victorazy: Bros is obvious ur not close or near to north. U think every person in north are muslim, for ur info their are so many christians all over north and u expects them to run from their village abi?
CAN or whatever are most f00lish ppl, christians don't care for each other. You see pastors living large but never care what the brethren in north are suffering.
God protect FFK. Hard time has really reset his brain to factory mode. During GEJ he was only yanin rubbsh how he sleeps with top women. I thank God he is reasonable now. bros, CAN is not a militant organisation nah, don't be sentimental, I have people in the north and when there is an issue, I call to find out what's happening, as a matter of fact I think Christians in the north are more than Muslims, they just make us think otherwise due to the domineering attitude of muslims generally to promote their religion. The north has always been volatile to Christians from time memorial, it is younger folks who think the problem started today, despite how hostile the north has been to Christians, it has never hindered the growth of Christianity and never will, all major church denominations in Nigeria have strong presence even in the far northern hinterland to verify this. And mind you, these evill will continue as its also a sign of the last days which we are in so anyone who think the problem will just go away does not read the bible. We cannot fight for God as the likes of ffk are saying, do you think ffk is a christian? am no judge but his acts and words prove otherwise |

winterfell007: those people arguing against Onitsha and Kano being included in the special status consideration are cynical. the population within those states dramatically going up. a city like Onitsha is home already to six million people already and counting talkless about those they that come in from asaba to do business on a daily basis. Kano state is remarkably huge despite some insecurity still present there. i acknowledge the fact that Lagos needs a special status. but if these state must receive good amount of the nation economic resources, they must be ready to reflect a state that accomiodates all in their civil service. sate like lagos should be ready to overhaul its civil service to include non indigenes to justify the need to have that special status, so to Anambra and Kano since they are all being considered for equal status. these state must be ready to show they give equal opportunities indigenes and non-indigenes alike to aspire to the offices within the state. that's the burden of one Nigeria. my name remains Emeka Anetoh Stefan thank you na trouble you de find bruv, all what you have said is the reason why the bill is unnecessary, it will create more problems than solutions simple |

TonyeBarcanista: Exactly! Religion should be separated from State. The country has no business with religious laws, considering that we are not a monoreligious people. As a Christian, I am fully aware that authority in Christiandom is ONLY from God through the Holy Spirit. We don't need government, scholars, pastors or jurists to assume the role- in fact, they can't. Government should face other non-religious aspect of our lives.
As for Islamic Courts, they can keep it at their states level if they wish, we don't need a replica at the federal level. Religion will only be separated from the state when our pastors stop allowing politicians to make speech on their pulpit and when we Christians stop our foolishness of supporting political candidates in elections on the basis that the candidate is a christian above competency and character. I love Pastor Adefarasin of aso rock, during his program last weekend[The Experience], Osinbajo, VP was there with his wife for the program, osinbajo did not climb the stage to even say a word of prayer despite the fact that the vp is a Pastor. If all our Pastors start doing this and stop coming out publicly to support politicians for elections, then yes we are on track. That sharia bill will surely be passed with the christian bill now in progress, we have ourselves to blame bruv, am waiting for the likes of father kukah, Ayo and co to come and speak on the christian bill o. However am with you against the bill, na trouble we dey find. |

You criticise anybody that talks against them to the extend of using God's wrath and hell to scare them but you don't want typical northern Christians who have been hit on several occasions to defend themselves.
Brilliant!
1 Sorry am not the one you are describing neither do I belong to a church where the pastor uses body guards. You can go ahead and buy guns for northern Christians o cos CAN is not even that financially buoyant enough to buy guns for them, nobody pays tithes to CAN to show how ignorant the likes of ffk or even the omatseye guy sef are. |

ollah1: If going by your assertion, pastors wouldn't need bodyguards. We have seen loads of them with varies of bodyguards. Why safeguard themselves with armed men when they've got Jesus already. Pastors who are using body guards are the flamboyant ones who have brought too much unnecessary attention to themselves due to too much of luxury which is their own fault. There are many top pastors in Nigeria who don't use body guard at all cos their very high level of understanding. No body guard can stop any boko haram or herdsman attack nah, even those with body guard still get kidnapped |

Those who keep inciting Christians to increase their hate and go violent just because of the stupidity of others who called themselves terrorists or whatever are only using Christians for their political credentials. But the question I always ask is this, will this tactic work?
Now we have a christian bill in the house of assembly, will that stop sharia bill? If Christians begin to arm themselves, will that reduce or stop the activities of terrorists or herdsmen. It's time we Christians begin ask some very deep questions among ourselves. I observe that those who comment on threads like this to support Christians going full throttle like the way ffk postulates are not really Christians, it looks obvious from their choice of words which is filled with lots of incitement, hate and bigotry which will take Christians nowhere. They should ask themselves if the killing of osama bill laden has stopped the activities of al queda and despite the number of boko haram terrorists that have been killed, has boko haram been finally eradicated?
This is a spiritual war that only God himself can fight for us as we wrestle not against flesh and blood according to the book of Ephesians. Believers need to be wise as the bible also says that 'wisdom is better than the weapons of war' Please the best advice we can give to people living in areas where this violent acts are happening is either relocate from the theater of war or collaborate with security agencies to see how it can be reduced if that will work. Listening to the likes of ffk who spew rubbish from the comfort of his bedroom with his babe will only fuel his political credentials which he is trying use to keep himself political relevant. Like someone said, how many guns will CAN buy and how will they account for it, its out of their jurisdiction as CAN is not a militant organisation. CAN can collaborate with security agencies to stem this evil and keep shouting to the world by advocacy to reduce this onslaught. God bless us all. |

drnoel: Yep well said but where the fault lines are so clear is where they couldn't hide the fact that they wanted Kano supported cos of its footwear industry. What does that now say for Aba foot wear industry? Don't get me wrong the idea for such a bill is nice but why should it just support 3 geopolitical zones alone where there are 6? I am not saying aba should be chosen over onitsha cos everyone knows onitsha to rightly deserve the attension. Why give federal support to kano footwear industry knowing full well the aba footwear industry has over run that of Kano?
Some fools will come here and call me ipob supporter without answering the question. I am no ipob sympathizer but just someone who honestly wants to discuss and understand what is not understandable. The bill looks good but is full of flaws. What happens when other geopolitical zones want to add their zones inside too? This is why the bill is very unnecessary, when the Lagos status bill was thrown out initially, it should have been left alone just like that. |

bigotry is killing this Nation and with time it will become a National disaster!
for sharia bill to go thru, christian bill have to be passed, for Lagos special status to go thru, other states have to be included, even the same Kano is included in the north eastern development agency bill when it is clear to all that kano is not in the north east.
We are killing Nigeria gradually, very soon even Aba, Port-harcourt or kaduna will soon ask for special status. This is why I never supported the Lagos status thing from day one, can't Lagos preserve its indigenous identity for God's sake? |

This is the result of all the religious bigotry we keep practicing. As a christian I know it will come to this, the Muslims we keep accusing and blaming are definitely smarter and sharper, they cleverly put on hold the sharia bill and allow the unnecessary christian bill to keep progressing so as to validate their intentions finally.
What we all need from Govt is good governance and provision of basic amenities, the earlier we keep religious bigotry out of our polity space the better for all of us. It will be nice to see how all the prominent christian clergymen will react to this cos this will surely bring division among Christians.
The strategy is simple, give them their christian bill and we get ours as well. |

Bagehot: I guess each individual's experience shapes their world-view. If you ask me which tribe is more spiteful, I would tell you its Igbos based on my experience.
In my first job, we were strictly forbidden from talking about religion and tribe at work. It was owned by delta-igbos, and asides from the fact that they were shitty capitalists, I never had cause to complain that I was treated in a certain way cos I'm yoruba, likewise I'm sure very few (if any) people could complain they were advantaged cos they are Igbo.
As soon I changed jobs to another bank, I had to deal with filthy tribalism on a daily basis. I had an igbo boss who was born and bred in Lagos, but would everyday make a filthy comment about yoruba people. Not like she was a bad person per se, but she made me not keen on coming to work everyday, cos like clock-work, tribalism would rear its ugly head before close of business. It didn't help that Goodluck Jonathan lost the election; as a matter of fact I had to become pro-Buhari against my will, just to silently hit back cos it was excessive. Before long, the contract Staff joined her in making these silly comments. To my relief I got another job, and cut contact with her as soon as I could.
In hindsight, a majority of the Igbo people I worked with were always like that, but I guess cos the environment didn't encourage such, it never over-flowed plus GEJ's loss made a lot of them mad.
Anyways, since then I've since become a staunch supporter of splitting Nigeria, and would happily donate money to IPOB, if thats what it would take. I honestly don't see Nigeria doing another 20 years with this amount of ethnic sentiments. But then its sad, cos the same problems that confront us now would only become magnified when we are all mini-states. painful thing is that this rubbish has creeped into churches our se peeps are now agitating in churches where they feel they are not or cannot dominate others. mhen we are in deep poo in this country with this tribal ish. |

The people who are in Nigeria manufacturing and giving services that requires huge capital will tell you that the business environment isn't too bad right now. Ask the airlines, even the banks . stop the lies, I do attend meetings organised by MAN and I see lots of the asian manufacturers, they are also heavily involved in the agribusiness sector where I work, yes there are challenges but these guys are still thriving especially the ones who are into exports, even the naira devaluation has been to their greatest advantage, the smart Nigerians in these sectors who are exporters have been making the real dough since the naira devaluation. Forget the stories you are hearing even many Nigerian businessmen who earn in dollars through exports are having a swell time in business these days, petrol and diesel to them are cheaper in the dollar equivalent. They join the majority of Nigerians to complain but the truth is they have no qualms. Our media people are too lazy to dig this out. I know a company who has just opened a huge shrimp farm in badagry btw the badagry creek and the atlantic ocean to export 50 million shrimps annually to europe,[I was there to see for myself] they've been in Nigeria for ages exporting shrimps by fishing in our waters now they have diversified to open a shrimp farm and a Nigerian bank also financed them. How our Nigerian businessmen including the looters don't see or explore such opportunity is a mystery to me. Any Nigerian businessman who is a manufacturer and an exporter and is complaining about the economy is just being diplomatic to give an impression that he too is suffering but the truth is they are doing well and I know this. Even the asians who are bringing in finished products, have you asked how come they are thriving while their Nigerian counterparts are not. Something is not adding up somewhere bruv. |
