chrisooblog: bro you may not like keshi but you can't ignore that he left a positive mark in nigerian football.
he came in when the super eagles were the butt of jokes all over the soccer world especially from fellow african countries calling us super chickens. maybe you have forgotten how embarrassing that period was.
he also coached us to an unexpected AFCON victory winning in style beating favourites like the drogba led ivory coast. he also qualified us for the world cup and took us past the group stage into the second round equalling our best ever performance. all this he achieved in 2 years through grit and hard work building from the bottom with home based players. something it took the much heralded clemens westerhof 5 years to achieve.
the big boss had his faults like every normal human being which we all criticized him for but we can't because of those short comings say he wasn't our best ever manager.
as for rohr i like him he's also contributing to the success of the super eagles but until he matches or surpasses keshi's achievements then bro there is no basis for comparison.
like every sincere nigerian fan i wish rohr and the super eagles success during and after the world cup Just leave them alone my brother, make we no past first round for world cup, make person come tell me say rohr better pass keshi. Folks have forgotten, that until rohr became Eagles coach, he hasn't achieved any major success with any African side. |

Thank you Sir, some folks here want to start making excuses for rohr already while maintaining that keshi was a bad coach. Let me remind folks here that since we all agree that we now have better collection of players than in 2014, we have no excuse than to better our past records in Russia. |

charlesemeka85: oga even if rohr dont make it out of the group he is miles ahead of keshi. keshi is the worst and biggest fraud that happened to nigerian football. during his stint with the team he nearly turned the team into a personal business and an avenue to market mediocre players to obscure leagues in europe. he didnt win the afcon because of his tactical acumen but out of luck and determination of the players who believed they can go all the way after eliminating the tournaments favorites CIV. rohr took the eagles job when all hope were lost, got talented and determined young players, brought the best from mikel by giving him the leadership role in the team and a sense of belonging and made the young team believe they can qualify from a group that had 4 afcon winners. gernot rohr is a blessing to nigerian football Until Nigeria reaches quarter final of the world cup, keshi remains our best coach. Haters can do the needful by hugging...... |

HigherEd: Awesome.... The issue I have is that it is still some deeper life members/catholics that would come to attack the likes of Oyedepo and Adeboye when they build their own big cathedtals. I remember that before deeper life went into building of universities some of their members here on NL criticized and compared endlessly against the rccg's and the likes. Soon enough deeper life got a university and it turned out equally as expensive as that of them Oyedepo and Adeboye. Same with the catholic universities that sprung up. Augustine university might even be more expensive than landmark. Let us stop this I better pass you complex in christianedom! Lalasticlala Don't blame them too much, they were taught wrongly over the years by their leadership that beautiful edifices were worldly and not Holy unto the Lord. But now their leadership eyes have now opened to understand the bible better. If you observed all deeper life churches buildings all over are now wearing a new look due to facelifts here and there. They even collaborate with other churches better which was not the case before due to their holier than thou altitude. Deeper life has simply evolved. My grouse is that they misled so many believers from time immemorial |

Mboma's goal was fantastic and would have gotten the attention of the media if it was scored today.

eterisan: What Went Wrong In London? Viable Replacements Needed In Super Eagles Published: March 28, 2018
The clarity of the Super Eagles misdemeanor at the Hive Stadium in London skewed a lot towards some inevitable deficiencies and once again set pulses racing, calling for measures to be taken as well. This had been a long time coming and the death knell seemed to have sounded as soon as the last minute change resulted in Leon Balogun dropping out due to illness and quite why Rohr thought it wise to replace him with Chidozie
Awaziem ahead of Kenneth Omeruo remains baffling. While that seemed the necessary evil the German could have mustered, addition of a viable experienced head in defence, it must be said, was a tactical nous which could have paid off.
Joel Obi has yet not done so well to justify his re inclusion, Ogenyi Onazi tried to do one too many things in the absence of the team's adhesive Mikel Obi.
Ndidi remained egregious but unavoidably rendered ineffective. It seemed the team's best players the likes of Victor Moses and Alex Iwobi all struggle to replicate any sort of cohesiveness when the Tianjin Teda man is absent. Yet again, it showed.
As Serbs resorted to exploiting the less experienced Tyronne Ebuehi down the right, much of the cover up work fell to the aforementioned Onazi and the team's attackers failed to truly trouble Vladimir Stojkovic in the Serbian goal.
It is worth noting that the Super Eagles would come up against much more organised teams as Serbia were on the night in Russia come June.
And there was young Francis Uzoho. The 19-year old would hardly be blamed for both of the goals he let through but realistically should not be saddled with so much responsibility as a first-choice teamer, no doubts about his quality though.
This first loss since June 2017 is a very necessary reality check and now that Rohr and his wards are no longer under any illusions as to where they are, it is important corrections are taken now, with three more tune up games to be negotiated before the tournament proper and that would mean to sniff out worthy replacements for every position in the team.
Emmanuel Chinaza Source: http://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/read_news.php?nid=27134 @the bolded, I hope some folks will come to terms with this |

Kog45: They are inexperience?but do we have any experience LB better than the trio.
I'm a great apostle of experience but when experience lacks the required quality then is meaningless.
Elderson for now lack the quality despite his experience.
If we want to base it on experience Omeruo should be our number one CB but is number four behind Balogun, Ekong and Awaziem. The CB and RB seems to be sorted but the LB is yet to be sorted, this is my point, whether Echiejile is bad or not, neither idowu nor aina has been convincing so far and this is what Rohr who is their coach seems to be saying with his body language though he is commending them publicly so as not to cause panic. Another position is the AM position, if you can watch that interview, it surely gives more insight to the present state of things, Joel obi was invited because of the need for more left footers in the team, whether he has impressed rohr so far remains to be seen. I think you need to watch that interview. If I get the link, I will post it |

Kog45: Sir,it's simple, when Shehu got injured who replaced him?Ebuehi and when Idowu was substituted who came in for him?Aina, this is to tell you Echiejele is behind,so making the team look dicey for him.
Sir,what do you mean by lack of depth in our team, are you saying Idowu,Ebuehi and Aina are not good enough for the team. they are all inexperienced Sir and it showed in our last two games, it's left to the coach to decide what's best. I watched a Rohr's interview shortly after our game with Poland and he admitted he has options for the LB to pick from and from his body language, that position is still a concern for him. He even went on to admit that the SE no longer have quality these days like in the nineties which is a fact no one can contest. He said he is laying more emphasis on collective team work rather than individual efforts. Finally he admitted that only moses and mikel are the game changers in the team with support from iwobi, nacho and Ighalo. The man surely knows the degree of quality in the squad. |

Joebie: Even Aina is better than Echiejile at LB.. Rohr said Aina, Idowu and Ebuehi are Echiejile's competition at LB
I posted the quote here.. you guys should keep praying for Echiejile we've seen aina in two games and he was not impressive, For Rohr to admit that Echiejile is still in competition, it says a lot that the LB is still not sorted despite the all the names that have been called. we seem to forget that aina, idowu and ebuehi are still very young players that if not the lack in depth we have in the squad, they stand no chance in our senior side, that's how bad things are currently |

We know ebuehi is a back up for Shehu and both omeruo or awazie can be back ups for Balogun and ekong but for that LB no one. Don't even mention Aina. His supporters have finally concluded he is better as a RB to defend his dismal outing against Algeria and Argentina. So echiejile remains relevant. |

Mikel Obi failed to qualify us one 3 occasions but later came back to redeem himself with a AFCON trophy and later took us to the so called second round. Why? Because he was still given the chance to prove himself. Chikena Did keshi not give martins a chance? |

MetalJigsaw: The biggest mistake Rohr made that totally shattered the team was removing Victor Moses in that game. His his skillful threats and darting runs made the Serbians lose confidence and it unsettle them. It also pushed them backward to concentrate more on defending rather than come out to attack. Rohr shouldn't have tried that at all. I know its a friendly but his presence on the pitch gives other players a lot if confidence and coordination. Rohr am sure has learnt his lesson so where do we classify those who believe moses is selfish as a player. The answer we all know |

When World Cup comes, Rohr will carry his usual boys and go to Russia.
Abeg o, did Echiejile play in any of these friendlies, abi dem just use the guy for training? Echiejile is still a back up like omeruo I think. We don't really have a natural LB so the guy may still be relevant |
