on IREV. That a result of a unit has not been uploaded to the IREV does not mean that it can not be collated. So you see, that's why the INEC chairman refused to succumb to the manipulation intended by those who were staging a show that day. There's a process and these people are aware of the process. Before IREV, that's how collation has been done and even with IREV, uploading results or failure to upload results on IREV does not hinder collation. It's in the INEC guidelines. I hope I answered you. It's just like a lecturer telling you he will upload soft copies of your scripts for last semester on your class website (if possible) and let's say after he marked the scripts and took snapshots he lost his phone so he failed to upload it as agreed and when you resumed you discovered you got a D, as long as he has the physical script with which you were graded it is inconsequential if you complain to the Senate that he failed you. It is the physical script that the Senate needs not the soft copy you expected him to post. Please note, I do not support the non uploading of the results in real time because I believe it's a very beautiful development but the issue here is that this in itself is not the real issue, it's just being blown out of proportion by people who already know they lost, because duplicates of the real hard copy results were already given to them (their agents). |

Some people even started congratulating obi after results of few polling units trickled in. It's called a General Election for God's sake, not local government election. Even SUG election sef, u go wait make dem count most of the departments. Some faculties dey get huge population pass some. Revolution2022: Stop confusing people with your Aba made analysis. Data can not be uploaded automatically, to accuse the Chairman of INEC wrongly shows your ignorance. It is the Presiding Officer that sends snapshots of the results from the BVAS to the IREV (Everything starts and ends at the polling unit level, anything beyond the polling unit is just collation of results already generated and confirmed to conform with the guidelines). Other information such as number of accredited voters stays on the BVAS and it is confirmed and cross checked with the results at the ward collation level. If over voting is discovered at this level the results of the unit is cancelled, if not it is collated and goes on to other layers of collation depending on the type of election. It is pertinent to state, for the sake of those who still feel the INEC chairman is culpable in any of this. The INEC chairman has no control over what happens in the over 176,000 polling units. If any irregularity is discovered in any unit, it is the Presiding Officer, who must have signed an oath form (I know this cos I signed it several times) that will face the music. If our judiciary really wants to set this nation on the path to glory, so many corp members and ad hoc staff should go to jail. The way the electoral system in Nigeria is now, rigging starts and ends at the polling unit, and it is a dangerous and risky assignment, as the process that allowed for one to go Scot free has been checked by the BVAS. 6 Likes |

lhordspy: I cringe when I see young supposedly bright minds brainwashed by the whole religious cum tribalistic propaganda sold to them. I know some very brilliant chaps who could have beaten up their very good friends some weeks ago because of this scam of a man. A lot of solid relationships have already been destroyed because of this dumbo. The funny thing is they are quick to tag you with any of their emblems (tribalist and so on) once you are of a different opinion or you are trying to make them reason. Some of them even said once a candidate does not win FCT, he can't be declared winner. Anyone who has a brain should know that if FCT is the most important state that one needs to win to be declared winner, then all I need to do as a candidate is to win FCT. Even their spokesperson said APC did not win Lagos and did not win Ask rock, for God's sake, it is a national election, you don't have to win everywhere, you win some, you lose some but you ensure you win strategic states and get significant votes in others (that's exactly what was inferred when they were told they do not have structure) but they thought it is by winning online polls. Una go wail Taya! This election has been the fairest and most credible since the return of democracy. Is it perfect? NO, it isn't. The only dent on the credibility is the fact that results were not sent to IREV in real time but even that was blown out of proportion by the opposition who already knew they lost because every record of the polling unit votes have already been released to every party that has an agent at the polling unit, so irrespective of whatever modification or alteration is uploaded, the parties already have an idea of what they scored, that's the essence of having an agent at each polling unit. I have been participating in General elections as INEC ad hoc staff since 2011 except this year and I can say comparatively this is the only election where rigging has been reduced to the barest minimum and we should keep improving. There surely must have been irregularities here and there, even if all of those votes are voided by the tribunal APC will still win. 5 Likes |

I laugh when I read some of them say, experience does not matter, even Seun said so, though one can understand that Seun is a business man and he is only driven by making profits, nothing else. In your mind, every Yoruba that is not supporting Obi must be an agbero, that shows how myopic and daft you are. The igbos are not tribalistic at all. The results of the just concluded elections has exposed all your lies. You tag a Yoruba not supporting your Obi tribalistic, whereas here we voted for PDP, APC and LP but your clannish kinsmen who are not tribalistic, we have seen how detribalised you guys are, since everyone is tribalistic once they are not supporting Obi. Your reference to military administrator in Lagos shows that it is a waste of time trying to educate a dunce like you, since you do not even have an understanding how military administration works, as if all those who were milad in your state were from your state. We are talking about Democracy you are talking about military administrator. Did I even say Chinedu is not from Lagos? Where in my post did I say that? If only you can read but it is obvious you can't or you have a problem with understanding. The governor of my state has an Igbo wife, I know quite a number of people around me who married igbos, I do not have a problem with anyone marrying an Igbo woman. My position is that Chinedu can not insult the Yoruba people and suddenly now want to rule that same people he insulted, are you Chinedu or are you his lawyer, he has not denied it so why are you carrying it on your head like gala. If Adeleke who you cited as an example also says anything disparaging about the Yorubas he will also be so treated but he obviously isn't like your Chinedu. You are calling an interview that was aired on TV false information, as if the person that was interviewed is not a known personality in Anambra, Innocent people were killed and tagged MASSOB members, that's a fact. I know you never watched the video, even if you did you are already blinded by your tribal sentiments. You lots were using the Endsars incident against SanwoOlu but you did not remember he is not in charge of the military then but you suddenly realised Peter Obi is not in charge of SARs now You and I know those who are Masters in peddling false information. Who were those who shared information that Obasanjo stopped over 1 million people from Chad who were being transported into Nigeria by 100 trucks?? Just imagine! One million people being transported in 100 trucks, only a brainless zombie would believe such, brainless zombidients did believe and shared the information with passion. Obidients Who were those who shared information that the INEC chairman was in Lagos on the eve of the election and left in Bola Tinubu's private jet, a claim they attributed to Bode George who came out and said only a crazy person would believe or share such an info, even Charly boy, a grandfather was amongst those who shared it Obidients This is my only response to you... Enemyofpeace: You guys like to sensationalise issues. No one is calling GRV omo ale because of his marriage to an Igbo woman or because his mother is Igbo. He is being called an Omo Ale because of his utterances and disposition towards Yorubas in the past which is evident in his posts before he vied for office, which he has not denied. Out of all the major tribes it is Yorubas that intermarry with the Igbos the most. The governor of my state married an Igbo, no one has ever called him an Omo Ale, the Deji of Akure has an Igbo wife. In Yoruba land, the word bastard is not reserved solely for illegitimate children born out of wedlock. It's also a word used to describe anyone who brings shame to his father or family, denigrates his people or behave in a manner that is short of how an Omoluabi should behave. No true Yoruba son or daughter will refer to another as Afonja, because it is a slur word used by igbos to insult the Yorubas. Except he denies those post of his in the past, he is nothing but an Omo Ale, Omo Ale t'oun fi owo osi juwe Ile baba re. Omo Ale jatijati! See what GRV intends to do with Lagos obas in the link below, Let's not be foolish. This guy might be Yoruba based on his father's lineage. There is nothing Yoruba in his conduct and utterances. That people followed Obi does not mean that all those hiding under this bandwagon movement have good intentions, GRV inclusive. Yorubas are known to be reasonable. Most Anambra people know these things, they are only silent because they believe with Obi they have a chance, but they are always quick to use the tribal bigots card the moment you aren't supporting Obi. That's why I pity most of those following this bandwagon movement without asking questions or at least overlooking critical things. Most of them focused on religion, Muslim-Muslim ticket as if once a Christian is President or once Vice president it automatically translates to development. For me I don't care if it is a Babalawo that has solutions to Nigeria's problem, I will vote for him.
