This one is not new …I think is caf problem not fifa …this happened too prior to Qatar 🇶🇦 2022 ,d opponents in Morocco 🇲🇦 group played most of their matches in Morocco 🇲🇦…na caf Dey do dt rubbish not fifa ..They organise d wcq competitions as a body under FIFA . FIFA no fit Dey everywhere na ..

Meanwhile when it comes to CAF , South Africa 🇿🇦 and Morocco 🇲🇦 are above caf rules .they dictate everything in caf ..that’s my observation
Then what are we competing for? Just hand them the win make everybody waka. I just pity the next Afcon competition in Morocco

Those 3pts must be taken from SA. Not for our WC Hopes but for Justice and to avoid setting a precedent that will cause chaos down the line. Let the rule be applied for the integrity of the game at least.
There are integrity issues already with the wcq, especially in our group. Even if this rule is eventually applied, why it has taken this long is an indictment already.

Osasu Obayiuwana is a proven and respected Voice in African football Journalism. So na him dey that studio. Very good.

Idah Peterside on point all the way.

Raymond, a neutral and sound authority on all things legal within FIFA and CAF hit the nail on the head. Someone is playing cards with those 3 pts.... FIFA cannot and will not escape their own rules NO MATTER HOW LONG THEY DELAY.

Raymond pointed out twice in this video and clearly too that in all his years of legal football experiences with CAS and all that, he has never seen FIFA drag their feet this much on a decision for just one game.

Time will tell coz if those 3 pts are not gone, a dangerous precedent is set.

Thanks man. Enjoyed every minute of this.
FIFA that approved that potato farm as stadium to play football and made SA to play seven games at home and two games in few days in same city and stadium. That alone has made me forget those 3 points cos that stadium own is the worst I have seen from FIFA ever.

The only way you justify government spendings is to keep government big. Our political architecture as structure will do all it can to maintain status quo so they can make the most of the system for their personal benefit. For instance, NYSC as a scheme should have been outlawed or at best restructured to met present day relevance, so I didn't understand why they insist on keeping it the way it is. I however followed the money and it made sense. Over 90% of the funds allocated to the ministry of youth is spent by the NYSC with humongous budgetary allocation to the 21 day camping, kits for corp members and their feeding. Once you see this you'll understand why they'll rather die than change it.

Also, no private fund will come into our sports as it's structured. They know with government actively involved it won't work. It's why DSTV left the Nigerian league and now Startimes who came in just last year has also left.
With all those kickbacks from contractors, they would rather die grin It's terrible, we are just wasting humongous employment benefits for millions of Nigerians through sports due to greed and covetousness.

No, not with the current system of government we run. The lack of accountability that pervades the NFF isn't peculiar to them, rather they learnt it from those is power. You have to realize that this has some historic underpinnings. During the military regime when the general sentiments was angst against the government, sports was a tool for the military to do as they fit. It was the most effective tool they had to bring the nation together in times of crises. The current structure we have across all sports federation was developed during the military era.

To your question, today there are additional incentives for government to keep funding sporting association without necessarily demanding accountability. State government with teams in the NPFL for instance spends average 600M naira yearly to run those teams without the expectation of revenue. Players of those clubs who are by extension civil servants are one of the highest earners in the country (earning more than doctors and professors). They'll however continue to find them because many of these teams like 3SC for example have strong local support, and for weird reasons have some electoral value to those in power.

Also, the portfolio these infrastructures provide helps politicians to settle some of their loyal party members in positions of government. Solomon Dalung and Sunday Dare who were the last 2 ministers of sports had no sporting foundation whatsoever or the administrative intelligence to run it, but they got rewarded with those offices because they were simply rewards for party loyalty. The same sentiments applies at the state level.

So unless we have a government who will value competence above all else, status quo will likely remain the same.
Sports needs to be seen as a business before it can truly thrive in Nigeria reason I was elated with the generous cash award from both the public and private sectors to both the falcons and tigress after winning their championships which signals the kind of value expected of things going in the right direction.

I think the fear for politicians, civil servants and others who benefit from the current mediocre way of doing things is that they know that once sports is now seen as proper business that will be the end of their hold on the sector cos we will now see real investors who will be willing to stake their resources and insist on ROI which will force the entry of competence and professionalism in sports. Just look at the dangote refinery revolution that has made the unions like NUPENG and other bureaucratic strongholds on the sector now grasping for their lives since it’s no longer business as usual. Our sports men and women deserve so much for their efforts but politicians and bureaucrats need to give way.

Yes poor decision...just see how Benjamin Frederick gave us balance cuz he is a real ball playing defender, now the big question why are we always having issues in keeping good possession against smaller football countries?it's simple lack of real ball playing midfielders.....yes Iwobi is good but has his limitations, now we are having Akinsanmiro and Eletu coming up,the two are home grown talent just like Frederick.... Frederick has not had played 10 professional matches but see the way he solved our CB issue...do we need to wait for Akinsanmiro,Eletu and the likes....in real sense these guys are better ball playing midfielders than what we have....Ndidi,Dele Bashiru and Onyeka will never give us balance and reason why we're struggling....till date I don't know why Onyedika will always be on the bench., Onyedika carry ball very well and does it with ease.

Coming Afcon, Chelle just need to be brave and integrate players like Ogbu, Akinsanmiro,Eletu and time for Onyedika to start ahead of Ndidi.
@ the bolded, and we want our national team to play tiki taka o

The painful part is that this same CAF and FIFA didn't allow so many countries play their matches at home, claiming no good stadium but allowed South Africa to play in a worst stadium. The whole stadium ban is a charade.

that tackle deserves a red card , both legs went for it ... They quickly figure it out that Aina was going to be a pin in their ass , went for him and he was taken out at the early stage of the game .... i listened to one of the interviews ... it was clearly stated that the pitch was picked as a retaliation of the long distance travel , when the SA team Came to Nigeria . since NFF could not contest it . even the captain and The Coach should have aired their opinion immediately . iit has happened , lets move on .. Quick recovery Mr Lulu
It will get to a time when African football will no longer be interesting to watch if some teams or nations continue to get petty all in the name of revenge for what is either their fault or what is out of control for anyone hosting the game. There is no point in competing if all you know is to cheat to get an advantage. Later, we will say the game in Africa is not developing. How do you develop with all these football apprentices who don't want to genuinely improve or win fairly?

Honestly, I am beginning to lose interest in the upcoming Afcon cos I can imagine all that Morocco will do to win at all costs. The Moroccans I saw who were walking away immediately, Lookman was announced as APOTY will not let go easily if the odds are against them in Afcon; it's scary despite how good they are on the pitch!

America has always been like that, with both assassination and attempted assassination of popular figures such as Presidents and other notable people. That society never degenerated, that's its true nature.
