Mr. Kunmi, you need to take things easy ooo. You aren't even a permanent resident yet you are talking of Canadian passport cheesy. How about you all apply as a family, both of you write IELTS and evaluate your highest degree then migrate together. After getting the PR you can decide to stay back if you want. But the plan of getting PR, staying back while also applying for wife to be a PR blah blah blah will not work. You people should migrate together. Simple!

Very funny, Did you just ban me Mr Wip?, By telling people the reality of what to face where they are going.
However, if you re really after the achievement of the student traveling. you will tell them more.

My advice for those guys who don't have scholarship and sponsor, please I beg you in the name of God, trying to get a better grade,
then start applying for a fully-funded scholarship in developing countries, because no miracle will make you get work or to pay your
tuition fees and accommodation at the same time.

Also if you do not have IT and hotel management work experience, then prepare for hard labour job or No job, as a brother.
you will see the listed fully scholarship on youtube or you can google always

Who is the PA? My wife

How old is your wife?
32

I believe she is younger and since she has Masters, she is better as the PA. 452 is quite low in relation to the current CRS trend but that don't mean it isn't worth trying, there are other options you can explore such as PNP someone said PNP takes a longer time and it is not easy to get

or learning French to boost your score(even those at 460s are learning French). A lot of patience and tenacity is required on this journey.

And has for what to do next, you and your wife should take this time to prepare for IELTS Her IELTS score was 8.0 Over all, mine was 6.5
while you wait for the outcome of your ECA.

It an EU country
Czech is the only official language of the Czech Republic, other languages can be heard here, particularly Slovak, German, Polish and Romany and English.

My sincerest and honest advise
Please stop applying to Germany from Nigeria
Stop wasting your money on applications

Now is the time to either face your life in Nigeria or move to other smaller European countries and then to Germany.
It will never get better from here
From the look of events the embassy cannot work this year.
The backlog next year will be so much there won't be enough dates.

Please and please stop wasting your money applying and end up using your admission letter to buy akara
God bless us all in our journey to success.

Wisdom, someone gave me this same advice years back, I kept on saying miracle will happen, fasted for days, traveled to mountains for prayer, my last rejection was same day I was coming back from mountain.

To recapitulate my point. This year I had to put in other EU country, omo come see how admission dey come like rain. Even without Block account, just prove that I have something in my account or a relative.

I even got scholarship from a best university which beat the Germany university I want to kill myself on in world ranking.

The wisdom is, once you enter any EU country, you can do study transfer to Germany or even Canada,
Secondly, if you apply to Germany with any EU certificate, both the university and VO will surely consider you want than Yeye Nigeria certificate.
This is the fact.

Don't be too prayerful and forget reality or to apply wisdom. Time wait for no 1. Starting from small EU country is better than waiting for Germany for your year's and nothing happened.

Remember, before you say God, I even took flight to Abuja to fast and pray in a well known church for days.

But this other EU country, my prayer was just some minutes in my room with no fasting.
And boom, admission came, no Block account, no visa interview, scholarship that I don't worth ( which university will give HND scholarship)

So this our brother is giving a good advice
Am talking from experience.

Bible says, watch and pray
Mean: pray and apply wisdom

Danke

Eventually, if people advice you to leave him for another man, you will still come again for another advice, then God willing you marry. You will still come online to seek for advice.

You better learn to fight your battle alone with God in prayer and work with your attitude too

Let me analys this

Like 30% of people advicing you here are single and don't have a perfect relationship

30% are married with their own marital issue
20% are in relationship for relationship sake
20% are married or single and God had been faithful with there relationship and life.

To recapitulate my point, try to avoid online or friends advice when it's come to relationship or marriage, must of them have worst relationship than you, but they will only hide it and keep giving you advice to destroy your own life.

Imagine a single young lady counseling people of 3-20 years in marriage.
During question section, I ask her. Are you married? She said no. Then I walked out.

Is just someone with opay CEO counseling Dangote. Which business he won counsel Dangote for? Wey Dangote never do before he ever dreamt of doing business.

Far from it bros. I have never been to Canada, but I have friends who entered through the express entry route. A few were in the category of the professionals you mentioned and are doing very well: one of them is already talking of taking a mortgage. Another one, though doing very well, is already talking of bailing as soon as he gets what he wants (he is not wired for the environment). I am not trying to discourage anyone; in subsequent posts where some people were condescending, I explained that many rush without a concrete plan and these are the ones that I am most concerned for. Research the country you are going and try to get the legal status required. Canada has made this easy for professionals through the express entry. But seeing our people risking their lives through the desert, dying in their quest for a life of uncertainty, being ferried across the Mediterranean with the boat capsizing sometimes, getting arrested at the port of entry and hurled to immigration centers for deportation, being transported in refrigerated trucks or fighting for refugee status hurts me. I don't see the need for such a risk and would advise against it. If you have no plan, stay in your country.

As to the dignity of labour you mentioned, far be it from me to undignify anyone's hustle. At some point, I considered being a security man myself and I am sure I'd have loved it if it paid my bills. I have also seen a garbage man driving a BMW 5 Series in one of the developed countries, so I know you are saying the truth. My emphasis is that our folks (including the professionals) abroad work hard for everything they have: those who work in management consulting/audit sometimes work up to 80-120 hours per week, the nurses put in long hours, the doctors see a lot of patients and may not necessarily have the time to enjoy their money, the engineers/miners sometimes go to remote locations far from home to work, those in the academia spend a lot of time writing research proposals to get grants in addition to teaching, supervising research, mentoring students and other administrative work that may affect family time. When I did my investigation, I found out that those guys calling people to cut their hair or braid can earn up to minimum wage. Those doing black work also earn a lot...until they are caught. My point is that it's not easy for professionals or non-professionals, and folks back home need to take it easy on these relatives abroad.

Nobody fucking care about anyone
My point instead of you discouraging people online about abroad or seeing only negative example.
While not let them see how they can come, huslte , save money and either come back to invest in Nigeria or set up a simple life.

To recapitulate my point, is better to study in Germany, Canada, USA, or Malta and do part-time job than doing full-time bank Job or some usless office work in Lagos.

Work for 24 days
Get up 3:30am
Come back home 11pm
And still end up collecting 30k-100k as salary
Transport will take 50%
Food will take 20%

In all this, your life and money is not safe in the hands of SAR, Kidnapers, and Agbero.

I will say Bleep anybody money, I will huslte right with honesty and will always encourages anyone that is better you do cleaner or hotel attendance in Europe or Canada than a banker or office worker in Nigeria with no job security

2 months back access bank attempt to lay off thousands of staffs, if not the intervention of FG.

Someone Nigerians, once they see that you just newly come to abroad, they will be bitter, thinking you have come to block there own opportunity.
Not knowing that abroad no be there father land.
You re only opportune to go before them.

But that's not the case of Asian countries, who always find a way to give there citizen information on how to come to abroad and survive. Check YouTube you will see there videos.

But the only video you see our Nigerian posted on YouTube are shakushaku, the car and house they bought.

The best thing in life that will give us respect and dignity is to hustle on your own, don't beg, infact don't let everyone direct your life.
Respect those who respect you
If they think you re around them because of there money, bushit them.

It will all end with praise for every true Hustler

How come you only knew the ones working as cleaners, drivers or drug sellers?

My advice for any Nigerian that want to travel abroad are
1. Go through study visa
2. If not study visa, God via work visa
3. Or via Immigration visa

As a student, study hard and be focus.
I can bet you that no Nigeria university can be compare with any university in shengen country or Canada, UK and USA. DON'T ASK ME, Google it

Finally, learn any lucrative Skill like data analyst or computer science related skill or medical professional (nursing).. live simple, spend little and save more for your future and pray for God's Mercy and bless.

I hope you aren't trying to paint a gloomy picture of living in the abroad?

Well, in as much as I am not disputing all what you wrote up there, there are categories of people living in the abroad, Canada to be precise.

There are two categories of Nigerians living in Canada- it's either you're a permanent resident (PR) or of a refugee status. It was very funny, and I was very surprised, when I met a Nigerian for the first time in Canada and he was asking me "where you pass enter...", and I am like, "Ha ha, where else I wan pass enter, no be airport" grin grin grin? It was later I learnt that there are two routes to Canada as a Nigerian- through the airport as a PR, or through the border post, Ruxton Road, as a refugee and protected persons. These are the kind of people you have described up there.

For the record, most Nigerian who came into Canada as a PR are professionals, as in professionals. They are engineers, accountants, IT professionals and what have you. It is the frustration in the Nigerian system that made some of us to leave. Some of us left because we want the best for our children. We left so that our children will not be carrying the green passport all around, thus denying them opportunities from anywhere around the world. Mind you, it is a big sacrifice we made for our children. In case you care to know, some of us leaves six digits salary work at Chevron, Total, NNPC, KPMG, etc to start all over again at the lowest rung of the ladder.

In addition, that one drives uber or taxi in Canada does not mean one isn't doing well. I know Nigerians have a warped mind set about dignity of labor. There are people that drives Uber in Canada and they have their own mortgage apartment. You need to see the guy that clean the toilet at Mississauga Square One, you go wonder shay na person wey dey clean toilet be this?! grin grin grin But the nobody send you o, because no be you go pay their bill. The cleaner in my office drives a 2018 Honda CRV, the kind we call first grade tokunbo in Lagos. I don't think I have ever boarded an Uber car brand beyond 2018 since my stay here as a PR. As a matter of fact, I once boarded a 2020 Benz as Uber rider.

In conclusion, what I am trying to say is there is an exception to the rule as you have posited, particularly in Canada, except for those of refugee or protected persons status. Finally, my advise is anyone travelling to the abroad should go with the right papers, pass airport enter grin and receive your "Welcome to Canada" or wherever it is greetings. Peace!

God bless you for this

Why don't you tell us the challenges the Nigerians heading multinational companies or working in big oil companies faced before they made their breakthrough? Ajimobi, who eventually headed National (Shell) Oil Company, told us he was a mortician's assistant in the US; Mike Adenuga, who is one of the richest men in Nigeria, drove cabs to send himself to school; Dele Giwa's friend drove taxi and sold ice cream in Baltimore; even many rake snow just to eat. Those people you claim to know had their rough times and that is what you should interrogate, not fly into Nairaland and make it s :Deem as if they didn't struggle at some point.

I know you know many but can you mention one CEO of these big multinational companies who had no challenges at all and became a CEO, who did not do menial jobs to make ends meet at some point?

Good
Is not better to do menial job and school the same time in a good institution with good security?

Tax is a stupid excuse to leave a society that works. This has been analyzed several times on nairaland. Tax is one of the major reasons behind those subtle & obvious differences between Nigeria & the developed world. Don't live abroad with a Nigerian mindset - integrate properly when you get there & stop recreating your own Sapele, Oshogbo or Abakaliki in those countries.

Indians, Pakistanis, Lebanese, Russians, Chinese etc are collectively running a chunk of the economy of wherever they go but stupid Naijaman is a lone ranger with perpetual immigrant mindset. We never integrate & we are surrounded by empty barrels who can't see beyond their stomach. Everybody is decidedly self centered the way we are at home and it's always "I better pass my neighbor" and always looking for shortcuts. Story long abeg!

I remember when I lived abroad and was unfortunate to be in a relationship with someone back home. She calculated my earnings, deducted the costs of my rent, fuel and feeding, and requested I sent her the rest. She wanted to spend it on a lavish lifestyle to impress people and on her new relationship since I wasn't around.

When I returned to Nigeria, I fed better, lived better and had savings. Many of the folks back home fail to realise that many abroad work multiple jobs to live fairly comfortably and the taxes are high. I knew a man who worked as a taxi driver during the day and in the restaurant at night, I knew many who sold drugs, I saw some who worked as cleaners in the mornings and in care homes in the afternoons, there were some whose jobs were looking for customers to cut or braid their hair, even some who picked plastic bottles to sell and many of the women in prostitution. They would go to discount shops to purchase clothes at a bargain and some even go to second-hand shops. Then someone in Nigeria would send a message for money to make downpayment for iPhone 16.

Very funny
You only know someone who work in the day and night but you don't know someone who went to Europe, study and got a good job
Or someone who travelled on work visa.
