Penguin2: Allow him to continue.
The people cheering him on are the same people that cheered Chimaroke on into oblivion. Same fate will befall him.
And when he’s finally down, he’d look for the allies he thinks he’s made now and won’t find them.
Since the Fulani took power, the Igbo man has been conditioned to hate his fellow Igbo people if he must get anything from Nigeria; especially at the center. That’s why men like Umahi and Okorocha are their friends.
But Obi broke from that ‘norm’ and soared on like a lion and won the ultimate price. That’s what drove shivers through their spine and they had to rig him out.
But instead of condemning the sham of election that happened on 25th February, Soludo is sticking to the old rule book of hating on his fellow Igbo man to please the rest of Nigeria.
Well, Jim Nwobodo did it in 1998 and never got anything from it till date. Soludo will still not get anything out of his own foolery.
We all know he has eyes on the presidency, we will wait for the day he will come out to contest or even become the presidential candidate of any party. He’d have to win without the votes of Ndigbo and the rest of Obidients. As a matter of fact, he can win without the votes of Ndigbo. That's the mistake y'all keep making. Ndigbo votes make no difference if any candidate can get significant votes elsewhere. |

Bestmanfornow: The Yoruba Community in Anambra State, at the weekend, coronated the third Oba of Awka, Alhaji Abdul Olahan, popularly called Ezechinedu, (Leader led by God) by his admirers.
Before him were Oba Owolabi I and Oba Oseni II whose transition took place about a year ago. The new Oba, who has spent 68 years in Awka, was barely two years when he was brought to Awka by his late mother, Alhaja Afusat Olahan, to join his late father, who was a tailor, Hamzah Olahan, from Ede town, Ede North Council of Osun State.
Speaking after his coronation, the new king assured that the Yoruba ethnic group would continue to remain peaceful and supportive of the government at all levels. The renowned fashion designer, fabrics and estate management entrepreneur pointed out that the new position is an added responsibility on him to lead, with God’s wisdom, to resolve issues, as well as bridge gaps between people who disagree. https://guardian.ng/news/yoruba-community-in-awka-coronates-new-oba-gets-soludos-assurance/ An end needs to be put to this. These are strange cultural practices. They should have presidents. It's an abuse of the title Oba |

1kTask: I understand Lagos, Abuja and PH cost more, but what about more rural communities?
My google searches show prices between N100k - N1m, on average. If anyone has engaged the drilling of one recently, what are the prices looking like? I also understand a manual and machine drilled hole cost different.
So another is, what are the disadvantages of a manual one?
If you're wondering why I'm not asking about a specific location, it's because it's a social project and the locations haven't been chosen. Thanks! It is unprofessional to quote for a borehole without having a knowledge of the subsurface geology. It's like administering treatment because someone has fever without carrying out a test. The first thing to do is to conduct a geophysical survey, which will guide you in the project, it will also give you a clear idea of the cost. A borehole that needs to be cased down is double the cost of the one that does not needs to be cased down (hanging) and it is the subsurface geology that will inform all these. I am a GEOLOGIST and I advise you carry out a geophysical survey first. Incase you need my services let me know. You can reach me on Zero.Seven.Zero.3902.Seven.Four.18 |

Btw, I have done the Geophysicals, here’s a part: Ok. Good From this survey you need to drill at least 180m, in order to have a productive borehole. I can drill this at #7,500 per metre Please note: The cost of casings used will be borne by the client. This price is for drilling alone, that is, installation is excluded. Is04970: The solution to this is dissolution of all Ibo traditional titles in Yorubaland. Yoruba ronu. 100% It's a shame that our leaders had to wait for things to degenerate to this level. It is alien to Yoruba culture to have different Kings in a town, in towns where such exists in Yorubaland there is always a deep history behind it. There is freedom of association, people can form cultural or tribal groups which should be led by Presidents, but in a situation where they give themselves traditional titles and even go about with paraphernalia of office. It is a strange practice that should have been stopped long ago. It is high time our legislators across the Southwest bring up a unified bill to put an end to this. It is barbaric and an affront to Yoruba heritage and culture. |

Ofunaofu: First and foremost Tinubu did not win 34 state. This settles it because I know where you are coming from as his supporters
The fact remains that Tinubu did not meet the 25% requirement in the FCT Abuja, and shouldn't have been declared the winner
To your question,
If a candidate can be so popular to win 34 States, he will comfortably get 25% in the FCT Abuja because his popularity would have rob off on the people living in the FCT Abuja, aliens are not living in the FCT I never said Tinubu did. I am asking you if any candidate wins 34 states and fails to win FCT, you are saying his popularity will rub off blah blah blah, obviously you are evading the question. I have my answer already and I think at the appropriate time the tribunal will answer you. |

LocalStandard1: And do not forget every FCT throughout history carries special status cause that is the seat of power, hell the most special territory of all territories. That is the law. So yes, even though it carries status of a State it is very much above every other, that is why it was singled out with AND THE. That is not the law. You know nothing about what you are saying. The Constitution (law) is categorical about the fact that no state is superior to the other and that the FCT is infact "like a state of the federation". |
Politics › Re: The Supreme Court Has Resolved The Nigeria President & 25% Fct, Abuja Quandary S by Godspikin: 5:35pm On Mar 26, 2023 |
Ofunaofu: "This then begets the question: is it just, reasonable and sensible to argue that a candidate who, for instance, won 36 States of the Federation and also polled the highest number of votes cast at an election but failed to score 25% of the votes cast in FCT, Abuja cannot be deemed the winner of the election? I think not. That would not be just, reasonable and sensible."
This argument doesn't hold water, infact it is a very silly argument and can only come from the camp of the APC who are at the moment caught up with the law.
If someone can be so popular to the extent of winning the entire 36 state, getting 25% in the FCT Abuja shouldn't be difficult because those who live in FCT Abuja are Nigerians who should be in tune with the popularity of the said candidate U are the one sounding silly here. The question you have not answered is this, if someone wins 34 states but has 12% in FCT, having scored the highest number of votes. Is it unjust, uneasonable and insensible to declare him the winner??. Please give your answer. A No or Yes. |

Education › Re: What Is Happening To Lagos LP Chapter? by Godspikin: 5:02pm On Mar 26, 2023 |
traihit: LP is more of a party for the young people. It is not an Igbo party and it doesn't bear a semblance of that. Politicians and APC in particular are the ones making it look like it's an Igbo party.
Where LP lost it with some youths is the propaganda of "no man's land" and from my part, I fault GRV for his inability to speak Yoruba even though he's Yoruba.
How will you truly communicate to a people whose language you don't speak? How will you assure them and die their fear that you're an ethnic mole? GRV needs to work on himself and it should be a lesson to other people who see their language as a "vernacular". I insist that LP is an Igbo party. The few young people who joined the bandwagon were brainwashed by propaganda. It is not politicians that are making it appear as though it is, rather it is in fact a tribal party and politicians are only pointing it out so people can decipher and make sound decisions. How do you know if a party is a tribal party, you may ask Let's compare the main parties and LP, so you can have an understanding. In APC or PDP, In any state of the north or South West, for example let's say Kaduna or Lagos or Osun, 90-100% of those involved in running the party and party affairs which includes mobilisation, campaigns, party agents at the polling units are usually locals, indigenes of that state. Check the LP and you will find a totally different thing. Even in the north, in Lagos too, igbos are state party chairmen, secretary, in charge of one committee or the other. Does it mean the party members who are indigenes of that state are not trustworthy or not competent That's why LP is an Igbo party. A party controlled by igbos even in non-igbo states is nothing but an Igbo party
Also, you don't seem to have a full grasp of what is happening. Not being able to speak the language is not as bad as saying to journalists on National TV (AriseTv) that "he does not think in Yoruba" Please what does that even mean? He is simply saying he is only Yoruba because his father is. In his heart of heart, he isn't Yoruba. From your posts, I can see that it is the issues that appear on the surface that you can relate to. I say this because GRV wouldn't have faced that much opposition if it were to be just his Inability to speak the language, as bad as that is. |

Corona22: My name is Ayomide ,obviously a Yoruba man. I’m a Christian and I have no political affiliation. This should not be important to clarify but that’s the current state of the country nowadays. I’ve spent most of life in the southwest , so my opinion will be shaped only by what I’ve experienced in the southwest alone.
I’m utterly disgusted and disappointed with the current state of affairs in our country today. How did we get it so wrong ? We’ve decided to pick sides and fight each other based on affiliations that mean nothing in the greater scheme of things for politicians that look at us as statistics and not people.
I supported Peter Obi because I wanted a breathe of fresh air , because Tinubu is obviously too old and physically unfit to withstand the rigors of being president. I’m not sure he can steer us in the right path in this ever evolving world as befits a country as great as Nigeria. He obviously belongs to an older generation and he doesn’t seem to have the capabilities to “converse” ( for the lack of a befitting word )with other world leaders of the world. That is my personal opinion that I’m entitled to, my constitutional right. I did not vote Obi because I’m Igbo or because I’m a Christian.
But Tinubu has won.
I’ll say this to the Igbos that are justifiably angry and bitter and have been insulting Yorubas ( I know a lot of Igbo people that have not insulted anyone and they have my respect and thanks and such people is exempt from this) , They are bad , tribalistic people in all tribes. Painting us all with the same brush will only create enemies where they was previously none.
I’m Yoruba. And when you attack the Yoruba tribe as a whole , you attack me as well and my natural inclination is to pick a side. Let this narrative that all Yoruba hate all Igbo die and let us all move on from this. Old people fight is not young people fight. Why are we inheriting our grandfathers beef ? The people that did evil against the Igbos are long dead and facing their judgement. This generation is meant to be different. Let it be so and let us have one Nigeria instead of a divided one Peace The beef is from the civil war. It was Nigeria that fought with Biafra, it wasn't Yorubas versus Biafra. When the war ended, Ikwerres who are supposed to be part of Biafra refused to hand over properties owned by the igbos before the war back to the Igbos but the Yorubas who are reasonable and decent people gave back all the properties they left behind and helped them to start over again. Unfortunately the seed of hate had been sown in the average Igbo's heart against the accomodating part of Nigeria that welcomed them back with open arms. |

Don’t let anyone guilt trip you into believing that Yoruba are bigot. We're not. We're not just stupid Exactly, it is unfortunate that the Igbos took our liberal nature for stupidity. They took the Hausa Fulani slaves they tagged us whenever they use the word "Afonja" too far. Yorubas are liberal and we understand the game, our alliance with the Hausa Fulani is strategic to the point of pursuing and achieving political objectives. I believe it is now clear to them we are not stupid. They wanted to emotionally blackmail a whole tribe into doing their bidding. It will never work! The Southwest has 6 governors, 2 of those governors (Ondo and Oyo) are married to Non-Yorubas (Igbo and Kalabari), The governor of Osun had an Igbo mother. No Yoruba has ever made the election of these governors about where their wives or where their mother is from. We can't say the same about the governors from the south east. The same igbos who rejected Aketi's wife and said she should go and contest in Yorubaland can now turn around and cry tribalism just because we rejected their militant who has no regard for his "Yoruba people or the Yoruba culture" |
